Guest Reviews
- Moncef (6/5): - Was okay
- Tim (10/5): - Great hotel
- Simon (2/5): - Thank you for your response regarding my recent complaint about the Voyage Hotel. I would like to emphasize that the issues I experienced were entirely due to Expedia’s decision to include this hotel in your vendor listings and advertise it as a suitable accommodation. Presenting a hotel in this manner, when it clearly fails to meet basic standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism, is misleading to customers and effectively induces them to make bookings under false pretenses. As a reputable business, Expedia has a responsibility to ensure that the properties it promotes maintain acceptable standards. Misrepresenting this hotel in your listings is not acceptable and directly caused the inconvenience and distress I endured. I firmly believe that issuing a full refund for the charges incurred is not only justified but is also the best way to protect Expedia’s reputation and demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction. I am confident that Expedia would prefer to resolve this matter promptly, rather than risk me sharing my experience and thoughts about this incident on social media and other public forums.

- Mohamed (10/5): - Nice place
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Our room was small but clean, AC worked just fine. It is loud there but with ear plugs you’ll be fine. Keep in mind if you book with Expedia there’s a 100$ cash deposit up front but you’ll receive it at check out. If you’re using the subway it’s about a 15 min walk from the nearest station. Overall, our stay was pretty good for the price!

Check-in and Staff:
Upon arrival, I found the front desk staff to be a bit standoffish, which initially made me feel unwelcome. However, by my last day, the clerk had warmed up considerably and was much friendlier.
Hotel Conditions:
The hotel's conditions were fair, though it could definitely benefit from some updating.
Deposit Policy:
A notable point of concern for me was the hotel's deposit policy. They only accepted cash deposits, which I found unusual. The deposit amount varied: $50 for direct bookings and "travel velocity" bookings, and $100 for Expedia bookings. While the deposit was fully refunded upon check-out, the cash-only requirement was a bit strange.
Overall:
Ultimately, you get what you pay for at the Voyage Hotel. I went in without high expectations and was pretty satisfied with my stay.
- Phillip (2/5): - The room was dirty, small and outdated, and there were a number of different colored hair strands on my sheets. It felt very gross, I checked out early and found a new hotel, especially after I saw multiple reports of bed bugs at the hotel in the last 3 months.
- Yomaira (6/5): - Okay
- Daniel (10/5): - Very good relationship between price and benefits
- Mark (8/5): Not great not terrible - Overall, I think this hotel is a good choice. I had to switch rooms twice—my first room was on the first floor with windows that wouldn’t close, and the second room had an AC that didn’t cool properly. Aside from these issues, the location is excellent, with easy access to public transportation, and my experience was generally positive. With some improvements to maintenance, this could be an outstanding stay.
- Dion Frederick (8/5): - Not would i expected. Pipes on the side of the road not much to do. No pool to go in. The restaurant on the side of the building is ok i tried it and love the food. All around the area is body work shop could use some shopping stores to buy clothes and tennis and sovereigns. Its was ok quiet but could improve more. I came from the Bahamas and i work in the hotel field for over 20 years and i was not really impressed with the rooms not microwave in the room u have to come out your room to go to the front of the front desks to use the microwave there are no place to get ice if u need ice u have to call the front desk and u have to go to the basement to get ice. Me and my wife came from all the way from the Bahamas. The areas are run down and abandoned. No night clubs in the area neither sports bar. For what we paid i really thought it would be better. To be honest i think i will not returned to your hotel it really u guy offer nothing for your costumer to enjoy. I wanted to spend my money with you but you didnt had nothing to offer . No iron in the room. I really appreciate the maid services. But your hotel need more amenities. We spent alot of money to say their but was not impressed at all.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Odd way to run business - It wasnt bad, the issue with that hotel is there ws hardly anyone at the front desk. They had a phone number at the desk that no one ever answered. Luckily another guests saw me waiting and informed me to go across the street as the receptionists runs both hotels by themselves.
- Matthew (6/5): Meh - Cigarette burns on comforter, tiny room, slow elevator, mold in shower, $60 cash deposit required
- Nakaia (2/5): - Overcharged for this rinky dink hotel NO PARKING and be ready to leave a CASH deposit
- Michael (8/5): Affordable - Great service, Queens is a little spicy..locals told us to watch out, and keep our belongings safe.. poor area, doesn’t mean people are automatically bad..they just gotta eat. If you’re scared, dont go. If not? Then why not? Cheap, 10 minutes from train. Give it a go.
