The standard of accommodation was exceptional, service provided by Karen was above and beyond and the area situated in was breathtaking. An absolute gold star accommodation down to the electric curtains to wake up to the stunning views!! If you are looking for a quick stop off over night or longer stay you will not be disappointed. Absolutely everything is thought of down to the smaller details. A must for anyone staying in that area. Keep up the good work Karen, a fantastic place to stay.

Full of small details making it really luxurious. We had a room for two nights overlooking the Loch. The room was huge with a wonderful bed and electric blinds for privacy. There was a lovely shower and a good coffee machine. There was also a freestanding bath in the bedroom and a basin . We did not use the bath but might do if we had had more time. The room was in a building with another bedroom sharing a large sitting room downstairs with a vast telly and a downstairs loo. Breakfast was served in a separate building. You have to book in for it. Lovely home made breakfast. Because we arrived in the late afternoon, we missed the breakfast menu choices but had what was available which was home made bagels. They were delicious. We would definitely stay again. The owner and her staff are really lovely. and have thought of everything. Ardtorna is 20 mins outside Oban. We had a great dinner at EE-Usk on the waterfront in Oban. Very buzzy modern place with great food. I had a whole dressed crab and some epic chips.

• Jet67865893381 (10/5): Hidden gem for a weekend get away. - Fantastic experience staying at Ardtorna. Karen was a brilliant hostess and the food was first class. We stayed in the House and our room was Ardtornish - top quality premesis and the cleanest best smelling property we've ever stayed in. This was the first of three properties we stayed in on road trip around the country, it was the best value and the highest quality by a mile. We'll be back for a wee break in the better weather.

The room was spectacular with a full wall of windows to appreciate the fantastic view along with other thoughtful, luxurious touches. Since restaurants are a bit of a drive, we ordered the seafood platter for dinner. One of the best decisions we made this trip. It was sublime. A stay at Ardtorna, and a chance to enjoy the gourmet breakfast, are two of the reasons we'll be back to Scotland.

High standards throughout are evident in the building itself, with how the table was laid ready for breakfast and the honesty bar too. • sjmonteith59 (10/5): Another wonderful visit to Ardtorna B&B and we can't wait to return. - We have been fairly regular visitors to Ardtorna over the last few years and we were excited to return for a 3 night stay to celebrate my partner's birthday. We were looking forward to seeing the newly refurbished rooms and we weren't disappointed - the rooms are stunning and the standard of furnishings is of the highest quality. The bed is the comfiest I have ever slept in. Breakfast is always a treat and it is nice that you sit at a long table with the other guests and can chat about where we have visited and share recommendations. The choice of breakfast dishes is the best I have ever seen and I'm glad we had 3 opportunities to try different dishes. We ordered a Seafood Platter for our first evening which we enjoyed while sitting out on our terrace watching the sun set. Karen provided a few extra treats I requested as it was a birthday special. Much appreciated. We were blessed with beautiful weather which meant we could enjoy the view across Loch Creran at sunset every evening. Karen is always ready with a warm, friendly welcome and she and her team just make you feel at home. Karen deserves all the recognition in the awards she has received recently as she puts a lot of heart and soul into making Ardtorna a special place to stay. Sometime we will stay for a week!

Everything about Ardtorna is perfect : its location overlooking loch Creran, the welcome from Karen and the accommodation . Surroundings is peaceful. There is only about 15 minutes to Oban.  Our suite was very clean and it smelled lovely. The bed had fresh linen and there were lovely clean towels. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower. The bed was fantastic for me. Lovely soft and with lots of space. Lovely heavy duvet, which almost gave a hug. However a little too warm at this time of year. Lovely little private terrace.  There was a lovely common lounge and lovely dining room. All tastefully decorated. A little extra has clearly been done for the guests.  We were wonderfully welcomed by a smiling and attentive hostess. We had the most wonderful delicious breakfast. Would love to come again and recommend others to try Ardtorna Thank you for the fantastic service

The bed was very comfortable and the room itself was very spacious. Very clean room on arrival. We enjoyed having the coffee machine in the room, with the coffee pods already provided.

