- Dulce (10/5): - Such a cute place and the staff is friendly and helpful. The suite was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Keep in mind there is no elevator so getting luggage up the stairs can be tricky. There is also no laundry on site but a coin laundry is a short drive away. The dinner buffet was great the first night and Wendy, our server, was so kind and attentive. The second night was kind of a bust as the atmosphere, food, and staff were all a bit “off”. Not sure what was going on that but we hope it was just a one off.

- Erika (10/5): - On our way to the Grand Tetons, we stayed here and were pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff and owners were! The property is very large with a diner, restaurant and bar, all under one roof. Although there isn’t an elevator, the price was low and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The details of the original lodge as well as the decorating make it so interesting too! We stayed again on our drive back from the Grand Tetons and had great conversations with the staff again, as well as another comfortable nights stay. We recommend this and hope you will appreciate this lodge as much as we did!

- Daryl (10/5): Afton, WY - Very nice updated historical hotel. Very comfortable and conveniently close to everything we needed. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The decor was a Western outdoors theme, very well done.
- William (6/5): - AC not working in room 41. Noise from the main road through town comes right through the window like it's not even closed. No blackout drapes. Cafe has okay food but a pretty limited menu. Very nice TV in the room. Bed is very comfortable with a variety of pillows. Be prepared to climb stairs!

There is no elevator- you will have the pleasure of dragging your suitcase up three flights of stairs. There are no additional electrical plugs- they are old and have extensions coming out. I was afraid to use any of them for fear of electrocution. Great restaurant downstairs for breakfast.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - We could not stay there, hotel had no elevator. You had to climb two very long and steep flights of stairs. We booked a king size room; it was on the second floor, room was not big enough to put your luggage anywhere.. you could not get around the bed, to close to the wall, yet it had a 64 inch television that dominated the whole wall… was to big to see… bathroom was small but nice. I have a heart condition and could not go up and down those stairs, therefore, we had to cancel… all their rooms were upstairs…we drove two hours to get to this hotel. Never any mention of no elevator… Shannon was very nice.

All rooms were booked solid, due to a regional golf championship. 5 minutes later the property called back. She actually called golf coach and switched my room to the 2nd floor. Service was above and beyond what I expected. Lobby and bar was rustic and beautiful.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - The first thing to not is how friendly and kind all staff is. We felt very welcome, the room was very clean, the food was great. This is an old historic building, so don’t expect all the luxuries of fufu resorts, but it truly represents Wyoming. We will be back.

The restaurant two years in a row was quite under staffed, and our friends of color were told the restaurant was closed at 11am when clearly it was not. And other friends waited 1.5 hours to get order taken. Not many other options for breakfast in the town.

- Bradley (6/5): "Don't buy anything. Everything is expired." - My family stayed at Colters Hotel at the end of a long day on the road. We didnt arrive before 7pm so we had to go into the bar and wait for the bar tender to finish with the bar customers before she could check us in. This wasnt very pleasant. There is no elevator so be prepared to lug yourselves and your luggage up the stairs to your room. This hotel was in it's prime long before I was born (1980s). The room smelled like they sprayed everything with lysol to make it smell nice instead of old. I guess the best way to describe the hotel is by what the sign posted on their vending machine said: "Don't buy anything. Everything is expired."

We got a hotel with a cafe, bar, and restaurant, a beautifully renovated room (room 37) adorned with more pillows I have ever seen in my life, A jetted tub, and shower combo multiple tvs and one ghost? The stay was quiet and very comfortable the ghost scared me; and the drunk guy that walked into my room also freaked me out but all in all 8/10 experience would stay again.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay somewhere else! - No elevator. 56 stairs to the 4th floor. Heater didn’t work. Fridge didn’t work and filled the room with funk upon opening. Stayed one of two nights scheduled, only because it was too late to find something else. We were still charged for both nights in spite of turning in keys and speaking with manager Laura. She claimed we accepted moving to another room. We did not. Dishonest. Find anywhere else in the valley to stay. Could be cool if they would just take care and be honest. Other than the manager, the staff was friendly. Also, they do have a good restaurant. But I’ll never stay there again.

We were looking forward to eating dinner at the steakhouse restaurant located in the hotel, just to find out they ran out of food. The next morning we waited over an hour for our breakfast to be served.

- Lynn (8/5): Colter Lodge full of grace and Charm. - The lodge is located right downtown surrounded by restaurants and retail shops. Service was very friendly and helpful. Management moved our room when is was discovered that 2 of the electrical outlets would not work. Lodge is a stately old lady w/ so much charm and character. Will stay there again.

Our room was very comfortable and absolutely gorgeous! We will definitely stay here again in the future!

