- Breege (10/5): - The hotel was lovely ....very clean, lovely friendly staff, breakfast very good đ
- Sebastiana (10/5): - I went into my stay with meh expectations after reading some of the reviews, but I couldnât have been more wrong. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed by a warm sense of coziness, cleanliness and genuine hospitality. The hotel is incredibly charming, with a lovely touch of nostalgia that makes it feel special rather than outdated. My room was spacious, super clean and had the most comfortable bed I experienced during my entire trip to Ireland.
The staff were kind and welcoming, with a special shout out to the woman at the front desk and the fellow who stayed late at the bar.
I really hope Iâll have the chance to return one day to lovely Buncrana and the delightful Lake of Shadows Hotel.
- Kelly (10/5): we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Everything within walking distance. - Breakfast was excellent. great value for money. Everything was just perfect.
- Samanthafe (5/5): Excellent location - Good location Breakfast was tasteless
- Craig (9/5): - Hospitality and comfort. Nothing
- NOREEN (8/5): - Breakfast was very enjoyable and accommodated my gluten free request. There was a fabulous selection of food, either continental or cooked. The room was a comfortable size with tea facilities. The hotel is in a great location , within easy walking distance to the main street with popular bars and excellent restaurants. I would be more than happy to stay again. Would have liked water in the room.
- Conor (10/5): 10/10 - Great check in. Lovely room. And great food. Nothing

- Aisling (5/5): Unhelpful reception staff, very small rooms, wouldnât rush to stay again - Good location, close to Main Street and shore front. I had 2 rooms booked for 2 adults and 2 kids, I wouldâve thought weâd get rooms beside each other. Was told at checkin that as the hotel was very busy they couldnât place us in rooms alongside each other but I had made this booking months ago so canât understand why the rooms were so far apart. Our stay was for our 25th wedding anniversary and our total group had taken 7 rooms with others in the group having rooms beside each other so what reception said was untrue. I also asked for an early checkin or if there would be a room we could leave bags in and that I could change into my dress as I needed to be at the 25th venue before 4pm and check in wasnât until 3.30. I was told I could pay extra for early checkin and no offer was made to store bags. Very disappointing customer service.
Room was tiny and bathroom couldâve been doing with a good clean as the grout around shower and tiles was very grubby.

- Sarah (7/5): Great location, friendly staff! - Great location and very clean. Lovely breakfast, and staff were all really pleasant. Decor a little tired, especially in our room.
- Marianne Donaghy (10/5): A great few days away ! - Our 3 nights stay at Lake of Shadows was excellent. The decor and room were amazing, with excellent standards of cleanliness. Sleeping was easy as bed was very comfortable!.The variety and standard of food on offer was very impressive and delicious .The hotel was beautifully decorated and the icing on the cake was how attentive the staff were .Being friendly and efficient made our stay so lovely. Located very central to everything was a big bonus! First time in Buncrana and will definitely be back again to Lake of Shadows! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting this lovely town . N/A
- Brendan (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a great nightâs sleep. Parking was convenient and easy, which made our arrival stress-free. Itâs a family-owned property, and you can really feel the warm, personal touch in the service â everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fresh and lovely Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy and pleasant stay!

- Coleen (10/5): - Great location, good food although had a bit of a wait on Saturday evening, few customers got up and left, but they were busy with a few big tables, special mention to Lilly who served us both Saturday night and again Sunday morning, very friendly, bubbly and a credit to your staff
- Christina (8/5): 3 night stay seeing family. - We were to stay here for 3 nights however we had a family emergency on the 3rd day & had to return home. Jennifer very kindly refunded the 1 night we couldn't stay. Thank you to Jennifer. We found some of the rooms to be very gloomy so eventually we were given a lovely bright room with 3 windows so we were happy to be in the room. Everything was spotless - comfy bed - great shower - tea & coffee making facilities. Breakfast was adequate not a huge selection but enough. We had dinner there one evening with family & the food was diverse & very tasty. Staff are very pleasant & helpful. Hotel is just a few minutes walk from Buncrana high St so very convenient. Would stay here again âď¸
- mark (7/5): Was surprised how nice the room was after see the lobby - Nice clean room. Friendly staff. Lobby and interior dated.