We were fortunate to upgrade our room on arrival, and it was absolutely breathtaking. A cloud-like mattress, spa-quality bathroom, and world-class amenities were just the beginning. The full wall of glass revealed the most spectacular Highland view—rolling hills, endless water, and an unforgettable sunset, all from the comfort of our bed. We genuinely considered changing our whole itinerary just to stay here longer. We also had our own balcony (a new addition Karen proudly shared), where we enjoyed coffee, fresh air, and just more time to soak it all in. Breakfast the next morning was also flawless, with an amazing and specially curated range of options and condiments. The salt station was such a simple yet amazing touch. Ardtorna is more than a place to stay; it’s a rare experience. If you’re lucky enough to find availability, book it! Karen has created a beautiful luxury experience that provides the warmth of a B&B with the utmost class of any fine establishment. Views from the bedrooms that look out directly onto the loch are something to behold. Cannot recommend highly enough.
• Jonelle (8/5): - My husband and I stayed at Ardtorna for one night on our visit to Scotland. The property was very clean and had lots of high end touches and finishes. To me, the bed was very comfortable, but may be too soft for some. The location is great, very quiet and peaceful. We did feel a little bit like we were intruding on the property. When we checked in, we had to walk right through the kitchen where the host was cooking to get to our room and our room was directly above the kitchen. It was quite loud in the morning and evening with food preparation and we found the noise really carried. We also found the room to be quite small and stuffy - very little airflow. You couldn’t really open the window without opening the blinds, which made for a very bright morning. Overall we were fairly happy with our stay, but personally I think it was overpriced for the size of the room and us being woken up before 8am.

Special shout out to the perfume station where we fell in love with multiple scents! The views were also picture perfect, with a lovely location. Would highly recommend staying at Ardtorna.
• Birgit (6/5): - Das gebuchte "Executive Zimmer, Meerblick,27m2" gibt es vor Ort nicht! Hier: Superior Zimmer lt. Homepage. Sauber, leider festmontierter Duschkopf in der Badewanne (Bereitlegen einer Duschhaube wäre hilfreich gewesen). Besondere Grünteebeutel (bzw. überhaupt welche) und besondere Kekse im Zimmer habe ich bei dieser Kategorie (5Sterne) vermisst. Kontinental Frühstück, kein Käse. Für 25GBP besteht die Möglichkeit aus 12 warmen Gerichten sich durch ankreuzen am vorgefertigten Zettel (Abgabe am Vorabend), eines auszusuchen. Der "Smoked Salmon Bagel Platter" ist ein aufgeschnittener getoasteter Bagel (wenn man Pech hat wird er verbrannt serviert) mit Philadelphiakäse und einigen Streifen von geräuchertem Lachs. Die "Scottish Platter" ist ein Würstchen, Schinkenspeck(?), 2Eiern, Tomate, Hash Brown. Ob, beides in Summe 50GBP wert sind, darf jeder für sich selbst entscheiden. Wie manche Vor-Kritiker schon bemerkten, stimmt auch für mich, hier das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht. Am Schlimmsten war für uns aber der Zwang, dass alle zahlenden Kunden um genau 9 Uhr am Frühstückstisch zu sitzen hatten (Kindergarten-Regeln), erst das Müsli zu essen hatten (wenn man es wollte), und dann gab es erst das bestellte warme Gericht. Schlimm war auch die aufgesetzte Freundlichkeit und die nassen oder gegelten Haare der Hausdame. Insgesamt, eher ein unsympathisches Ambiente. Schade.
• Anuradha (6/5): - The property itself if new, clean, and well decorated. The owner/operator Karen is very clinical and lacked warmth. Her interactions with us felt very transactional. There are a lot of cosy and warm and welcoming B and B’s around. If we comeback here, will be looking for another place to stay

We were celebrating my mothers 80th birthday and wanted to take her and my father somewhere special, Ardtorna defiantly was that. The property was spotless and well equipped with stunning views.

We were not disappointed. After a very warm welcome we settled in before heading back out to meet up with family. Karen has styled the property beautifully with a great eye for detail. All of the little extra touches throughout show her dedication and passion. I was able to view other areas of the property which were vacant and although I had seen them online, it was a real treat to have a wee tour around all of the beautifully styled options. I do hope we are able to visit again. One of those rare places where you arrive as a stranger and feel like you are leaving as a friend.

We stayed for two days during a birthday trip for my wife and the warm welcome, scones, room, views and breakfasts were all exceptional. • attima2016 (10/5): Premium experience - Our room was superb. It had sensational views across the loch towards the mountains and we could watch the sun setting from our private balcony. The bed was super-comfortable and the room wonderfully luxurious. Apart from the soft furnishings, we had remote-operated curtains, cinema screen and projector together with access to Netflix. We didn't have time to try the breakfast or room service but the food smelled delicious. A class act!
• D9478ZNjanem (10/5): On your journey from Fort William to Oban do not miss this hidden gem. - Set in a wonderful quiet location with spectacular views of the loch Karen the host has provided luxurious accommodation. No stone had been left unturned in the attention to detail and such colourful elegant design throughout. Evening meals are to order and delicious. Breakfast is an amazing experience. We wished we could have stayed longer.
• teresas129 (8/5): Amazing view - Bed and breakfast with an amazing view, hot scones on arrival and a very tastefully decorated house. Bedrooms were lovely with separate patios. About 10 miles out of Oban, a car is a must. Breakfast is serviced at a long table with the other guest, two sitting 8 or 9 o clock and breakfast must be ordered the day before. I felt the could have been far more selection of fruit and less assorted salts. Karen, the owner, greeted us well and explained the workings of the B&B but that's were I felt it stopped. I didn't feel she was too approachable or giving any info about the surrounding area.

