Guest Reviews
- Jeffrey (7/5): Good clean affordable lodgings for a weekend stay in the mountains - Convenient location. Clean. Room reasonably appointed. Best value for the cost of any hotel in the area. Room was a bit small. Not a problem for a single occupant for a weekend stay, but it would feel cramped in my opinion for a couple. Although rooms have fridge and microwave, and there is a full guest kitchen, the ice machine is sorely inadequate. I mention it because this is an expected amenity even in budget hotels.

- eric olson (10/5): - Nice place to rest. Clean rooms. Very comfortable. Easy self check-in and combo no loat keys
- Molly (8/5): - Very close to Sunday River, clean and cozy Bathroom was a little small, cereal was out of stock, but overall happy with my stay

- Henri (6/5): We like the value and the property location, close to Sunday River. - The owner is always attentive and on property. If there is a problem he tries best to accommodate and resolve. We have stayed there numerous times because of the value and proximity to Sunday River. There were some plumbing issues that did not get resolved during our stay. As I said, the owner was addressing the issue, however it was not resolved.
- Judith (7/5): Pet-friendly, clean, and convenient lodging. - Location - convenient to where we needed to be. Was able to bring my pet. Keurig coffee and tea available 24/7. Bathroom renovation was nicely done. Liked having microwave and small refrigerator. Being on ground floor next to the parking lot, I wasn't comfortable keeping the front blinds open. Felt a bit closed in because of this. Wished there were more options for breakfast. Only instant oatmeal available.
- Don (3/5): Overpriced, bordering on run down - Easy to find. Absentee owner/manager -- I don't think any staff was onsite during our stay which made us feel less secure. Chain lock on door is pathetic -- I locked it and my wife pulled the entire trim piece the locked was fastened to from the wall just by opening the door normally. Horrid security situation the owner/manager already knew of. No heat -- no heat in the 3rd week of October? Strange. Very close to the road -- we had some road noise, probably not excessive but during peak this could be a hard place to sleep. Weird Breakfast -- maybe this is oriented toward AT hikers there was a kitchen experience but we were not sure of the cleanliness of the provided service ware and the age of things like cream cheese in the fridge. Hikers might like the washer/dryer (I think there was a separate charge) tho we didn't see any soap/softener. Also pricey for a hiker that would need a shuttle to/from the trail.
- Deborah (7/5): -
- Marty (10/5): Great -
- Jessica (10/5): - Secure clean room. Aaron is wonderful
- Vasiliy (6/5): -
- Balla (8/5): Thank you - Price Towels and breakfast

- Philip (10/5): very accommodating, very clean, very comfortable no issues what - Nice kitchen area, room itself was very comfortable large spacious very clean beds with memory foam very nice all There seem to be nobody around and everything was done yourself but apparently people would be available if you rang for them somewhere. But that's not negative I shouldn't say it's something negative
- Rebecca (9/5): - Location, cleanliness, comfort, communication...
- sheri (5/5): You get what you pay for…sort of! - Good location. Access to laundry facilities. Adequate USB ports for charging devices. Affordable, compared to other places in the area, at a high-demand time of year. Small, dark, bare-bones room. No decor at all. Thin walls, so we had to put on noisy air conditioner to drown out noise, even though it was cold out. Most uncomfortable mattress that we’ve ever slept on. We realized that it was a popular time of year, so the rates were going to be high, but we’ve never paid as much to stay in a place that was this basic.
- Malcolm (9/5): An excellent stopping option in the White Mountains area. Great value for money. - Very easy to find. Not noisy, despite being next to a quite busy road.
- Angiolo (8/5): 1 Notte a Bethel - The hotel is nice and has convenient parking in front of the room. It's just a short walk from the town center (which can still be reached by car). Having a room (shared with hotel guests) with a kitchen is very convenient. The room is nice and quite comfortable. Overall, a good experience
- William (9/5): Top-notch motel above the standard. - Very nice clean and modern facilities. Easy automated check in
- Steve (10/5): - Very nice and extremely convenient. Check-in and out was a breeze and communication was great.
