Guest Reviews
- Anthea (9/5): Great for a stay in Bath, lovely walk into town, welcoming host and overall great stay - What a wonderful stay in a beautiful period home. The property was ornately decorated, cosy and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches including robes, water, wine and biscuits provided in the room. The room was lovely and warm, and the large bathroom was spotless — honestly no complaints at all.
Richard was a warm, welcoming and charismatic host with a great sense of humour who made us feel immediately at home. Breakfast served in the dining room was sumptuous, with a delicious continental spread in a stunning room filled with antiques. The traditional table setting made the whole experience feel elegant and sophisticated.
Such a fun stay, even if too short — would highly recommend staying here. Nothing

Our host was wonderful and made us feel welcome. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was huge. We had the best sleep and a beautiful continental breakfast! We couldn’t find anything to fault.
- Marina (10/5): the best of the best - This is the best hotel we've ever stayed in in the UK! The atmosphere is steeped in history and reminiscent of Jane Austen, who likely visited this castle. Every detail here speaks to the uniqueness and inimitability of this place.
Our arrival was simply magical. From the very first moment, we were captivated by the beauty and sophistication of the hotel. The room exceeded all our expectations: it was incredibly cozy, spotlessly clean, and so comfortable that we didn't even want to leave.
Special thanks to Richard, our most hospitable host. His attention to detail, genuine care, passion, and respect for history made our stay exceptional. He created an atmosphere in which we felt like true guests, not just guests. His warmth and charm are what make this hotel so special.
This experience was one of the best of our lives. If you're dreaming of a place where luxury meets charm, this hotel is just what you need. We look forward to returning! And a very nice bonus was the free parking nearby! Nothing

Richard was very accommodating, polite and has a wealth of history to share. Breakfast was superb and served in a beautifully decorated dining room. This place is wonderful. Everything was wonderful, nothing I didn't like
- Michelle (10/5): We highly recommend this beautiful, historic property with a welcoming host and scenic walk to the historic center. - A beautiful, well-maintained, townhouse owned by an entertaining and lovely gentleman. Our room was charming, and the breakfast was delicious and varied. We did not have a car, but instead took a National Express coach straight from Heathrow and were dropped off on London Road in Bath just a couple minutes walk from this property. It was approximately 30-45 min to walk into the historic district, along the scenic canal path and through the Victorian Pleasure Garden. We loved it! Only wish we could’ve stayed longer.
- Darren (9/5): Lovely location, serving a great city, lots to do. - It is decorated lovely and so clean. The alter piece stairway shows that the venue is something different. Very clean throughout. Massive bathroom again immaculate.
Alles was perfect
- 88e94fa6828c736ec92940cb790ff1ea (10/5): - Lovely historical house in a great location for walking along canal into Bath and to Rhonda Theatre in Larkhill. Lovely, comfortable 4 poster bed and great continental breakfast. Richard the host was charming and knowledgeable. Lovely night stay.

The breakfast is varied and freshly made each morning. Richard was very welcoming and made us feel like home. We were travelling with our dog and Richard was very accommodating, our doggie loved the garden. Thank you for such a lovely stay, we will be back! Nothing we didn’t like.

What we like the most was kindness of the manager.

- Ayesha (10/5): - Our stay at the Grosvenor Villa was spectacular! It's a stunning, Georgian villa with impeccable history and design. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious and the bathroom was massive with under-floor heating and a luxurious bath.
Our highlight of the stay was the charming Richard who was a lovely host. He was extremely welcoming and entertained us so much with his hilarious stories. We felt comfortable and right at home, thanks to Richard. Keep up the amazing work and we're excited to visit again!
- Patricia (9/5): Excellent stay, very enjoyable and comfortable - Very historic and interesting. Near to the river and canal walk into the city.
Great breakfast and able to park fairly easily.
Nice touch with small bottles of wine in the room Would have preferred an en suite bathroom rather than a private bathroom down the corridor
- Paul (10/5): Perfect location to explore Bath - The place had character and charm so did our host, ideal location for a stroll into bath centre via lovely canal path. Big , light warm room ,Comfy 4 poster bed. Good choice for continental breakfast.my partner especially enjoyed the fresh cut fruit. Nothing

- Andrew (10/5): - The entrance to Grosvenor Villa is visually stunning, and our room was very comfortable and clean. The complementary wine was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, but even better was the company of the host Richard; a very charming and witty gentleman. His stories were extremely funny. We only stayed one night but would've loved to have stayed a lot longer.

- John (8/5): - Breakfast was great and Richard is a good host
- Lucy (9/5): A perfect stay for one night. - The style of the property was historically interesting and the furnishings were of the Georgian time. The breakfast was exceptional with many choices and delicious fresh brewed coffee. The bathroom was near the room. The host was very informative about Bath and the history of the property. The lighting by the bed was dim and not bright enough to read a book.
- Martin (1/5): We didn't want to stay because the owner/manager was extremely rude to us. - We were staying one night for our daughters wedding. We called the number on the gate of Grosvenor Villa entrance and were told to go to a different gate. We couldn't find another gate to get in. We called the number on the gate again and the owner/manager said F*** off to my husband. We were in shock and disgraced and we were so polite. Never again will we visit this establishment or recommend it.

- Daniel (9/5): Good stay, good location, host very warm and welcoming. Bed comfy and would definitely stay again, good value for the ar - Property was good, period features and character.
Location was good and a short walk to the canal path and into town. Big private bathroom with under floor heating, shower was lovely.
Host Richard was a real character and a pleasure to meet. Breakfast was good although no hot offering other than toast. Small detail I know but TV signal was really poor on freeview channels and view obscured by the bed post, would recommend the host change the TV bracket for a hinged one on a swivel to enable the occupants to move it out.
- Xiaoyu (10/5): Historical and warm hospitality - Exceptional hospitality by Richard. Historical building and good area Nil

- Gamble (10/5): - Richard was a lovely friendly and entertaining host and the house was fabulous.
Our room was quiet and very comfortably furnished with everything we needed including complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and wine! We loved the four poster bed, but as we were on the top floor there were lots of stairs to climb which may not suit everyone.
The location was ideal with a bus stop right outside, so there was no need to drive and park in the town centre.
We look forward to a return visit.

- Igor (9/5): - Nádherný penzion. Ubytování jako na zámku. Milý a zábavný majitel. Do centra města lze dojít za 1/2 hodiny pohodlnou chůzí kolem vody. Velmi zajímavé, ale ne v noci. Bezproblémové parkování. Holkám přišlo ubytování trochu strašidelné, ale aspoň měly větší zážitek. 😃

- Ezinne (8/5): - Lovely host and breakfast
- Deborah (10/5): - Richard, the host was highly entertaining, informative and extremely kind. We loved the little touches like wine and biscuits in the room and the breakfast choices were absolutely fantastic. It was also good to be able to park and then walk into Bath to enjoy one of the walking tours with our small dog.