• Sunshine197718 (10/5): A wonderful spot near Oban - We stayed here for two nights on our way to the north of Scotland. I think this may be the best B&B I have stayed in- no exaggeration. The rooms are beautifully furnished. It’s nice and quiet. The bathroom is lovely with Molton Brown products. We had ordered a large antipasti platter for when we arrived which was very tasty. The breakfasts were amazing. There is a well stocked bar with soft drinks, wine and spirits. We didn’t partake but were tempted! Karen the owner is a great host, warm and welcoming.
• Mark (2/5): - Definitely not 5 star service and facilities. Reception was rude and cold , and the room is not at all as represented in the listings. Very noisy with no soundproofing, small room without sitting area, and not a superior double room with two bedrooms as represented. Hotel does not accept credit cards for room service (had to go to ATM 8.5 miles away), and does not provide vegetarian options. 3 star to 3.5 star at best. Seriously misrepresented.

• GazzaandSazza (10/5): A slice of heaven overlooking the shore of Loch Creran. - After our first visit to Ardtorna in 2022, the question was never if we would return but simply when we would return. We were smitten by the place and by the welcome afforded to us by the wonderful owner Karen and her team. We have recently returned from our fourth visit to Ardtorna, having spent a lovely, relaxing five-night break in our favourite place in this part of Scotland. Karen has created a superb holiday destination. The view from the lounge still takes my breath away every time. The rooms are pristine and comfortable and on every subsequent visit, there is always some new addition to the rooms, the fabric of the building and/or the service on offer. There are plenty of lovely touches that make Ardtorna special and, as I say, always new additions to discover. Karen is not someone to rest on either her laurels or on her past achievements and accolades. She endeavours to provide the very best experience for her guests and does so with genuine warmth and great good humour. The meal that she provided for us when we arrived this time was exceptionally good (even by her already high standards). Restaurants in and around Oban had a tough act to follow for the following four nights! The breakfasts once again were exceptional and I even tried one or two new things that I would not necessarily have tried at home. The choices on offer are vast and the breakfasts we had were the perfect start to each day. The website gives you a great idea of Ardtorna but the best way to experience it is to simply go there yourself. We love it and spread the word about how much we love it to friends and family. We cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning once again in the near future. Thank you so much, Karen and the brilliant Ardtorna team!

• U1826JUjohns (10/5): A Unique and Unforgettable Experience - We had an amazing stay at Ardtorna! It's impossible to list how many memorable features there were! The buildings and room were immaculately clean, beautifully presented, comfortable and luxurious. Karen is an exceptionally talented hostess. Both her and the other staff were constantly friendly and professional. The attention to detail and hard work that goes in, are obvious just about everywhere you look! There were so many individual features to make it a completely unique and memorable experience, such as the sparkling water station, selection of salts and spices at breakfast, and homemade whiskey cream liqueur on the honesty bar. We had breakfast for each of the three nights we stayed. In addition to the regular fry-up, cereal, toast, juices etc, there are many other cooked options on offer, which I think were all Ardtorna specialties. The food was all homemade, exceptionally prepared, and presented in a relaxing and beautiful breakfast room, with expansive views over Loch Creran.

We were met with a smile by Karen and were immediately taken with how spotless and well maintained the property was. We were given warm scones on arrival and access to the snack and sparkling water station which is available all day as is an honesty bar. The breakfast menu had so much choice and was very good! The rooms were cosy and very comfortable with lovely views. Ardtorna is an easy 15-20 minute drive from the port of Oban and had a welcome electric charger point for our car. We’d go back again in a flash if we return to the area.

Breakfast was just simply a wondrous experience with a clean plate at the end. Karen the owner/host is a beautiful person who makes you feel completely comfortable. • S9039MZlorraineg (10/5): Awesome 5Star Luxury B&B - I cannot find enough superlatives to describe Ardtorna. This place is simply amazing. We stayed for 2 nights and were loathe to leave. We had a wonderfully warm friendly greeting from Karen, the owner, and were served warm scones with jam & cream on our arrival. Our room was immaculate, as is the whole house. The facilities provided were out of this world and Karen was always on hand to assist, advise the best places to eat or simply just chat. The breakfast was amazing.......so good I almost licked my plate clean!!! I would highly recommend Ardtorna to anyone visiting the Oban area and we've already booked our next stay.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we couldn't have been made more welcome by a wonderful owner, Karen, in accommodation that certainly lived up to it's billing. It is clear that no expense had been spared down to the most minor of details. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite that was most certainly 5 star with a view to die for. I don't know how Karen manages to offer such a huge breakfast menu but all of the choices we made were cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. Also of note, the recommendations that Karen made for places to visit and places to eat were all exceptional. It is clear that this owner has a wealth of experience and loves hosting and this is amply reflected in this stunning guest house. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Brilliant views and a beautiful room, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Despite the weather, I managed to enjoy the private balcony which was an added bonus, would recommend a stay here!