- NAN (10/5): - Great location. Easy drive to state parks. Breakfast included
- Aneta (8/5): - Bathroom could be a little cleaner and could use some updating. No cream cheese left for breakfast. Otherwise everything else was very good.
- Joyce (10/5): We were very pleased with the experience. - simplicity, full sized fridge, shared kitchen was clean, the laminate flooring, comfortable beds no idea
- Allan (4/5): Bad Check In - bed was ok The check in process was awful
No one at front desk to check us in, yo way to get in room
Breakfast was really bad, not much there.
- Debra (8/5): - This was a good home base for hiking.
- LORI (10/5): - Nice place
- Brenda (9/5): - Reasonable clean
- Vladislav (10/5): Top notch - One of the nicest cleanest updated places I have stayed in Central Maine.
- Emily (10/5): - Can’t wait to come back!
- Sarah (10/5): - Great location and affordable for this area. Comfortable. Away from town, but close enough for restaurants etc. I will definitely stay here again.
- אוהב ציון (8/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Nice - Easy check in, clean rooms, easy check out.
- MacDonald (7/5): Not fancy, but a decent place for an overnight if you are not handicapped. - We liked that the room had a small fridge and microwave, ice bucket, glasses, a table to eat at w/chairs. There were sufficient outlets to charge our phones. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash attached to the wall (as we've seen in top-rated hotels), There were plenty of towels and wash cloths. The water pressure in the shower was AWESOME!! The room had a window AC unit which we simply put on "fan" for the night and it was just right. The bed was too firm for me. I had a rough night sleeping. If we ever return, we would have to bring a mattress topper. The shower had no grab bars. I didn't expect any ADA amenities, but grab bars in the shower would have been appreciated. I realize the motel does not advertise handicapped rooms so I wasn't expecting much. My husband is handicapped so he was unable to take a shower. He knelt on the floor and washed his hair under the faucet. A hand held shower attachment would have been helpful. The bathroom vinyl floor had an area of torn vinyl which created the appearance of a hole. It made the room look run-down. The bathroom sink was wobbly.
- Douglas (8/5): Good stay - This was an enjoyable stay. Comfortable and clean. Room a bit small, but we made that work for us
- Lindsey (6/5): - This place is fine. The bed frame is very creaky and the bed isn’t very comfortable. The sheets looked clean but the duvet cover did not…fortunately we had our own blanket with us to use. The ac smelled moldy or something? We just opened the windows instead, which was nice. The shower was good and hot, always nice when shampoo and such is included, and the tv was huge and had lots of channels before even logging into any streaming services. It is nice that you can grab a bagel from the common kitchen area. The location is great, and the price is inexpensive compared to other spots in the area that don’t look as nice. Walls are pretty thin, but it’s an ok spot for one night.
- Nancy (5/5): - Lit trop mou, très inconfortable.
- Bengt (7/5): -
- Claire (8/5): Very good - Kitchen
- Susan (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Friendly staff, combination locks sent to email so no office check in and out needed was time saving, nice community kitchen, fast wifi. N/A
- Kimberly (8/5): - I never saw a person while there. Check in was via messenger, as was check out. My room was plenty big, though the bath tub was not large enough for an adult to relax in... Not that I was looking for a bath. The shower did the trick.... I will certainly stay there again if I need to be in Bethel.
- Juan (9/5): Great location for what we want do in the area. - Breakfast was a plus quick and easy.
- Joanna (6/5): - The property was minimalist. The room was clean and motel seemed upgraded. I booked a month in advance for two beds as this was a getaway for a friend and I. The room I got was one bedroom. There is no live person on the premises so I called the number and he answered immediately. I explained and he said he had a room but it would only be for one night and we had booked 2 nights. He told us the room was already booked the following night and we would need to find other lodging. It sounded like a farce to us too. The place was completely empty except for us! We looked! Not a place I would book again ever. We also couldn’t get the TV to work at all.
- Kevin (10/5): Always resting at WeBeMotel - West Bethel Motel is one of my favorite Motels to visit and stay when I’m in the mountains to get away from city life!
- Patricia (6/5): - No code received to enter room at check-in time at 4 pm. Had to call to get it. Owner made excuses, but not actual apology. Room poorly lit, including dim bulb in bathroom. While free bagel and coffee for breakfast, will not stay there again.
