- Stephen (10/5): - It is hard to describe how special Grasteinn Guesthouse is. Heldur and Siggi own and manage the business and also the working farm where the property is located. We received a personal greeting upon arrival and joined them at dinner with some other guests. We stayed in one of the two cabins on the property which could not have been nicer. Breakfast was terrific as well. The perfect summary of how we felt about our stay was that we felt the need to hug Heldur when we left! Suffice to say that you will NOT be disappointed when you stay there!

The cottage that we stayed in was very well-designed, very clean, and the owners had thought of everything that we might need. It was really perfect. Our 8-year old was so excited to meet the dogs, and he especially loved visiting the sheep house and meeting Athena and the rest of the flock. Breakfast the next morning was in the main house and was exactly what we'd hoped it would be--delicious, filling, and friendly. We couldn't have enjoyed it more--we hope to be back as soon as possible!

I had a small accident with a nail going through my hand (my own fault), and Hildur went out of her way to treat my wound, apply antibacterial cream, etc. - something way out of the normal job description of a property owner. Also, beautiful place, very comfortable, and fantastic breakfast. Highly recommend.

- esther (10/5): Meet the real Iceland... - This was an amazing experience. The family that owns/runs the guesthouse is very friendly and so knowledgeable in everything local. From sheep farming, local wildlife, geology of Iceland. You name it...and they happily share their knowledge. We had wonderful conversations with both. They are also very welcoming and allow usage of the kitchen, laundry (small charge) and are happy to help with anything you need. Such a different experience from staying at a hotel and definitely worth it.

It's slightly hard to find at night but I almost left when I arrived late but the staff ran out to get me when I was already down the street.. The view was phenomenal. Definitely will come back to this place
