Guest Reviews
- Brendan (10/5): - the golden ball was a great place to stay, if i go back to the area i would stay again.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Very good stay with friendly and helpful staff. Interesting history of the Inn - the staff explained when we asked lots of questions. Comfortable beds.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely staff and beautiful location - Lovely staff and beautiful location
- elizabeth (6/5): - Basic room quite noisy above a pub so no surprise really .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This Inn was close to most of the Ironbridge museums yet set in a quiet area just out of town. About 20 mins walk down steps and beautifully trellised walkways. The staff were very friendly and the food was great, nicely presented, tasty and well priced.
Room 4 was a lovely twin room, separate bathroom and a sitting area looking down onto the courtyard. Would definitely stay again, though the beds were overly hard:(
- Lisa (8/5): Great value. - Clean and comfortable. Plenty of space in the Derby Suite. Great value room. We had some food at the pub too which we enjoyed. Thumbs up.
- T (10/5): Proper English Pub & Hotel - In a great location the Golden Ball Hotel (Built 1728) is a typical old fashioned English Hotel. The service was super and the room was comfortable. Food was excellent and great value. A short walk from Ironbridge down the hill.
Would definitely stay there again.
- craig (10/5): Great customer service - We booked for a weekend visit as a base to explore the Shropshire hills and blist Hill victorian village which were very close.
The customer service we received here was second to none, really nice and friendly staff.
There is a car park on site which was reasonably sizable, which we had no problems getting a space at all hours.
We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and an evening meal in the pub too, definitely recommend the burger.
A short albeit steep walk into town to visit the ironbridge is recommended aswell.
Overall a great experience, will definitely return again in the future
- Steve (8/5): - Very typical old inn experience. I’d use it again. Easy and plentiful parking
- David (8/5): 1728! - Great old (1728) place, full of character and charm.
Room was comfortable and clean.
Well stocked, cosy bar.
Food OK.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I had a very comfortable stay at the Golden Ball Inn (two night stay while visiting Telford for work). The room and bathroom were large and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A Gem - Our twin room was actually two rooms with a little lounge area. Very historic with low beams.. mind your head! We also had dinner there which was excellent and amazing value.
- Ian (8/5): short break at The Golden Ball - Nice Inn on the outskirts of Ironbridge with a good food menu, bit noisy late in the evening if in your room but that's what you must expect when staying at such a facility I suppose.
The Manageress was extremely helpful and a lovely lady and the barman very efficient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice location, quiet and a little off the beaten track, but still close to Ironbridge centre. Very nice room, friendly, polite staff and good food!
- Jan (8/5): Good place to stay - Great place to stay but the stairs are difficult to negotiate, especially with luggage - watch your head. Our room was large with tea and coffee making facilities and a good en-suite. Pub is next door and served a variety of food. No noise problem except for a few minutes around 8am when the dogs from somewhere let us know they were there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good beer, nice pub, easy walk into Ironbridge, good value, good breakfast. No complaints
- steve (8/5): Good spot - Booked last minute for one night had a great stay room was clean and just what we wanted. Pub was welcoming and breakfast was good. Don’t worry about it being uphill from the town because my wife and I made it back up in 7mins
- Keith (10/5): Good find - This place was a good find. We stayed in the Bedlam suite ( named after the nearby furnaces)
The room was comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. Plenty of tea and coffee and bottled water. The car park was large with fairly easy access. Very good full English breakfast.
We enjoyed our evening meals in the restaurant.
- wing keng (4/5): Hols in UK - Water pressure in the shower was weak, we informed the staff, next day there's no hot water in the shower. We managed to inform staff about the lack of hot water, they talked about resetting the boiler, it's about 11pm before we get our hot water shower.
The TV in the room is tiny and quite impossible to get any signal, we gave up.
- Hilary (8/5): Good local pub - Good local pub. Room was clean. Food was nice.
Good value
Short walk from the village
