• Will_W44 (2/5): Noisiest room since Thailand in my 20s - won't stay here again - We had a one-night stopover en route from Vancouver to the UK. Hoping for a good night of sleep before the overnight flight to the UK in cramped airplane seats. We reserved a regular room. At check-in they told us we'd been 'upgraded' to a 'studio' room. Great! They didn't bother to mention that the new room was directly over the entrance to the Drake Underground dance club, on a Friday night. As a result, every time anyone came in or out of the main floor entrance directly under our room, we heard the door bang shut (it actually bangs three or four times each time someone goes in or out). And the place was bumpin'. Music pulsed and exuberant (loud) partyers came and went up 'til closing at 2 a.m., when all the club-goers poured out onto the sidewalk directly below our window. Let's just say some folks in the crowd were still feeling energetic. I'm glad they were having a nice time. For us, it sucked hard, and no one at the hotel had felt it was important to warn us of this. Sleep was not a realistic possibility. Otherwise the place was cute, interesting decor, appealing from an aesthetic perspective, etc. All positive qualities were far outweighed by the terrible night of sleep, which kind of is the whole point of a hotel room: a place to sleep. For me at least.

I was there for a craft workshop and it was so nice to come back every evening to my room. The bathroom is small but that’s fine. The staff at the desk is so lovely and it’s always nice when you’re greeted after day one by your name. Awesome job The Drake - I will be returning.

• merlinhomer (10/5): Prepare to be well taken care of - I hardly know what to stay. I was in the classic suite for 2 weeks, and loved every second of it. Strong menu, comfortable bed, lots of towels, quick room service, outstanding attentiveness & friendliness from every single member of the hotel team, top to bottom. Despite all the excitement often going on in the popular lounge and restaurant areas, the room was very quiet. I have never enjoyed a hotel experience more. This was a combined business, medical, family & friends visit.
• sbenena9 (4/5): No actual doors on the bathroom - I came to Toronto for a concert and stayed at the Drake. I wanted to like it since the location was super convenient, the neighborhood was nice, and the interior design was really cute. However, the worst part of the whole thing was the fact the doors on the bathroom were just sliding glass doors that didn't even close up fully and there were mirrors everywhere so that someone in the bed can see fully into the bathroom area. It was extremely uncomfortable and I had to make my partner wait outside the hotel room at one point so I could do my business because, well, you could hear everything. I don't think I would stay here again until they put actual thick doors up.

• TinLizzy5 (6/5): Not bad, but not as great as the hype and price led me to expect. - The hotel was entirely adequate. If the price point had been Entirely Adequate, I would have been 100% satisfied. But the price point was Higher Expectations and so I was disappointed. For example, there was a lovely coffee maker, and lovely coffee pods. But no tea bags! Each night we asked at the front desk for tea bags for the next morning and each desk clerk had a different response. For another example, there is no chest of drawers in the room so my socks & undies had to live in my suitcase for the week instead of getting unpacked. I will say I liked the decor and style. There is no closet per se, but knobs and hangers placed around the room for hanging up clothes. There's interesting abstract design wallpaper instead of conventional boring off-white paint.
• 928dominiquek (8/5): A quaint & charming hotel - As this establishment was a respectable run/walk distance from Budapest Park (where they hold a parkrun every Saturday), my wife and I opted for this hotel and combine our stay by spending a few days in Toronto … and we were not disappointed. Although we arrived by train and Google Maps indicated that it would take 35 min. to get to the hotel by transit (or 55 min. walk), it took us just over 20 min. to get there as public transportation is very efficient. The hotel was also conveniently located to cafes, restaurants and brewpubs. We booked a classic queen room and upon our arrival, we were told that we received a complimentary upgrade … but we unfortunately didn’t see any difference with what we originally booked. Although the room was small, it was comfortable and provided everything we needed. The only disappointment was that despite we booked for two, the room only provided for one person (i.e. one chair, one face cloth, etc.). But this was fixed promptly as the staff on site are courteous, welcoming and very efficient. Just note that although a mini fridge is provided, it contains pop and juice for sale … same goes for a drawer of munchies, wine, water, coffee, slippers, bath robe, plush toy, etc. The only other drawback is that there were no hooks to hang clothing in the room (we made use of the ironing board). Beds are comfortable but weekends tend to be busier. So be warned that you may feel the base of the music from the underground and guests going back to their rooms during the night. The restaurant was an interesting visit as they have themed nights and the food was excellent. Will certainly consider returning to this establishment.

I was staying just one person whereas this suite can fit two people or two couples since there are two beds and two bathrooms. The kitchenette is a VIBE. I felt just like Kevin in Home Alone 2 when he stays at the Plaza!

