Caroline (10/5): In this centrally located, interestingly designed boutique hotel you can enjoy some added extras such as a rooftop terra - It was quiet, had a great breakfast and lots of facilities to make it enjoyable Nothing
Alexsandra (4/5): Beware of last minute charges - The property was nice, but our room felt stuffy. Our room was on the ground floor and didn’t have any windows or ceiling fan. They charged a $42 fee to pay with credit card. I stayed in multiple hotels all over Bolivia, this was the only time I had a charge like this. What’s worse, I was made to find out about the charge minutes before my pre booked taxi was picking me up. It definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. The stay was nice up until that point. It felt shady, especially since the front desk told me it was MY bank that was charging me. Clearly it’s the system that the hotel uses, which is unfair to the guest. If there is a credit card fee, the hotel should tell you at the time of booking. When I book on Bookings.com, I expect to pay the price that I agreed to online. This was the only time that this wasn’t the case. If I had known this, I would have brought cash from home or just chosen a different hotel altogether.
Ibalu (10/5): Super lovely hotel in the heart of Sucre, perfect for a romantic getaway! - Beautiful and unique hotel in the heart of Sucre, just a few blocks away from the main plaza. The rooms were so comfortable and cozy, the restaurant in the inner courtyard was lovely and had an amazing breakfast which was included, and the staff were all super kind and helpful!! We also took the opportunity to use the spa option which was very relaxing. Our shower got clogged by the end of our stay.

Lucile (9/5): Parfait - Le confort de la chambre, le service sauna et jacuzzi, la localisation et le petit déjeuner ont rendu notre séjour parfait. Il est indiqué sur booking un service spa avec massage, mais en réalité il s’agit d’un service extérieur à l’hôtel qui n’est pas du tout à la hauteur. J’ai dépensé 20€ pour un massage où il n’y avait pas de technique et qui clairement m’a fait plus de mal que de bien. Je conseille vivement à l’hôtel de retirer ces prestations sur booking au risque de décevoir d’autres voyageurs.

Lors du check-in, on nous a imposé un paiement en USD, sans aucune justification valable en nous donnant lexcuse que la situation en Bolivie etait tendue. En refusant, la réceptionniste a appliqué un taux de change totalement abusif (plus de 14 au lieu de 8), ce qui augmentait la facture de plus de 2000 BOB. Elle a expliqué que le propriétaire, étant européen, l’obligeait à suivre ses « exigences ». Face à cette pratique malhonnête, nous avons préféré annuler immédiatement notre séjour et avons trouvé un hôtel bien à côté. Vraiment dommage : un accueil pareil gâche totalement l’expérience.

Jahn (6/5): Schlechtes Preis-Leistung Verhältnis - - Lage - Terrasse - Zimmer extrem klein und sehr dunkel, um zu lüften musste man ein kleines Fenster an der Eingangstür aufmachen oder die Eingangstür ganz aufmachen. - Dusche hat stark gerochen - neben unserem Zimmer war der Whirlpool, wo Leute bis 22 Uhr es benutzen konnten. Es war extrem laut!!! Sowas geht gar nicht wenn man schlafen möchte. - Frühstück war na ja, Omelette trotz mehrmaliges hinweisen trotzdem nicht durch! Wurde hinterher erneut in die Pfanne getan und trotzdem nicht durch. - Restaurant und Bar war bei unserem Aufenthalt nur bis 12 Uhr mittags besetzt. Somit war das einlösen vom Wellcomes Drink etwas schwierig. - An der Rezeption kennen sich die Mitarbeiter wenig aus und können keine Tips geben, wo man essen kann usw… - den überzogenen Zimmerpreis mussten wir in Dollars zahlen

Jacuzzi et sauna gratuits en bonus + cocktail de bienvenue pris sur la terrasse au coucher du soleil. A l'arrivée en debut d'après-midi nous avons pu échanger nos petits-déjeuners du lendemain matin contre un brunch delicieux et réparateur. Nos bagages ont été gardés gratuitement le jour de notre depart. Rien, tout etait parfait.

Susanne (9/5): Gorgeous property, great location with beautifully decorated rooms. - Beautiful large rooms with lovely decor and fabulous open style bathrooms. Comfortable bed and warm rooms. Lovely little roof terrace to relax on and beautiful inner covered courtyard restaurant for breakfast. It was great value for the level of comfort. Be aware that you would only want to share a room with your partner or very close family due to open bathroom design. Staff only spoke Spanish. Spa area needed to be booked a few hours in advance and when we tried to book a massage they never got back to us. Coffee machine in room - but without coffee pods and they said they hadn’t any. When I wanted to ask for a coffee from the bar they said only one was included with breakfast and others were chargeable. Gave very small complimentary water on first day - but didn’t refill for 2nd day. The above are just really small points that could be improved - but overall I would highly recommend the ON hotel and we loved our stay and felt it was a really lovely property.

