Downtown's narrow streets carry huge trucks not watching their speed, so take care; breakfast lavish & high quality Nothing it perfectly suited my short notice one-and-one half day funeral trip; and Steven even gave me a pass on his promised 1/2 day surcharge for early arrival (I notice); he was exceptionally cordial.

Nolan (10/5): Exceptional - Garden Cottage: From the I set foot onto the property I felt the energy radiating from it. You open the gate to enter the grounds and can automatically fell the calming and welcoming environment being offered by the well designed garden Oasis, the care free wild life (as if they know they were in a safe place too) and through the natural sounds of nature (IE. Waterfall, crickets, etc.) We were fortunate enough to be able to stay in the Garden Cottage, a separate unit off the main house with its own privet entrance, and prvt apartment style living area. BLOWN AWAY by the attention to detail, the amenities offered, and the quality of everything used inside! Your even encouraged and very much welcomed in the Big house where there is a game room, a full kitchen, a seating area, and a yoga/mediation room. Over exceeded my expectations and the host, Stephen has a ora about him that makes you feel safe, and cared about. He enjoys what he does and enjoys meeting and getting to meet new people. Carole (10/5): Comfortable home away from home for your memorable getaway. - Stephen was a wonderful host and has really paid attention to every detail that may be important to guests. The property was charming and beautifully maintained with many special artistic touches. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden in the evening. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. Parking was not a problem and the home is close enough to ‘downtown’ Culpeper to walk to explore the boutiques, cafes, restaurants and bars. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property for a weekend getaway or even for use as a home base while exploring the surrounding area. I honestly cannot think of anything negative to say. The property is not a 5 star hotel but in my opinion this type of accommodation is better because it has character and the comforts of home. If you prefer the sterility of a hotel, don’t stay in this wonderful home away from home.

Karen (10/5): What a Gem! - Amazing stay, convenient to downtown shops and dining. Self serve from beginning to end. Sharing the Bathroom wasn’t an issue or an inconvenience . On street parking was safe. There a a carport to with charging capacity for EVs. Continental breakfast was fresh and delightful. Game room, gardens and full kitchen at the guest disposal. All rooms lock with a code for extra security. Street noise was quiet after 10 pm and before 6am. Hostess responsive to texts; price was competitive and yet accommodation was homey and cozy compared to chain hotels. House, grounds and beds were clean and tidy. Towels soft and thirsty, shower had great water pressure. Green house plants look beautiful and keep air clean, dog and family friendly. Met some really great people there! Would stay again if in the area! Well done, Stephen!
French (10/5): Perfect for our needs - The home was beautiful, may activities available to do, I large outdoor chess set, a pool table, a garden that was not in bloom during our stay, but looks like it would be gorgeous in the summer. Plenty of top shelf items to choose from for breakfast. The host was great! I would stay there again, When I booked on my phone, I did not realize that there would be a shared bathroom with one other room. Luckily, we were the only weekday guests and enjoyed the home to ourselves.

Judith (10/5): - We had such a great stay at West Park Gardens. Stephen, the owner, went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for us. The home is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need to be comfortable. The master suite is very spacious; bed is comfortable. Breakfast and coffee were wonderful, and he had some unique local foods. We loved playing in the game room, and our dog so enjoyed the fenced in back yard. The outdoor space was pretty amazing too. Just a great experience; and we hope to be back another time.
Eleonor (7/5): All in all a pleasant stay - Lovely house, good size rooms, very clean. There is a television on in the main room from morning into the night. It comes on and off automatically, it seems. Also, didn’t realize that I’d be sharing a bathroom with so many others. There’s a misconception about tea drinkers that we don’t want caffeine or black tea. I really missed a breakfast tea option in the morning and in my room, which is advertised as having tea and coffee facilities. There was only a coffee maker, nothing for tea. If you haven’t tried to make tea with hit water through a coffee maker then perhaps you wouldn’t realize that that water has a coffee flavor. It isn’t pleasant to drink.
Verified traveler (8/5): - Check-in is through your phone. Hotel is an older house with plenty of character, and creaky floorboards. Be prepared to share the bathroom/shower if other guests have arrived (fortunately, we had the house to ourselves). Several rooms for relaxing, including a pool table, darts and boardgames. Garden is a pleasure. Parking is on the street.

West Park Garden is a destination by itself and we will be returning. Bed & Breakfast hosts rarely offer guests the chance to make themselves completely at home, especially in a kitchen as nice as West End Garden. The next time we stay it will be for several days. We will take advantage of the lovely kitchen, the magical backyard with a soothing fountain/subtle lighting. Additionally we will spend more time enjoying a glass of wine while playing cards/board games in the parlor room with glass windows on three sides. I highly recommend this wonderful listing!!

Anonymous (10/5): Perfect, relaxing overnight stay after traffic of northern VA. - Beautiful & well-kept with lovely decor! A lot of work went into the design & presentation of this home. Game room was fun & backyard was delightful! Rather have bathroom en suite but knew it was shared with another room. All worked out well!
Cary (10/5): An outstanding B&B with an exvellent host. - Exceptionally clean and with many, many live plants throughout the home. Great breakfast ! Wonderful game room, with pool table, PacMan machine, and much more ! A beautiful garden for quiet relaxation, or a game of chess on a large set with pieces that are calf high and moved around on a large board.

