The host was extremely kind, welcoming, and always available to help. We really appreciated the cozy atmosphere and attention to detail.

Die Liegenschaft ist definitiv nicht behindertengerecht erreichbar. Schon beim erste Tor hat es einen erhöhten Absatz. Der Lift befindet sich im Hochparterre (ca. 5 Stufen) und nur mit Schlüssel bedienbar. Enge Dusche.

Am facut check in la ora 24, in plus in ziua de ckeck out ne-a ajutat cu depozitarea bagajelor. In bucatarie erau puse la dispozitie alimente pentru mic dejun, fara a fi necesara nicio plata suplimentarela. Am primit apa si cafea in camera. Chiar daca am fost cazati doar 2 nopti ni s-a facut curat in camera! Good job, Matteo! Recomand ☺️locatia!

• Pierre (10/5): Un séjour très agréable et bien situé - J’ai eu le plaisir de séjourner à Elephant’s Smile et l’expérience a été vraiment remarquable. L’emplacement est idéal, à quelques pas du centre historique, ce qui permet de découvrir facilement les principales attractions de la ville. Les chambres sont propres, confortables et décorées avec goût. On sent une attention particulière aux détails, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable. Les espaces communs sont également bien entretenus et accueillants. Le véritable point fort reste l’accueil : le propriétaire est extrêmement disponible, professionnel et toujours prêt à donner de précieux conseils sur les restaurants, les activités ou les excursions. Je recommande vivement Elephant’s Smile à tous ceux qui souhaitent vivre une expérience authentique à Catane. J’y retournerai sans hésiter ! Seul petit point à améliorer : quelques détails dans les espaces communs pourraient être encore optimisés pour rendre l’expérience parfaite.

• muriel (4/5): Désolés, nous ne conseillons pas ce B&B - L’emplacement et superficie de la chambre. Poubelles dans la rue et à côté de la 1 ère porte d’entrée. Salle de bain : à rénover. Malheureusement, bruit des voitures tôt le matin.
• viktória (5/5): - Nagyon jó helyen van, 5 perc a vonat és busz központi pályaudvar, 7 perc a főtér az óvárosban. A tulajdonos elérhető volt és segítőkész. A szállás nagyon lehasznált, leszakadva az éjjeli lámpa, az egyik nem is működött. Koszosak a falak, nagyon hideg a padló, egy társasházi lakás szobákra osztva, de bent maradtak a régi üvegajtók ajtónak, így minden többi lakó zaját hallani. Az ablak elől a szemetet pénteken és szombaton is elvitték nagy zajjal.

• Omar (1/5): - It was a very bad experience , we changed room many times because of wrong issues , the rooms weren't clean enough, weren't comfortable, and someone tried to open the door at 4 am while I'm sleeping, and the sink was not draining and we sent vedio to the owner and he wanted to change the room again. I decided to leave me and my friend, and the owner sent to booking asking for penalty as he lied about the sink saying that we had broken it. It was a bad experience.

The location is perfect for anyone needing to leave by train or bus the next day, as both are nearby. It’s also within walking distance of the city center. I walked alone late in the evening and very early in the morning and felt completely safe. The rooms are spacious and very clean. • Ahmed (1/5): - I really wished I could write a positive review about our stay in this apartment, but unfortunately what happened cannot go without being mentioned. On the first night, we noticed insects in the place. The owner asked us to change rooms and apologized. On the second night, we also discovered that it was very difficult to use the sink, as the water did not drain properly, so we had to wait a long time just to wash our faces. We informed him, and after apologizing again, he suggested that we could change the room once more. We came here for work, not for vacation, so we spent the whole day working and returned home exhausted. The services were not suitable at all after such long days. On the third day, we asked to leave, but the owner again suggested changing the room for the third time. We insisted on leaving, and he agreed. When we asked him to cancel the third night, he refused and said we could cancel it ourselves. When we tried, we discovered that he had contacted Booking.com and asked them to charge us a €200 penalty for damages we allegedly caused, which is completely untrue. All our conversations with him, including his repeated apologies for the poor condition of the place, are documented in messages. In the end, I do not recommend this place—not because of the apartment itself, but because of the dishonesty of the person renting it. La seconda notte abbiamo anche scoperto che era molto difficile usare il lavandino, poiché l’acqua non defluiva correttamente e dovevamo aspettare a lungo solo per lavarci il viso.