- Lacey (10/5): - Easy to check in and out. Convenient location.
- David (8/5): - Older motor court motel undergoing some renovations. Full room amenities, limited food options. Good room fair price.
- Chandler (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frederick (8/5): - Great proximity to the things I want to do, so I’ll stay there again. . . Old fashioned roadside motel: pull right up to your room and the main road is 25 yards away which means you will hear that early morning trucks traffic. . Aaron, the owner and host, is really attentive to any questions or concerns.
- Alan (8/5): Would use again - Comfortable bed. Nice linens. Very clean bathroom. Plenty of plush towels Road noise
- Mary (8/5): - This is a fine small motel. It is close to the road and there can be traffic noise. Having the kitchen facility is a big plus. My only problem was that I was given the incorrect keyless entry code. Thank goodness that this was finally realized after the owner was able to get in and I was still not. He finally said the code he was using out loud and I realized that it has numbers reversed to what I was using. I have stayed here before and will again probably as it is inexpensive but clean and close to the event I attend. Again, the kitchen use is a big plus to eating out.
- Hilary (10/5): Ski trip to Sunday River - Easy check in and check out by text message and code-lock on door. Very clean. Perfect size for a couple, and dog friendly! Less than 15 mins from Sunday River. Check out sugar shack up the street, great burgers right next door! Nothing to dislike! GREAT value!!
- Tyrell (10/5): perfect for what we were looking for! - comfy, felt new, clean, safe…. Nicest motel I have ever been in! No personal interaction, but it was fine with how the set up was!
- Jennifer (10/5): - The owners did a great job thinking of everything from microwave fridge good heating and nice little amenities like glasses and a Google Nest display. Love the keyless entry. Excellent place!
- Eric (10/5): - Place was great, thank you.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Stacie (10/5): - They were very helpful with last minute changes we required for our stay.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - I liked how clean and well supplied it was, however, the walls are very thin and it was possible to hear everything in the ajoining rooms, as well as the traffic outside. A very good stay for the money though!
- Skyler (10/5): - Nice spot right near ski resort quaint motel
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (7/5): Good - Nice basic place near the slopes Beds were very uncomfortable
- Leanna (10/5): Comfortable and Easy Access to Sunday River - Thank you for bringing back basic cable to the TV! The room was nice and comfortable. Easy access to Sunday River.
- Antonette (10/5): - Convenient place as out stop place to rest from traveling before snow boarding the next day.
- Owen (10/5): - Very nice spot along Route 2. Just outside of Bethel and Sunday River. We had a fun weekend getting away. Would come back and stay here.
- Nate (10/5): I had a wonderful time being hosted by West Bethel Motel, being away from home and finding a place as affordable as this - Convenience and affordable Nothing
- Scott (8/5): Great, affordable way to take a ski weekend! - The staff were friendly and very helpful. The space was big enough for two people, especially with the access to the full kitchen- pots, pans, utensils available if you want to cook any meals. There are also some self service breakfast options- bagels, cream cheese, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea. Our room also had a good sized mini fridge which comfortably stored our food. The rooms and shared space were clean and welcoming. We definitely will return here! Nothing, everything was great!
- Carlos (8/5): - If you’re going for a ski trip and need a clean comfortable room this is your place. Simple check in and close to Sunday River
- Richard (10/5): - Nice room
- Martin (9/5): Good value and location - Comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom Available broadcast TV channels. Hulu did not work away from my home location
- Brajan (10/5): - everything was perfect would definitely book again
- Jeff (10/5): - Perfect location if you. Are going to ski at Sunday river.
- Ben (10/5): - They had everything we needed. It is now one of my favorite places and I will stay here again.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - A quiet, comfortable experience at a price well below properties a few miles closer to Sunday River.
- Titus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (8/5): Clean simple motel with some extra amenities - Appreciated the access to full kitchen. Made meal
Prep much easier.
