Men helt ok trots allt.

- Elizabeth (10/5): A super friendly host and a cosy room with loads of charcter. - Jordy our host was so helpful. He pointed us in the direction of a great place for lunch.
We had an evening meal of delicious fruit salad and local gorgeous cheeses.
Breakfast was excellent home made yogurt and orange cake. Nothing

- Lorentz (10/5): Exceptional - Super friendly and hospitable host. Went above and beyond to make us comfortable
- Dmitrii (10/5): Exceptional - A very cozy, family-run hotel with exceptionally welcoming hosts. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious — especially the homemade orange cake and kumquat jam!
- Matus (10/5): A lovely little hotel in a lovely place! Amazing food and wine, and super nice hosts! ❤ -
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Carmen (10/5): I loved the hotel but its a little difficult to get to without a car and since the taxi is difficul - The owners were delightful and very helpful It's a little difficult to get to when you don't know the area. Also there aren't any restaurants to get dinner. they should pick you up at the train station because we had to wait all day since the only taxi in town was away.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful place. We had mountains view and it is wonderful. There is a road near, but not noisy.
It was very warm in a room, usually I’m cold in winter in hotels , but here not.
Also the owner tried to help us when we left there on Saturday evening without food , thank you ! Very small shower. I have size S, but it was difficult to use it.
It would be great if is possible to have a teapot in a room or a bottle of water.
And just to inform (not apply for hotel) - if you come on weekends, better to have food and water with you as it will de nearly nothing of nothing at all opened
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Very lovely staff. We had breakfast and supper on-site and it was some of best food we’ve had on our three month holiday! Great stay!
- Pawel (10/5): Everything you need to enjoy the heart of Pireneus ⛰️💚 - The staff was very friendly - the owner even printed menu in our native languages (Polish and Italian)! The food really high-quality (including home-made yoghurt one day). The place was very cosy and fully equipped. The perfect location to start wonderful hikes and rest well after returning. We had an issue with too much heat at night (possibly coming from other rooms). It was easily solvable by opening the window for a while.
- Greg (9/5): Old style rural hotel - A warm welcome from the host and staff who spoke excellent English and were very helpful. An quaint old fashioned building.
Excellent breakfast with fresh orange juice and homemade yoghurt.
We had dinner.. limited menu in traditional French style.
Only available weekends and no real local alternatives. We would have liked a kettle and tea coffee available in our room.
The dinner menu had no vegetarian options, and we forgot that the norm in France is to leave meat half cooked and bloody so didn't manage to eat the duck
Not very accessible building ..no lift.
Room on second floor so lots of stairs to climb
- Katherine (9/5): La Tour De Carol - Great place to recharge at. Our host was exceptional and did his utmost to make our trip enjoyable. For a couple of days respite from the bustle of a city it was a great spot, any longer may have been tedious.
- Leslie (9/5): Superb - Owner picked us up from the rail station and took us back next morning as no taxis available and prepared an early breakfast.
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good - Very clean, friendly knowledgeable host Nothing
- Christopher (8/5): Simple, straightforward and good - Genuine old style hotel. Caring owner, good breakfast.
- Barthel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annette (7/5): Warm friendly welcome ideally situated for early morning train journey - Warm friendly greeting. Service very good. Location for our purpose was perfect. Breakfast very good. Would have liked a bigger bed! Traffic a bit noisy.
- Elijah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (10/5): Excellent introduction to the beautiful Pyrenees. - Arriving at Latour de Carol at a time when everything was closed, we would have gone hungry, if our kind hosts had not provided us an excellent meal when the restaurant was officially closed. We remain most grateful for this act of kindness. Everything else was of a similar high standard. The location is equally exceptional. Arriving by public transport from Barcelona, we did have to face a 20 minute walk from the station. However, the bus stop for the onward journey to Prada and Perpignan was very convienient. Nothing
- Katharine (8/5): Very good - We left too early for breakfast so got a few sandwiches instead.
There was plenty of room and the bed linen was very nice. We were expecting food to be available.
- Åse (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location. Staff very helpful. A bit of a walk for something to eat in the evening.
- Gabriele (9/5): Cozy hotel in the mountains - Staff and breakfast were amazing. It was great that they could accomodate us in Terms of breakfast time.
- Anna (10/5): Very good value for money, great dinner, breakfast and staff. We highly recommend a visit as the bus trip (560) from - It’s charm. This is located in a very quiet village which suited us perfectly. We had a marvelous view of the snow capped mountains and our host was very helpful and accommodating. Nothing. It is a heritage property and the stairs were good to navigate.
- Andi (10/5): Perfect stay for little yellow train, comfortable, friendly and beautiful! - We stayed here after taking the little yellow train from Villefranche de Confluent. It took us 15-20minutes (including some photo stops)to walk with backpacks, it wasn’t steep. Jordi was so welcoming and friendly. We had lunch in the attached restaurant and it was simply amazing! The village and surrounds are stunning. The building itself is even more gorgeous then the pics. That we couldn’t stay longer!
- Ignacio (10/5): Really good for travel with family/friends - The owners are super friendly, they were always having a smile on their faces, good mood, never receive a no to our requests and when travel a group of friends with a 6m/o baby is quite the attitude you like.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - Relaxing and charming hotel. Friendly and attentive staff. Jordi has been very helpful throughout our stay and made us feel very welcomed. We would definitely recommend it
- Dawn (6/5): Latour de Carol is about a mile from the train station. The breakfast was fabulous, the owner was very helpful but the a - The breakfast was very nice and the views are gorgeous. It is very dated and on the day we stayed the restaurant was closed and there are very limited other options in the village.
- Jane (9/5): Superb - Host was very helpful when trains were on strike. Nice auberge in interesting small village. Nowhere to eat very nearby.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Felt at home. Very homely and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. - Beautiful old house in stunning village. Fantastic welcome from Jordi. He was amazing sorting out taxis for us and making sure that we had something to eat on a Sunday evening.
- John (8/5): The host made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to help in anyway he could. - Breakfast was lovely…homemade yogurt, plum jam and orange cake were delicious. Alongside fresh croissants and cold meats and cheese, set us up for the day! It was like a home from home. Everything was great.
- Lynne (6/5): Full of surprises - The location it was the only hotel in the area and the host was helpful under the circumstances . The hotel is very rustic and I would imagine very cosy in the winter . We specifically booked to experience the Yellow train and choose Latour de Carole as the start of the journey . Even though disappointed the restaurant was closed the host opened the bar with wine and beer . The break fast was typical continental and made early for us as we had a early start . I think we were the only guest staying at that time . We were not warned when we booked that the restaurant would be closed on a Monday and we arrived on the Monday . Part of the reason for booking was that the restaurant had interesting reviews . There is no other restaurants and we ended up with an 80 euro taxi ride into Spain only ten mins away but made for an expensive non budgeted evening meal.
The taxi driver and the host were very helpful but if we go again we would probably go straight from the station to the Spanish side and then back to the yellow train trip on the morning . If we had know about the restaurant being closed we may have been able to reschedule the trip arriving on the Tuesday part of the experience for us was the restaurant.

