• Stephen (10/5): Superb stay - Amazing guest house in historic set of buildings. Host was superb and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were superb. Bedroom and bathroom were spotless, well furnished and tastefully decorated. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it.

Decoration and furnishings beautiful. Bed and chairs very comfortable and lots of space to relax. Bath a delight. Courtyard beautiful for the summer. Location excellent. Very quiet to relax. Hosts friendly and helpful.
• Judith (10/5): Unique property with excellent hospitality! - A great welcome by Karen into their stunning home with tea and biscuits in the residents sitting room! Our bedroom was very well furnished and excellent taste in decor with pieces of antique furniture. Very comfortable bed, super large bathroom with amenities. Wonderful breakfast selection in an amazing dining room… the Cornmill is a unique and fascinating property with the mill water wheel on show through a secure glass viewing area! What is no5 to love?!!

• J (10/5): Comfortable accommodation to explore the area - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kirkbymoorside, and was pleased with the cottage we chose. It’s in a great location for exploring moors, coast and city. The property comprises self catering and B&B rooms around a lovely courtyard. It is all very nicely presented and maintained. Breakfast is at an additional charge if you’re in a cottage. The facilities were good for self catering …. Little extras like hand wash, loo roll and bin liners were already there which I wasn’t expecting. The owner, Karen was really helpful and informative…. Keen that her guests had a good stay. Don’t go home without eating at the Feathers and Beak (5 mins walk)…book in advance though.

• Ann (10/5): LOVELY STAY - Stayed 3 nights at The Cornmill. We had a lovely room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious and Karen was a perfect host. We walked into Kirbymoorside each evening for a meal and drink, it was a short enjoyable walk. Whilest there we visited: Hutton-le-Hole, Lastingham, Helmsley, Whitby and The Ryedale Show. Our stay was just perfect. Thank you Karen.

The accommodation was very tastefully decorated and full of character. The hosts very friendly. Best Eating out, the Blacksmiths Arms at Lastingham Booking a good idea.

The attention to detail in every little bit of our stay (including the chocolate eggs left in our room when we stayed at Easter) was impressive and we felt welcomed and well-cared for by our hosts. Perfect location for our plans that weekend and a fantastic place to stay. Hosts Karen and Chris were brilliant, the room was perfect alongside the amazing cooked breakfast each morning too. If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway in a place with character and history in a beautiful part of the country then The Cornmill ticks all those boxes!

The quality of the accommodation is very good, except perhaps for the weight of bedding in Summer, and the whole site is full of character. The quality and choice of Breakfast is great and the service outstanding, especially in the current situation. There are plenty of locations and activities to occupy your time. Thank you for a most enjoyable three days.

The owners, Karen & Chris, made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was warm and comfortable, and the breakfasts freshly cooked and with plenty of choice. The Cornmill was maintained to a high standard, the room and bathroom clean and well stocked. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay.
