• Anna (8/5): Prima verblijf. - Eenvoudig hotel, vriendelijk personeel en hele goede bedden. Midden in het oude stadscentrum en in hetzelfde pand zit een heel goed wok restaurant. De trappen zijn vrij stijl en het geheel kan een update gebruiken.

Kein TV, keine Heizung (ersatzweise eine Elektroheizung), nur ein Fensterrollo, sonst Vorhänge, es kam Licht unter dem großen Türspalt hindurch, hellhörig, kleine Betten, die Matratzen verrutschen bei Bewegung und man fällt mit Matratze vom Bett, Dusche zu klein, Badezimmer ist von innen lackiertes Plastik wie in einem Wohnmobil. Es wird kein deutsch gesprochen. Parkplatz nur für 1-2 Stunden vor der Tür möglich mit Parkscheibe. Viele Angaben stimmen nicht mehr.

Vor Ort keine Entschuldigung, sondern nur Verweis auf Booking.com Ausserdem Vorwürfe und keinerleit Unterstützung zur Gutschrift von insgesamt 190,00 EUR.
• Alwin (3/5): Zeer teleurstellend, nooit meer doen - Verouderde kamer met veel gebreken (deurknop kapot, lampen kapot, geen TV-onvangst, vloer kapot, slechte matras). WIFI hapert. Zeer gehorig en om 4.30 uur vertrekken de Bouwvakkers waarmee het hotel vol zit.

In addition, the room was very damp, poorly ventilated, and extremely cold, with no heating available. Unfortunately, this caused both me and my family to catch a cold. Furthermore, the breakfast was of very poor quality and did not meet our expectations at all. I kindly ask you to review these issues and take appropriate action. I look forward to your response. Schimmel op de wat ze noemen op de badkamer die is zo in een ruimte samen met de toiletpot gepropt, dat als je gedoucht hebt de wc pot ook kletsnat is. De verwarming kon niet uit dus kleine sauna op de kamer. De tv werkt niet. Het ontbijt is gratis maar mag niet de naam ontbijt hebben. De keuze was tussen ham en kaas meer was er niet. Voor de prijs die je betaald verwacht je op zijn minst een werkende tv en een verwarming die uit kan.

De nadruk van de eigenaars ligt o.i. op hun - op de begane grond gelegen-restaurant. Hun site geeft een totaal verkeerde indruk van het hotel. - het hotel is sterk gedateerd met veel achterstallig onderhoud, losliggend laminaat, afwezige uitzetijzers/haken bij de ramen, piepende deuren en krakende trappen, zeer gehorig! - 2 persoonskamer> kleine kamer, 1 stoel, geen tafeltje of bureau, 1 (hang)kast met 1 plank, 1 nachtkastje, geen omloop mogelijk bij het bed (tussen 2 wanden geperst), geen bedverlichting, onder het bed een dikke laag stof, een (te) kleine douchecabine, algemene hygiëne slecht, handdoeken waren gelukkig wel schoon.

• Fabian (2/5): - Window facing the parking lot where young people gather with their cars in the evenings to party, causing noise disturbances and making you worry about your car. No trash bin in the room. The Wi-Fi worked only moderately. Breakfast had very little variety, and the place does not look like in the photos.
• Edwin (1/5): Gelukkig maar één nacht, maar nooit meer deze accommodatie. - De omgeving buiten de accommodatie Ik ben uitgegaan van de foto's die bij de accommodatie worden getoond, maar ter waarschuwing, deze waren waarschijnlijk genomen na oplevering. De kamer die ik toegewezen kreeg zag er allerminst uitnodigend uit en kwam zeker niet overeen met de getoonde foto's Kleine opsomming wat ik tijdens mijn verblijf aantrof: 1. laminaat waar grote kieren / scheuren inzaten; 2. een tv die eerst op gang moest komen maar waarop daarna slechts enkele zenders ter beschikking waren; 3. twee wandlampjes waarvan er slecht eentje van deed; 4. toilet en douche waren in een soort van kunststoffen capsule gebouwd met een veel te hoog opstapje en daarbij was het douchescherm smerig / niet te sluiten en kwam los van de grond; 5. deurklink aan de binnenkant die los zat; 6. ontbijt was zeer beperkt.