We were disappointed to see the restaurant downstairs and breakfast in the morning were both closed via a note on the door (a website or booking notification would have been nice) it kind of ruined the whole purpose of the trip. We did enjoy the bar that evening after having dinner in town. Would probably try this place again since other than the closures, we enjoyed the facility.
- Rodney (8/5): - We have stayed here a few times and love the old style atmosphere. The only thing we missed on this stay was the restaurant was closed. Probably because its the off season. we love there breakfasts. Only inconvenience was the ice machine was not working.

When the bar closed, a group came upstairs to play pool and cards late into the night outside the room. Great place if you like cold showers and don't like to sleep. Rough place if you have to get up early.

- David (8/5): Very old hotel - If your looking for an authentic old western hotel experience then this is the place for you. There is no one at desk to check you in or out. There’s no elevator so very tough carrying up suitcases. The attached rest. Is delicious & the owner is very personable.

I stayed on fourth floor - room is very small, bed sagged, carpets were musty smelling and aggravated my asthma. I cut my stay at the hotel short and was relieved to move to a modern, clean, airy motel.
- Olivia (8/5): - It was a pretty good experience. I felt the people that I dealt with from paying the bill to the front desk were not friendly. It warned us in the communication that there were no elevators, but that was hard on us to haul luggage up those stairs.

- Caleb (10/5): - There was a problem with my hotel reservation, and I didn't expect it to turn out well when the only person to talk to was the bar tender below the hotel. The hotel proved to be better than expected, the bar tender did a great job with the booking, and then manager who was off site that day quickly took care of the problem the next morning. This is a fun place to stay, and I am happy to recommend it to someone looking for a hotel in the area.

- Joshua (10/5): Unassuming. Fantastic. - When I first pulled up at Colter’s Lodge I was wondering what I got myself into. Place was “historic” and looked every bit of it. When I went inside there was a note on the counter to check in with the bartender. I found this quite humorous. Never made it that far, as the desk staff was just returning. They were quite pleasant and very quickly I was handed the key to my room (an actual key, not a key card) and pointed to the stairs through the restaurant, which had just closed for the night. I ascended the creaky stairs slowly, hobbled slightly from a few days in the mountains. As I trudged down the hall, the floor creaked some more. I chuckled as I passed the raccoon pelts hung up in the hallway, steeling myself for what was behind door 25. I entered the room, and the floor creaked some more. The walls felt thin. I was worried I’d have an awful night. The first thing I saw was a million inch flat screen tv on the wall. Maybe closer to 80 inches. Pretty much the width of the king bed that took up most of the rest of the space in the room. I peaked into the bathroom and noticed the deep, heavenly looking jetted tub. Just what the doctor ordered after days in the mountains! After soaking for an hour and then taking a shower to actually get clean, I felt much better. I crawled into bed. Climbed really. The platform was probably three feet high. And settled into what was at this point unexpectedly delightful sheets and a memory foam mattress. Bliss. I bricked into deep slumber.

- Home (8/5): - Over all nice place. Bed way to soft, felt like you were sleeping in a bowl. No breakfast included. A bit pricey for what it was.
- LORI (8/5): - The staff was friendly and our room was comfortable and clean. Sadly, we can't give a good review re: guest safety. We heard a staff member check in a guest by saying their room number aloud. Room keys are true keys that have a plastic tag with the room number on it. That leads us to believe that locks are not changed out between guests, making it possible for a guest to make a copy and return at a later date. Room doors only have the one lock. There is no chain or bolt that a guest can use once inside the room. Upon checkout, guests drop keys in an open box on an unattended desk in the foyer. We realize not everyone sees the above as a safety issue but thought it should be included.
- David (4/5): - The room had a little futon bed. There was no bedding in the room. Nobody was at the front desk. Had to ask bartenders, one of them didn’t want anything to do with trying to help. The other one tried to help but had no access to the room where the bedding was kept. After an hour or so somebody brought some bedding. The restaurant in the lodge isn’t open for dinner. There is no elevator. There was only a half roll of toilet paper in the room. When I asked the restaurant staff in the morning for more they told me to go try to find the maid who might be outside smoking. The breakfast was awesome

- Sara (8/5): - It was a unique space. Very rustic. Friendly staff. Great restaurant right in the hotel. There was also a bar and liquor store right in the hotel. The only thing I didnt like was the 4 flights of stairs we had to walk up to get to our room. There is no elevator. Also the room was very small but we didnt spend much time in there. Otherwise a great hotel.
- Jolene (10/5): We'll be back - First time staying here and will stay on our next adventure. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and relaxing bar. We had our 3 grandkids 11,15 and 15. Room 31 was a perfect fit with plenty of space for all with full and queen beds for all.

- Scott (2/5): Terrible stay - This place is a waste of money. Multiple floors with no elevator. No phone in the room to contact the front desks. Breakfast is not included like indicated on your site.

- Pamela (2/5): - We found someone elses clothes in the drawers and when i spoke with management they said the guy had beed gone for 4 days! Made me feel lile the room had NOT BEEN CLEANED. They did refund my mo ey for the stay but it didnt make me feel good about my stay.
