- Jim (10/5): - This place exceeded our expectations! It was beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The hot tub was amazing! We only spent one night, but wish we could have stayed longer.
The property sent a message immediately after booking with clear check instructions and the address.
- Heidi (10/5): - Excellent. Perfect for traveling the Ring Road. We loved everything about it.
- Ida (10/5): - We had a lovely time in our cozy cottage. I highly recommend it, it’s very clean, roomy and has a well stocked kitchen including tea and coffee.
- Dinah (10/5): - The cottage is very well maintained. The kitchen facilities is good for travellers who loves cooking. The living room is spacious. A huge TV comes with Harmon Kardon surround system.
- Namami (10/5): - It was just AMAZING!!
- Richard (10/5): - Loved the cozy cabin. Had everything we needed. Picked up a few grocery’s at the gas station on the way. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel 5 minutes away. So nice to come back to after sightseeing to enjoy the thermal pool steps from the cabin. So relaxing. Quiet. Definitely recommend.
- Terri (8/5): - We loved the cabins and the hot tub. Only complaint is the strong sulphur smell from the water. Made for a really unenjoyable shower
- Andrea (10/5): - Wonderful little cabin with a hot tub super close by. Cabin had everything we needed.
- Sandra (10/5): Beautiful tranquil cabin - Loved the cabin, the location and the gorgeous hot tub. We had a very enjoyable stay. The cabin was very clean, and it had everything we needed to prepare meals in the kitchen. Check in at the Reception building was quick and friendly, we were given instructions to find the location of the cabinet which made it easy to locate.
- Mason (10/5): - Very cool stay!
- Noelle (10/5): - The interior of our cottage was comfortable and full of amenities. And what really addedto the vibe was the hot tub in the center of the cottages. No luck with the northern lights due to clouds drifting in, but it was a lot of fun anyway.
- Carol (10/5): - Very nice clean cabin… Comfortable Bed. Clean bathroom. 5* All The Way
- Janice (10/5): - The hot tub was a relaxing way to end the day.
- David (10/5): Fantastic Cottage - The cottage was charming, spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was really good, four burners, an oven and cookwear in good condition. Everything was very well organized including a QR code at reception to load directions to the cottage into google maps and another QR code n the cottage to join the internet which was fast and reliable. Highly recommended.
- Lucy (10/5): - Our stay here was everything we hoped for! Amazing Mountain View’s from private hot springs and lovely cottage! Can’t recommend it enough
- Nathaniel (10/5): - Such a beautiful spot to stay. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating! We also did the horeseback ride tour which was so much fun with the most stunning views. I would definitely recommend Hestasport Cottages!
- Brittany (10/5): - We loved the hot tub in the middle of the cottages. Very nice cabin that came fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, towels, bath robes, and several sizes of crocs to walk to the hot tub in. Spacious and comfortable.
- Jennifer (10/5): - We loved Hestasport Cottages! The hot tub was very relaxing. The property was wonderful and it was so nice having our own private cottage after staying in many cramped guesthouses and hotels.
- Christine (10/5): - We loved it! Cute cottage and very clean!
- Vinay Kumar (10/5): - The cottage was really nice and large. Much better than the hotels we stayed at. The only thing was the shower water was a bit smelling of sulphur but they were upfront about that.
- Bill (10/5): - Very nice cabin. Had some difficulty finding the cabin. Sulfur smell in the water was off-putting, but not a deal breaker. Hot tub was great.
- brennen (10/5): - I would recommend a stay here to others!
- Mona (6/5): - We stayed at the 4 person apartment. It was spacious and the kitchen was nice. We however did not like the surroundings. We expected to be on a farm like setting which was not the case. It had a nice size outdoor hot tub.
- Biviana (10/5): - Great place overall it was a comfortable stay. There was one door on the patio that was a little weird to open and close and my family member was able to open it from the outside without unlocking. In terms of the check in I think the sent instructions for check in could be a little bit more clear as to where to go for the reception including a full address or google maps link.
- Sharon (10/5): - Great view, loved the hot pot!
- Charles (10/5): Great Cottage for Our Family - We really enjoyed the cottage. The natural bath was great and we had lots of space. It was comfortable, and the kitchen was very well-stocked.
- Matthew (10/5): - Our stay here was amazing! It was SO clean, quiet, and private. The communication with the host was fantastic and the cabin exceeded our already high expectations. The hot tub was perfect despite -8 degree C weather, and the northern lights made a spectacular unforgettable experience.
- Judith (10/5): - Reception person is very delightful! Cottage was very clean, well stocked and spacious. Beds excellent, local thermal bath (right outside the cottage) is wonderful!
