The fridge didn't work—when we told the receptionist about it he asked us to use the fridge in the common lobby. The shower was quite weak and was very close to the toilet bowl. All in all: nice place to stay but you should know by booking at what area it is located (the area itself is totally fine, it’s just you either will need bus or taxi to go to the old city).

The trash basket in the toilet is full of water at the beginning of the stay and it took so long time to get warm water. Booking information a little confused. Although It allowed to choose check in (14~)/ check out time (12~ the next day) but only show the money for 2 hours, so if customers don’t notice carefully the price (which actually applying for two hours, a misunderstanding might happens. Felt a bit like “really…!?!?” In conclusion, lodging fee wasn’t really match the quality.

- Noriko (6/5): - 初めてのハノイ、到着した初日の宿泊予約をしました。 当日までに空港からの送迎の手配ができるとメッセージをくれて、名前のカード付きかなしかで料金が変わるとのこと、名前がないとたくさんの人が到着する空港で出会えない可能性があるとのことなので名前付きで420，000ドンを予約しました。（なしだと370,000ドンとのこと） それでも空港でドライバーさんとなかなか会えませんでした。名前のカードを持っている人は空港到着のロビーにたくさんいるのに私の名前はなく、とても不安になってうろうろ30分くらい歩き回ったんですが（出口も２か所ある）、結果的にはドライバーさんは空港の建物の中ではなく外にいました。事前のホテルとのメールのやりとりはとても迅速でしたので心配していなかったですが、空港建物の中で待っているのか、外にいるのかを伝えてくれていたらと思いました。ドライバーさんは英語も通じないのでそれを伝えることも出来ませんでした。ホテルに着いてからドライバーさんも受付のスタッフに随分待ったということを言ったのに理解してもらえず気の毒でした。 ［部屋・朝食について］ サイトの写真は随分綺麗でしたが、いろいろ経年劣化しています。シャワーとトイレが近くシャワーカーテンもないのでトイレは濡れまくりです。すごく気を使いますがこのあたりは海外あるあるでしょう。お湯はちゃんと出ました。 朝食はこじんまりとした空間でしたがパンと野菜とフルーツ、ソーセージはどがありますので自分で好きなようにサンドもできました。フォーも作ってくれておいしかったです。 スタッフの対応の時の笑顔などは良かったと思います。 今回ここを予約した理由は 旧市街から離れていたのはわかっていましたが、早朝の西湖ウォーターパークへ蓮を見に行きたかったので歩いていけそうな場所でと思いこちらを予約しました。 歩いて9分とのことでしたが、もう少し距離はあると思います。行き止まりなどもあって直線で移動できないから遠回りになるからです。それでも朝、蓮を見に行って花市場で花束も購入して、ホテルに戻ってシャワー浴びなおし、朝食を食べ、それからチェックアウトという予定のスケジュールは達成できたので良かったとは思います。 お世話になりました。

- Dai (8/5): Meet my expectation. - Breakfast was ok considering the size of the hotel. Facilities are basic but ok. Location is ok: on a main street, some hundred meters walking to West lake and Lotte Mall. Shower should be better. Maybe due to I was on 7th floor so the head pressure was weak.
- Alex (7/5): Good - The hotel is within walking distance from Lotte Mall Hanoi and Sen Tay Ho restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Getting a Grab to the airport is really easy and arrive around 25 minutes. There is a separate router for Wi-Fi on every floor. It works well and stable during my stay.

- Алина (10/5): Great place to stay - It was a great to place to stay. There were a very delicious breakfasts (pho bo and pho ga), in addition there were lots of places to try a local cuisine nearby. Cleaning is every day. There is a LOTTE mall, where you can go if you are fond of shopping. The city center is rather far from the hotel, but if it's Ok for you to use a taxi or motobike, everything is going to be fine:) The host will help you if you need to call a taxi, print documents or find a good place for dinner! Even though you will not be in the center, you'll be staying in a really great place with hospitable hosts You can find some ants, but it's Asia, so there are everywhere:) Just be aware of the possibility of meeting with them

I had a bad feeling the moment I got out of the elevator and saw what looks like a hallway from a horror movie - dirty, stained walls, stained carpet. The room I got had all kinds of stains on the walls and on the floor. As a bonus, there was an ant infestation. I found hair on the bed and pillows and requested for all the beddings to be changed. The housekeeper begrudgingly did it while complaining the entire time, along the lines of "it's just hair" - to give you an idea of the standard of hygiene they have. The towels look like they should have been retired years ago. Some of them look literally like cleaning rags. Staff was very unprofessional. Expect to see them laying / slouching / napping on the couch in the reception all the time. For the price they charge, trust me, you can get much much much better rooms in much more central locations.