Peter (10/5): A great stylish and comfortable place to stay in Sucre - This was our favourite hotel in Bolivia by a long way; the hotel it’s facilities and the staff were all top-notch. It was really comfortable and very welcoming. The staff were very helpful and set up the sauna and Jacuzzi for us. We would love to go back and stay again.
Richard (7/5): Beautiful property but not suitable for our needs - The property and the room was so beautiful and comfortable. The staff was so very friendly and accommodating to us. Unfortunately our room was not suitable for the price. This had nothing to do with the general upkeep of the hotel. The windows were not sealed and the smell of petrol from the street completely consumed the entire room. There was also no noise proofing because of that. We traveled very far to start our journey in Bolivia at an upscale property in Sucre and this led to very unrestful sleep.

Calum (10/5): Top hotel in Sucre - The room was beautifully designed and was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The location was excellent, with easy access to all attractions in Sucre, while being sufficiently far from the main square to be quiet and relaxed. There is a great roof terrace with views across the city. The breakfast was à la carte and had a range of delicious options to choose from.
Jeronia (10/5): Best value hotel in Sucre. - Beautiful and comfortable hotel, set in a traditional Spanish colonial house, fully renovated. Breakfast is served in the restaurant located in the wonderful central courtyard. We had two excellent dinners there as well.

When the sauna door was open and the windows in the gallery were closed, all the hot steam was flowing directly into our room when we had our windows open which was not ideal. A door in between the spa and the rooms would prevent this problem.

Angela (10/5): Great experience! - The hotel staff was very accommodating - above and beyond, and also the restaurant staff was exceptional! Room was clean and comfortable. Big complimentary breakfast with vegan options (fruit, bread, peanut butter/ jam, fresh juices, soy milk for cereal/coffee). Loved the big windows to view the city and hills. Enjoyed massage at the spa. I didn't have time to use it, but it's nice that they have a gym on the first/mall level available. Convenient location - we walked everywhere.

Modern and clean bathrooms. The room was spotless. Food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was fab. Lovely coffee. The location is amazing!! The view from the terrace is just beautiful. Our safe didn’t seem to work. The sauna and jacuzzi are in a corridor. It is quiet and on the third floor but a little less privacy then some may like. The lock on our door seemed to be almost falling off. Needs to be fixed. These were not big issues

Jeannie (8/5): Really enjoyed our trip to Sucre & as we live in La Paz, would probably stay in this hotel again. - The location was good, just a short walk to the main plaza, surrounding shops, markets & other restaurants. The breakfast was OK. I would recommend the fruit, yogurt & granola -- it was delicious. We didn't use the sauna or the spa bath on the top floor so we can't comment on that but we really enjoyed the roof-top terrace, where on the second evening, we had our dinner & wine (which were both excellent & very reasonably priced) & the gas fire pit was lit for us. Beautiful views of the sunset, stars & the city lights as it got dark. The bed was very comfortable & the bed linen & towels were top quality & spotlessly clean. We had room 2 (double bed) on the ground floor. It was a little noisy from 1. The traffic at the crossroads & 2. Music & people in the courtyard having food & beverages. Most of the traditional hotels in Sucre are similar with the rooms around an inner atrium so this might be an issue whatever room you had. There was no problem when I asked for the music to be turned down. Be aware that on Mondays (the day we arrived) although we could check-in, the bar & restaurant were closed as it was the day off for the kitchen staff. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. However, there were areas of the room, especially 'under' pieces of furniture that were not!
Shana (9/5): Georgeous and relaxing. - Beautiful setup! Amazing breakfast. Loved the courtesy cocktails. So relaxing. Because heat was not working well in our room, we were moved to a bigger room where heat worked better. Would have liked more heating throughout the hotel. One of the morning workers in the restaurant was fairly rude. Everyone else was spectacular.
Tatiana (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was quite spacious, and it has everything you need. The staff is very friendly and ready to help with any question. The breakfasts are incredible, as is the whole menu of the restaurant located in the hotel (we several times preferred to have dinner here instead of looking for other restaurants in the city, because the food is really delicious). The territory of the hotel itself is also very pleasant, and the roof terrace gives a beautiful view of the city. We also used the sauna and jacuzzi, which were prepared especially for us. We would love to stay here again.

