The rooms were amazing, the style just beautiful, bed comply, it was quiet, clean and just beautiful. Meals were great and staff so friendly and nothing was a trouble. I had a group of 8 people and all said it was their favorite place they stayed in Sri Lanka. Thank you so much! Highly recommend it and will return with my group next year

• Stephen (9/5): we loved this place and would recommend it to anyone! - the property is so full of character, yet manages to provide accommodation that is equivalent, or better, than many hotel chains. The setting around the courtyard was stunning and was close to the Fort itself and the shops/restaurants in the area. The evening we had a meal at the property we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of that also. the torrential rain that arrived on our first night 😂

I really enjoyed it, highlights for me: Very friendly and helpful staff Clean Nice decor Nice food Good location, 300m from the best spot to watch the sunset It is located close to the entrance to the Galle Fort. This means that you have a 5 minute walk (at the most) to the main shopping/restaurant area. I preferred that location because it felt more open and pleasant. Sitting in the outdoor lounge area at the front of the hotel was a pleasure. The general manager Mr Lakshyan was particularly pleasant and helpful which made me feel very comfortable, especially since I was a solo female traveller. Thank you again. Eleanor

• enrico (7/5): Cozy location for only those who sleep deeply - Great location for your stay. Cozy environment. You can hear across walls. We could literally follow the cricket match from the room above us. At the second complain, they finally proposed an upgrade to another room. However has to be said that we had requested a different room at check in, since once in we could hear from reception, but there were no options. We could have paid more for an upgrade if the option was presented and could been avoided the 11pm change. Poor judgement.

The staff were fantastic and made our stay all the more pleasurable. The food was excellent - we loved the breakfast, and the cake in our room for our honeymoon!

The food and service in the restaurant were both excellent with special mention for Farhath who was outstanding and was a master barista making the best flat whites we've had in a long time. Located in the beautiful walled city of Galle this hotel is a gem.

• aneirag (6/5): Basic but nice - This is a small hotel with quite basic rooms. The food was very good but had to be ordered in advance i.e. at breakfast, you have to select what you have for dinner and vice versa. Vegetarian options are very limited. Also, they do not hold a licence to sell alcohol, but apparently they will send staff out to a local shop to get beer if you want it. We didn’t use this service, so can't comment on it. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

• Rosedxb (10/5): Lovely small hotel in a quiet location - We had a great stay at Yara Galle. It is located in a quiet area, inside Galle Fort, yet minutes walk from attractions and restaurants. Staff were helpful via email when we messaged to book our room responding quickly to messages sent. They also arranged our transfers from the airport to Galle and then for our onward journey. Breakfast was plentiful and we also had lunch at the hotel before we moved onto our next hotel. We would stay again if we were back in Galle.

• Tilly (10/5): Beautiful boutique place to stay in Galle Fort - We stayed for just one night as a family of 4 at Yara Galle Fort. Our first impressions were that it is an incredible building which has been converted with the utmost care and consideration. We stayed in two separate rooms. The rooms were enormous, spacious and really tastefully decorated. We loved the attention to detail, especially the stunning antique necklaces framed above the beds! The bedding was lovely with crisp linens, soft dreamlike pillows and big fluffy towels! The showers were great too as were the complimentary toiletries in the cool bathrooms. The hotel also has really nice communal areas which just add to the boutique feeling. But the standout for us were the staff, especially Sagara and Nawodya who were always so super friendly and attentive (and helped us with our many bags!). The waiting staff in the restaurant were also really lovely and made us feel so welcome! We only ate breakfast in the restaurant and opted for the Sri Lankan breakfast which was delicious and filling! Would highly recommend and hope to return! Absolutely nothing

Highlights - The charm of this aesthetic hotel, the Dutch influence in Architecture and Interiors, the breakfast they served and most importantly the Service. It was a perfect wrap to our Sri Lanka experience.

• AnudeSilva (10/5): Nice Hotel in Galle Fort - This is a Boutique hotel inside the Galle Fort. Speciality of the hotels inside the Fort is, the unique designs of the Dutch heritage appearance. They have been classified as a heritage site and are restricted from any modifications to the building. Our room was #205 which was at the corner of the building. Generous size room and a small bathroom. It has been decorated with two unique necklaces framed and hung on the wall behind the bed. The restaurant is located just before the entrance, offering a delightful breakfast with both Sri Lankan and Western dishes.