• Ka Hing (10/5): - What a charming B&B! The decor fit right in with the historic building, I loved how much character the place had. My room was lovely, with great high ceilings, a beautiful giant armoire to put all my things and a pretty balcony too. It was very comfortable and clean, and at a great location where you could walk 8 min to the main train station and 12 min to the historic center. Also the common space had lots of snacks and bottled water, a coffee maker, kettle, a kitchen to cook in, etc. It was very well equipped and thought out. Matteo was a very helpful and patient host! It was my last day in Italy and my plans kept changing, he was responsive and accommodating throughout. Thank you Matteo!

• Liz (10/5): Great hotel - The property was nice and convenient for spending a day in Catania before going to the airport. The hotel is near the water and across from several great restaurants and cafés. Overall, it is quiet and a nice place to stay. I had several troubles with the keys and getting into the day along with locking the door. Because it was Sunday it was a little difficult to get in contact with management, but in the end, everything worked out.

• Megumi (3/5): For the same price, you should choose another hotel - Whenever I asked something, they were slow to respond, and it was inconvenient because it took several hours or the next day. One of the keys wasn't working, so I sent a message and they opened it remotely. They didn't tell me in advance that the key wouldn't work. While I was struggling with the key and waiting for the message, I was bitten in the face by an insect I'd never seen before. My forehead was swollen and very painful. After checking in, I asked them to keep my suitcase until my flight, but they only replied at 12:30pm the next day, after check-out (10:30), so it was completely pointless.

Emanuele, bus station and train station just 5min walk. Great for day trips! Several good eating places. Cleaned room every day. Just across the plaza was an awesome gelateria and pastry bar! Also Alibus stop was minutes away which made it very convenient!! Everything was good. Maybe reinforce quiet time after 10 pm -7 am as some of the guests were noisy past midnight BUT no fault of the host.

• Dirk (2/5): Rottening bulding. Better stay out - STAY OUT! This place is full of mold. The Building is from Centuries ago. We could look the mold growing within 24hours. We where in transit and thought is no more than a short night but it stinks, its loud and amount of mold is worrisome. I did talked to another guest and he had the same mold issues.

Kitchen, coffee, mini breakfast available to guests. the facility is located on the square in a safe area, close to the train station, bus stop, 10 minutes from via Etna. I recommend.

Even though I arrived earlier than the usual check in time I was lucky to get the room with a guided self check in process. Matteo is very helpful. The lady who comes to clean is a very friendly even though we communicated using translator app. She is also very helpful. The location is great and it is very close to Catania Central station to take the train as well as Interbus, flix bus in case you need to travel to nearby cities. It is also walkable to the port if you want to take the ferry to Malta as the coach transfer to Pozzallo is from this port. The main attractions and guided tours are walkable from the property.

The apartment is well-located in Catania, with easy walking access to the city center. The breakfast offered is a real highlight compared to other establishments. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free. If I had to choose accommodation in Catania again, I would pick the same place!

If that lock malfunctioned when trying to get out? Just dark huge building with windows facing not really sure what ( another apartment). Clean, conveniently located, big enough…. Just the layout and getting in/out - I was glad when we left after one night.

• Caroline (9/5): Great value, great location and amazing staff. - Very good location, the staff were amazing, beyond helpful. It’s very safe, I was a female travelling alone and never felt unsafe. Property is extremely clean and the room was well fitted out. The keys are a little difficult to use. The locks are old. But that’s it, this property is great value for money
• Janice (7/5): classic property near the city centre - a beautiful and spacious room with a very large and comfortable bed. renovated bathroom with a shower cubicle. common room with a small kitchenette. very close to the main street leading to the Elephant and Duomo area. gratis bottles of water in the common room fridge no staff on site to provide entry to property. self entry was very frustrating arriving late at night and not knowing which door to enter. courtyard locks were difficult to open, even for the local tenants. a bit loud in the morning with traffic from the main road. breakfast is basic. make your own coffee/tea with packaged crackers and packaged pastries (great cafe on the corner).

• Derek (8/5): Wonderfulsligtly eccentric bed and breakfast with big rooms. - There is very little sign of staff and you are left to get on with life at your own pace. There is a kitchen with lots of Italian breakfast cakes or there is a very good pastry shop across the road. Nothing. I am going back in two weeks.

• Alexandra (9/5): Superb - The building housing the apartments is a bit old, but the apartments themselves are very clean and modern. Location is very close to the train station and roughly 10-15 minutes from the city center. I'd stay here again.

• Allison (9/5): Great location and excellent for the value - The location was nice and close to downtown. The room was very large with a comfy bed. The best part was the kitchen area with snacks and water. The wifi did not work in our room and even in the common areas it was very spotty. We had an issue with batteries in our remotes that was solved very quickly.

Felt safe in the flat and quiet as this is not on a main road! Would recommand! Grazie mille Matteo! Nothing