• marcel (3/5): We raden dit verblijf niet aan. - De locatie was prima en het bed/ de matrassen lagen goed. We dachten in een leuk oud hotel te overnachten, maar het is een Aziatisch restaurant met kamers erboven. De kamer zelf was vies en zeer verouderd en lelijk ingericht. De badkamer was een verschrikkelijke unit en alles werd nat bij het douchen. Onder het bed lag veel stof maar ook bekers en flesjes van vorige gasten. Zodra je het raam openzette kon je naar buiten vallen, er zit geen stang of railing.

• Arnold (3/5): - Ontbijt was niet beschikbaar vanwege het Horecaweekend. Ik heb geen oog dichtgedaan vanwege een podium met keiharde muziek pal naast het hotel tot 2 uur snachts. Ik had het redelijk gevonden daar bij het boeken voor gewaarschuwd te worden.

• D8653ZKrened (8/5): 2 day stay in the Wapen van Leiden in Appingedam - We were received by friendly people. Had a clean room and comfortable beds. We got everything we needed. The breakfast was ok. Our dinner was really perfect. Enough reasons to come back in future. We will meet again. Thanks again for the hospitality!
• Jurgen (2/5): Don’t book here. - Only the breakfast and friendliness of the staff was good. It is outdated, in desperate need for renovations. It’s sad because it is a very nice hotel with rich history and plenty potential. But it’s dirty, damaged and even in dangerous state. Booking.com should step up here. On the sealing in the bathroom was black mold, which is hazardous for health. Floor was broken up and dangerous to trip over.

• Jurrie (6/5): Pleasant - The location, historic building. Free parking. The restaurant was good. It needs a complete renovation. Everywhere you looked it was broken. Curtains are torn, floor was worn, plugs were loose etc. In short, worn out. I wondered if it was still fireproof.

• AndreS295 (4/5): One night close to a loud bar :-( - Arrived late in the evening. Staff was friendly on arrival. Room was clean, however, beds very soft and pillow uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we had to listen to loud music from a bar next door, even closing the window didńt help. Lastet approx. until 03:30 in the morning - so it was difficult to find some rest. Very basic bathroom, but clean. Breakfast assortment was adequate, no hot dishes (eggs were cold).

• Hennie (8/5): Prima hotel in mooi Appingedam - Prima - ietwat eenvoudig - hotel midden in het pittoreske Appingedam. We waren er voor werkzaamheden (bij NGT), maar altijd leuk om s'avonds te ontspannen. Andy is super aardig en behulpzaam. Vroeg ontbijt mogelijk. Lunchpakket beschikbaar voor 10,50 EUR. Wij komen zeker terug!

• Edward (8/5): Mooie plek! - Elektrische auto opladen, niet mogelijk bij hotel, wel bij openbaar parkeer terrein op 5 minuten lopen. Heerlijk in het centrum, met ruime parkeer gelegenheid.
• Yvonne (8/5): Zeker de moeite waard op nog eens te bezoeken. - Zeer prettig verblijf. Vriendelijke uiterst behulpzame mensen. Kamer vrij klein maar prima bedden. Wel wat smal, maar gelukkig zijn wij niet zo groot. Badkamer zou een glazen wandscherm kunnen gebruiken i.p.v. een douchegordijn en misschien in betere tijden helemaal vernieuwd. Prima ontbijtbuffet en heerlijk avondeten. Parkeerruimte aan de achterkant. Midden in het gezellige centrum van Appingedam.

• Bert (8/5): - Erg duidelijke en uitgebreide introductie. Kamer aan de achterzijde hotel is perfect. Geen last van warmte en/of geluidsoverlast. Ontbijt service was minder. Koffie automaat ging stuk. Back-up machine was al in storing. Geen zacht gekookt ei en erg beperkt fruit beschikbaar.

