Guest Reviews
- Christelle (8/5): - Très bien
- Lalao (10/5): - Parfait.
- Ambrose (8/5): - We were a bit confused initially when we arrived in an out of town shopping zone. The hotel facilities were excellent but I felt that the staff were keen for us to finish our lovely meal. We had arrived in the restaurant at 20.30 and had been reassured that we were welcome. Maybe I've misread things but I did get a vibe that staff would prefer if we finished sooner rather than later.
- Susan (8/5): - For us it was a good central location for day trips in Hauts-de-France. Lots of parking and shopping across the street. Rooms look over or open to a garden. Weirdly situated in an industrial area. Onsite restaurant is excellent. While somewhat dated, the rooms are very clean and well maintained. Staff speaks some Engish and are very hospitable.
- Raven0011 (8/5): Comfortable one night stay, quiet room, excellent food and service - We had a ground floor room, with a comfortable bed which faced the garden and pool. Sadly the pool was closed due to refurbishment. It had a walk-in shower room and separate toilet We enjoyed a very good evening meal in the hotel restaurant - as shown in the photos. Service could have been quicker but the food made up for it. Starters of asparagus for my husband and lobster, foie gras and avocado for myself. Mains were cod and sea bass. Desserts were a Grand Marnier flambee and rhubarb crumble. The restaurant is obviously popular with locals as it was busy with diners who were not hotel residents. I would recommend to book a table if you wish to eat here. Breakfast was simple but fine. Enough to get us on our way to the next stop. Would use this hotel again.
- Iain (10/5): Great find - Love this hotel, great find with super staff and restaurant with reasonable prices.
- tim (8/5): - Friendly helpful staff, lovely restaurant and room. Very nice place to stay.
- Colin (10/5): - No.
- John (10/5): A very pleasant 2-night stay - Slightly confusing to get to as it’s through a retail park. But once there the retail park is completely forgotten, it’s an oasis of calm and tranquility. A good hotel for visiting the battle fields in that area.
- Trevor (8/5): - The reception was very welcoming from the staff and very clean, the room was clean and adequate. The restaurant food was very good, unfortunately as it was a set meal no choice of food.
The only Dislike i had was Dogs mess left all-around the carpark, in the UK we pick it up so no one treads in it.
Super !
- Thomas (8/5): OK for business trip but recently NOT renovated - Located on the opposite site of a shopping mall it was still quiet enough to enjoy dinner in the yard and to get a good nights sleep. The staff takes good care of you, however breakfast was very limited and the place could use some renovation...
Bon accueil
- coling201 (8/5): Still very nice, dont let the drive through the industrial estate put you off - Still very nice, don't let the drive through the industrial estate put you off , this was our second visit, and we are likely to return. We had a nice size well equipped room with all mod cons. Our reception was pleasant and professional Breakfast was good too.
- Just_the_Wanderer (8/5): Quiet hotel in the middle of an upgrade - The hotel itself looks a little old, however, everything work fine and they were in the middle of a big upgrade, so I think that soon it will be even better. It's one of the best hotels to sleep, since there is no noise at all at any time. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good, with a lot of choices.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Don’t be put off by the location of the hotel. We rated as a stop off on the way back from Italy. I’d stay again for sure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hotel with lovely staff. The courtyard is a little oasis and our room opened out onto it. Would stay again.
- Jane (10/5): What a little gem - Not planned but so grateful!! Due to a plethora of disasters I found myself book a hotel for the same day of searching. Do not let the location put you off - for a pit stop in your way or on your way back it’s perfect - beyond perfect!! Glorious restaurant, lovely staff, convenient location, I laid my the pool & could believe how peaceful it was - I will return
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Tired looking property, not kept up to date, no aircon in rooms, rooms were hot, meal was nice but expensive, breakfast was just pointless, nothing hot, 4 staff all rather chat than look after customers, some rhubarb jam but nothing else, coffee was awful, the worst breakfast at a hotel I have encountered.
- dorotheem443 (10/5): Hidden gem !! - We stayed at the Lenshotel over Easter. Please do not be put off by the surroundings as situated at the edge of a trading estate. Once you are there It is a little oasis !! The Hotel is beautifully decorated, a very welcoming reception. I loved the way the rooms make a horse shoe around the garden and many rooms had doors out onto the garden and their own table and chairs to sit out.
We had a family room, wow the biggest bed I have ever slept in !! And so comfy. It was almost 2 rooms so we really felt like we had a bit of space from our son. Our beloved dog Lottie was also very welcome. The weather was very sunny and warm and staff often came and asked if she needed water, she was welcome everywhere !
The restaurant was of excellent quality. I loved the chicken dish I ordered , it was beautiful.
The choice for breakfast was great ! I had freshly cooked pancakes🥞, fruit, yoghurt and freshly squeezed orange juice. My husband and son enjoyed making their boiled eggs in a special machine. Lots of other choices also.
Only an hours drive to Calais so ideal location as stopover as well as longer stay. We will be back again! Thank you for being so welcoming !!
- Didier (10/5): A recommander - Très bien
- Verified traveler (8/5): - HOTEL 3 + parfait
très bonne table de restauration
- Jean (10/5): week-end nordiste - Hôtel calme, très bon restaurant
un bémol, pas facile à trouver !
- tonydO5275PR (8/5): Excellent Value for money stopover 1 hr from Calais - Although this hotel is situated in a shopping and commercial area you would not know it as all the newly and tastefully decorated rooms have a patio area that face onto a grassy courtyard at the centre of which is an outdoor pool. The beds are extremely comfortable and also amongst the largest we have ever slept in.
The restaurant is worth a special mention. We only had the 20 odd euro tourist menu but it was absolutely delicious. If you stay do eat in the restaurant its welll worth it.
- RWVDH (6/5): Better then average stopover hotel - Hotel is located in an ugly commercial centre. But once past the reception at the back of the hotel you'll find a large garden complete with pond and pool were you forget the location it's in. They have a family room which sleeps 4 (€ 135,-) and is big.
Owners are busy with updating the place. Some parts are still oldfashioned or a bit dirty. But they are working on it, including changing the matrasses.
Restaurant is average, pricing is a bit too steep. They forgot our dessert wine, but after we went to our room local staff did bring it free of charge. Possibility to eat outside which is nice. Breakfast was good.
Tripadvisor doesn't allow half points, otherwise I would say this is 3.5 out of 5.
- dinahb (10/5): Very good place to stay. Don't let the retail centre around it put you off. - Stayed on way back to Calais. Comfortable room, very helpful staff and an excellent restaurant. We would stay there again. I suspect it was built long before the retail park grew up around it. To find it, I recommend Google maps, put in the name of the hotel and believe the route it gives you; I say that because there are some misleading signs around the area which send you off in the wrong direction. And you can stock up on French produce to take home, at the Cora hypermarket nearby!
