Pippa (9/5): A gem in Fergana Valley, Kokand - This was a wonderful hotel with fabulous staff - top level service, good English all round, helpful with luggage, questions, restaurant service etc. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the hotel and stayed for lunch in the garden. The garden is a lovely spot to relax with the sound of the birds, even in March. The hotel organised us a good driver with safe car for two days trips to Rishtan and Margilan. There is a short walk to the Khan palace and park. Lots of good cafes / restaurants in short walk. We stayed with our young daughter so Amina Dreamland softplay just a short 10-15min walk away was a fun perk! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We did some laundry here, it was a little expensive but was cleaned and ironed well. Breakfast was delicious and had good variety each day. We were really happy for the four nights we stayed. Nothing

The Silk Road Hotel is almost in the "middle", with the Palace of Khudayar Khan a 15 mins walk just down the road. Staff at the hotel is friendly and very helpful with making (travel) arrangements. Chambre impeccable, et nous avons été surclassés. C'était sympa ! Petit déjeuner parfait, très bon et super service ! Possibilité de réserver des excursions ! Très mauvaise insonorisation: bq de bruit dans la chambre au dessus de la nôtre (cris, déplacements de meubles, portes). Nous avons du le signaler en plein nuit au gardien, à 2h du matin... Nous avons organisé une excursion à partir de Kokand, vers Bog'dod, Richtan et Marguilan... Nous avons regretté que notre chauffeur ne parle ni russe, ni anglais....

Petra (10/5): Tolles Haus im Ferganatal - Ein wirklich stilvolles, sauberes und rundum geschmackvolles Haus. Man stellte uns ein riesiges Zimmer mit einem überdimensionalen Wohnbereich zur Verfügung. Alles war blitzblank, einzig und allein die verfärbten Fugen im Waschbecken haben den Gesamteindruck gemindert. Das Zimmer ging zur HaupStraße hin und war schon recht laut, wenn man es bevorzugt, bei geöffneten Fenster zu schlafen. Es wurden Bademantel und Hausschuhe bereitgestellt. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, auf Wunsch wurden Rühreier und Omelette serviert. Wie bereits mehrfach beschrieben ist der gewünschte Cappuccino, Espresso etc.extra zu bezahlen. Nescafé gibt es kostenlos. Der Frühstücksraum ist gemütlich mit Polstermöbel eingerichtet und lädt zum verweilen ein. Auch das Abendessen wird geschmacklich überzeugend serviert. Die Preise sind den deutschen Preisen ähnlich, also es ist nichts überteuert. Auch der Alkohol, der angeboten wird, entspricht deutschen Preisen; auf Wunsch kann das Frühstück im angrenzenden Garten eingenommen werden. Die Lage selbst ist etwas außerhalb, aber in 20 Minuten sind die Sehenswürdigkeiten wie der Palast, die Freitags Moschee oder die Matrase zu Fuß zu erreichen. Menschen mit körperlicher Beeinträchtigung sollten berücksichtigen, dass das Haus über keinen Fahrstuhl verfügt. Dafür ist das Hotel Personal indes über obligatorisch engagiert, trägt einem die Koffer sogar bis in den zweiten Stock. Parkplätze stehen direkt vor dem Hotel kostenlos zur Verfügung. Geld kann zu guten Konditionen im Hotel getauscht werden. Hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit des gesamten Personals, sowohl im Restaurant Bereich als auch an der Rezeption und im Service. Andrea (10/5): - Wir haben uns in diesem Hotel sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Service aller Mitarbeiter ist hervorragend. Wir haben uns 2 Transfers und einen Tagesausflug vom Hotel organisieren lassen. Die Kommunikation vorab ist sehr freundlich und alles hat wunderbar geklappt. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in der Nähe.Das Bett ist das bequemste was wir in ganz Usbekistan hatten. Das Superior Zimmer ist sehr großzügig und der Blick in den Garten sehr schön. Es ist alles sehr sauber und das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen. Es war unglaublich nett und wir können dieses Hotel wärmstens empfehlen.

Carmen (10/5): Fantástica estancia - Es un bonito hotel con buena ubicación. Tenía reservada una habitación más económica y nos dieron una habitación de clase superior. La habitación es muy amplia y tiene cortinas que evitan el paso de la luz, en este país no es habitual. El baño está muy limpio, la ducha tiene muy buena presión y siempre hay agua caliente. La limpieza, en general es excelente. Las camas son muy cómodas, tipo occidental. El personal es muy amable, en recepción hay un chico que habla inglés. El desayuno está bien.