- Charles (9/5): We arrived late and planned to leave early, but the friendliness and helpful ness of the owner persuaded us to stay long - Clean, comfortable, spacious, immediately friendly, helpful.
- Ebrahim (8/5): Comfortable stay - Just stayed for one night, and it suited my purpose The stairs!
- Tabitha (8/5): Friendly, helpful staff in a traditional Catalan hotel - lovely - The owner was kind and helpful, the breakfast was delicious- all homemade! We had a good evening meal there too. I loved all the original artwork on the walls and the old fashioned (in a good way) feel of the restaurant and lounge area. The rooms were clean and comfortable and good value.
- David (9/5): Superb - Very nice host, beautiful location, spacious rooms. It's 15 mins walk from Ribes de Freser SNCF-Rodalies station.
- Dave (10/5): Excellent stay! - I booked a room while walking on the transpyrenean footpath GR11. On a very hot Saturday two of the refuges I had expected to stay at were packed, so I continued walking. Several hours later and no clean water to resupply from I was about done in.
I arrived just as the restaurant closed at 8.30pm but the owner offered me the option of sitting down straight away for a meal.
Staff were fabulous. The food was wonderful as was the wine. I could not have asked for more, I loved my stay, not because I was done in, although I was, but because it was excellent. Highly recommended! The translation of the shower instructions made the owner and I laugh 😃 - wouldn't change it though
- Dimitrios (9/5): Superb - Very beautiful building, excellent host, helpful and try to meet his clients needs. The lack of a fridge in the room,.
- M (8/5): Very good - Very clean , very comfortable old hotel with nice history. Host very helpful and great breakfast
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - Delightful characterful residence. The bedroom lighting could be improved.
- Andrea (7/5): Good - A super location on the main road and very close to the station for the "Yellow Train". Excellent free parking and an excellent evening meal with a good breakfast too! An Ideal stop when you are passing by and need to take a rest! No drink facilities in the room for making yourself a tea and/or coffee - a hot drink. But overall, all was great!
- Cathy (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was excellent and Jordi was very kind and informative. Thank you. Cathy 🇨🇦
- Jordi (9/5): Superb -
- Eugene (10/5): This is an old fashion country inn with superb hospitality and food and minimalist rooms. - Hot coffee and cold meat and cheese with fresh squeezed OJ and homemade jams and yogurt. Dress warmly and you will be fine. Energy costs in Europe have skyrocketed with hotels unable to recover the cost. The menu had a wide variety of delicious options and a comprehensive Catalan wine cellar. The town has about 480 people and is 1.5 miles from the train station with Sr. Coch taxi service available. Sr. Serrat and Señora Isabel have made this inn a culinary destination.
- Lluis (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (10/5): heartful place, more than just a stay.. - the people and the original authentic style the matrass was a bit too softy
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional - The service was amazing, they were súper nice all the time. The breakfast was simple but delicious
- Charles (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Ruth (8/5): Very good - We had a comfortable room with a view to the mountains and Val de Cerdanya. The host, Jordi, was most accommodating and interesting to talk to and he provided us with a lovely breakfast - best homemade yogurt, Jordi! Thank you
- Gradyn (4/5): disappointed with facilities , felt like we had intruded .would expect atleast expect coffee offered in the morning.. - location for our purposes buzzing noise all night in room disturbed sleep .
no food offered /available in the evening with very poor alternatives in the area .
unable to take breakfast due to early departure.( packed sandwiches provided )
bar unavailable.
- Kerstin (10/5): Exceptional - Seeing the sun rise from one of the windows, after a comfortable and reposting night. The best breakfast ever with home-made yoghurt, and jams. Fresh bread and croissants. Friendly and service minded staff. The shower was a bit complicated...
- Ingemar (9/5): Superb -
- Norma (10/5): outstanding! - The place was beautiful antiquing with a lot of history. worth walk-in 1 km from the train station The gentleman at the Inn was so kind. let me borrow his USB switch overnight because I had lost mine. Had his staff provide me with an early sandwich and chocolate, before my very early journey. They have a wonderful dining menu.
- Tarek (10/5): Great stay in charming old hotel, very accommodating - Our host was very accommodating and understanding, especially with dietary needs (vegetarian-vegan). Our room was clean, comfortable and had an incredible view. We had a fantastic breakfast spread including homemade cake and yoghurt. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant. We would really enjoy returning to L'Auberge Catalane on a future trip! Thank you
