• Pauline (7/5): - L’emplacement en haut de jiuefen, la chambre bien décorée et immense, la terrasse avec la vue sur jiuefen L’entrée dans le bâtiment est très compliquée heureusement qu’il y avait d’autres voyageurs qui nous ont donné le code de l’entrée principale. La douche n’était pas au niveau de la chambre. Minuscule et pas d’espace dédié c’est un flexible dans un petit espace sanitaire lavabo avec une prise dans le mur.
• Jia (8/5): Good value and good spot to explore Jiufen from - - I liked the view - I liked the location but it was quite a few steps up (~10-15 minutes) with our heavy luggage (I did not get the memo to leave my luggage at the bottom/don't bring luggage) - It wasn't the easiest hotel to get to but fine once we had settled in - I found the online check-in a bit clunky and would have preferred a person checking us in

Superbe vue sur la mer au loin, surtout depuis la terrasse commune et la salle de repas japonaise. A 1' du stand de Taro balls du Michelin. Proche des celebres maisons de thé et à 5' de la rue commercante principale. Assez diificile d'accès en haut de la ville, le chauffeur de taxi n'etait pas très content de s'aventurer dans les rues etroites pour nous deposer en bas de l'hotel. Check in en ligne, ca manque d'humain. Douche innonde les toilettes, une raclette à minima serait la bienvenue.

• Tabea (6/5): - Der Blick, wenn das Wetter gut gewesen wäre, ist schön. Das Hotel liegt insgesamt sehr hoch. Wir kamen bei Regen an, weshalb das komplizierte Check-In noch störender war. Es dauerte länger bis wir erst einmal im Haus waren. Dann nochmal solange bis der QRCode für die Zimmertür funktionierte... sehr stressig. Dann funktionierte das WLan nicht. Außerdem war Frühstück in den Bewertungen empfohlen, was es dann auch nicht gab. Also alle positiven Bewertungen für das Hotel haben dazu geführt, dass wir enttäuscht wurden. Morgens war es außerdem sehr früh sehr laut. Insgesamt ist es zu empfehlen, falls man viel Gepäck hat, ein Taxi von der Bushaltestelle zu nehmen, da man sonst sehr viele Stufen mit dem Gepäck nach oben muss.

Not suitable for someone with mobility issues…lots of stairs!

• Jane (3/5): Do not stay here, especially if you don’t read Chinese or if you want any kind of service. - The room was itself very good, large and comfortable The bathroom is atrocious, very old and decrepit without a proper shower. The vanity was coming apart and the shower has just been added to make it a ‘private’ bathroom to sell it as such. The shower was an add on without a shower recess, no curtain, no sectioning off and what appeared an electrical outlet right next to the shower pole. If you had a shower, whilst running the risk of electrocution, you also made the entire bathroom wet. The check-in process was also terrible, they’re using a completely online check-in which might work well if you speak and read Chinese but if you don’t you need to hold up one phone with google translate to translate what is on the screen to try and do the process to get a QR code. If you do need help, they say please contact them but they don’t help. I ask for a base for the kettle so we could actually use the kettle to boil water but no response. Person less check in also means no person on site to do anything for you or provide any kind of service for the good money you pay. That also results in no kind of cleaning or topping up of toilet paper during your multi night stay. Make sure you don’t need to use the toilet too much cause there’s no bidet, no toilet paper down the toilet and no emptying of the bathroom bin whilst you’re there. I have said the room itself was good, well decorated, comfortable and very large however there was also a decent size window without a blind or curtain which let in the night light making it hard to sleep and also no fridge, no working kettle, no supplies and no TV. I do not recommend this hotel.
• Tan (2/5): Very poor experience - This is a very poor experience. 1) They never respond to my messages, not even once. 2) The email explained how to check in but did not include the link to complete the check procedures. 3) The bathroom cannot be used for showering. 4) The electric kettle is not working. 5) If you want to store your luggage in advance, you can only do so after 11am because there are no staff members before that time. This is very unsatisfactory for tourists who can stay for one night. Also, all doors open by QR code, so you can’t leave your luggage there once you check out. 6) Do not recommend this place. Will not stay here again in the future.

• Nancy (8/5): Quit an experience. Ah Mei Tea House lunch was delicious. - Great location. Right off the Jiufen stairs with red lanterns display along the stairs. Staffs were very helpful with our luggage as there are steps to get to the entrance of Dragon Inn. Breakfast room with the view was a bonus. Make sure to hire a car/taxi to drop off/pickup at the school next door to skip lugging the luggage up the stairs from the bottom of the hill. couldn't flush toilet paper due to weak sewage system within the mountain.

• Andrew (7/5): Nice property, but issues with access - It is perfectly located at the higher end of town, so you have a great view and almost immediate access to the famous “Old Street”. It is also very clean and tidy. The check-in process was diabolical. This place has no staff, so they instead send you an email with a link so you can check yourself in. The link takes you through a process that ends in you getting a QR code, which is your key to the property and your room. However, the link in the email doesn’t work (I wasn’t the only one who had this issue). I only managed to access the property by following in an existing guest, who then forwarded the link to me that she had received. I could not get hold of the managers of the property at all (it took them nearly 6 hours to respond to my email and WatsApp). The issue with the QR code system in general is twofold: (1) if your phone battery dies, you have no access to the property! (2) the QR code expires at 11am on your day of checkout, so if you use the left luggage facility, you can’t get back in to the property to retrieve your luggage!