A fabulous terrace overlooking Sucre to relax and unwind! The beds are super comfortable and each room has heating! I also enjoyed the food selection very much! great breakfast menu and also several dishes to chose from during the day, can be highly recommend! The hotel has a great relaxing atmosphere and free sauna and jacuzzi available when you book in advance. as they are on the top floor you can easily get out and relax at the terrace afterwards. highly recommend the place! one of my best stays in Bolivia!
Livia (10/5): A beautiful property in downtown Sucre - We booked two rooms for three nights in this exquisite property. The hotel has a wonderful patio, with tables and chairs, elegantly furnished and covered by a glass roof. The open terrace on the top floor has a fantastic view over the city, and there is a sauna and a whirlpool, which we used multiple times. The restaurant serves a great, a la carte breakfast, and we can also recommend it for dinner. The best, however, were our rooms (#2 and #3, on the ground floor). One of the rooms had a glass flooring, illuminated from below the floor - a unique design! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious. The hotel is located within 5min walk to the main square and the main sights of Sucre. If you are sensitive to noise, you may want to ask for a room not facing the street, as there is heavy traffic around. Nothing. Highly recommended!

Irina (9/5): Best option for staying in Sucre! - Everything! The room, the decor, the location, the reception staff, (almost) everything was exceptional. We could even use the spa facilities just by ourselves, and they were really great. The view on the shared/public balcony was also very outstanding. Upon check-in we asked for vegan options at the restaurant on site and were told that it should be no problem. At the restaurant, there were no vegan options on the menu and the only thing they offered us is a salad with basically removing everything apart the greens, even the dressing (and still paying full). Very disappointing, since the restaurant had pasta which usually can be made vegan very easily, but I guess they just were not interested in serving us at that time. To be fair: We got a great vegan alternative for breakfast, not sure why it was no problem at all in the morning, but for dinner it was.

Anuj (8/5): Good location and comfortable beds - The hotel was extremely well located and the rooms were very comfortable. Our travel plans changed due to some flight changes and we were arriving sooner than originally planned. I wrote to the hotel and they were accommodating in getting us a room before the check-in time. Even though it was at an extra cost, we highly appreciated having a room to sleep in after five flights to get to Sucre! The room itself was quite beautifully done. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had one of the best sleeps in Bolivia here, even though the noise from outside was quite a lot at night. The breakfast was delicious and the lunch we ate at the hotel's in-house restaurant was one of the best we had in Sucre. Overall, the stay was really good. The soundproofing of the rooms is quite poor. During the day, strangely enough the streets were pretty quiet, but after sundown and all the way past midnight the noise from the streets was a lot. This made it difficult to stay asleep.
Anuj (6/5): Inconsistent staff leads to inconsistent experience - This was our second stay, but longer, at the hotel. The first stay was really good, with the staff being extremely helpful and friendly so that set the expectations for us. But unfortunately, the second stay was a bit of a mixed bag. I had just been discharged from a hospital and needed a ground floor room. I wrote to the hotel before arrival and they helped organize this. I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate this. The room was very comfortable and, of course, the location of the hotel is really good. As mentioned, this second stay was a bit of a mixed bag. The staff were mostly indifferent and inconsistent during this stay (except for the gentleman who helped carry our luggage - he was consistently helpful and considerate). During breakfast the first time we stayed at the hotel, they said we could exchange the juices mention in the menu with other ones. This time around they denied us and said it could only be done with an extra charge. We were fine with this. But then, we got only one croissant for breakfast between the two dishes we had even though our previous experience was that we got one for each person. When asked, we were told that only one would be provided. It was these kind of inconsistencies within their own policies that were quite surprising and off-putting. The first time we stayed, the food was delicious, but this time around everything was either bland or over-salted and a simple breakfast order took over 45 mins to prepare. We know the hotel and its staff can be great, we experienced it the first time - but be prepared for inconsistent service and policies/procedures made up based on what they feel like at that moment. The room we had this time was different from the first, but even this room was loud at night. So soundproofing is an issue it seems across the hotel in general.
Antoine (4/5): Service is a shame / Food is bad - The hotel and bedrooms are very charming and very well decorated despite smaller than pictures shows and without windows for some of them( only velux). Very nice terrace. Service is a shame and we cumulated the issues during these 2 days. Jacuzzi booked in advanced but not ready on time (40mns late) and water was boiling we lost 20mns more to add fresh water... Restaurant was closed when we arrived at 20h30( supposed to close at midnight...) we complaint and they finally accepted to serve us but we had to leave without eating as food was not fresh (bread harsh like stone, ravioli very dry, rancid ricotta, etc...). We have not been able to eat this evening as it was to late to move to another restaurant. Sauna is globally too cold and permanently moving from "cold to hot" Last day, the shower was cold. Breakfast is very average, with industrial and stale bread . Despite all these issues no commercial action or try to improve... Definitely not 5 stars hotel...

Susan (10/5): - This is a stunning boutique hotel. It is beautifully designed retaining its colonial heritage. A lot of thought has been put into the detailed design of the rooms and communal areas. The rooms are spacious and very deluxe. I loved the bath! The bed is extremely comfortable with good quality linen. The roof terrace is an added bonus. The breakfast is great. The service from all the staff was excellent. The location is ideal and only a short walk from the main square. There is also a bistro attached to the hotel, which is very good. I wish I could have stayed longer than my 4 nights!
