• Michele (4/5): Good location but that it the only good thing about the stay - Lobby was cool and most staff (not housekeeping) was very nice and helpful Housekeeping never came to clean. No closet. No fridge. Shower smelled. Noisy due to location. Doors were very heavy. Vallet was overpriced. Rooms were entirely too small. They spent too much money on the lobby and not enough in the rooms.

• karina (10/5): Will definitely come here again! - The vibe of the hotel is really nice and industrial looking, I loved that there was a speakeasy in the actual hotel! I wish that there was more clothing storage.
• Mikaela (8/5): - Location, Comfortable rooms, Ambiance Valet parking price. Found much cheaper parking two blocks away. Found out from the valet guy, it’s one of the garages you use. If you dropped the rate in half, it might have been worth it but we didn’t mind walking the short distance.

Pela manhã, eles oferecem café, leite e chá. Os funcionários são simpáticos e, durante minha estadia, não tive nenhum problema. O quarto é realmente pequeno, cerca de 3,50 x 4 m, o que pode atrapalhar um pouco se você estiver com muitas malas. Não há frigobar, microondas e nem cafeteira. O pior ponto negativo é o estacionamento: no hotel, a diária custa 70 dólares durante a semana e 80 dólares nos fins de semana. A boa notícia é que, a apenas duas quadras, há um edifício-garagem chamado Market, onde a diária de 24 horas sai por 25 dólares o que é uma grande economia.

Naked individuals arguing with themselves, human feces on the sidewalks, stepping around people sleeping on the sidewalks; it was very uncomfortable. Business owners need to address this with the city.

• Brant (6/5): Clean, Good Location, but Small and Average Overal - The rooms were very clean but extremely small, with no drawers or storage beyond a few hooks. The bathroom looked trendy but had square toilet seats, which weren’t very comfortable. We had a small hiccup at check-in—while we didn’t expect the room before the official 4 PM time, the hotel’s system asked for our arrival time and promised a text when the room was ready. We never received one until after we’d already checked in, which made the offer feel unnecessary. That said, staff were friendly and stored our bags, which we appreciated. The location in the Gaslamp Quarter is excellent and makes it easy to get around, though city-view rooms do come with some road noise (which we expected). There’s a bar downstairs, but we found the drinks overly sweet. Overall, for the price, the hotel felt average—clean and in a great spot, but with small rooms and limited amenities, and there are nearby options we’ve enjoyed more.

It’s a great vibe, playful themed with games, I love how we check in at the bar and get a complimentary drink. The room was clean, very modern and the deposit for incidentals was $20 per night, wow! The valet service was a bit slow, but the attendant was so nice and apologetic. I loved my stay at the Moxy, I’ll definitely be back. I’ll also recommend it to family & friends.

Small, cozy and has everything you need. - Loved that the Moxy is located in the middle of everything which allows you to walk everywhere including Petco Park. In addition, the room is small but very cute and cozy! Loved it! They charge $70 valet parking. You can either pay that or park down the street on Market for $20 over night.
• Karan (2/5): - I had a very disappointing experience at the Moxy Hotel in the Gaslamp District, San Diego. On my first night, the toilet wouldn’t stop flushing after being used. I managed to get some rest despite the noise, and the next morning I asked for it to be repaired. I was told “engineering” would handle it while I was out for the day. When I returned late that evening, the toilet was still not fixed, and no one at the front desk answered the phone. I endured another sleepless night because of the constant noise. The following morning, I requested a refund for one night from the manager, Luis. At first, he admitted he would normally agree but claimed he couldn’t process it since I had booked through Expedia. Expedia, however, confirmed that they would issue the refund if the hotel approved it. When I explained this to another receptionist (Leon), I was told that Luis had no intention of authorizing it. Instead, Luis repeatedly offered Marriott points, which I declined, as I do not use points to book. Overall, the lack of responsiveness, unaddressed maintenance issues, and refusal to provide fair compensation made this a very negative stay.

• Amanda (3/5): I wouldn't stay at this property again. - The location was great. The lighting in the room was awful. Outlets on the right side of the bed as well as a lamp in the room didn't work. The shower didn't drain properly and there was no body wash in the shower.
• Gena (8/5): - The actual hotel itself is good. Not great but good. Very minimalist for sure. Two caveats: parking and surroundings. Do yourself a favor and use a parking app to buy parking at a close structure. You’ll save tons. Also, be forewarned that the surrounding streets, in certain directions, have a fairly high number of unhoused people. Probably wouldn’t stay here again more due to the area and parking difficulties than the hotel itself. Would rather stay in a different area of San Diego.