Gerhard Grassl (9/5): Eine gute Wahl - Schönes Hotel mit angenehmen Park ähnlichen Garten hinter dem Haus. Frühstück vielleicht nicht das tollste, aber man findet alles was man braucht. Nur löslicher Kaffee, Kaffee aus der Maschine kostet extra. Sehr gute Betten, die nicht so hart waren. Es können Touren bzw. Transfers über das Hotel zu günstigen Preisen gebucht werden. Beispielsweise war unsere Abholung ab Flughafen Taschkent billiger, als wenn wir es über Yandex gebucht hätten. Personal spricht durchgehend englisch, nur sind sie vom Typ her eher leise. Geld kann zum offiziellen Kurs gewechselt werden, das Hotel dürfte sich nur eine sehr kleine oder gar keine Provision abziehen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden wieder buchen Wenn man etwas finden möchte dann vielleicht die hohen Preise an der Bar für alkoholische Getränke. Da Usbekistan aber ein muslimisches Land ist, darf man das nicht so eng sehen.

Devora (8/5): Good, clean accommodation in Kokand. - We were upgraded to a junior suite which was spacious. Beds were okay (a bit on the soft side for us). Shower strong and hot. Staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast has lots of room for improvement. The options weren’t interesting or presented well (cold fried eggs for example). Also, we ate dinner here one night and although the food was tasty, we felt it wasn’t good value (especially the alcoholic drinks).

Le personnel est très à l'écoute de nos remarques et demandes. Les bruits du couloir qui résonnent jusque dans les chambres quand certains clients se croient seuls dans l'hôtel. Le personnel pourrait à cet égard se permettre de rappeler les règles de base à ces mêmes personnes ainsi que pendant le petit déjeuner.

Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great I asked reception if they could help us with getting a ride to the border. The staff promised answers a couple of times and then didn't have them. Perhaps it was a language issue but if that was the case we needed to know. We eventually were told that they could arrange a driver for us. The price was much higher than Yandex but we decided to use him because it was promised that he was a good driver and would be careful. However he was not careful and we spent most of the time straddling the centre line of the road, passing people. I would advise people to use Yandex. Much cheaper and surely just as safe.

Very spacious and comfortable, with good air conditioning, a fridge in the room and English-language TV channels (and not just CNN, but BBC World too 😊) Pleasant garden to have dinner in after dark.

Susan (10/5): A very pleasant and comfortable place to stay. - Everything was great - the room was spacious, very clean and comfortable, with plenty of storage space, a sofa, two armchairs, a beautiful rug on the floor, good lighting, bedside tables as well as a small round coffee table and desk with a chair. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was good. The air conditioning was efficient, but it was also possible to open the (mosquito-netted) windows, which gave out onto the garden, with a view of an enormous new mosque in the distance. The staff were very professional, as well as being helpful and friendly; they came to collect us at the station and arranged a car for a trip to Margilon and Rishton, as well as a taxi to the station when we left. The breakfast was very good, with a wide range of delicious dishes, and could be eaten either in the restaurant or in one of the small covered pavilions in the garden. The restaurant also provides lunch and dinner (for an additional, though not expensive, charge), which we ate in the very pleasant atmosphere of the garden. The location of the hotel is good, not far from the Khan’s palace and the other sights of Kokand. We were able to walk everywhere. While the restaurant food was good, the menu for lunch and dinner was always the same, so it became a little monotonous and there was very little choice of vegetarian dishes. We suggested to the hotel manager that they offer more vegetarian dishes and possibly change the menu from day to day, offering fewer dishes, but overall greater variety.

Paulina (10/5): Pure excellence and amazing kindness! - Throughout our two week long stay in Uzbekistan it was the best hotel experience. The hospitality of people in Fergana Valley is legendary, but Silk Road is something extraordinary. Perfect customer service, always ahead of any needs you may have, with heartwarming kindness and smiles. We’ve been served early breakfast because of our morning train (a delicious treat, loved the tiny pancakes with cottage cheese), and the hotel offered free tranfer to the railaw station (10 minutes drive). We’ve enjoyed a wonderful evening in the hotel garden with complimentary set of fruits and delicious Uzbek dinner (do try mastawa soup and the local riesling!). The room was super comfortable and spacious, lush design, huge shower, very comfortable beds and pillows, big windows with garden view and the mosque in the horizon. The hotel is just a nice walk away from the palace and the Juma Masjid, placed in a quiet area. With hordes of birds hiding in the trees at sunset. We couldn’t possibly expect more and we were deeply impressed with the quality Silk Sand offers in every aspect.

We had drinks and a lovely dinner in their beautiful garden. Breakfast offered a good variety but coffee was charged extra. Attentive and friendly staff. Wifi was a little weak.
