Guest Reviews
- Roberto (6/5): - Close to shore and Subic beach sign. Nice to explore the area day and night by foot.
- GILBERT (4/5): - This toilet shower leaking needs fixing, exaust fan also has sqeeky noice, no blanket they let guest use bed cover instead which is dirty, coffee shop coffee has been there for weeks its smells acidic and sour but they still serve it.
- Kervin (4/5): Never again. - AC did not work good, woke up hot and sweating. Toilet kept making noises for the duration of my stay. There we no amenities in my room, I had to pay the security guard to get them. Upkeep of the hotel was in poor condition.
- Kris Ann (2/5): - Bad
- Jose (10/5): - Awesome little place close to the bay on Subic. Good restaurants around the area.
- Jose (10/5): - Outstanding hotel, nice area to stay close to a lot of little bars by the bay!!
- Shane (4/5): Best to avoid this hotel if possible - From the outside, this place looks good, and it actually had service with a smile.
However, once inside the room, it's clear that nothing has been updated in 20 years. Old clunky a/c's, broken power points, balcony door that didn't lock, leaking toilet, old bed, TV plug wouldn't actually stay plugged into the wall......overall, the room was well below any acceptable standard.
- Romeo (2/5): - The location of the hotel being at the Waterfront makes it likable. However, the facility is so dilapidated that no amount of cleaning will ever make it great. The toilet does not flush. The shower head is clogged with calcium buildup. And the shower door is gapped allowing water to puddle around the toilet. Lighting in the room is very minimal and had to go under each light just to see my cellphone. The air conditioner filter is so dirty it emits a continuous musty smell. Bottom line, I was totally and absolutely disappointed with this facility. NEVER AGAIN!
- Marissa (8/5): - Had pool ,quite and relaxing
- Aculeus (6/5): Stay here as a last resort - Let’s start with the good. 1) all the staff are helpful and friendly. 2) the location is good if you need to be near the boardwalk. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. 3) the restaurant beside the hotel serves really good Korean food. Reasonably priced too.
The bad? I’m not sure if I just got the worst room or if all the rooms have the same issues but here goes:1) the bathroom is dark and the water supply is weak. They have a pail and tabo (water dipper) in the shower as a back up which only means that management knows about the problem but does not want to invest in a stronger water supply system. 2) the linen had holes and tears from cigarette burns and goodness knows what else. The pillows are lumpy too. 3) the airconditioner was noisy AND weak.It was so hot I slept with my shirt off. 4) the doorknob was loose and the door kept catching on the floor. 5) spotty WiFi. 6) the neighbouring establishment has a live band. If you are a light sleeper, good luck going to bed before 11 pm.
Honestly, the only redeeming value this hotel has are the employees. There are much newer and probably better maintained hotels in the area.
- Max (2/5): - Filthy. The room was absolutely terrible. It's full of insects, mosquitos, small and large cockroaches. The floor is filthy and with a simple wipe, you can see all of the nasty filth.
The water in the sink only has hot water, and the shower handle is very difficult to use to actually get hot water, so the showers are cold.
- Sonia (4/5): - Dirty ….everything is DIRTY
- Edgardo (6/5): - Room is not that clean smudges of paint on the floor and bed sheets are not clean, there are holes on bed covers. AC or air-conditioning unit does not provide enough cold
- Chris_in_Makati (6/5): Poor hotel, but nice restaurant - The hotel is quite dated and the rooms are badly in need of renovation, especially the bathrooms. There was no hot water in my bathroom, and the shower was just a trickle, so I had to skip taking a shower that morning.
On the positive side, the food in the adjoining restaurant (Tong Kyung Am) was very good. We had a Korean meal in the evening, which was good value for money. Also, the free breakfast, which is included in the room price really exceeded my expectations. I had a generous serving of cornflakes and an excellent three egg ham and cheese omelet, which was one of the best I can remember having anywhere.
I wouldn't stay in the hotel again, but I can recommend the restaurant.
- Stephen (10/5): - Excellent service
- Frank (6/5): - As the hotel was just partly opening after virus, all was not in place and quite shabby.
Staff was exellent
- Philip (8/5): Simple friendly hotel - Simple no frills hotel in the heart of subic. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are adequate for a short start. Lots of restaurants nearby and easy parking.
- Manny (8/5): - Nice place
- Lourdes (6/5): - Happy with the attentiveness and of the staff. With regards to the room condition, needs renovation specially the toilet and should provide toiletry holder and clothes hanger bar.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - politeness of the staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The swimming pool is fantastic and very clean
- Hideki (2/5): - Poor Breakfast...