Liked having fridge and microwave in room. Room was very clean and comfortable. Very convenient to Bethel. They also allowed dogs which was critical to our decision to stay there Not much soundproofing between rooms. We were there 3 nights. 2 were fine ;
One had someone next door on Osborne and we could hear the conversation which was not pleasant
- Connor (8/5): - Great customer service! Cozy motel and very clean.
- Ivan (3/5): Poor - Ok for one night of sleep. Nothing more Dirty , too big price for place like this one
- Colleen (10/5): - Easy check in and clean. Would definitely stay again
- Lewis (8/5): Very good -
- keith (10/5): - Aron was a excellent host
- Mary Ann (10/5): - Convenient to Sunday River!
- Kevin (10/5): Great Stay - Always a great stay-Friendly and welcoming
- Tohfa (8/5): Very good - They had plenty of options for breakfast. Depending on the location, this place was really convenient. There's nothing so far.
- Ed (6/5): Noisy! Noisy! Noisy! - I booked my room at 2pm and got to it at 315pm. No one works there.
A sign said they send a text message with door code and room #. They did not. Neither email or text. I called the number and a person said checkin was 4pm. He must be new because cleary said 3pm on hotels.com.
He said he would be there at 4pm but eventually decided to remotely open my room which worked fine.
I did get a text around 5pm.
This was a fairly large motel with outside doors for most units but 4 rooms were in an annex with breakfast room. They put everyone in that small section.
My room was directly across from breakfast room.
I had hiked all morning and was exhausted and just wanted a nap.
I slept from 330pm to 5pm when the breakfast room became party central. A bunch of loud people drinking, shouting, and watching TV. This went on from 5pm to 11pm then got quiet but started up again at 4am and went to 530am when they left.
I doubt any of theses people were paying guests. They were probably locals that knew there was not a manager on premises so came gere to party. They probably slept in breakfast room.
I got up at 9am and went to breakfast room to have the continental breakfast. There was no breakfast stuff in fridge. Only beer, hot sauce and other random food. No juice or cold water.
I couldnt eat anything without something cold to drink to just left.
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Probably wouldn't stay again - The West Bethel Motel is pitched as a "Smart Motel" which is a fancy way of saying there is no staff on site, check-in is done remotely. They email you your room number and an access code to get in. Unfortunately, we arrived at 3:05 and the email (from Hotels.com) didn't arrive until 3:23. This was annoying, but there may not be a delay if you book directly.
The room was small but very clean, and the exterior and grounds were clean also. The TV was confusing to use and no instructions were provided. The shower was nice and hot and the pressure was fine. The walls were paper thin and we could hear every move from the person next door as well as every vehicle that passed by on Route 2. The fan on the A/C unit was very loud but at least drowned it out. The mattress was uncomfortable and we both woke up with backaches. The pillows were hard and flat. We appreciated the free breakfast which included bagels, coffee, cereal and oatmeal. We also appreciated that we were able to bring our dog with us (which was why we chose this motel.)
Bottom line - too much focus on technology and not enough on basic comforts.
- Quezia (9/5): Superb -
- Virginia E (10/5): - Unique where a well-appointed kitchen/dining area is found via doors on the left of the entry hall.
Room is nicely decorated, bed very comfortable, bathroom stylish with pedestal sink, framed mirror, waterfall shower.
Out back fire pits and space to enjot
- Bonnie (10/5): Great Find - This was a great overnight stop on our trip. The owner was helpful, knowledgeable, and really cares about his guests.
- Mark (8/5): Great value for money stay, extremely clean and comfortable in a great location. - Great value for money for anyone visiting Bethel and surrounding areas. New owner is tech savvy and we enjoyed remote check-in and check out. Room was extremely clean and comfortable with two queen beds. Onsite kitchen is superb where you can simply enjoy a coffee or cook a family meal if required such are the facilities. Great location for those travellers enjoying outside activities locally and there is an onsite laundry room to wash any clothes dirtied in the stunning countryside.
- Nirav (10/5): - Nice little motel. Never saw a staff person. Was texted about the simple check in method. And thankful it was pet friendly too.
- Cindy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carl (9/5): Superb -
- kitter101 (10/5): - This property has room available last night was a good stay clean
- Karen (8/5): - Long way out of town so quiet