- elisha (2/5): - me and my partner has planned a visit to the hotel for the night and ended up in a car crash on the way there ( both pretty injured) after ringing the hotel to explain what has happened they didnât seem to care not even an offer to give money back or change the night of stay
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eddie (9/5): Almost perfect - The service was excellent, so friendly. The rooms well appointed and with a bath, so often nowadays only showers. jThe food itself was superb, the only fault and the reason it did not get a ten was the cutlery and crockery aon the breakfast table were dirty, stained and two chipped cups Not too much to dislike about here
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Great location. Really friendly staff.
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (5/5): Passable -
- Sheila (8/5): - Friendly staff, comfortable bed and lovely clean bathroom
- Amber (7/5): Good -
- Emma (4/5): Disappointing - The location of hotel The room was very small.
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel in the heart of buncrana staff where lovely great room excellent breakfast definitely be back !!!
- anthony (6/5): Big letdown - Hi, just a couple of things.
At check-in I was asked to pay the full bill even though I had already prepaid with yourselves.
Wasn't able to access Internet to prove i had already paid, so for the duration of our stay we had to use our data as i have said the hotels was non existent. I enquired as to why and was told they would check it out but never got back to me.
Generally the hotel was clean but tired and dated.
We had a meal in the restaurant on the Saturday night.
The person showed us to our seats with food menu's then disappeared never to be seen again.
Usually you,re asked would you like to order a drink while you decide what you want to eat.
However 10 minutes later we did manage to order wine from a different member of staff.
Not a happy experience at all i,m afraid to say.

- Kenneth (5/5): Nice location poor reception staff - Nice location After already paying on booking.com before we arrived the receptionist demanded we pay them again and made a scene . I explained many of times before that it has already been paid and they told us it is not possible , then eventually after standing at reception for 30 mins he came and said âoh I see use have paid â then gave us our room key! Very poor reception!
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were excellent. Friendly and accommodating. The thin walls.
- Mary (8/5): Very good -

- Brian (8/5): We had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay with lovely staff . - Breakfast was very tasty and plenty of it. Hotel very clean and comfortable bed and room. Dinners were tasty and good portions. The fact there was no actual bar to sit and have a drink. If u were just having a drink the people at the next table could have been eating a meal. An area just to have a quiet drink would have been nice.

- Bernadette (9/5): Very good service no delay in checking in or out ,within walking distance of the main street - Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked and this I feel is very important staff checked that everything was ok and if we needed anything there wasn't a problem getting it Didn't have a problem with anything
- P (3/5): Poor - Location Bed small. My feet were actually hanging off the end of the bed and im not tall at 5'10. Small bathroom. No iron or bottled water In the room. Limited choice of breakfast. Room was clean but extremely overpriced for what was provided. Will not be returning.

- Helena (9/5): Altogether a pleasant stay. I would return. - I loved the location of the property. The room was clean and comfortable but there was no soft chair in the bedroom. The bar wasnât very comfortable. No soft seating to relax.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (7/5): Good - Good location
Premises is very clean Room on 1st floor very noisy. Could hear other rooms using bathrooms and activity downstairs throughout the night. It is an old building, no soundproofing.
The wifi didn't work, after entering the password my devices warned of an insecure network.
It's a nice place but I prefer larger, modern properties.
- Marian (6/5): OK but not great - Walking distance to restaurants and bars
Free parking
Great breakfast Room was ridiculously hot and the aircon cooled for a while and then started blowing hot air! Had to sleep with window open and then had the smell of the restaurant cooking breakfast wafting in, in the morning.
Room is very small and basic