- beautifuldaughter27 (10/5): Subic in Bayfront - 1 years ago we had our GAD Planning and Budgeting in Bayfront Hotel. It was memorable experience we had. The venue is nice, the food is good, the rooms very good and the staff are very accommodating, especially Ms. G. I will comeback there with my family
- rickyemerald (6/5): The buffet almost saved it from my disappointment - I went here with my wife for the long holiday weekend. It was a late booking so most of the hotels near the bay were fully booked so we had to take this one which is around Php 3,000 pesos per night.
We were disappointed with the quality and cleanliness of the room and bathroom. They need to upgrade it for their price. The bed was a little bit stiff and pillows were almost flat. There is a swimming pool at the center of the hotel which is more probably suited for kids.
I was about to give this a failing grade but the breakfast buffet saved it for us. Not a lot of choices but it was good enough for us. The other plus point is its location and probably their staff and that's about it.
If I'll go back there, I will probably look for other hotels within the vicinity.
- robertsO6496MJ (8/5): Stayed here 6 times - I've stayed here 6 times, and I've always had a good experience. The only reason I didn't give this an excellent rating is the wifi is weak during peak usage. Otherwise, each stay has always been great. The staff has always been very friendly. They remember me every time I'm there. It's in walking distance of a lot of restaurants and the mall. You're also close to the beach. The restaurant has good food. I love their Filipino breakfast.
- huayuanr2018 (2/5): RUDE ARROGANT EMPLOYEE - my boy friend and I went there to check in for 3 or 4 times already . but because of the RUDE EMPLOYEE we encountered the last time we check in there , I can tell that we will never ever go there again , Yes ,we made a mistake my boyfriend smoke inside the room which is not allowed. they noticed it when we check out (he always smoke during our stayed there they just noticed it only that time) my bf asked about the rules but this rude employee increase his voice to him, that cause tension to both of them. maybe he forgot that we were still the hotel guest . then the rude employee said he will call a police so that the police can explain to us , then few minutes later while waiting for the police (yes we were willing to wait for the police to explain it to us because the rude employee/guard was so arrogant to us . we rather speak to police than to talk to arrogant employee ) he asked for my bf id to got a photocopy of it then he got the plate # then told us that we can go without paying the penalty but he will report my bf because the police was busy and couldn't go there.
FYI WE ARE WILLING TO PAY THE PENALTY , MY BF JUST WANT AN ANSWER FOR HIS QUESTION, BUT because of this ARROGANT EMPLOYEE who wasted our time was so RUDE to my bf he even told in tagalog that "KUNG PWEDE LANG MANAPAK GINAWA KO NA" in english (IF ONLY I CAN HIT/PUNCH HIM I WILL DO THAT) ahm excuse me we already pay the penalty(2,000PHP) why did he need to tell that .
and lastly
we didn't even complaint about the bad smell of the head board ah , and the room didn't even look clean . my god ! then they will treat us like that !!!
P.S :
THEY SAID THAT THE 2,000 IS FOR THE GENERAL CLEANING OF THE ROOM because of the smoke. well EVEN IF YOU SMOKE OR NOT THE ROOM WAS SMELL BAD ALREADY SPECIAL THE HEAD BOARD.
- goltsev66 (6/5): Very friendly 3 stars hotel with various kirchen - The hotel is quite old. However all problems were fixed by friendly staff very fast. I would recommend the restaurant of this hotel which is very popular between local people. European, korean and philippino food and variety of good quality dishes.
- brianc686 (8/5): Great place to enjoy Subic Bay - We stayed here for one week. the rooms are nice, clean and modern. the staff exceptional and the breakfast supurb. the wifi is weak as it is in this area.. many good restaurants and the beach within a short walk. all and all a good experience.
- 727manilab (8/5): Bayfront Hotel is highly recommendable to stay in - The location is great but the only problem is the parking area for hotel guest is a bit small. The food are good and the staffs were very accommodating. Bayfront Hotel is highly recommendable to stay in.
- RMiguelito (8/5): Average hotel to stay and sleep. - Average hotel near the beach and lots of place to eat near the hotel great location. The only problem is the parking area for hotel guest is a bit small.
The pool is not that big if all hotel guest have to take a dip it would become too crowded.
- ancientmurrelet (6/5): Average Hotel in Subic Bay Freeport Zone - While on a bird watching excursion to the Philippines I spent two nights at this hotel and it was ok. The location is great but the hotel seemed a bit old overall and it had no hot water so showers were quite cold. A hotel of this quality should at least have running hot water - that is the main reason it only received an overall rating of 3 from me. The pool was closed for use when I was there.
