- Ileana (6/5): - Average hotel. I definitely had higher expectations based on reviews I read before booking. WiFi does not work. Stayed on the 11th floor and it was almost impossible to navigate the internet. Informed front desk about the issue. They installed a router in the room but it did not make any difference. The shower window was also leaking badly. We would get puddles of water under the toilet every time we would take a shower. Fitness Center equipment was in really bad shape as well. Parking is extremely limited. Five or six spots. If you can’t find one, you have to park on the street. Oh, and be prepared to pay $15,000 pesos for a bottle of water. They will not offer anything else. Disappointed! Not staying at this hotel again.

El hotel, está genial para solo ir a dormir. Repito, servicio y limpieza excelente.

As a Colombian national currently residing in the United States, I observed that the staff serving hot meals tended to prioritize requests from guests of different nationalities over mine. This led me to feel that my requests were overlooked. It is essential for all guests to receive equal treatment, especially considering that I was paying the same rate as everyone else. I believe that fostering an inclusive environment is vital for a positive guest experience. Thank you for considering my feedback.

- Vanessa (10/5): - This property was exactly what we needed! The rooms were spacious enough to comfortably accommodate three people, and everything was spotlessly clean. The rooftop gym offered incredible views, and there was even a steam room available (just ask the front desk to have maintenance turn it on). The on-site amenities included a restaurant with a bar and a cozy coffee shop, adding to the convenience. The entire facility was well-maintained, and the grounds were beautifully landscaped with lush fauna. We would definitely stay here again!

No shampoo, no soap the towels felt more like sand paper. The treadmill broken, steam room Broken. Made us wait for 2 hours to get an Avacado sandowixh which they got wrong by putting mayo and my daughter got rash after eating it when we are both vegan

Hotel could use some updates and attention to hospitality. Jacuzzi didnt seem to work well. There were amenities missing from room such as glasses to drink water or conditioner for hair in shower. Food from restaurant could use some attention in regards to breakfast variations. Same omelet ingredients and same fruits. At times food seemed to be old.

We told reception that we needed 3 towels, but still only 2. No glasses in the rooms, not even a cup in the bathroom. All in all we were not impressed, definitely the restaurant was the worst part.

- Jason (4/5): - I did not like that when I was in the elevator staff stop elevator to ask me my car plate number again even after I had already provided it at check in. There was not a good communication by staff.
- Heroll (8/5): - It’s a nice hotel that I’ve stayed in many times before. Unfortunately, the breakfast was mediocre at best. I used to love the variety and quality of the breakfast. I did not enjoy the things that they served during this visit. This was the smallest room they ever provided me and the most I’ve paid. Therefore, it was not a good experience for the first time in the last 5 years. For this kind of hotel, you would think a fridge in the room would be standard.
- Victoria (8/5): - The room was clean, well appointed, but a little small. The shower needs a shower wand or something other than the rainhead faucet so us ladies can clean up properly. Also, the rainhead is not good if you don't want to get your hair wet. You only get one room key and it must be placed in a slot to turn on the electricity. This is a nice ecofriendly feature, but not preferred. I don't want to be gone and come back to a hot room. Also, only having one key is not ideal. This seems to be common in Columbia though. We had breakfast at hotel restaurant and it was terrible. Bacon was burnt and all stuck together in a ball. Fruit was not ripe and so firm that I couldn't cut with a knife. Waffle and eggs were cold and it all took a long time considering we were the only one's there. It all tasted like they grabbed it off a buffet from downstairs. Service was not great either. They never came to ask how it was. I ordered a coffee that was supposed to have Bailey's in it, but there was none. I would never eat there again. I read food reviews later and it seems the food quality is not liked by many. Front desk staff and bell hop were all very nice. I love the area and the room has pretty views.

- Christopher (8/5): Would’ve been better without the extra fees. - My overall stay was nice, They need to make more clear the guest policy and fees on checkin since they charged me to bring a friend to my room. This hotel is not guest friendly.

Breakfast was ok (not the best) Only a couple of little things; we told them not to spray that coffee in the room and they did, asked again and they did it again, luckily it wasn’t as heavy as other people thinks. Also, those towels, be careful they can scratch your skin, just kidding but it need improvement. Thank you guys.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Not a VIP Hotel & the Coffee spray is terrible - I gave 2 stars more so because of the lack of service as a VIP member. We arrived about 5pm and shared with the front desk that we are excited about our visit to Medellin and the stay at the Cafe Hotel. I informed the front desk about our VIP status hoping for an upgraded room which was already a paid high end room. The upgrade never happened and we were given a room on the 3rd floor with a garden view. Once we were in the room, the staff sprays a 'coffee' or 'hazelnut' mist to freshen the room but its way too strong and started giving me a headache. Within a few minutes, I went back to the lobby to see if we could change rooms but that accommodation was not met. We asked that they not spray the room with the mist moving forward as it was too strong and not desirable. However over the following 3-day stay, they did not spray only 1 day but the other 2 days the scent was sprayed twice daily (once with housekeeping and another time in the evening). The hotel itself was OK. There was no small refrigerator or any complimentary water provided. They charged for water and even for cappuccinos/espressos at breakfast, even though breakfast was included with the room. As VIP members on Hotels.com, we were supposed to also receive 2 free drinks. Upon checking out, I had to ask about the free drinks as they charged for waters and cappuccinos at breakfast. They took off 2 bottles of water.