Ronald (4/5): A beautiful house in an excellent location but overall, not quite living up to our expectations. - The house was beautifully decorated and the host was very gracious and his responsiveness to our communications was excellent. We were disappointed that we had no bath in our room. We shared a hallway bathroom with guests in an adjacent room. Our room had no closet or wardrobe for hanging our clothes. This made it difficult as we brought suits and dresses for the wedding we were attending. The self-serve continental breakfast was laid out very nicely; however, our expectation was that we would be served more than a self serve continental breakfast and that the host would be on the premises.
David (10/5): Fabulous, fun and very relaxing stay. I would highly recommend West Park Gardens - It was a very unique and eclectic home. We absolutely loved our stay there. It felt like home away from home and more. The game room was such an added bonus and fun. If we come that way again? We would love to stay there again. It had all the amenities we could ever want and more. I can't think of a thing we didn't like? I wouldn't change a thing. There was nothing we did not like.
Ann (10/5): I liked absolutely everything, the owner answered messages and was courteous! I fell in love with this place and look fo - The house was well decorated, every little detail was thought out. I especially liked the dishes and cutlery, it was very nice to have an early breakfast with delicious croissants, coffee and fruit! The bed was very comfortable and I slept well! in the living room, I turned on the cartoon late at night with my husband and relaxed well! i really liked the scented soap and hand cream in every bathroom and clean fresh towels, the house smelled nice of freshness and eucalyptus, not intrusive and very good! I enjoyed every little thing in this house! I really wanted to stay there longer, it's a pity that it was time for me to leave, but I will definitely come back here again!

Ian (9/5): Lovely stay - Great home to stay in. Lots of great features that we could make use of. The host was lovely and the location is great to reach everything such as Shenandoah if you have a car The ceiling fan in our room didn't work so it got a little stuffy at night. You can hear a lot at night including other guests using the shared toilet which makes it quite intimate.
Stephen (10/5): Home away from home but better. - Parked directly in front. Attractive inside and out. Easy access to house and room. Breakfast was nicely laid out in the Dining Room. Cereals, fruit, pastries, etc. Cold food and drinks in the fridge. Everything organized and clean. Large backyard garden with flowers, birds, fountains, trees, umbrella, tables and chairs for relaxing. Nearly completed garage remodel unit. We knew we were sharing a bathroom. It is large with large windows, shower works great, no issues with sharing, door is left open when not in use. Bathroom was always clean. Town center is a short walk away, commercially active, we enjoyed the two recommended restaurants we tried. Train station is nice and allows connection from NY through to NC. Old House Vineyards is nearby. Not knowing when we will be back.

Margo (9/5): I enjoyed my stay at West Park Gardens and would recommend to others. Would definitely stay again. - Location was good. The house is very charming. The size of the room was very good. The light in the room was great. Street parking was easy and free. I loved that there were several choices of places in the house to relax or eat when not in my room. I really appreciated that there was decaf coffee available. I also appreciated that there was liquid soap available for the shower. I never had to wait for bathroom use, so sharing with another room was not an issue at all. Would definitely stay here again. I had to enter the code 2 or 3 times to get it to take for both the front door and for my room. More of a comment than a complaint as it did eventually open. The room temp was a little cool for me when not under the covers, but for 2 days no biggie. There were two doors to the backyard with no instructions so I did not use it in the brief time I had, though it looked inviting.
Christina (10/5): awesome stay in a picturesque home— walking distance to downtown and supermarket! - beautiful property, inside the home and out. loved the backyard and garden area, picturesque outdoor setting. lots of cozy little seating areas. room was cozy and clean! lots of little touches, it’s apparent our host is very detail-oriented :) kitchen is well-stocked for guests, and breakfast was delicious. will be back!!
Jonna (10/5): Exceptional - There was so much to love about West Park Gardens! From the accommodating host to the peaceful surroundings. It was so pleasant to walk through the door to music playing softly in the background. Our room was very nicely prepared and looked so inviting. Very comfortable bed, beautiful grounds to walk, and delicious self-serve breakfast in the morning. We couldn't have been happier with our brief stay! There is nothing negative to say about this property. We hope to visit again sometime in the future.

Bob (10/5): lovely Inn - West Park Gardens is tastefully decorated with much attention to detail. The serve yourself breakfast was excellent with glass plates and items displayed beautifully. Our room was large with a comfortable bed. The Inn accepts dogs. The location was nice for a walk and choices for dinner. The garden is so beautiful! In March it was a bit chilly to sit outside but we did enjoy walking around and admiring the plants.

We are planning on coming back when we visit out family in Culpeper. Great location to the historic downtown and beautiful back garden. Nothing.
Nicholas (10/5): Luxury spot, maybe not the best for women traveling alone. - The location is arrayed like an extreme luxury hotel with all sorts of extras like coffee, cookies, etc and large public areas. The location probably isn’t great for the security conscious (e.g., unaccompanied women). The room door code is the first thing you would guess and likely doesn’t change, the shared bathroom has no lock aside from a chain so you can’t keep the door from partially opening while you shower, the blinds/shutters are either transparent or have a missing panel so you can be seen from the street with the lights on, etc. If those things don’t bother you, this is really one of the nicest places I’ve stayed though! Just not great if that would make you uncomfortable.