- 225jaydeee (10/5): 03-05 Nov 2016 : DFCCI Pastors' Gratitude Month - A 3D/2N stay was never enough to explore the good sights & sumptuous food in Subic & BAY FRONT HOTEL - Subic had a huge contribution in making it perfectly pleasant.
Bay Front Hotel’s Grace Medalla & its staffs made our stay extremely comfortable & relaxing to the fullest. All of these excitements will never be possible, if it’s not because of them. Also, our stay-experience (Night Dipping in the BH Hotel’s Pool, Full viewing the bay from & sun-bathing in its Sis-hotel) in Bay Front Hotel made it worth coming back to this hotel.
***Bay Font Hotel is highly recommendable to stay in, as you will get more than what you pay for!!!
- ac0721 (6/5): Hotel is old - Location is superb.Staff are nice and friendly. But it would have been better if they do some renovations.Room facility is way too old and outdated.Air conditioning should be replaced and improve.Bathroom needs an upgrade too.
- MichaelM14602 (8/5): "Nice place to relax and people are very accommodating" - It was a nice experience, when we arrived at the lobby, people are very attentive and accommodating, always smiled and answered our questions informatively. Without any hustle from a long trip, they assisted us until we reached our room. But before that, you can see the pool which is located at the center of the hotel, it feels like refreshing. The room is spacious and I like the ambiance, it's a place to relax. The hotel is located near the beach (but swimming is not allowed) where you can walk early in the morning. They have a restaurant (TOM KYUNG AM if I'm not mistaken). The food is great, you can choose from Filipino, Korean-Japanese, and Western Cuisine. And they have what they call "Unlimited Samgyupsal" for those who are health conscious, these is the perfect cuisine and very affordable. All in all, the place is very good with satisfying amenities. I probably go back to this place.
- teachermarla (10/5): Comfort and convenience - I spent New Year here to watch the fireworks at Boardwalk. Most people often choose new hotels around SBMa but I love it here because the room is big, the beds are comfy and sturdy, the room is cold, and the food is yummy. It;s such a big deal for me since the Medittaranean villa style makes you feel that you are not in a hotel but a cozy home. Will definitely go back!
- gee_gb (6/5): Bayfront Hotel Subic Bay - It was in an accesible area. Near from all the shopping and activities of the city. Theres also a 7/11 across the road. Breakfast was buffet and for the price we paid its definitely a bonus. Its a basic room but kept very clean. Only setback is they charge 50php per extra pillow per day!!
- ugnayan03 (6/5): Value for money - Hotel is within the neighborhood of almost everywhere I want to go...restaurants, bars, duty free shops...great location. It was a Sunday and they had a buffet breakfast, selection was sufficient for a Filipino breakfast...although I had to argue with the receptionist since they were trying to charge me for an extra breakfast although I had paid for that in advance which is included in my voucher
- CarolUy (8/5): Nice Staffs, and accessible location - It was a rainy day when we arrived Subic. We're looking for a place to stay for a night or two. We checked different hotels that we could possibly stay. It caught our attention this Bayfront Hotel for we saw a rainy season promo. So, we checked the rooms. :) We liked it, along with the friendly staffs, esp. the room attendant that was so accommmodating. The room was worth the price, we've got a queen size bed and it's so spacious. :) Our room was inclusive of breakfast for two. The pool was good, however, it would be nice if it was not in between of the rooms. Overall, this place is recommended to stay in Subic. :)
- lfmadarang (8/5): A nice place to stay in SBMA - What I like the most in this hotel is the location. Its very accessible. Their staff are friendly and they even allow us to check-in earlier since we have bags for our two-days training. The room is clean, ACU is good, cabinets are spacious, bed sheets and towels are fresh. Hotel rate is good enough if you're looking for a descent place to stay.
- carloisip (6/5): Average hotel, nice staff - The hotel has one of the most accessible locations in the area. It is a cheap hotel with decent enough rooms and a staff that is enthusiastic to fulfill your requests.
Room lacked basic amenities such as a hair dryer and bidet. Air conditioning on some rooms is terrible, very weak. Ask to be transfferred to another room if that happens. On another note, it was clean and tidy especially the bathroom. The room felt quite gloomy and dark though maybe because it's old.
Overall, I would still choose this hotel over other hotels in Subic simply because of its price. I would choose it if I was looking for a basic overnight stay to rest before travelling again. If you are looking for a bit more luxury, then this hotel is not for you. But if you are only looking for the basic stuff like a safe, clean, and accesible hotel, then this is the place.