• daner998 (8/5): You'll like the Drake - It's a fun place, but needs a little updating. The on premise bar is great, and the bartender, Marc, is phenomenal. The reception was great too, and Deekshi was a standout and very helpful. The food is decent, but used to be better. The rooms are nice, if a little small. The Drake used to be at the vanguard of boutique hotels. I hope they make some updates to bring it back to that level.
• Erin (8/5): If your employer will pay for it - go for it - The thing housing the Keurig pods promised 'milk & cream' in the fridge" but the only options were powdered Coffee Mate envelopes. No mile or cream in the fridge. Didn't love that. The tablet in the room didn't work so for Guest Services I sent a text message requesting room service. I had to sent a prompt about 45 mins later to the suggested number provided in my check in package. Overall the room was very clean and the bedding was comfortable but the level of service I was expecting did not meet my expectations, given the rate.

• GreatSlaveLake (10/5): Great Service at the Drake Hotel - First time at the Drake and I really enjoyed my stay. Queen room, was cozy, clean and comfortable. Good restaurant downstairs, helpful waiters, a popular place with an excellent bar, and a fun trivia night while I was there. A shout out to manager Nazmi Erdogan, who treated me well. Organizers of the conference I attended assured me that they'd booked my room at the Drake but they had not. Mr. Erdogan found a room for me (the last one in the house) had my bags taken up and honored the conference group rate though he had no obligation to do so. Very professional and gracious. Thank you Nazmi.

• robt240 (2/5): Stay was fine - They directed me to this review so I'll do one - Our room must have been under renovation (painting the ceiling). The smoke detector was covered with plastic and painters tape, there was dust settled on most surfaces and when our heater was turned on dust sprayed out. We didn't notice any of this when we arrived as we were there for a wedding and dropped our stuff off and went to the wedding and came back late to sleep. We noticed this all in the morning, I'm sure the staff would have addressed if we had time to bring it up, but it's not acceptable for a room that we paid such a large amount of money for. In reality it never should have been turned over a to guest in this condition. It all appeared to be fresh dust from the panting (my assumption), so I wouldn't say it was a sign of ongoing long term cleanliness issues. Brunch was great, location was perfect for the wedding.

I highly recommend The Drake and take the time to experience the music venue and restaurant on the premises . The food was excellent!
• sydneychau (10/5): The Drake - my friends and I went to the Drake for a breakfast but unfortunately the drag breakfast was sold out but Ryder and Morgan were sweet enough to let us walk down and see a few sets before it ended. On top of that they gave us a coupon for the Photo Booth because we didn’t have any Canadian money on us. The drag queens shouted out our bride and even gave us complimentary shots since all the shows that day were already sold out. I highly recommend this place and especially the staff here. They are the sweetest souls and our bride had the best time ever. Thank you Thank you!!

I had the opportunity to tour the impressive rooftop terrace suite — even the guest corridor hallways are well-designed with great views. The SkyBar was a particular highlight. I enjoyed cocktails & bites accompanied by exceptional service from Adam, one of the bartenders. He was attentive, charming and very friendly. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was both cozy and comfortable. It is truly a wonderful and fun place!

The decor and vibes were amazing and it’s all thanks to the amazing staff. Faegen the event coordinator made it such an easy process to plan and went above and beyond my expectations. My server + bartender duo were Virna and Angelina who also did an amazing job. I would 100% recommend if you’re thinking of planning an event here.

• L1459YAwillf (10/5): Winter Wedding in the Owner's Suite - the best choice! - My wife and I got married in the Drake Hotel's Owner's Suite and it was an absolutely incredible experience! The staff were with us all day helping to set up, organize, and assist with our guests. In addition to the day-of, the staff were in contact with us to help plan everything for months. We had the ceremony on the balcony and a cocktail reception with passed canapes in the suite, followed by a dinner in the cafe downstairs. The staff put all this together, and dealt with getting everyone from space-to-space seamlessly, all while making it look effortless. It's really special to be able to say that even the setting-up part of our wedding was fun! We could not have asked for a more stress-free experience, and it was all due to the world-class hospitality staff at the Drake. Huge shoutout to our event-coordinator, Faegen. Without her this dream wedding couldn't have happened. Also, shoutout to Virna, our lead server for the evening, and our bar team of Marc and Juan were all a joy, and instrumental to the success of our wedding. In addition to the service, the food and the drinks were incredible - our guests were blown away by the quality. Last but not least, the Owner's Suite is the most unique and beautiful hotel room we have ever had the privilege of staying in. It is enormous, boasts an incredible view, and is adorned with unique art. Not to mention it is filled with every amenity you could want. We can't say thank you enough to this team!

