DrJenniferF43 (10/5): Charming hotel right in the heart of La Paz with attentive staff and modern clean rooms. - We visited La Paz for the first time and chose Casa al Mar for its location in the heart of the town and the view of the ocean. The hotel staff were wonderful and accommodating, even when we had a last minute change due to flight changes. There communication was superb, and they helped us engage a driver from the airport. The hotel is charming and beautiful, and the room was better than we even expected. We had a separate living room/dining room/kitchenette and an awesome balcony looking over the ocean. We would love to stay here again any time!

Wendy (9/5): Great! Our family of four enjoyed our time in La Paz and stay at Casa Al Mar. - Convenient location on the Malecón, walking distance to restaurants and sites in the center, all the staff members very kind and provided us with exceptional service.
Argemie (5/5): Not the most comfortable stay, I regret booking this place. - Right on the malecon, walking distance to a lot of food places and shops. Front staff are helpful and friendly. For the price, one would expect clean and of quality rooms. The AC didn’t work on the first night, maintenance was called to fix it right after we reported it faulty when we checked in the room. The maintenance guy left the main door open and a hornet flew in the room and basically told us “oh there’s a hornet that flew in” like it’s now our problem to get it out. Advertised as sound proofed rooms but they’re not. Very loud and noisy at night.

Our rental car was not available at the airport, and the staff at Casa al Mar was able to secure a rental car for us at a great price, and truly saved our vacation.

The staff were lovely, friendly and very easy to chat with about the area and the hotel. 296gregf (8/5): Boho Chic on the Malecon Close to Everything - We booked Casa Al Mar in a “Suite Al Patio Doble” room for four nights on our most recent visit to La Paz. Prior to our arrival, we accepted the hotel’s offer to pick us up at the airport. The cost was 380 pesos. The hotel manager, (yes the manager), ALEXIA, arrived on time and was professional and friendly. We arrived at the hotel in the evening, and our room was ready. This boutique hotel’s location on the Malecon is perfect. In addition, the hotel’s entrance is really nice with a boho chic vibe. Our room, Unit 1, was about 900 square feet with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, dining room, and kitchen. This room did not have a view of the ocean (we booked late in the game). Upon first entering the room, it looked really nice; also decorated in a boho chic vibe. There are a lot of steps inside this room. For example, the living area is sunken from the entrance and the kitchen is sunken from the living room. The same thing occurs upstairs to the bedrooms and bathroom. People with mobility issues or children might want to consider other hotel options. Regarding the condition of the unit, it was good. The kitchen was fully outfitted for cooking, and the appliances were in new condition. We did have an issue with the safe, as it was not secured to the wall. It appeared it had been pulled away from the wall for some reason because the holes in the wall were visible. We reported the issue, and they secured the safe the following day. We also had an issue with hot water in the shower and sink. It was somewhat hit or miss; not a huge issue for us. WIFI in the room interacting with the smart TV was troublesome at times. There is no pool at this hotel. In room massage services are available for $90 per hour. Regarding the service, it was fantastic (FIVE STARS). In addition to picking us up at the airport, ALEXIA helped arrange excursions including a beach tour and sand boarding adventure for a really great price. In addition to ALEXIA, all of the staff members were friendly and professional including FRIEDA, CONCEPCION, and PRICILLA. Overall, we had a great experience at Casa Al Mar with only a coupe of minor room issues; one of which we reported, and they handled it right away. Booking in advance for a balcony room with an ocean view is recommended.

Could have used another bathroom but overall a great space. Not child friendly as there are hard cement and stone stairs and low balconies. One fall could hurt young and old. Our trip consisted of 2 ladies in our 50’s and our Mothers in their 70’s. We just had to make sure our Mom’s did the stairs slowly. Other than that, excellent experience!!!

It is $10.00 usd a day to park and about 3 blocks away. They lock the garage from 8:30-8 so getting your car can be tricky for an early morning excursion.

From the entrance, steps to go up to the bathroom. Steps to go up to bedroom. Steps to go down to living room, steps to go down to kitchen. Steps everywhere. Windows have no views. Shower hot water runs out after one shower and the unit is meant for 4 guests! Requested refund of 2 nights. Manager didn’t budge despite multiple requests. Citing non cancellable policy and commissions taken by Booking.com. Tried to give me credit for future stays but I’m not from the region. Won’t be back again, so it’s useless. No compassion at all when I need to look for alternate accommodation. As this one is way below expectations. Utterly disappointing. They should have warned about the many steps. The pictures look better than it really is. Avoid.
DAYANNA (10/5): - amazing location right on the Malecon, the staff was the friendliest helped me arrange a great tour and was very attentive. I loved how pet-friendly the apartment-like layout was. It helped our group have common spaces, but it felt very much private. Will become a go-to anytime I am in La Paz.
Desiree (10/5): According to my children, best vacation ever. - Casa al Mar is a beautiful property that is located right across the street from the malecón. There are several surrounding restaurants, shops, and bars to choose from. The suites are amazing, with amenities such as a refrigerator, toaster oven and stove in case you want to stay in. The staff is friendly and always available if something is needed. Can’t say anything was unlikable

Jeff (10/5): Heart of the Malecon. - Staff was unbelievably friendly, bilingual and helpful. Rooms were mini apartments with nice natural lighting. Rooms towards the rear are very quiet, but know that the ocean view rooms are not so quiet. You’re in the heart of the city. Expect it and enjoy! The hotel is central to MANY restaurants and bars. We will definitely be back.
Gabriela (6/5): - This hotel is well located. Staff was always friendly, attentive and overall, great customer service. Place does had some maintenance issues but, we were able to enjoy our stay due to staff accommodations. The hotel restaurant was great!

Ana (10/5): Wonderful! - The location was perfect. The breakfast was amazing, so much so that we went back a couple of times for dinner. The only problem for us was that there were to many stairs in our suite. Our fault for not asking before hand.

Ginger (8/5): - Great location on the malecon. Restaurants, ice cream parlors and souvenier shops close by. Be prepared for loud music until quite late at night and even in the early hours from cars passing by on the street and other sources. Room was spacious, had a kitchenette and laundry service cost was very reasonable. Shower had dark lines in cracks. Attention to that would be helpful. Shower was lukewarm at best.

Rocio (10/5): The staff was amazing , my friends and I are thinking of booking again - The aesthetic, the plants, the welcome drinks. The water in the entrance to grab if you’re not going into your room. The balcony height is really short :/ kids would have to be watched super carefully or not let outside alone.