• Nev (4/5): - The beds are ridiculously tiny along with the bed sheet.Very small rooms which are cold.One radiator what doesn’t heat up a great deal.Showers do not get hot enough. Due to the hotel doubling as a buffet restaurant downstairs there is constant 24 hour smell of fried food. Didn’t enjoy my stay at all. Would not recommend to anyone.
• 284alistairn (8/5): Delicious Buffet Dinner - I’d booked into the “Het Wayne van Leiden” as I really didn’t feel like driving south this evening and it was a lucky choice. The hotel is set in an ancient street close to the Nicolaïkerk. It’s difficult to see if you’re using satnav and the rooms are clean, comfortable and have all the amenities you would want. No coffee or tea in the room, but a serve yourself coffee/tea machine in the common area. The best part is the buffet which I had to check because I couldn’t believe what I heard. Hot and cold buffets, desserts etc., as usual but, as much as you can eat and drink (!) in two hours! It’s not just watered down soft drinks but red and white wines and beers! The cold buffet is mostly fish and plenty of very nice sushi, too! The hot buffet also includes barbecue, pizza and (Oh Glory! ) Teppanyaki, too! Have I landed in heaven? Well, not quite but it feels like a good approximation. The staff are very efficient and polite and fortunately, being Dutch, all speak English to help this ignorant island ape to cope! Thoroughly recommended!
• Charlie (8/5): Good value for money. - Location is good, room slightly small but this is normal for this location unless you want to pay lot more. Room was clean and staff were friendly. Good value for money.
• Stifter (6/5): Very simple, but OK - I stayed a single night here towards the end of September, and can basically confirm what I read in other people's commentary: - Friendly and helpful staff; - VERY worn hotel and rooms, but the rooms were clean; - Very narrow single-beds (but not of the horrow quality others experienced); - Careful when showering, leaves the entire (very small) bathroom wet; - Very good and fast WiFi; - Simple breakfast, but served with a smile; - Ample parking behind the hotel, free of charge. In terms of pricing, the approximately EUR 75 I paid inclusive breakfast, parking and WiFi was OK, but should definately NOT be higher.

There's no luxery in this hotel but the rooms are clean. The Bar / Diningroom also is aold fashioned but clean. There's no haute quisine but the food is good. • JaapScheemda (6/5): New matrasses please - The staff of the hotel is very friendly and rooms and restaurant are claean. We stayed in room 16 and our experience is that the bed is small and the matrass is very very hard. Its a kind a spiral which painfull when you sleep on your left ore right side. Breakfast was average but the sugarbread was delicious. Hotel is in the middle of Appingedam on one minute off the hanging kitchens. The hotel is a little old and needs a renovation, iff you like brown its ok!
• HomeComputerMuseum (8/5): Nice hotel, good rooms. - We stayed here with the band, Pyrates! for 2 nights. The hotel was nice, friendly staff. Only strange was that we basically needed to change our car every 2 hours. Lucky the police didn't check it and we stayed on the same spot the entire long weekend. Wifi was working flawless. The rooms were a bit small, especially when you sleep with 3 lads in one room it's a bit tiny but we slept well. If you want rest, try to get a room on the back or side instead of to the front, especially when there's a festival going on. On the other hand, we couldn't sleep anyway for we had to perform in the morning. All in all, good hotel. One point of dislike, the cereal had a date printed on it from months ago. They were still good though, but still. Could be better. Breakfast was fine (fresh bread!) and helped us start up in the morning! Probably we'll be staying here next year, at least, I'm hoping for that. Maybe the coffee machine on the 1st floor is fixed as well! :)
• sophia1941 (6/5): Central hotel with free parking and unlimited WiFi - The hotel is ideally located, near the central square, Nicolai Church and Old Town Hall. Apart from the restaurant in the hotel, there are two restaurants at the back: the Oude Raadhuis, and Paviljoen Overdiep along the water. A big Albert Heijn supermarket and shopping centre are nearby, accessed via a little bridge at the back. The hotel is perfectly adequate for a short stay, but for longer stays there is very little storage space: a narrow wardrobe, desk and collapsible suitcase stand. There is a shower cabin in the room with toilet and sink, with only a shelf above the sink and a few hooks for toilet articles. The rooms with twin beds are larger than the ones with double beds. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The general decor of the hotel is somewhat dated. Reception is closed after 21.00 in the weekend, and closed on Sundays after breakfast. The buffet breakfast is varied and ample, with boiled eggs, ham, cheese and fruit, different kinds of sliced bread, rolls and yoghurt. The hotel has low staff turnover, and its staff are always friendly, cheerful and helpful. The hotel has two floors but no lift.
• Lemon_tree637 (6/5): A very special hotel. - In the middle of the hotel where 8 big bowling courses,and a lot of different games to play.A big conference room with 100eds of seats.The rooms sourounds this activetyplaces like a kind of balcony.Nice hotel,kindly receptionist,nice restaurant.Some signs of weardown was registrated. Hotel was situated outside Appingdam.The city itself was not what we hoped for. Restaurants close very early.About 20-21.00.Tourist information was in Dutch only. The city dont seem to want foreiners to visit ther city. When nothing else can be found this is acceptable.