• simonapC6208QS (10/5): Delicious brunch spot in Toronto! - My friend and I have been dying to try the drake hotels brunch for quite some time now, and let me tell you this place did NOT disappoint!! The atmosphere and design of the space brings a certain upbeat lavish energy, while the food would cure any sunday scaries youre feeling. I had probably the best scones of my life here (pictured). Stepou was taking care of us and did an amazing job. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

Stepou made sure we were well taken care of, and the staff were super friendly. The atmosphere was fun and lively, the music was on point, and the food was amazing. The lemon glazed scones were my favourite. The whole time there was so enjoyable, and we loved every minute of it. I’d definitely go back!

We stayed in one of the suites (stunning) for a special occasion, hosted a dinner for 30 in the cafe, and ate at the cafe and main restaurant throughout the weekend. The service was excellent, especially for the private dinner. Want to shout out all the staff!

• atronritual (8/5): Great base for a mini vacay. - Rooms in the modern wing are smaller, but so well designed that they are comfortable and have lots of storage. The facility at large has lots of amenities, bar and tasty cafe. A great base for exploring that part is Toronto and beyond.

• L2964XSrichardb (10/5): Very nice hotel in Toronto - Rooms are very nice and clean. The decor makes it modern, yet cozy. But the most memorable part of my stay was Stepou at the front desk. He welcomed me like we're family on my first day and he made sure that my stay remained a positive experience throughout.

Miss Moco and Kai make the experience. - As locals we are regulars at The Drake, either for Drag Brunch with Miss Moco, or brunch at the Skybar. Food is consistently good, a great fun vibe and we love it if we get served by Kai - just brilliant, so friendly and we end up drinking far more cocktails than we planned, due to their recommendations! 🤣👍🏼

• badassbossincorp2025 (4/5): Ab - The most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever been on. You could feel the springs underneath. You could hear insanely loud music from the underground - and I was on the 3rd floor (mostly just the bass but it was loud enough to keep me awake). The crash pad is basically a shoe box that they stuff you in. Also, if you want to stay in this room with someone other than just yourself, and you value your privacy, you will be incredibly annoyed. There is frosted glass on the door to the toilet but you can still see the person inside pretty clear. lol and the shower has NO FROSTED GLASS at all. There is no bathroom. There’s just a shower and a toilet at the foot of the bed. For $500+ a night, this was ridiculous.
• H (4/5): Logistically excellent. - Location of hotel was good for my purposes. Airco was very quiet. Front desk very helpful. Room was not cleaned during my stay as cleaning personnel turned up in the late afternoon when I was in the room. Times of cleaning were not communicated.
• RedWillow99 (10/5): What a warm welcome! - Can't recommend the Drake highly enough. The rooms are interesting and comfortable, and the lobby areas are warm and inviting. But what really makes the stay is how friendly the staff is. Kiki was an amazing ambassador for the hotel and the surrounding areas, and DJ was an awesome bartender.

The rooms were excellent and the staff was so accommodating. The food and their presentation of the food was great. You should really try this hotel, you will not be disappointed. We loved it
• elwoodm796 (10/5): Staff made me feel like I was home. - During a recent trip to Toronto I had occasion to be walking near the Drake Hotel downtown. I decided to try their downstairs restaurant and bar. The atmosphere was fitting to folks who wanted style and finesse but with reasonable prices and great food. That is not all. My server Morgan made my experience especially review worthy. Her professionalism matched with her far eastern Canadian background made this few hour experience worth telling others about. She made me feel at home and when travelling that is as good as it gets. I am going to try the hotel next trip. Thank you.

Faegen, our event specialist, was a true pro. While I stressed over every little detail, she calmly assured me they had everything handled, from the food and drinks to the seating, stage, décor, and flow of the day. Faegen mentioned that The Drake has been doing this for years, and it really shows. She was on-site throughout to make sure everything went off without a hitch. With the added bonus of on-site hotel rooms, it’s a fantastic spot for hosting any kind of company function. And if you get to work with Faegen, you’re in excellent hands!

The location is fantastic, close to key meeting spots and easy to access by public transportation. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with thoughtful amenities that made my stay more convenient. I particularly appreciated the quiet environment, which allowed me to rest and focus. If you’re traveling for work but still want a touch of elegance and comfort, this hotel is an excellent choice.

• bridgett459 (10/5): Phenomenal Rehearsal Dinner Location - We had our rehearsal dinner in the private dining room, Room 222. The atmosphere was perfect, we loved being at The Drake but in a private space so we could have an intimate dinner with our family and bridal party! Angela was absolutely amazing as our server, she remembered everyone’s names and what we all liked to drink from the get-go. The prix-fix dinner menu was perfect for the occasion, gave everyone enough choice and more than enough food for all our guests, couldn’t recommend enough for a group dinner! The addition of the photo booth tickets was sooo fun and such a nice keepsake from the day!

Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Special shoutout to Stepou, our host — such a friendly, welcoming, and genuinely lovely person. He made the whole experience even better with his warm attitude and great energy. Definitely coming back soon. Highly recommend!