- Emmanuel (10/5): - Travelled with my partner, the hotel is in excellent condition, staff is very useful. Bad reviews are probably due to the area which to me felt like a regular Queens area; the Queensbridge projects section is more unpleasant, but it is away from the hotel.
- karan (10/5): - It was a nice hotel except for the area.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Weird cash deposit required, super inconvenient. - Did not enjoy, hotel was fine, disliked the cash deposit especially since I reserved in advanced and paid in full ahead of time. Area was not the best. Would not recommend.
- CARLOS (4/5): - Area very noisy, police, cars passing fast, fights and with many people living in cars. Maybe a little far from the stations to walk at night around the hotel area. If you want to stay in a quiet place this is not the best.
- Angela (10/5): Clean and Peasant - Clean, for sure. Did see a crack on the shower wall. They do need side tables for us who like to put our tea or drink beside us while on the bed watching.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - nothing
- craig (10/5): - Hotel met and exceeded expectations.
- Ariadna Estefania (6/5): - The hotel is good for the price, however the zone is not the best, it can feel a little bit unsafe.
- Christopher (10/5): - I’d happily stay at the Voyage hotel again, it was a quiet and issue free stay.
The staff were efficient and courteous, as for the location it offered lots in regard places to eat, general shopping and coffee.
The transport links were handy if you wanted to to travel into manhattan too.
My bed was pretty superb also👍👌
- kellyann (8/5): - It was ok for the night
- Marcela (8/5): - The hotel was clean ,the staff was okay the room has the essentials, my room was cleaned every day , not the beast area around the neighborhood but I didn’t have any bad incidents or felt threatened , the metro station is about 10 min walk
- Kamilla (8/5): - Nice hotel with friendly staff, but my room was not very clean. I found some hair in the bathtub and a tissue left from the previous guest. The bed linen also had an old smell. The location is good, only about a 10-minute walk to the subway.
- Isaiah (2/5): - I have never left a review in my life, but here we go– before we arrived, we called and asked if we could check in our bags early, leave, and come back and they said we could. when we arrived he told us we could just leave them out in the lobby… the dirty, unkept lobby. we reluctantly left our luggage with them, because what else were we supposed to do?
5hrs later, at check-in, our bags were still left alone, which is good, but we were surprised by a cash deposit of $100 because we booked through expedia (which we were worried about whether or not we’d be getting it back). when we went to our room, it was filthy. dirt, red candle wax and other stains all over the floor. the bathroom was almost entirely unkept; dirty sink, counter stains, and dirty tub.
my wife kindly went downstairs and requested our room get cleaned once more, but they just gave us another room key instead.
i went to inspect the new room while my wife started gathering our things to move. when i came back, the cleaning staff, clearly pissed off, was already in the room cleaning before we could even get our things. as we watched them clean the room, (this is where it gets rough y’all) they: moped with a totally dry mop, “swept” without a dustpan, just moving it all around, then sprayed lysol and left. okay? needless to say we figure out why our rooms were as gross as they were.
in terms of location, it’s pretty rough. it’s a 15min walk to the nearest subway, and the walk itself is pretty sketch.
- Isaac (8/5): - Good Front Desk
- Asreil (8/5): - It would be nice if the rooms had an electric kettle or coffee maker.
- sagrado (2/5): - The room had many things broken, for example the air conditioning control, you don't know if you're pressing the heater, fan, or air conditioning function. And everything is dirty, it seems like they don't clean the rooms when people leave. We found hair on the sheets. The good thing is that we were only there one night.
- Jason (6/5): - It had an ice machine.
- Suelly (6/5): - Hotel deposit is cash only but they have an atm by the front desk.
- Shameika (10/5): Great hotel - The trip was amazing the hotel was great especially for the price. It was clean and quiet coffee shop right next door and not to far from subway. The bed was a little small to be a queen but other than that everything else was great.
- Linda (6/5): - The room locked and the AC worked. That is all that was pleasant about this hotel. The are feels a bit unsafe. It is a few blocks from the subway. There are some food options nearby and a lot of people just loitering in the streets.
- Salah (4/5): - The hotel and the staff were very good but there is no breakfast. No coffee, water, or tea in the room. Home service was good. The hotel is expensive considering having no breakfast or other facilities.