- Doug (10/5): Favorite property of the trip. - Cottage was large and comfortable. We really enjoyed the windows on all sides, so we had a view of everything. The hot tub in the center was great. Rob’s and clogs are provided. This was our favorite property of our 7 day trip.
- Vibhuti (10/5): - Hotel hot spring made my day. After a tiring journey sitting in the hot spring was the best part. Very cute cottages. A must visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing experience! - These cabins with their private geothermal hot tub are an oasis of paradise! Would stay there again and again and again, no question!
- Lilia (10/5): - Great cottage, large stone hot tub nice bonus
- Julie (10/5): Comfortable cabin with delightful hot spring - This was the most expensive place we stayed in Iceland but also the best. The cabin was terrific and comfortable, the hot springs delightful, and the horse ride we booked at a discount was terrific. We really appreciated the attention to recycling and the good communication with the management.
- James (10/5): Country masterpiece - Amazing place. Beautiful setting. Great hot tub
- Denice (10/5): - This was our third time staying at Hestasport. We love the coziness, the location, and the hot pot!
- Kevin (10/5): A Beautiful & Peaceful Sanctuary - On an trip to Iceland with my 11 year old, we decided to explore the more remote parts of the country. We stayed at the Hestasport Cottages for 1 night and my daughter declared it the best night of the trip. Beautiful, quiet, peaceful, amazing. Thank you Hestasport Cottages!
- Katarina (10/5): - Perfect marking of the area and navigation instructions, it was easy to find you. Thank you!
- David (10/5): - This cabin is was lovely. Nothing really to complain about.
- Lianne (10/5): - Absolutely breathtaking location, spacious and adorable cabin and an amazing hot springs rock tub. Highly
Recommend!
- Fiona (10/5): - Absolutely superb.
Very attractive chalets, very comfortable, well equipped and warm. Fantastic views. Attractive setting in garden with superb hot spring pool in the centre of the garden, close to the chalets. Bathrobes and shoes thoughtfully supplied.
Exceptionally kind and helpful staff.
- Tracey (10/5): - Wonderful cottage in a tranquil location. The hot spring hot tub was relaxing after a busy day!
- Bobby (10/5): Lovely - Happy to be back here. Every cottage is well-equipped and comfortable.
- Jung (10/5): - The property was so wonderful. It was so cozy and clean with very thoughtful touches! The hot spring was an amazing amenity as well. We definitely like to come back!!!
- Jennifer (10/5): - I found the Hestaport Cottages while doing online research for my upcoming trip to Iceland only about one month prior (this short timeline may only work in the off-season; I visited in December). It was the right stopping point distance-wise for my road trip around the country via the Ring Road, and I couldn't have been more pleased with this charming cottage and setting! It was bright and clean inside, and very comfortable. The outside is magical too! We took a late night dip in the geothermal pool in the center of the cottages, when suddenly The Northern Lights appeared - what an experience! Several other cottage guests saw them and came outside for the 90 minute showing, and we all took photos for each other and visited. If we hadn't been on a strict driving schedule, I would have loved to have stayed more than one night. I highly recommend the experience of staying at Hestaport Cottages!
- Dmitrii (10/5): - Great location to see northern lights
- Bobby (10/5): Fabulous! - We loved this place! Cosy but spacious cottage with everything you need. The hot springs in the centre of the cottage area was lovely to sit in during the evening. They even provided crocs to walk to it. Very clear communication from them about where to check in. Highly recommend the Icelandic Horse Rides run by the same people. Highlight of our holiday!
- Valentina (10/5): - Great receptionist who explained everything very well. The cottage itself was practical and comfortable with good coffee which is a plus.
Great location to see the northern lights..if you are lucky!
- Grace (8/5): - This was a very nice place to stay, the porch and the hot tub were the highlights.great location for a drive around the ring road. Water was a little sulphuric but guess that’s too be expected. Too hot in the cabin for my friend. Easy to find and good communication from the office staff
- Denice (10/5): Excellent base camp - Wonderful! Cozy cabin, comfy bed, so much natural light! And the hot pot was perfect! Hestasport will be a stop in all future trips to Iceland.
- Mary-Kate (8/5): Cute Location - Clean cottage. Very rustic. Great privacy. A lot more space than other hotel rooms in this country for a couple. Breakfast not included (breakfast at nearby hotel for fee). Small kitchen (with cooking materials, basic seasoning, oven, mini fridge, dining table for 4). Cute hot tub in the middle of the cottages. Check in building is NOT next to the cottages. Check in was easy. Internet is not great. Bed creaked and curtains were not blackout curtains.
- Lata (10/5): Charming cottage - We had a great stay at Hestasport cottage! Since we arrived late we picked up our key from outside the office and followed the easy directions to the place. The cottage is very charming, very clean and well equipped. Unfortunately, we spent only one night here. Hope we can come back and stay longer.
