- Angel (9/5): Beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean, well located and wonderful staff. - Small 10 room boutique hotel. Excellent location, beautifully decorated and very clean. Staff were very helpful and set out a lovely continental breakfast everyday…more than enough to start your day. They also carried our luggage up (as there is no elevator, this was especially helpful). Nice to meet other guests in the breakfast/sitting room throughout the day. I personally didn’t have a bar fridge in my room, which would have been nice. I know other rooms have this. Also no elevator, so if you have a problem with stairs you may wish to look elsewhere….but as I said, staff are more than happy to take your luggage up/down the stairs. Price was high for the area, but probably the nicest place in that part of town.

- jayzee66 (10/5): Distinctive boutique hotel - Personal touches are everywhere in H21 Hospedaje Boutique Hotel an elegant, sophisticated oasis in busy Coyoacan. Each room is unique, designed by Christian whose black and white photographs accent the hotel, making the guests feel they are in a private home. Actually that’s exactly what H21 was in a former life, artfully restored as a boutique hotel. From the second you walk beyond the iron door to the interior lobby, soft lighting, stone floors and collectable pieces (old bicycles and gorgeous framed mirrors) leaning up against the walls make you feel you are in one of Mexico’s most beautifully designed spaces. There are so many great things to say about H21; the staff; Claudia, Maria and Melody can’t do enough for guests, ensuring every aspect of their stay is memorable. Sitting with my continental breakfast on my little terrace in the sunshine was one little nugget that had me thinking , who can I recommend this hotel to? The answer is everyone travelling to Mexico City. Why do we not have boutique hotels like this in Canada? Architecturally distinctive with great personal service at a reasonable rate is exactly what so many hotel guests are seeking but rarely discover.

- charlie (8/5): Lovely hotel, quiet but in the heart of the town. Would recommend. - It’s a nice, quiet hotel very close to everything in Coyoacan. The private terrace with our room was lovely. It had a partial cover which meant we could sit outside no matter what the weather. There was a microwave, fridge plates and cutlery which was useful. The bed was comfortable and room was clean and nicely furnished. There isn’t much we didn’t like about this hotel and would recommend. The only thing that was a little off putting was that our bathroom had large windows on two sides where the toilet and the shower was (which were slightly open at the top) this faced on to the main reception area. It was still private as it had blinds which we kept closed and there was a fountain running in main reception area which created ambient noise.

A perfect, quiet location near the main square in Coyoacán, the hotel is very stylish with many fascinating design touches. Rooms are huge with an outdoor seating area and are very up to date with many lighting options and a large high def TV, and a separate shower/bathroom from the two sinks. The front desk staff, highly skilled in English, will do whatever they can to assist. Breakfasts are tasty with toast, butter, preserves, fruit, excellent coffee and cereal/oatmeal options. It’s very high value for the cost, too. We’d make it our first choice for our next visit to CDMX. A perfect choice. We liked everything.

The hotel contacted me even before my stay to clarify my needs, which already made me feel very well taken care of. They were extremely helpful, provided all the information I needed about the area, and even organized an airport transfer for us. The hotel itself is a real piece of art, with so many beautiful details that make the stay feel special and unique. What stood out the most, however, was the incredible hospitality of the staff. Everyone was kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, making us feel completely at home. After spending a few intense days in busy Mexico City, this hotel felt like a small rescue and a true haven of calm. I would absolutely love to come back one day and can highly recommend this place

- alexaw591 (10/5): 2nd time here & won’t be our last! - Our experience was tremendous, with the atmosphere, architectural design, amenities and helpful service, we will definitely be coming back a 3rd time! The cleaning staff was incredible, they made our beds, changed our trash and refilled our water everyday. The rooms are beautiful and each have one of a kind architectural design to it. We were fortunate enough to stay in two rooms, both rooms had super comfortable beds, rainfall showers, some cozy robes and slippers, TV access, A/C, mini-fridge, microwave and one room had two stovetops. The most unexpected amenity we received was tea on our last night! This is our second time coming and won’t be our last anytime soon!

Out of all of the places in Coyoacan I saw, I wanted to book this one for our first trip and I’m glad I did. From the moment we stepped in, our experience was nothing but amazing. We were greeted by everyone and were shown the property ( which is beautiful). The room we stayed in was quiet, beautifully decorated and had a little patio to relax. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and great coffees and teas that they brought to our room The bed was so comfortable that I wanted to take it home with me :). What stands out the most is the staff and their outstanding customer service. They are all amazing, willing to help at any time. I can’t thank them enough because they made our trip so memorable. So thank you for everything. We will definitely be back.

Each room has its own unique setting - warm, cozy, yet modern-feel, natural lighting, and extraordinary clean. The hotel offers superb services. They can schedule a car ride from/to airport, set up private tour to the pyramids (ask for Enrique)!, help us with places to eat and provide currency exchange at the front desk. The amenities are plentiful to make you feel at home. Rooms have robes and slippers, A/C, and we appreciate the filtered water. The daily continental breakfast is always set up with fresh with boiled eggs, ham & cheese, oatmeal, toast, pastries with jams and their coffee is very flavorful. It's a great start of your day. From the day of our arrival to the last evening before our departure, each staff member made us felt immediately welcome and always made sure we are comfortable with our stay. We stayed in the Fortitude room, which is the top floor. I would not recommend if you are unable to do stairs, otherwise it was the perfect room for us.

