• tamar (7/5): - I hired a driver to take me from the airport to Upani diani. I was 500 shillings short for the ride, because I didn’t have change, so Nelson agreed to send him the rest on mpesa and I would give him 1000 shillings in cash and said he could keep the rest for tip. When I was leaving they said I owed 500 shillings for the ride still, despite having already given him the 1000shillings. I agreed just so I could carry on with my trip. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise great trip.

• Wirginia (10/5): Wspanialy! - Absolutnie wszytko było cudowne! Na początku zostaliśmy w Upani na 5 dni, ale było tak wspaniale, że przedłużyliśmy nasz pobyt o ponad tydzień! Pokój wygodny i czysty, chociaż niezbyt duży. Wspaniały ogród, basen i przemiła, zaangażowana obsługa.
• Wirginia (10/5): Kochamy to miejsce! - Obiekt jest cudowny. Byliśmy zachwyceni ogrodem, basenem i przemiła obsługą. Nasz pokój typu Deluxe był zawsze czysty, wygodny i praktycznie urządzony. W kuchni jest wszystko czego potrzeba. Personel zawsze przemiły i pomocny. W ogrodzie był żółw, który nas zachwycał. Do plaży i restauracji jest bardzo blisko. Okolica spokojna i bezpieczna. Dla nas to były cudowne wakacje.

• Cristina (6/5): Vigileu amb els micos! - Està pròxim a la platja. L’habitació era espaiosa amb llit gran. La pica és fora del lavabo. La dutxa és vella, convindria posar mampara per no esquitxar. Un mono va entrar a l’habitació per una ranura de 2cm que va forçar. Ens va robar menjar i souvenirs.

Die Zimmer sind sehr grosszügig und gut ausgestattet. Das Personal ist freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Ich hatte eine gute Zeit dort. /

• Anette (7/5): Lummig och mysigt ställe nära stranden - Poolen, omgivningen och läget var toppen. Likaså väldigt trevlig personal. Ingen luftkonditionering vilket gjorde det väldigt varmt. Endast tre skapliga solstolar - alla andra var trasiga. Behöver definitivt uppgraderas. Slitna rum. Vi hade bokat och betalt för ett rum på 70kvm men fick ett på runt 30kvm vilket blev väldigt trångt, varmt och dåligt för oss som var tre vuxna med bagage. Klagade men inte fått ngt gehör för detta vilket är mycket irriterande då vi betalt för något som inte är korrekt. Detta drar definitivt ner betyget.

Les chambres sont simples mais jolies, le jardin est magnifique. Parfait pour un séjour reposant. Le check-in pourrait être amélioré : le numéro de téléphone fourni était injoignable, on avait demandé de pouvoir arriver plus tôt ce qui avait été accepté mais pas respecté, nous avons dû attendre un peu.

More visibility of WiFi password would be nice. A cleaner area around the pool, and cleaner deckchairs (especially mattresses) would be nice. Bedsheets very poor quality. Not pure cotton (which is what works best in hot places).
• Anna Marie (6/5): Decent for the money I paid, but I didn’t sleep much. - This is a quiet spot at the end of the beach. Affordable and easily accessible. The beds are sheets of foam and there was no airflow in my room. Between that and the very shaky fan, the room was significantly hotter than it was outside. It was also at times difficult to be outside because the monkeys were very active.
• Paula (8/5): - Hotel położony blisko plaży, dosłownie 5 minut spacerkiem, obsługa miła i pomocna, nie było problemu żeby zostawić plecaki w bezpiecznym miejscu po zameldowaniu. Basen dość spory. Bardzo dobre ciśnienie wody pod prysznicem, nie było problemów z ciepłą wodą. Wiedzieliśmy, że nie ma klimatyzacji i jest wiatrak, ale niestety jest źle skonstruowany i nic nie daje. Noce były trudne do przespania. W pokoju też było sporo insektów i musieliśmy kupić wtyczkę do gniazdka, bo byliśmy dość mocno pogryzieni.

• GJ (7/5): - Beautiful garden, beautiful pool. However, photos were a bit deceptive. Very friendly guard. Walking distance to the beach. Wifi was inconsistent, and the bathroom was very small. There was no breakfast or bar service. The pool area needs attention, as all the furniture was broken and in need of replacement.

• Lorinda Steenkamp (8/5): - The Staff are lovely, the facilities are comfortable, we were there 8 nights, we were very happy. My sister and I went on a girl's vacay, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We felt safe at all times, the community are lovely. I can highly recommend Diani as a holiday destination. I have nothing to complain about, for the price, it was absolutely worth every sent. Rooms are clean, comfortable, practical. The pool area is awesome, the grounds are well kept, staff are friendly.

