Guest Reviews
- Emma (6/5): - The staff are really welcoming and friendly. The facilities are a bit rundown and could do with a lick of paint. The menu choice is a bit limited and the restaurant times are short. The rooms are basic but clean and other than a hairdryer everything else is provided.
- Carl (6/5): needs a make over. - a lovely building that could do with refurbishment.
Staff helpful and friendly
- Christine (2/5): - Wasn't anything really to like wasn't worth what we paid , very dated, curtains hanging off tracks, worn out towels stairs to rooms needed a good hoover, Wasn't a great choice for breakfast unles you liked chocolate cereals. Bathroom had nowhere to hang anything and you needed to be 7 ft to see through mirror
- John (10/5): - Lovley place would definitely stay again
- Jonathan (8/5): - Coay pub with eooms upstairs.
Rooma ar basic but clean . Bathroom was a litre tight with small shower cubicle
- Doreen (10/5): - Staff are so friendly and helpful. Good location for visiting family.
- Sebastian (2/5): Avoid! - Dated room with peeling wallpaper, lukewarm water, and small uncomfortable bed. Certainly not worth £90. Dinner was shocking, and can only be described as a congealed bowl of slob. Meals were returned to the kitchen uneaten, but the £26 were not refunded. Breakfast was ok, but served on a dirty table with last night's drink stains on it. The only saving grace were the friendly and welcoming staff.
- John (4/5): - 1st room given was being decorated, had to settle for a twin, beds uncomfortable, room needed a refurb.
odour smell on landing.
- Peter (2/5): Very basic and poor I would avoid - Did not serve food- room was very basic paper thin walls you can hear people talking in the room next to you and the tv. Shower was a waste of time - would not stay here again
- Lynne (8/5): Value for money - Staff were very accommodating room adequate but in need of a refurbishment
- Liam (10/5): - Great place good food and a good nights sleep
- Ian (2/5): The worst hotel ever. Horrible stay. - Absolutely horrendous experience. No TV in the room and no working WIFI. The worlds most uncomfortable bed. Idiots making a hell of a noise until the early hours. Awful beer and rubbish food. And worse- paid for breakfast. Waited 40 mins and no show by the staff. So no breakfast, even though I paid for it. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
- Richard (10/5): Great stopover near motorway - Excellent for the one night stay while travelling.
- Harry (10/5): - This is a beautiful Property, and the manager is working hard to update and clean the hotel as funds allow, the staff are very helpful and friendly.
would use again without hesitation.
Harry.
- Catherine (8/5): Great food - rooms need work - Last minute trip with the grandkids. Lovely pub/restuarant, food delicious - rooms basic and in need of maintenance and mattresses definately need upgrading!. The management and staff were lovely. This place has the makings of being a top class establishment - just needs some TLC from the owners.
- Nick (8/5): Great Stay - A really nice stay. Room was clean and functional. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Free WiFi, and toiletries. For the price you couldn’t wish for more I would say.
- Nigel (2/5): Never again - The room No 1 was horrendous only able to open 1 window climb over desk to open the other was broken. Bathroom blind already broken on the floor. Full english means 1 sausage 1 bacon 1 piece toast 1egg 3 mushrooms 1 spoon beans 1 cup of coffee
- Joanne (6/5): Disappointed - The cleanliness if the room was good but walking through the hotel furniture and carpets need cleaning and then the standard would be a lot better
- sharon (6/5): Ok hotel - It was ok
- Sandra (10/5): Great - Really well run place and the staff are lovely. the breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is really pleasent place to stay.
- Darren (8/5): - The hotel was a great base for what me and my partner and friend needed and was close to the event we was going to,the manager told that there would be no breakfast the next day due to covid to some of her staff and could not apologise enough and knocked £20 off each of our bills so fair enough and in the current climate it happens. The only downside is that the mattress in the rooms was really really thin and did not make for a good night's sleep, so maybe some investment into some new ones and a new seal on the shower screen so the water doesn't run onto the floor other than this it was fine and would probably stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We’d had fantastic stay
The welcoming and service were fantastic

- Jerry (8/5): Friendly host - Extremely helpful & friendly host.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Needs a facelift - On first impressions,it looked nice, but on seeing our room things soon changed. Room was nothing like the photo on the website, ours was very small, and the shower was boiling hot and took ages to sort out the right temperature. The sandwiches we had were nice, but on eating a hard bit of sausage one of my caps came off my tooth. Was woken up early in the morning by someone shouting at their dog in the hotel grounds. When we went for breakfast, the butter was rock hard, I had to use my lighter to melt it!! Finally,as we were going to the racecourse for our evening out we noticed that it was 12 miles away instead of the 8 miles it says on the website,if we had known this we wouldn't of stayed there. Not worth the£80.50 we had to pay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Give a miss. - I was told I had the posh room. Would hate to see the others. There were dead bugs all over windowsill and a few on the bed too. I inspected materes and was ok, did find quite a few long black hairs on pillows.
The bathroom floor was disgusting the toilet base looked like it had excrement around it. Would not stay again.
- Paul (2/5): Bathroom Dump - Upon arriving in my tiny room I went into the bathroom and it was disgusting. A used plaster on the floor used shower gel still left in the shower the complimentary shower and hair gel where half used. Went to use the shower and it dripped out had to take the shower head off the clasp and try wash that way. There was grout missing all over to be blunt it’s was disgusting. On a positive note the bar area is nice and the evening staff were very friendly.
