Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (10/5): - We had a one night stay here, everything was perfect. Excellent location for the town, Giacomo was very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. Room was lovely, we would highly recommend staying here!
- Balint (10/5): - Excellent place, highly recommended!
Selv for italiensk standard.
- Amanda (10/5): - What can I add that hasn’t been said before about this property? Chose it on the basis of the reviews and it exceeded our expectations! Comfortable bed, beautiful clean bathroom, secluded balcony to chill out on, delicious breakfast served by our host. Giacomo is full of tips for the places to visit, along with where to eat local.
We hired bikes at 5€ per hour to cycle around the city walls. At around 4km, it was a gentle way to view the city from every angle.
We took a two hour walking tour to learn the history, we climbed a tower, sat through a one hour Puccini recital to soak up the musical ambiance of the city. The cathedral was well worth 3€ to see the paintings and stonework.
Dined at Vecchia Trattoria Buralli; delicious food at a reasonable price. You know it’s good if the locals choose to eat there.
Thank you again Giacomo for making us so welcome
- Gerda (10/5): - Tolle lokation mitten in der Stadt. Man fühlt sich wie bei Freunden. Sehr zu empfehlen
- Jan (10/5): Sentralt og hyggelig - Hyggelig sted og hjelpsomt personale
Ambiente super pulito e personale gentile. Colazione ottima e molto curata
- Lucy (10/5): - We have just returned from a 9 night stay at B&B Corte Toro in Lucca.
Contact from Giacomo after booking was very good.
We had a wonderful time there. Giacomo is an excellent host.
The B&B is located in a very convenient location for everything you need in Lucca.
It is on a very quiet street.
We had a lovely big room; with a big bathroom with a great shower.
Everything was very clean and comfortable.
There are only three rooms at the B&B and they are well spread out so you hear nothing from the other guests.
There are two flights of stairs up to the B&B, but the second one is quite short. I have arthritis and I had no trouble at all with the stairs.
Giacomo provides a typical Italian breakfast each morning - and the items on offer change each day which was great as we stayed 9 nights. A lovely selection of assorted pastries; some of which we had never had before.
There is a fridge in the breakfast area with cold drinks which can be taken and paid for at check out. This was much appreciated on hot days when we arrived back at the B&B.
There is a very nice balcony area where guests can sit outside.
Giacomo gave us the opportunity to leave our bags on our last day after check out, as our car to the airport wasn't coming until 18:30 - this was great for us!
In conclusion; we had an excellent stay at B&B Corte Toro - we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a visit to Lucca.
- James (6/5): Mixed feelings - We stayed 2 nights. Check-in was fine. Later that day I asked if I could put my bottle of water in the kitchen fridge as our room had no fridge. The woman said yes and indicated the bottom shelf of the door is where to put it. The next morning I went out and bought a piece of fruit to have later in the day and returned to the B&B to put it in the fridge. When I indicated to the man who served breakfast what I was doing he said that space was only for the souvenirs (?) of guests. He had also removed and discarded my bottle of water. After some grumbling by him he allowed me to put the fruit in. This incident soured the rest of the stay. Won't be returning. Also the bathroom had a slight sewer smell. Not pleasant.
- martha (2/5): - There is no lift for this property which is on the second floor. The breakfast was really bad, all there was were sweet cakes, rather than cheese, jam, fresh bread. We move a small table to the left dyring our stating to have more light and we were foing to put it back once we left, we we were told off by the staff
- Janice (8/5): - Lovely B&B, host was lovely and recommended some great places to eat and drink, breakfast was great, brilliant location. Shower wasn’t great but it certainly didn’t spoil things 😊
- JAY (8/5): - It was a good place to stay. Finding it was a bit more difficult since there is it a wayward sign at the door. The sign is flat on the wall so you need to be on the lookout. The signage is also clear and blends in with the brick.
- David (10/5): - Excellent location, excellent service, especially the breakfast.
- craig (10/5): - next time will stay longer... Giacomo was a great host and made sure we were all taken care of at reception and breakfast... nice rooms, great location within the walls of Lucca.
- Manfred (10/5): - Best spot in Lucca
- William Lewis Morris (10/5): - Owner mgr and staff very courteous. Great breakfast options and was very helpful, facility was very clean.
Highly recommend.
- Susan (8/5): - Great spot for being able to walk all over Lucca! Paid parking nearby worked out perfectly with an advanced booking. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a delight with open air balcony with views of rooftops. Our host Giacomo was organized and very professional . We enjoyed our stay very much.
- Mason (10/5): - We had an incredible stay at this fantastic property. Giacomo and Mama made us feel right at home. We can’t wait to visit again!
- Peter (10/5): - Giacomo and Guillermo the dog were great hosts. Breakfast in particular was a lovely experience; Giacomo clearly takes a lot of pride in hosting his guests and it was charming to see his daily routine with Guillermo. Very quiet part of town, short walk to the busier areas, we would certainly stay here again when we return. Grazie mille!
- Sandra (10/5): Great stay. - The B&B was brilliant! Very friendly owner who made us very welcome and lots of advice on local attractions. Very modern and very clean. Amazing breakfast! Would highly recommend. Thank you Giacomo.
- Dan Thanh (10/5): - Great place to stay at! Right in the center, easy walk to everywhere. Bed was very comfortable, room was cleaned and cozy. Will definitely stay here again!
- Daniel (10/5): - The room was great, quiet with a comfy bed and great bathroom. In a quiet street away from the bustle of nearby restaurants and shops. Great hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend!
- Ben (10/5): This is THE place to stay in Lucca, B&B Corte Toro - A warm welcome by Giacomo and Giugniano. Giacomo explained the building very well, pointed out the sites and places of interest and made us feel very welcome.
Our room was very clean and one of the nicest I've stayed in in Italy for a long time. Giacomo makes an excellent Italian breakfast that is very filling and tasty, and the coffe is second to none.
It's about 15 minutes walk from the train station through the walled city, so not a chore, and Lucca is compact, so handy for everywhere.
I can't find a bad thing to say about this place, and can't recommend it enough.
Grazie!
- Dexter (10/5): - Great place! Highly recommend it and super location in centre of old town .
