Our stay was home away from home. The personalised experience was outstanding, Hong Tran and her Team made us feel unique and valued. Nothing was too much trouble, from excursions to specially made itineries,Hong and her Team made sure we enjoyed every minute in Vietnam. We made friends for life, all these hard working people, from bell boys to receptionist, from restaurant team to spa specialists were outstanding. We were impressed by the restaurant Team. Thum made our breakfast time super special every day. We loved our freshly made ginger tea. Thank you for making our morning special every day. Hotel located in a old quarter and most of the majour tourist attractions are in a walking distance. You will be close to the Lake, Water Puppet Theatre, French quarter. We did like everything.

A special thank you to Hannah at the front desk，she was incredibly attentive, giving us helpful tips on places to visit in Hanoi and even sending messages about nearby dining options. This morning, another gentleman at the front desk kindly helped us arrange a car to the airport. We are truly grateful for this experience and hope to stay at this hotel again on our next visit to Vietnam. We also look forward to seeing Hannah again. N/A

- Damian (10/5): A shining central gem of a hotel in Hanoi that truly lives up to it's name - We loved this hotel so much that we are going to stay there again in June on our way home to Sydney. All the staff were so friendly and wonderful, especially Harry (who said his surname was Potter but I'm skeptical about that :-D). Food was great. Location was absolutely perfect. Our room was fine but just a bit small for us so we have booked a bigger one for our next stay which should fix that.

As good as the location and facilities are it’s the staff that makes this place a stand out .We left to go to Sapa for 3 nights before coming back and I left a problem I had with a train ticket I had booked from Australia with Hong,Thats had nothing to do with this hotel but she made so many phone calls and sent emails to Vexere until we had tickets emailed directly to us ,words cant describe how incredible Hong who runs main reception was I could never have done what she did for us with absolutely no benefit to her or the hotel , Thankyou so much Shining Central hotel, we will recommend this hotel to everyone. Right in the middle of the madness but just a 10min walk to everything but on the edge of the old quarter so not as noisy or frantic right outside your door. The room was superb. Seriously the Junior suite with a balcony will not disappoint. Would have appreciated Netflix working. TV could be bigger. This is really minor. Toilet in same room as bathroom. I prefer them separated.

- Joe and Carmel (8/5): - Very large room, we were in room 801 and there was a nice balcony overlooking the front street, a large round bed and plenty of cupboards for clothes. Large separate bathroom with a spa bath. The elevator only goes to the 9th floor and we needed to walk up to the 10th for breakfast and the 11th for the roof top pool & bar.

- Tom (8/5): Great location, very friendly staff, good value; I wish payment and checkout was easier; - The location was very good. The rooms were nice. The staff was very friendly. It was a great breakfast and the rooftop bar was great . I have 2 issues with the hotel: 1) for a 5 star hotel, they were pretty insistent from check in that we should pay in cash. Paying in cash for 2 rooms for 2 nights - it isn't easy to pull out cash from ATMs. It incurs fees that offset what I would pay in credit card anyway. I tried to explain this at check in that I will likely pay credit card at checkout. then i got a message later saying if I paid cash they would give me a 3% discount. but if I paid credit card it would be 5% fee (which is typical in vietnam ) I just didn't understand the 8% swing on paying cash vs credit card. they disagreed it was an 8% difference on checkout - I wasn't disagreeing with the fee but their math wasn't mathing out with me. I.e. a $100 room would be $97 if paying with cash or $105 if paying by credit card. anyway they waived the fee - which I wasn't trying to get out of but itw as nice of them to do that. My other issue was that on the 2nd day I was there a strong bad smell came from the room . it got worse at night. so I had to crack the windows open and the door to the patio . It still smelled in the morning. I think it came from the shower or sink drains. I told them on checkout and they messaged me that there was no smell later. I mean my daughters down the hall smelled it in the hallway and in my room I wasn't making it up. I'm still wondering what caused it. it wasn't there when I checked in .

We travel frequently and have stayed in larger, more luxurious hotels, but the experience here was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived at the airport, everything was seamless. Special thanks to Ms. Hong for her assistance with organizing our tour, and to Kaycee at reception, along with the entire team, for consistently ensuring our comfort throughout our stay. The service is outstanding at every level, from the warm welcome at the entrance to the attention to detail in the rooms. The staff across all areas, including breakfast, the bar, and the spa, were attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. The hotel made our stay effortless and comfortable. It offers excellent value for money, and the breakfast, while not overwhelming in variety, focuses on quality, and it shows. Highly recommended. The team truly goes the extra mile to make your stay memorable. None

- Jing (10/5): A comfortable, affordable stay in a great walkable location that our whole family enjoyed. - The location is perfect, staffs are very friendly, breakfast is very good. Our family stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, and everyone was very happy with our stay. We had nothing to complain about. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the room was a bit small, but it was definitely worth the money. If you’re looking for a hotel within walking distance, this is a great choice.