- Bilal (2/5): - Nothing unique about it
- seo young (2/5): - I was asked to make 100 USD cash deposit. I asked why not credit card and the person at the counter said it was already informed through expedia. I have booked hundreds of times through expedia and has always made deposits with credit card.
In the end we ended up checking in without the cash deposit but we got the worst room possible. I took pictures of the room condition.
Dirty bed sheet, broken a/c and very very loud noisy room with no sound proof.
Do not book this property.... worst ever. I have lots more to say but ill keep it at this since its waste of my time
- Adil (10/5): - It was a great stay, location is nice, the staff is friendly and helpful. The subway are a small walk away from the hotel. Defintely staying here again if I have to.
- Barbee (10/5): - Very clean. Everything is new. Very friendly staff
- Leonardo (4/5): - Don't like it
- Chime (6/5): - -
- Mark (8/5): - Everything was fine
- aaron (10/5): - The fact that this is so close to Manhattan is great in itself. Anybody saying that this is in an unsafe area is either exaggerating or stereotyping because there happens to be 2 project buildings next to it.
- Mouctar (2/5): - The Room woes not cleane
- Joseph (10/5): - Good hotel for just a short stay, clean and quiet
- Norval (6/5): - The property overall was good; however, the sheets were not fresh and had stain.
The surrounding area is terrible.
- Ariel (10/5): - Increíble
- Baraka (8/5): - Quiet area and the rooms are clean.
- Julius (8/5): - Stay was relatively quiet & comfortable.
- Albert (6/5): - Noisy, messy rooms, dirty sheets, no shampoo lol, no parking, no options for parking 0 communication avoid if you need to rest!
- Abd (10/5): - The stay there was peaceful room was clean
- Gerasimos (2/5): - Heard four fireworks at night, Turns out it was not fireworks... Staff consistently corrected me during interactions which I found obnoxious especially over trivialities. Lastly, bathroom had dirt marks in tub and hairs on toilet seat before we entered.
- Renato (8/5): Nice, clean, full blast nice AC in summer! - Although our first night was somewhat scary because the next room guests were rowdy and noisy, police came in but resolved. Otherwise, the ensuing two nights were really calm.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was small and cramped where the desk and bed were when using the roll out chair. The location is close to Manhattan with a 10 minute walk to the 21 Queensborough subway station. The neighborhood felt largely industrial.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close enough to metro and bus routes that I did not need to do ride share. I think it's one of the few times my patronage was the only thing that mattered to the staff. My presence wasn't questioned, I was able to either leave my bags or check in early. The rooms were quiet and I'm not sure I heard much commotion from other guests either. Always a hello or goodbye from the staff. This will become my best kept secret when I visit NYC... with the exception of this public post.
- Eliud (10/5): - The attention was very good and easy
- Silviano (2/5): - Tried to get help to cancel my reservation because I made a mistake on the date and they didn't want to cancel it i just wanted to change the date for a different day
- Ryan (2/5): Terrible policy - Entire trip was cancelled due to "no show" policy with no refund even though i called the night before to explain that my flight was cancelled.
- JULIO (8/5): - Not a great area but close to the train station about a 15 minute walk. The only downside was they require $100 deposit in cash and you have to use the machine so I didn’t have $100 in cash. the machine charge with two different charges, which I am disputing with the bank.
- Caina (8/5): - .
- Aurea E.Amaro (10/5): - Very close transportarion ,is good cleaning THE rooms
- Valentina (10/5): - Everybody was so nice and the stay was great. Perfect location to everything.
- Jinita (4/5): - My room door was left open till late at night after the housekeeping semi cleaned the room. Upon complaining to the management and asking to speak to the owner who seemed least interested in speaking to the client. Or even apologizing.
Would not recommend staying at this hotel!!!
- ida (10/5): - Nice
- Keston (8/5): - You get what you pay for. A budget friendly hotel near Manhattan. The room was tidy but not super clean. The floors were a bit sticky. Bathroom was great.
- Matt (2/5): - Left after one night even though I paid for two.
- Steve (10/5): - Exactly the room I needed. Great location to the event I was attending and easy access to public transportation.
- Nava (2/5): - Horrible service
- Joel (6/5): - Unexpected requirement of cash deposit.
- Sowmya (10/5): - The area felt unsafe in the night but the hotel was good
- Huseyin (6/5): - It's in between poor and average.