• Natalie (8/5): Lovely hotel and staff in great location but expensive! - The staff were very friendly, and gave us lots of water which was much appreciated! The breakfast was also very good and generous. Rooms were comfy and cool. The room we had was on the ground floor which meant a lot of surrounding noise plus there was light coming in from a window that didn’t have a curtain so it was a bit difficult to sleep. Given the price, you would expect more though in terms of facilities - e.g.. gym or pool.

• tommU4239CJ (6/5): Can be extremely pricey for what it is - We stayed at Yara Fort Hotel for five nights from 21–26 December, paying approximately USD 1,750 in total (around USD 350 per night). The location inside Galle Fort is excellent, and the staff were polite and welcoming. However, at this price point we expected a genuinely high-end boutique experience comparable with other top properties in the Fort. In our view, the overall standard of the room, facilities, and atmosphere did not justify the rate charged. We appreciate that this was a peak festive period and that prices are higher at Christmas. Even allowing for seasonal pricing, though, the experience felt closer to a mid-range guesthouse than a luxury boutique hotel. Had the nightly rate been significantly lower, we would likely have been satisfied. Prospective guests should weigh the excellent location against the value for money, particularly as there are other well-established Galle Fort hotels offering more at similar or lower prices.

Location is great - just by the clock tower and fort walls but restaurants on the doorstep. Rooms are spacious and beautifully presented and the entire team are fabulous...friendly and courteous and happy to help. The sri Lankan breakfast is amazing...best so far on our tip and perfect egg hoppers! It's just so much nicer to stay in a smaller, friendly place rather than a big impersonal one....would heartily recommend!

It is a hotel boutique and doesn’t have starts but it worth 5 stars! It’s is MUCH better to 5 stars hotel we have been in Sri Lanka, definitely the quality and service is more aligned with a 5 stars hotel in Europe.

• DivikS2 (10/5): Fantastic - We were a family of four travelling with an 8 month old, and we had a wonderful stay at Yara Fort Hotel. The hospitality was truly impressive the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. They even assisted with preparing meals for our infant, which made our stay especially comfortable. The location is excellent, with plenty of good food options nearby, and there are beautiful walks around the fort and the streets in and around the fort complex. Overall, a great stay and highly recommended!

• tandah (10/5): Best of the Best! - What a brilliant brilliant hotel - from the enormously warm welcome, inclusion in a special Christmas prep ceremony to the day to day interactions with the staff - the menu is fabulous, rooms generous and just comprehensively a fabulous stay. Big gold star to each and every team member - I think the warmest friendliest most welcoming stay I have had anywhere in the world.
• lynholt2 (10/5): Best on tour - The staff were so welcoming, we were welcomed with a traditional dance, and helped mixed the fruit for their Christmas cakes, so many fabulous experiences. The food was excellent and the coffee was “best on tour”. The barister was amazing. Location, atmosphere all 10/10

• Sightseer29746765586 (8/5): Yara Galle Fort hotel - Lovely quaint boutique hotel well located within Galle’s fortified walls. Dinner was good and breakfast a selection of different dishes. Would have liked to modify breakfast dishes a bit though. Staff very responsive and caring. Bed very comfortable and room decor was refreshing and clean looking.

The Sri Lankan-style breakfast was amazing, delicious and a great way to experience traditional local food. The building was beautiful, with Dutch porcelain, wooden furniture, and a lovely courtyard.
• Odyssey67259299288 (10/5): Wonderful Stay at Yara Galle Fort - We had a wonderful stay at Yara Galle Fort. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful and very clean. The only small downside was that the bathroom was a bit warm because the window was essentially open, with only a mosquito screen covering it. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and would happily return!

• Benedetta (10/5): Amazing gem in Gaulle - The property is amazing, located walking distance from all the main sights in town. Room was very spacious, comfortable and clean! The staff is amazing, from the reception to the restaurant to housekeeping they all did an incredible job and they were always smiling and friendly! Breakfast was amazing! We highly recommend to stay here while in Gaulle!
