Guest Reviews
- Mr r m dalton (8/5): Quirky but great ! - It’s a bit hard to judge because I was there just for sleep for a few hours. Great welcome by staff. Quirky room but clean, comfortable, tv, bar snacks and most important a good stay. I like quirky so enjoyed the room! So 7/10.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Arrived after a long day, the property was closed, all locked up. No one answering phone, no notice on door.
- Sandra (4/5): Improvements needed. - The bedroom was basic, fir there lighting would improve the bedroom. Having fridge which was constantly switching on and off kept me awake.
Extractor fan in bathroom was full of dust.
Overall bedroom was depressing.
- Jill (8/5): - Old inn mid upgrading some rooms nicer than others
Very clean friendly staff
Excellent breakfast
- Bob (2/5): - Not an Inn at all, I do wonder why they work in hospitality
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location is good. Room good, staff good. Only thing was with the hot weather the duvet was a bit to warm. Could do with a thinner one.
- Daniele (6/5): Good for a night or two - The place is central and easy to find, it is on top a pub so can be loud, room small but clean, bed ok!
- Phillip (8/5): Good budget choice for short stay in Barnstaple - My partner and I arrived after closing time following a long journey from Manchester but the lady was very understanding. Comfy double bed, free WiFi, freeview TV, handy fridge, clean/powerful shower, easy check out. Suggestions: Fridge in room was appreciated but a bit too loud, room door difficult to close (needs re-hinging). Would recommend and would happily stay again next time we are in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ok for the price - A bit old and tatty
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It's quirkiness and the history of the building and activities that went on there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was very comfortable and very quiet, little extra touches like a mini fridge with snacks, basket of toiletries were thoughtful. Mark and all the staff were very friendly, as were the locals, all providing us with useful information about the area of Barnstable, like best place to park, just 3 minute walk from the Rolle Quay, good places to eat, visit etc. Breakfast was wonderful too. And the beer was at the pub, fabulous.
- Roger (8/5): The Price is right the Staff and Land Lord Perfect - Its Pretty much at the end of the High street so over the Bridge and Road and find them eating places.
Its not the Ritz and its not the Pits. Its good all round and better still half the price of others, theres no Car Park but the one across the road is just £1.70 a day so buy a ticket the night and it starts at 8am till 6pm go out come back no worries. The staff and the Landlord were perfect and up for a bit of banter it's
the perfect place for us.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budget op for Barnstaple. Don't expect too much! - POSITIVES:
- Good location;
- Friendly staff;
- Quiet, despite being above a pub;
- Honesty box is a neat idea.
Negatives:
- No complimentary toiletries;
- Fridge was loud;
- Shower, impossible to stop water running into bathroom floor;
- Internet was very poor;
- Hinge on bedroom door requires attention.