- Vivian (6/5): - Unfortunately is not the place I will go back to; the front desk staff looked lost 1/2 of the time, and my reservation was changed based on their accommodations, not on what I had initially booked. The pool area looked abandoned, and had no place to sit outside with shade. The gym had some old and broken equipment and looked unkempt. This super loud wall AC would self-turn off every night at 2:30s am (I am assuming to save electricity), making the room so stuffy and hard to sleep. And there was the math of the towels; 4 people do not equal 2-3 towels... but breakfast was nice.. no coffee machine in the rooms or fridge...

- Stuart (10/5): This hotel would be a bargain at twice the price!! - This hotel is amazing. The building is brand new and the rooms are spacious and modern. All of the staff were very helpful and polite and had patience as I practiced my Spanish. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the heart of Poblado so it’s very quiet but close enough to walk for a meal or a drink.

The building is fairly new and has a small river that crosses between the buildings and during the day you can open the balcony slider door and hear the water flow. The rooftop pool has an amazing view of the entire city it also has a Turkish bath and the amenities are very nice. The food at the restaurant was amazing. The location of the hotel is only minutes away from Provenza by taxi and it’s only a couple of bucks. I highly recommend this hotel for its location and safety plus the outstanding amenities in world class service
- Michelle (4/5): - Ads said we were going to get a room with 3 beds. Instead we got a room with 2 beds. The trash can lid was broken. We reported it and they didn’t change it. We asked the night shift for extra towels and they said the cleaning staff had left the building, which makes no sense.

- Aktham (10/5): Excellent location - This was one of the best Hotels we stayed at in Colombia. Perfect location, very close to the restaurants and bars but still in a nice elegant neighborhood, only 10 mins walk. We always Ubered going back only 0.25$. The room is very modern and the view is super nice from the balcony. Loved the smell of coffee all over the place. Breakfast was very nice and the atmosphere was excellent, I felt like I was sitting in upscale fine dining restaurant having breakfast. Nice relaxing music in the open air. Even my two years old daughter loved how fresh and delicious their food was. Absolutely recommend the place and the staff for any one to stay at. Aktham Sharaf

- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel for the value in nice area - Good hotel in a very quiet safe region, a 10 min walk from the restaurant area in El Poblado. Staff was very helpful and nice with any of our requests. You need to make reservations for the jacuzzi but the staff helps arrange this for you. Easy check-in. Room was clean and comfortable. The shower did not have a lot of hot water and water pressure though.

- Krinon Stephanie (6/5): - Loved the rooftop view! The jacuzzi is basically a tiny “pool” with swirly jets. It’s not a hot tub, just warm. Nice for 2-4 people max. Breakfast watermelon, pineapple, cereal and egg variety was nice. I couldve skipped the ham and cheese slice and gone for bacon or salchicha etc. Coffee was decent- not great which was a bummer as its a coffee hotel. The hotel is clean, upper room views are pretty. You can hear street noise and hear your neighbors through the walls so take note if youre a light sleeper. One of the younger reception guys was super helpful, howevr Danny, asked if my partner was a “guest” that wasnt staying at the hotel despite us having been there for several days which was odd. They also almost checked us out early despite having paid for our full stay because we had asked for a taxi to the airport for a shorter trip to a different city for a couple days which was also odd. Just uneccesary confusion and frustration. They did not honor orbitz VIP platinum room upgrade perks nor free drink or meal discount- huge bummer. I’d recommend good shower cleanings as our has black mold along the floor seam and it flared up allergies for me. A nice hotel however next time I’d stay at a different one closer to provenza street/ area.

- Paul (6/5): - The hotel is in a nice area, the Pablado Zone, and generally the area is peaceful. The housekeeping is fine, and the restaurant makes good food. But the hotel has defeciencies. For one, when I wanted my fiancée and her two sisters to visit my room on my first night in Medellin, I was challenged by a staff member. I was in disbelief. He tried to prevent them from entering, and as I stood there explaining that I had intentionally leased a large room with surplus capacity so I can spend time with them, he recited hotel policy. It was absurd. I finally told him we were all going to the room anyway, and we did. They stayed 90 minutes and left. The entire episode was unnecessary and set a very bad tone. The second thing was two suitcases were delayed reaching Colombia from Florida, and American Airlines arranged to deliver them the next day after they arrived in Jose Cordova Airport. I could not reach anyone at AmAir the next day and assumed my bags arrived and might be at the AmAir office. I hired an Uber and returned to the airport—only to discover the bags had been taken to the hotel! This is partially AmAir staff’s fault, but it appears the bags arrived at the hotel before I went to the airport. Why hotel staff did not alert me, I do not understand. The last thing is, the hotel can be very noisy in the early morning hours. It may have been the location of my room, but I heard everything happening around the first floor, mainly the restaurant, beginning at 6 a.m.

- Verified traveler (4/5): ☕️💨👃😵💫 - Who wants to sleep at Starbucks?! Literally every room is drenched in this obnoxious coffee odor. Sticks to furniture and clothes like cigarettes. What they’re marketing as a feature comes down to a forced perfume on guests. After opening balcony and bathroom windows- it didn’t let up. Our room wasn’t “sound proof” as advertised either. Right next to elevator where you could hear everything. We complained and they said all rooms were similar. After so much stress they wouldn’t even refund us the first night stayed. Had to call Expedia just to recover what remained. I’m willing to bet many dislike Cafe hotel’s “essence”. We both got headaches from it, couldn’t sleep and needed to wash our clothes afterwards. This property should have unscented rooms or fully disclose their dumb gimmick online. Not everyone wants to smell like coffee beans at bedtime.

I think they made a mistake since they gave me a new room after. Still, waited too long and was too tired. Pool was not open due to covid and they should have specified that (one of the main reasons I booked it was for the rooftop pool and views) Slightly disappointed.
