• Edis (10/5): Wonderful homey accommodation - From friendly staff to superb cleanliness, this hostel was the best on my 47 days trip in Portugal. Big public kitchen, big common room, big dining room, breakfast included, charming historical building/convent in an interesting neighborhood, all for an affordable price, i can go on and on and on and on. The city itself is the biggest beautiful surprise on the trip. Thank you friends.

La habitación era amplia para dos personas y cómoda. Buena relación calidad preciovl, volvería a ir. Para dos noches está bien. Camas cómodas. El baño tenía un feo olor , quizás provenientes de las cañerías. Pero se hacía sentir cada vez que se interesaba. Sin perjuicio , el baño y la habitación estaban limpias. La cortina de la ducha era corta y salpicaba el agua.

• Priscilla (7/5): classic, historic and well located. late check ins and cold staff. - really well located. nice view of the historic tannery zone ruins. the building is amazing, historic. staff was really rude and have wrong info in booking.com. we chose a bedroom bc it had double bed and bathtub option. when I sent a msg asking for the option of the bathtub because it was my bday they just answered that the “twin rooms doesn’t have bathtub”. I tried to explain that I wanted a double bed bc we are a couple but I keep on receiving the same answer. check in was amazingly “cold” for North Portugal. but other workers (cleaners etc) were super nice and warm. check ins are REALLY late, idk why. that was super bad.

• Julian (4/5): Eat breakfast outside if you must stay here, lots of cute places around. Great for big groups. Affordable! Prime locatio - The room and views were beautiful. The architecture was immaculate. The rest is a bit less than worth what’s been paid for. They had a nice hot coco selection at the machine during breakfast. Check-in staff are very friendly, and helpful. Outside seating and spacious location. For the price of stay we received cheese & ham slices, bread and some cereal. Compared to a remote country location, it’s laughable. The out of breakfast hour coffee machine provided soured milk and poor quality coffee. It made me run to the bathroom for 30 minutes. The breakfast machine doesn’t have coffee, and the staff while friendly, often make it a point to showcase annoyance or scoff at you when you’ve “overstayed your welcome” during breakfast hour. The shower was fine but the repeated button press for water every 10seconds was a clear indication of wanting you to wash quickly. It’s not an old building but a personal choice in design as the bathroom has obviously been renovated.

• Maria (9/5): - Παρόλο που έμεινα μόνο ένα βράδυ είχα μία πολύ ευχάριστη διαμονή! Το δωμάτιο ήταν εξαιρετικά ευρύχωρο, καθαρό, ήσυχο και είχε υπέροχη θέα σε ένα παλιό εργοστάσιο βυρσοδεψίας. Τα κρεβάτια μεγάλα και αναπαυτικά και τα μαξιλάρια παρείχαν καλή στήριξη. Το πρωινό ήταν τίμιο για τα λεφτά του αλλά θα μπορούσε να ήταν λίγο πιο πλούσιο. Το προσωπικό ήταν πολύ ευγενικό, εξυπηρετικό και πρόσχαρο. Όσον αφορά στην τοποθεσία, βρίσκεται σε στρατηγικό σημείο καθώς όλα είναι προσβάσιμα με τα πόδια δηλαδή είναι μέσα στο ιστορικό κέντρο και τόσο η στάση των λεωφορείων όσο και των τρένων είναι σε απόσταση 10-15 λεπτών με τα πόδια. Επίσης, σε απόσταση αναπνοής βρίσκεται η Taberna Trovador, ένα υπέροχο και συνάμα οικονομικό εστιατόριο, όπου είχα ένα από τα καλύτερα γεύματα κατά τη διάρκεια των διακοπών μου στην Πορτογαλία. Συνολικά, VFM επιλογή και σίγουρα θα ξανά έμενα σε επόμενη επίσκεψη μου! Το προσκέφαλο του κρεβατιού.

• Frédérique (9/5): - J’ai beaucoup aimé l’architecture et l’histoire du bâtiment. Les grands espaces collectifs aussi : le salon bibliothèque notamment, la cuisine, la terrasse. J’ai apprécié de pouvoir participer à une longue séance de yoga animée par une professeur au top niveau, qui s’est déroulée dans un espace mansardé au dernier étage. Le manque de prise pour recharger son téléphone dans le dortoir.
• JIng (8/5): - Like dorm for university. In general, it’s value the money! The breakfast was really good, like the cartine in the university. The bed was not comfortable, unstable, when I turned, it was shaking, sorry for the people slept down. No socket for charging. But if looking at the price, it has big living room, big cartine, good breakfast, kitchen. Nothing can complaint. Also, quite some young people living there, for seeking work, or study, or temporary enjoying Guimaraes, which is one of my favorite places in the north Portugal. So if looking for a budget stay, this is definitely a good option. The bed.

La struttura non disponeva di una sicura e capiente cabina per i propri effetti. È ahimè sono stato vittima di furti e rottura della valigia da parte di un ragazzo che era in camera con me.
• Barberino (1/5): Horrible and Traumatic - Reclamação Formal — Falta de Responsabilidade e Segurança Fiquei extremamente insatisfeito com a postura do hostel diante de um episódio de roubo ocorrido durante minha estadia. Mesmo tendo seguido todas as normas de segurança recomendadas — guardando meus pertences de maior valor dentro do armário trancado com o cadeado fornecido pelo próprio estabelecimento — o armário foi arrombado e meus itens foram roubados, resultando em um prejuízo de 500 euros. O que torna a situação ainda mais grave é o fato de as câmeras de segurança estarem desligadas, o que impossibilita qualquer investigação adequada. Além disso, fui informado de que o hostel não possui seguro que cubra esse tipo de ocorrência, nem demonstrou qualquer sensibilidade ou responsabilidade pelo ocorrido. É inaceitável que um estabelecimento que recebe hóspedes diariamente não garanta mínimas condições de segurança para seus clientes, especialmente quando seguimos todas as orientações fornecidas. O descaso demonstrado pelo hostel e a recusa em oferecer qualquer tipo de reembolso ou apoio apenas reforçam a fragilidade do sistema de segurança e o descomprometimento com os hóspedes. Trata-se de uma experiência péssima e traumática, que jamais deveria ocorrer em um local que se propõe a oferecer hospedagem segura e confiável. —————————————————————————— Formal Complaint — Lack of Responsibility and Security I am extremely dissatisfied with the hostel’s attitude regarding a theft that occurred during my stay. Even though I followed all the recommended safety rules — keeping my most valuable belongings inside the locker and locking it with the padlock provided by the hostel — the locker was broken into, and my items were stolen, resulting in a loss of 500 euros. What makes the situation even more serious is that the security cameras were turned off, making it impossible to properly identify the suspect.
