• Dina Fernandez (10/5): - This place is great, beautiful all around. I will be back. If you´re going by train, do call Christine, the owner, in advance. If she can, she will pick you up at la gare. Otherwise you have to download Sarlat´s taxi cab application before going, because there is no Uber nor a normal taxi service in town. Walking to the hotel from the Centre Ville will take around 10 minutes and it´s uphill. From la gare...maybe 20... but with luggage it can be hard. Ohh! Do sign up for breakfast and Christine´s amazing brownies and listen carefully to her recommendations. She really knows her region and will advise you wisely.

Christina, the owner, could not have done any more, she is a fantastic tour guide and offered great recommendations on where to eat. Rooms are decent size and the pool are is great.

Différents chaque jour, on voudrait rester plus longtemps pour en goûter davantage. Le seul hic, le prix ? 14€

La chambre était spacieuse, très propre et au calme. Le petit déjeuner était copieux et proposé avec des produits locaux. Sans hésitation, nous reviendrons.
• Elisabeth (10/5): - Stayed at this lovely little hotel for 5 days. This cosy hotel is well organised and the rooms are spacious and clean. Nice swimming pool and lovely breakfast. The hotel is in a quit area of Sarlat, only a 10 min walk from the medieval center. Mme Christine made us feel very welcome and helped us to plan our stay, so we would see the most of this beautiful part of France.

• jane (10/5): Wonderful French Experience - What a wonderful experience! The room was very European, not like a large room in an American chain hotel. The location was perfect for us as it was peaceful and surrounded by nature, but a short walk into the historic district. The walk is up and down a somewhat steep hill. The highlight of our stay was our host, Christine, who was informative, kind, helpful, and full of energy. Since we don’t speak French, we appreciated Christine’s English skills in both speaking and understanding. We stayed three nights, but we wish it could have been longer!

• oded (10/5): Good hotel - The hotel is great. The owner Christine was very helpfull with tips about touring arround the area or anything else we needed. The locayipn is great and it was about 8 minutes wslking from city center. However as the hotel is located on a hill walking back takes 20 minutes and might be a bit difficult to people withealking problems.
• Sibylle (8/5): - Schöne Lage oberhalb des Ortes. Sehr schönes Gebäude mit Pool und großzügigem Parlplatz. Nett eingerichtete Zimmer. Frühstück sehr liebevoll mit Produkten aus der Region. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und kommunikatv und gab uns viele Tipps für Besichtigungstouren. Die Zimmerreinigung war leider nicht sehr umweltbewusst; die Handtücher im Bad wurden fast täglich gewechselt, obwohl wir sie nicht -wie in der Hotelbroschüre vorgesehen - auf den Boden warfen.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Staying at Bon Encontre was like staying in a very large house. I loved the location a few minutes away from the city center up on the hill with a lovely vista of Sarlat.
• Sid (10/5): - We had a comfortable spacious room in this lovely place. The breakfasts were excellent and there is good parking. The only drawback is the fairly steep climb to return from a walk to the old medieval City of Sarlat. The old city maybe just 7 minutes away walking down the hill, but it is harder climbing back up, especially after a large meal of rich Dordogne food. Best of all is Christine Granger, the propriator. She was extremely helpful with good suggestions about places to see and the best places to eat. She even helped us make a reservation for a tour at a wonderful prehistoric site on the way of our drive back to Toulouse.
