- Diana (10/5): - Breakfast was totally made from scratch. The best waffle we have eaten. A complete meal and sat an visited with us. Definitely a 10 star stay
- James R (10/5): - Andrew (our host) made us feel welcome. Rico is relatively close to Telluride, and the Mine Shaft Inn is certainly a better value for the money compared to anything you will find in Telluride.
- Andy (10/5): - Nice place, but it's up for sale. Hopefully it doesn't get more expensive after it sells.

- Yi (10/5): Great - Good owner, good mattress and good breakfast.
- Ron (4/5): - Nice property and very clean. However, the queen mattress needs to be replaced. It is very soft and has a huge ident in the middle. Worse night of sleep for my wife and I in years.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful bed and breakfast. Very clean rooms. 30 min. from Telluride.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful and historic decor - a cozy gathering room with a wood burning fireplace tended to by Andrew the host/owner. Communication about breakfast needs for each morning - whether I wanted it at 7:00 or 9am always accommodating. The ceilings in the guest rooms are at least 12 feet high with views of the surrounding area. Just a relaxing and charming place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was our first time staying at this property and we absolutely loved it! The hosts were very kind and friendly, we were served a delightful breakfast to our bedroom in the morning at a time we were able to choose! The property was authentic and the bed was amazingly comfortable!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Honeymoon Choice - It was perfect! The breakfast was amazing, the view from our room was spectacular! We even got bumped up to a bigger room because they weren't as busy! And for being an older building it was immaculately clean!
- Jaimee (10/5): - Spectacular staff and service. Hotel is very eclectic and unique as well comfortable.
- Alex (10/5): - Such a charming little hotel in a very small town. If you have the opportunity to stay here, I highly recommend it. Especially if it is the fall foliage season.
- Angie (10/5): - Everything was wonderful πΊ best comfortable bed π breakfast yummy π Good service π in the most important thing the priceπ I was able to celebrate my mother 83 years old π thank you so much πππ
- Tan (10/5): - Charming building, good location, excellent WiFi, a bit too expensive for a single
- Sue (10/5): - The building is beautiful with a lot of history.
- Debbie (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay. Andrew is an excellent host. He even hauled a bench to our room to put our luggage on. The Inn was clean and adhered to COVID-19 standards including wearing masks and decreasing the number of people staying.
- Ronald (8/5): Rico Colorado Vacation - The service was truly great and the room was very clean especially considering the covid virus situation.
We did not have a problem but some may have a problem with the steep and long stairs up to the upper floor.
- Stephen (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay here! Very hospitable. Lovely historic building...interesting ghost town feel. Breakfast was served in my room and it was delicious.
- Randi F (10/5): - Charming and off the beaten track.
- stpauljackson (10/5): - If you want to stay someplace cheaper than what is available in Telluride but is still fairly close, go to the Rico Mine Shaft Inn. The couple taking care of it fix a good breakfast, which is a part of the price paid. Just be prepared to climb stairs!
- Joseph (10/5): Hotel in the mountains - A great little hotel in a very small town within driving distance of Telluride
- Joseph (10/5): Great little Bed N Breakfast Hotel - The hotel is great for folks traveling to Telluride. We stayed for a week. At first, we were apprehensive because of the 1/2 to 45-minute drive to Mountain Village/Telluride. However, after making the drive, we were very glad we did. Driving the San Juan Skyway to and from Mountain Village and Telluride every day was beyond words beautiful. The surrounding mountains are majestic when covered in snow and one can only imagine what they would be like in summer. We loved the place. The hotel was originally built in the 1800s and has been put to a variety of uses over the years. The hoteliers were very friendly and accommodating and the place is beautifully decorated in antique style. Andrew helped us bring our bags upstairs when we arrived and he and Jordan took turns setting up a nice breakfast each morning. The mountain views were great from our window and from the kitchen and sitting room. Our kids enjoyed all the board games and my wife really appreciated the kitchen. We played a friendly game of chess and I won. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you are the type of person who wants to visit the area but doesn't want to spend 40k on your vacation.
- Joseph (10/5): Quaint - Nice. Friendly
- Joseph (10/5): Than you for the hospitality - 7 bedroom hotel in the mountains. It was very nice
- Zia (10/5): - Incredible hospitality!! We were blown away - Andrew gave us great local recommendations, delicious hot breakfast and beautiful historic inn. We will be back!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the homey breakfast and dining area, the plush carpet, and stove-heated room. Was cozy even in a snowstorm!
- Scott (10/5): - The art of hospitality is alive and well in this nicely appointed and very comfortable inn!
- Casey (10/5): Great Bed and Breakfast - Great place to stay outside Telluride. Quiet, friendly, great service. Highly recommended.
- Matthew (10/5): Local alternative worth the quick trip! - I was so pleased and impressed with the inn. The operator's hospitality made it feel like a home away from home. The inn itself is a gem of history and upon arrival a tour and quick history was provided. There were two dining options in town and both were excellent. The care and upkeep is obvious as other local alternatives in Placerville and such don't come close. This is definitely my choice for my next trip to the area. Thanks again!