- Mari (4/5): - It was a pretty okay stay, the bathroom had mold and the location isn’t very good. If you aren’t a native New Yorker it would be very confusing and inconvenient. The area is pretty sketchy and scary at night. Would not recommend to someone visiting for vacation.
- Briddy (2/5): - The room and restroom smelled like pee. There was construction right outside our window. And people taking the whole time even in the am hours
- Min Phone (10/5): - They do the daily cleaning either we are in the room or not. But there is not lost items during the stay and they return me a full deposit amount. Nice stay!
- Crystal Carolyn (6/5): - Dirty linen and sheet
- Dorna (4/5): - The building is so old.The sheets and comforter were worn out.I could feel dust when I was touching surfaces in my room.
There was no plastic glass in the room pr at the entrance. There was no bottled water in the room.
- Matthew (2/5): - I traveled across the country. When I showed up, I was informed my room had been sold and there was no room available. I am partially responsible as admittedly I did not inform the hotel I would be arriving late. I take responsibility for that. I followed up to ask for even a partial refund. The manager would not even take my call and deferred to his employee the front desk clerk to manage my issue. It is not right for the hotel to collect money from 2 guests for the same room. Shame on Voyage Hotel. This is a greedy practice and a scam for a low-quality hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE.

- Elizabeth (8/5): - Positives:
-Clean/Safe enough
-Fast check in
-Walking distance to Roosevelt Island bridge
-Affordable
Negatives:
- $100 cash deposit (I did receive it back next morning though)
-I didn’t have a fitted sheet on my bed. It was a top sheet on the bottom and just a thin blanket on top. No real sheets.
- There was a black plastic bag wrapped around the smoke detector in my room and it slightly smelled like cigarettes. I let front desk know it was like that as soon as I arrived so that it wasn’t going to come out of my deposit.
-Broken desk (pic)
- Ramela (2/5): - This place is absolutely filthy. Do yourself a favor and don't book it. And honestly, think twice before using Expedia either. They were no help when I needed a refund. I expected better from both the property and the platform.
- aaron (2/5): - Dirty room, double bed instead of queen. Bad neighborhood.
- Ram Naresh (6/5): - price was very reasonable. Cleaning was good. Need a microwave and a coffee maker in each room.
- Nader (10/5): - It was nice according to the price
- Ralph (10/5): - Once I got inside I felt safe. Was surprised at the $100 CASH only deposit. I’m used to doing that on a card but not with cash. Maybe I just missed it if it was on the website.
Overall, I might stay here again. Decent price for a good nights sleep.
- Marcondes (8/5): Good stay close to Manhattan - It was an amazing stay and the staff super friendly. I was just caught off-guard with the $60 cash deposit. They have an ATM there so you can withdraw but there’s a fee.
Other than that the location is good, not far from the F train, close to the city and amenities are within walking distance. Bed was comfortable and the shower was a treat.
- Abib Berhanu (10/5): - I have a good time with Voyage
- Justin (10/5): - Great
- Alexis (10/5): - Well the place is good! Around is little bit noisy!but for the rest is good, well the privacy have to improve a little be more, i can hear the elevator every time someone goes down or up! And is a little annoying in the night!
- Verified traveler (4/5): smh - they was doing construction work early in the morning loud as hell and the sensor light in the room kept turning on and people upstairs was stomping on the floor loud at night
- Glen (8/5): - It was good for the price
- Rosa (10/5): - Greeted politely by the front desk. Walking distant to subway and eateries. Very pleased.
- Alexandru (10/5): - Mehhh
- Tracy (2/5): Never come back - Terrible :(
The neighborhood is sketchy. Weed smells everywhere. Construction is right outside the door so it's so noisy.
The room is bare minimum. Location is 2/10; Cleanliness is 4/10.
And make sure you have cash for deposit.
- Kirk (8/5): - Very nice and quiet
- Bjoern (10/5): - Easy street parking. Please be aware that 60
- Jane (10/5): - That's okay
- Jennifer (10/5): - Quiet location and clean
- rosemind (8/5): - The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel! Soft yet not moving as it sits on a platform. So comfortable!!
- Luis (10/5): Good hotel but unsafe surroundings - The hotel was good but the area is unsafe. My car was opened and stole my stuffs, parked in front of the main entrance of the hotel, despite their security cameras.