Al llegar, hicimos el check in y pagamos por el total de la estancia. Entonces nos comunicaron que no sirven desayunos. Además, no hay nadie en recepción y el check in (junto al pago) se deben hacer online. Para entrar al hotel y a la habitación se necesita un código QR que se actualiza cada 5 minutos. Si el móvil se te queda sin batería, ya no puedes entrar.

Among other things I had to wait in the rain for over 30 min until they opened the door for me only to find that my room was freezing cold (would guess around 12C). No apologies, nothing.
• Frank (7/5): Never again. So much time wasted with their QR code key system. - Location is great. View is great. Hot water is good. It's should be a 10/19 but they have a really bad QR code system for entering the building and your room. I saw three separate people have to be let in by other guests because there is no reception and the QR system, especially to enter your room, often doesn't work. I was locked out of the hotel for 25 minutes one night in the rain until another guest let me in. Later that same evening we let in a Japanese family that was also locked out in the rain. This is not acceptable to me. It's convoluted and the opposite of elegant. Have a reception! Have keys for your rooms! The QR code thing is super inefficient and makes the hotel seem cheap. I would never stay here again because of it. They are trying to save money by wasting your time with a half-ass*d technology that doesn't work well.

Quando ho prenotato ho trovato disponibile solamente la stanza “senza finestra”. Da sito sembrava un po’ più accogliente che dal vivo, fondamentalmente si trova nel seminterrato ed è molto umida. Era comunque pulita, però onestamente se avessi dovuto soggiornare più di una notte avrei chiesto di cambiare. Dalle foto sembrava ci fosse almeno un quadro a renderla più accogliente, invece purtroppo nulla.. le altre stanze però sembravano davvero molto belle!

• Boulová (8/5): Beautiful view, good food, loud nights - Location was very convenient! When walking on foot, you can comfortably turn left from the old street and you get to the hotel in about two or three minutes. Beautiful view from the dining area on the third floor, toast, brioche and congee with toppings for breakfast. Staff were helpful when we needed them, rooms were very clean. We seldom actually met somebody at the reception desk as the staff was busy elsewhere. The room's surroundings were quite noisy at night - apart from water pipes rattling whenever somebody flushed, we were each night woken up at least once by somebody having sex. It is an old village, though, so I don't imagine any other building in this area will be much better when it comes to soundproofing. The dining area can be crowded around 8:30.

The dining area was small but it was really charming and the view was just superb. The breakfast was decent too but will be nice if they have a variety each day. Overall. It was a pleasant stay for us! Its not the i didnt like it. While the place will give u a stunning view of the ocean - this is just a warning to everyone that there will be heaps of stairs! So be ready! But still. Its worth it.

• David M. (9/5): - The room was a little small, but given the reasonable price, that may have been unavoidable. The location is near perfect. It is just a short 3-minute walk to Jiufen Old Street. It has stunning views of the ocean, and a beautiful, active temple nearby gives you a sense of place. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. They not only helped us get a taxi to Taipei, but also helped us with our luggage and saw us off. 部屋は少し狭かったが、リーズナブルな価格を考えれば仕方ないかもしれない。立地はほぼ完璧だ。九份老街まで徒歩わずか3分。海の絶景が広がり、近くには美しい活発の寺院があり、その土地の雰囲気を感じさせてくれる。スタッフは知識豊富で親切だった。台北行きのタクシーを手配してくれただけでなく、荷物の運搬を手伝い、見送りまでしてくれた。

• JUNG CHUN (5/5): 住過一次經驗已足夠 - 無 1.乾淨度需加強：三樓用餐區-置放餐盤的櫥櫃沒有門、難保沒有蟑螂爬過、積灰塵ㄧ看久未擦拭2.早餐很簡單、只能說是吃個寂寞感
• Nattapoom (5/5): Perfect location, the place is a hostel, do not expect further - The place is 5 mins walk to a begining of the red lamp stair route. The room is smaller than expect and shown in the photos. We travelled with 2 medium size luggages which were challenge to unpack them together. During our stay, the hotel staffs were in a training so no breakfast was provided. The hotel offered 7-11 voucher value TWD 200 for 2 pax 2 nights which is quite short.
• Milan (9/5): Great location and view above Old Street - Great view (placed just up of Jiufen Old Street, so quiet location). Great common areas with nice views! Lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The room curtain was broken (could not open) which was a shame because the view was very nice.

• Jasmine (8/5): Gorgeous view despite rain, and really lovely hotel - When we went it was unfortunately raining, but the view was still worth it! It's up a lot of stairs, and Uber/maps will show you that cars can take you up there but they're wrong - you've gotta walk them all! Again, it's got a gorgeous view, was quiet, and the staff were very kind of accommodating. Aircon was very welcome on the hot nights. We slept in a bit too late to enjoy the full breakfast, but what we did manage to get was lovely. That space was also lovely. With fewer bags, I would absolutely stay there again. I think the bathrooms were a bit small, but that didn't impact our stay. I would stay here again for sure, but if you're traveling with big checked bags/more than a carry-on and a backpack each, I'd probably opt for somewhere less up the hill. It's very small and walkable, so it shouldn't impact what you see/experience.