• Diane (10/5): - Lovely small B&B where breakfast is optional (if you're not an early riser). The well-appointed rooms all have a private patio with a comfy love seat and a beautiful view of the loch. A lot of care and thought has been put into the design. Our hostess was lovely and quite helpful and her restaurant recommendation of the Old Inn was truly appreciated - best steak ever in a centuries old stone house. This was a lovely getaway from the more touristy areas and very handy to Glencoe for some very memorable hiking.
• Marisa (10/5): - A great choice for a luxurious stay in a gorgeous remote setting along the loch. The views of this modern property are divine, the common lounge was well decorated and a great place to observe the sunset. Our room was well appointed, with great bedding and an awesome bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub with jets! There were very nice touches including great toiletries, robes and slippers, and a nice tea service in the room. The room can get hot, but a Dyson fan was included. Do note that when you book through Expedia features like the breakfast and scones on arrival are not included and would be added costs. The hostess offers what looked like amazing food options, but we did not use, so cannot comment.

• Alex (6/5): - No scones for you! I have mixed feelings about our stay at Adtorna. The facilities are nice and location good. However, I have two issues. First, the facility was purpose built but lacks character. It reminded me of a modern German hotel. Second, and most importantly, the owner does not like Expedia customers. For example, all customers get fresh scones and cream upon check-in, except anyone who booked through Expedia. I asked the owner about this and it was because they get less of a cut from Expedia clients. I then asked why they put their booking on Expedia, and they said that "the exposure is priceless" and it helps drive customers to book directly through their website. All that is fine, but why discriminate against the customer? In my opinion, that is very bad business that demonstrates a lack of try concern for the customer experience. All over a a simple scone! At least I got to experience the nice fresh baked smell!

• Verified traveler (10/5): - We got upgraded to a better room than we had booked! The room we stayed in was very cosy, with lots of storage (shelves and drawers) and a fridge. The decoration was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very well designed and the shower had lots of room. The only thing we might change would be the blinds over the window/door: they looked amazing but did not block the light and I was awaken very early by the brightness in the room. Next time, I'd bring an eye mask.

Hot tubs, outdoor sitting areas, two indoor sitting areas with walls that are massive windows overlooking the loch, and a wonderful eating area. It’s quiet, peaceful, and the rooms are well appointed. This is a must stay if you’re in the area and have at least a couple of days.

We especially love the luxurious bathtub in the room. Our host Gregor was kind and attentive. He alerted us to a problem with one of the tyres of our car and helped us inflate it. We appreciate the wonderful hospitality plus the super apartment!

I recommend verifying details regarding check in and breakfast options prior to arriving to ensure no miscommunications. We did not make arrangements in-person when we arrived and did not receive breakfast the first day although we had emailed and agreed to the price to have breakfast both days prior to arriving. This place is great for solo or couple travelers but do not recommend families or large groups. We had 5 in our group across 3 connected rooms and felt like we were walking on eggshells due to sound traveling with no carpet or fabric to absorb it and all tile flooring. Overall, great place!
• Katie (10/5): Amazing place - Ardtorna is beautifully designed. We stayed in the room on the 1st floor, amazing views across the loch. Karen is super friendly and she runs a tight ship. Every aspect is taken care of and there is amazing attention to detail. The bed was super comfy and the place is spotless with little thoughtful touches such as warmed scones upon arrival, remote control curtains to reveal the amazing view etc. We were on a couple's get away for the night and we throughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. Highly recommended!

• Kathy (10/5): - This B&B is outstanding in its location next to the Loch, and the beautiful facilities. The place looks and feels brand new even though it was built several years ago. The owner has strived to keep it sparking clean and decorated perfectly. Breakfast is customized to each guest, and Kathy herself does the shopping and preparation each day. We also enjoyed the complimentary scotch, cream whisky, and homemade scones at check-in. It was a wonderful experience overall!
• David (10/5): Valentine’s Day Trip - Very clean and modern property; the bed was a huge king size and the best sleep I have ever had. Karen, our host was very welcoming and friendly. The location was beautiful overlooking a Loch and very peaceful. A very pleasant and relaxing stay.
• Richard (10/5): - It was a 5star property in all respects lovely room with quality products in the en suite. We much appreciated the nibbles in the fridge and the Jura single malt which are all complimentary. Only sl blip in that the housekeeper who cleaned our room forgot to lock it up on leaving -fortunately no Losses happened. I fully recommend this property.

The bed was the most comfiest bed I have ever slept in. Karen was welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing evening. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