• gianna (9/5): Soggiorno tranquillo e personale sempre gentile e disponibile. - La struttura è piccola con circa 7 alloggi, e nei primi giorni abbiamo avuto quasi l’impressione di essere gli unici ospiti, il che ha reso il soggiorno ancora più tranquillo e rilassante. I giardini, le piante e la piscina sono curati in maniera impeccabile. La posizione è ottima: a pochi passi dal mare e dai locali dove mangiare, con i tuk tuk sempre disponibili per spostarsi comodamente. Un luogo piacevole dove tornerei molto volentieri. La struttura possiede un potenziale notevole, ma ci sono alcuni aspetti su cui sarebbe utile intervenire. In particolare: • Arredi piscina: risultano piuttosto datati e sarebbe consigliabile una sostituzione. • Cucina: i frigoriferi appaiono obsoleti e non perfettamente funzionali. • Manutenzione generale: abbiamo riscontrato fili elettrici scoperti, carta da parati in alcuni punti staccata e una gestione della disinfestazione delle zanzare che potrebbe essere più efficace. Con un’attenzione costante alla manutenzione e qualche investimento mirato all’ammodernamento, la struttura potrebbe valorizzare al massimo le sue potenzialità e offrire un’esperienza ancora più confortevole agli ospiti.

• Onessa (8/5): A much needed time out and reconnection to nature - Due to an issue with our accommodation, we made a late night booking at the Upani which they accepted and ensured there was someone to meet/check us in. This was appreciated since other hotels in the area would not accept us so late at night. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the serene and natural surroundings. The swimming pool was amazing. It felt like a warm bath that you didn’t want to get out of. The guests who were partying in their room very loudly, late into the night and security did not care to let them know they were disturbing other guests.

• Odhia (7/5): Good - The staff were nice , the pool was so clean and quiet, and the security guy at night was of so much help and friendly as well. When lights went off or got problems with the shower settings, he's always there to help. When we had little problems with our room, they managed to change us in the next one, which was closer to our expectations .Oh! we managed to meet George the Tortoise 😂 too. The Villa is very close to the beach. I normally use 3 mins to reach there so that I be able to catch my morning sunrise. All was well, except this part of sharing the kitchen and Terrace with the staff. We had to cook in turns or wait for one another, which wasn't so comfortable, a time we had to stay in the room or leave since we needed Space, Privacy &quietness but mostly they were resting on the Terrace and we didn't want to bother either. Not so close to shopping Centre too but once you do your full shopping for the stay then you're sorted

They kept everything so clean and tidy for us. And they responded immediately to any of our requests. Everything was amazing. Even the manager, Dominik, made a good impression on us. I loved the place. And the fact that they upgraded our stay for the last 4 days made it even more amazing. Pool was kept very clean. House had everything you need to live in. We even had a barbecue by the pool. Water was clean and hot in the shower. Towels and bed sheets were very clean. Security at night and we had privacy at all time. We had a few incidents with some monkeys but everything was sorted in the end. And I guess mosquitoes are an issue there. Not sure, but I guess some electric UV mosquito killers would help

• Martina (9/5): Experience of real African style - In Upani in Diani you get real African feeling. The bungalow is in a protected garden, decorated with African motives, simply different from other hotels - and great! In the bungalow you have everything what is needed for a stay - well equipped kitchen, mosquito nets, enough beds. Pool is great and pool towels are provided. After check out we could leave our luggage at reception and when leaving, we could use bathrooms in another room. For the price it’s really good choice with good service and I wouldn’t mind to come again. There were little irregularities like not working water heating for one day, but if you do not wash your hair, it’s not a problem as in FEB it’s super hot even during a night. Unfortunately, the A/C wasn’t working either, so nights were difficult. But still the feeling you get in this lovely bungalow is worth it.

Our cttage was very comfortable, equipped in everything we needed and it had spacious, private terrace. The property has nice and big swimming pool. Location is good - short tuk tuk ride from a beach (or walking distance if you're not afraid of walking about 1km). The staff is nice and helpful and available pretty much round the clock (we were leaving at 5am and it wasn't an issue - someone was available to open the gate etc.). I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Diani.
• Martyna (5/5): ok, but not at this price - The staff was definitely nice and helpful. The area is fine, although I knew exactly where it was beforehand, so I knew it would be ok. Nice layout of the space, because there is also a pool and a common area. Good fan over the bed! No mosquitoes. Always available water - a big plus! Uncomfortable mattresses. Loud, I could hardly sleep through any night, 2x monkeys ran into my room and I had to chase them away with fear - I know that this is Kenya and there are monkeys - it's not my first time. But in such a case, when making a balcony, you have to put up netting! Otherwise, the room is dark and there is no air circulation. The room looks much cleaner in the pictures than it actually is. Personally, it didn't bother me much, but many people might be surprised. It would be a good idea to refresh and thoroughly scrub: shower, faucet, walls, shelves... The place has potential, but it needs work!

It is very convenient to ask for chef if you want some meals to be cooked for your family. You can choose any dishes you like. Some renovation is needed in some parts of the building and in the pool area.

The pool area was by far my best place to relax. There's a pool shower , cushioned sun beds with a cool environment due to the trees. The staff were helpful and they cleaned the rooms every single day. As a solo traveller this exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to go back.