- Greta (10/5): What a gem!! - Best stay of our trip! The owner was super friendly and welcoming. The cottage was amazing. The on-site hot springs was so relaxing. This was the perfect place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We liked the cottage, especially the hot tub. The cottage was well equipped, although a second pillow per person would have been nice and blackout curtains. Overall -- very recommendable.
- Ken (10/5): Hestesport- pure Iceland! - Great cottages with a very nice “hot pot” (natural hot tub) right on the property. Make sure to ride the Icelandic horses if you can.
- Daniel (10/5): Cozy and sweet - Amazing
My favorite place we staying in all Iceland
The horseback riding was fantastic
I couldn’t have asked for more
Loved every minute
Midnight sun in the hot springs
- Jennifer (10/5): - They had everything you needed for your stay. Slippers and robes to go to the hot tub. Towels. We enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The cabin was clean and comfortable. We oribabky git our best night's sleep in Iceland hear. Very quiet. The spa was nice. The only downside was that the hot water had a strong sulphur smell.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - These cottages made us wish we had found cottages like this in every location! We had a bedroom downstairs and a loft with two beds upstairs. The cottage was compact but functional and included everything we needed. The central natural hot tub was a bonus. Be aware that there is only a gas station/convenience store nearby for groceries.
- Ashley (10/5): Amazing views - Amazing stay! The hot spring was perfect and very unique! Gorgeous views all around the cabin.
- Jessica (10/5): - The hot tub was amazing! And the cottage is so cute!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful location! The hot tub is especially nice!!
- Birna (10/5): Lovely place. - Quaint little cottage. Lovely location. All amenities provided.
- Natasha (8/5): - Lovely location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location is well located at the very best location. Together with an on-site hot bath, and well equipped kitchen, there is no doubt one of the best I have ever stayed
- YL (6/5): - There are a few flies in the cottage when we arrived... when the flies fly around, it can get quite noisy. Check in and check out is at another location, which is quite troublesome.
- Leslie (10/5): Hot pot and cottage - Fabulous cottage and hot pot was wonderful place to relax at end of each day. Comfortable and very warm.
- Chana (10/5): - The property is in a beautiful area. The building is actually a log cabin, perfect for the setting. The beds were comfy, much bigger than we needed but laid out really well. The only drawback is that the bedrooms were up a steep set of stairs so this couldn’t work if that would be a problem. (It wasn’t for us)
There is a hot tub (geothermal) in the middle of the cabins for guest use. We were given towels, robes and crocs for that purpose. We went fairly late at night, had it to ourselves. Was a wonderful experience. One of our favorite lodgings all around the ring road!
- KC (8/5): - Great get away. Be prepared for strong sulfur smell when using hot or warm water. Kitchen could use more cooking utensils and baking sheet. Staff was very friendly and efficient
- M (8/5): Creaky Bed, no sleep! - Cabin 2 Lovely place, nice accommodation but a bed that creaked every time you moved in it. Every time you turned, it creaked so with 2 people in the bed, it was a constant noise. Virtually had no sleep and when this was mentioned when returning the key the next day, the comment was made, "Is it still creaky?" Others had reported the same problem apparently. Supposedly, someone had checked it out but they sure didn't fix the problem. Two very tired travellers suggest you try the bed out before you attempt a good night's sleep. Worst sleep in Iceland so far.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved everything about this cottage. Our favorite spot of our trip around Iceland. Staff and service friendly. Location of cottage was wonderful, peaceful . Spacious cottage with all amenities - even crocs to walk to the hot pool, which we loved (and had to ourselves the half hour we were there). TV and wifi were fine, as was the kitchen.
Beautiful walk to the falls and a hotpool near the check in - staff was great to make recommendations.
My daughter and i did a 3 hour horseback ride and it was spectacular. We went at 8am (so we could leave at noon) and it was quiet, view was beautiful, guide was informative. We were able to do the "tolt" ,the 5th gait of Icelandic horses - so much fun.
We hope someday to return!!
Thank you!
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful place!! - Very clean cabin, in a beautiful setting!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - BEAUTIFUL cottage in a BEAUTIFUL setting. This was easily the best lodging out of 6 different places we stayed in during our trip to iceland. The geothermal pool outside was sooo relaxing after a long day and the perfect temperature. Setting was beautiful. We stayed in the Flughaus (bird) cottage and the avian theme was super cool. Kitchen had basic spices, coffee, tea, and flatware/dishes.
Go horseback riding with Hestasport as well - the 1 hour tour was perfect for newbies. In fact, I wish we did the 2 hour tour!
- Kristina (8/5): - Quiet. Out of the way. Clean. Expected a little more for the price but still satisfied.