- Cameron (10/5): Great Hotel Suited us Perfectly - We booked a large room which had a huge King-size and single beds... these are the most comfortable beds in Hanoi... guaranteed !! Breakfast was great and varied, the room was big, very clean, and the air con was effective, and gave us respite from the heat outside. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and food was freshly cooked and served. The staff were very helpful and kind, and dealt effectively with our every need. The location suited us ideally, we have family who live fairly close by, and the hotel was very accommodating in allowing us to park motorbike at the hotel. West Lake is near, also the new Lotte Shopping Mall is around 5 mins walk away and has many international brand stores and restaurants. We would definitely visit WestLake Tay Ho Hotel 696 again

- Sebastian (4/5): Disappointed - Friendly people It is a very dirty hotel, the first night I arrived I had a room that was incredibly dirty, I told them that the floor had stains and they told me that these stains could not be removed, I took a piece of paper with water and removed the stain in front of him, the sheets were full of hairs, in the end they changed me for one night to the vip room, basically it is a bigger room but with very old furniture, which by the way was also dirty, after that they gave me a room that was a little cleaner but nothing extraordinary, the bad thing about this room is that the next day I realized that it had an infestation of ants, and a bunch of them got inside my laptop, it's been days and I still haven't gotten them all out of inside the computer. It tastes bad to me because they look like friendly and humble people but I would not return to that place even if they paid me

- Hai (6/5): Fair enough for one or two nights, not suitable for a long stay - Breakfast was nice, and the lady who is in charge of it encouraged me to eat more. I was in a hurry so I didn't eat much, but it was good. The room key/card really sucks. It didn't work the first time, and the staff had to give me another one, but they didn't tell me which one is for the room and which is for the elevator. Really troublesome.

- Antonio Tomas (2/5): - Far from Old City, towards the airport. Room and toiletries ok, but safe out ot order and no curtain or box around shower so small bathroom gets all wet during shower. Chamber maid/breakfast cook is good. Large monotonous breakfast only 7 to 9. When there was a issue between me and a typical dishonest minibus (they call it limousine) driver who spoke no English and I asked assistance with translation from the receptionist/manager of hotel. He automatically agreed with driver and I was not given any opportunity to tell him my version, not even later that evening when I arrived back at the hotel. For both the driver and the hotel manager, it seems foreign tourist exist simply to be taken advantage of. Hotel charged me 400 000 for taxi from airport, leaving I booked a taxi myself and paid 229 000. Paying cash for my laundry, when I mentioned that my chance was short, all I got was a smile, no apology, no explanation and certainly not the missing change. Without these episodes. my evaluation of this hotel would have been possitiv
- Roland (8/5): A good hotel and good location in Westlake. - Was in this Hotel for the second time because not far away from the international airport and a good connection to the north part of Hanoi and in 15-20 minutes by Taxi in the old city. Hotel staff very friendly and helpfull. Very good restaurants to find in the direct area. All ok.
- Julie (9/5): Great stay in Tay Ho - We chose this hotel as our son lives in Tay Ho. We found this to be a beautiful area to visit, it is very close to the walking street and lots of restaurants and cafes. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and arranged a trip to Hà Long Bay for us and even took us to the Old Quarter to meet the transport. The lady who cooks breakfast was lovely, she cooked eggs for us every day and make sure we had some fruit. You can make toast too and we'll as trying Vietnamese breakfast items. The bed was very comfortable and the room was made up every day. There was a kettle to make drinks and coffee and flavoured tea provided as well as water. We chose a room with a balcony as I like to sit out in the early morning but the balcony wasn't big enough to sit on and it was noisy as it faced a busy road, we got used to the noise though, it might be worth upgrading to a room with a lake view if you like it to be quieter.

- John (10/5): Big value, small money - We booked this hotel for 2 nights but as we had an early morning flight home we actually only stayed 1. Well worth it for around 20 Euro per night ! Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast inc, Vietnamese or Euro or both if you want, all prepared by a lovely lady who looked after us well. Area was good, plenty of food and drink options away from downtown Hanoi. Excellent free wifi, bottled water. About 20 to 25 mins from airport, cost 12 USD for transfer. No hesitation staying here again, such lovely people !

- IL (10/5): - My room comes with a mini-balcony and a floor-to-ceiling window, with some nice flowers and plantations immediately outside. Close to the balcony side of my room, there's a vintage style hanging ceiling light which looks really trendy. I am not sure if that's a Vietnamese design or a one of a different origin, but I liked it a lot. The room comes with good spatial order and everything seems to fit well in it. The bed was soft and comfy. Gave me some good night sleeps. Also, unlike most other hotels, their free WIFI was actually really fast and reliable. That did make my journey a lot easier as I wouldn't have mobile internet access otherwise. Every morning this hotel offers breakfast, with food choices from local Vietnamese foods to standard egg, sausage and bread western types of breakfast. I got introduced to a bowl of Pho Bo on the first morning and a bowl of Bun Bo in the other morning. They're really tasty and are served on the go in their first floor's dining segment. This hotel is well staffed and you can totally feel the hospitality there. I enjoyed my stay. I think I will come again.

- Aaron (10/5): Thumbs up! - What a bargain. For the price I paid it was an excellent hotel. Far from crowds of an old quarters yet it still had everything I could ask for. Lot of bun cha and pho places near by with very cheap price. Was able to find a very cheap ride to the airport. After a few nights at the old quarters, this place couldn't be anymore welcomed. Very helpful English speaking staf. Even exchanged currency with great rate when I was in a pinch.