- Lindsay (10/5): Gorgeous boutique gem in Coyoacán - GORGEOUS boutique hotel. Incredibly clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and absolutely a great value. It exceeded our expectations. We were in a king room with a private balcony/patio area that was full of greenery and string lights, like our own little private oasis. There were lots of thoughtful little details like a QR code map to the Coyoacan area, USB ports in the bedside outlets, fruit in the kitchenette area, free juice and beer in the fridge, makeup and shoeshine towels, etc. I didn't want to leave and hope to be able to stay here again in the future. Essentially a non-issue for us, but the room was not well insulated from noise inside the hotel - so we could clearly hear people talking from the common areas, which may be bothersome to some people trying to rest or work during the day. However, the hotel itself is tucked away on a side street, sheltered from road and restaurant noise, and making it extremely quiet for well-located hotel in CDMX. I am very sensitive to noise and had zero problems. We also always sleep with earplugs so if there was any noise at night inside the hotel, we didn't notice.

Our major complaint is because the property is mostly concrete steel and glass sound travels everywhere. You can hear every conversation from the room above you and even the quietest conversation in the hallway or lobby carries directly into the room. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay. Lots to do around the property. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Other than the sound issue it's a beautiful place. The sound issue however would keep me from coming back.
- Lynda (10/5): Exceptional little hotel - Very comfortable and spacious rooms, fantastic location in the centre of Coyoacan, lovely little sun room for relaxing in the sofa and a spot of breakfast - but also great kitchen in our studio. The staff were amazing. For a partial-day-rate we were able to arrive right off the plane at 4am and get some sleep so we could enjoy our first full day. Will definitely stay again.
- Rory (10/5): - We had a really fantastic stay at the H21. First thing to mention is the staff, who were all super lovely, helpful and always on hand when you needed them. Hotel is even better than it looks in the pictures (and it looks great in the pics). Our room (Resposito) was a great size, with an amazing bathroom, super comfy bed and outdoor space that was just lovely - saw quite a few hummingbirds while sat out - which added to the specialness of the whole place. Location in Coyoacan is super special - an oasis in the calm of Mexico City. Lots to see, do and eat locally with cheap taxis to take you into the centre of the city when you want to shift gears. 10/10 across the board. Would highly recommend.

Our room had comfortable king bed and double sinks. There was a private patio with a fridge, freezer, and microwave. Morning cafe with a light breakfast included was perfect. - Road22804993778 (10/5): Exceptional Experience - Architecturally interesting, beautifully appointed with the friendliest and most helpful staff imaginable. The rooms have every convenience and beautiful lighting. They helped with restaurant reservations and secured amazing guides with whom we toured the City and the environs. One of our group experienced damage to his walker. They found a replacement overnight and helped file the claim. This is my favorite hotel EVER. Finally, the location is an easy walk to the square chock full of restaurants and commerce. Frida Khalo’s and Leon Trotsky’s homes are close by. Not to be missed…

- Dazyagal (10/5): Delightful, safe family run hotel! - My big three: Quiet. Comfy bed. Good shower. For this review, I want to talk about the location as well. I can’t imagine any place better to stay in Cayoacan. So close to the street fairs and the activities near St. John the Baptist. Really was a delightful place to stay. And, shockingly, so very quiet. The bed was wonderful, as was the decor of this entire hotel. A family run business with great attention to detail. The cappacino they made me every morning was divine! I’m not a fan of waterfall showerhead, as I’m a woman with long hair and I need a little more water pressure and directional streams, so although the shower was beautiful, the water itself was not ideal. Also: lots and lots of steps in pretty random places, so be careful! Still, I would still stay here again in a heartbeat.
- PaulW7920 (10/5): A beautiful haven of tranquility - One of the best hotels my wife and I have ever stayed in. From the moment you walk in from the bustling neighbourhood you feel a peaceful sense of calm. The hotel, which used to be a house, looks great and has been converted using the best of everything - materials, doors, accessories, lights, art, bathroom products etc. I dread to think how much this all cost, but the end result is more or less perfect. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with a large and well laid out bathroom, and a huge high quality shower space, probably the largest I've ever seen in a hotel. There is a useful communal kitchenette and small lounge area, open 24 hours, where you can help yourselves to complimentary continental breakfast items, some drinks, and make a cup of tea. The staff we met were all excellent - friendly, efficient, helpful and welcoming. This alone would merit a glowing review, but some personal touches added another dimension. We arrived four days after my birthday, and on checking in I was greeted with a "happy belated birthday" by the lady on reception. Later that evening I received a birthday card and cake. We met the owner (lovely guy) in the lounge area and mentioned that my wife was gluten intolerant so couldn't enjoy any of the bread/cake items in the kitchen. When we returned to the hotel later that evening there was a basket of gluten-free goodies in our room, including some biscuits which my wife said were possibly the best gluten-free biscuits she had ever tasted. And on our final night there was a lovely pot of tea waiting in our room when we returned to the hotel. There were some minor issues: no kettle in the room. This appears to be standard in Mexico, with priority given to coffee making machines, so it isn't a particular criticism of this hotel. And the 24 hr kitchenette close by meant that we could make tea whenever we wanted; there was some noise from outside, to be expected in such a vibrant neighbourhood, but it was relatively minor and didn't impact on our enjoyment of our room or our sleep; there is no lift. There is only one floor to go up, but the staircase is relatively narrow. Hotel staff would help with this if needed. So, huge congratulations to the owner/s for developing this project so tastefully, and for their recruitment and staff training policies. They have created a wonderful hotel that still feels more like a home. We would return every year if we could.

Claudia noticed from my passport that it was my birthday and sent up a beautiful and delicious dessert with a handwritten card. Jessica went above and beyond to make our stay amazing and Lilleth greeted us in the morning with a warm smile and hot espresso in their kitchen area. I would highly recommend staying at H21 and will stay there my next visit to Mexico City.

The staff were so lovely-always close by to welcome us back “home” or assist with anything we needed including airport pickup and drop off as well as a day trip to Teotihuacan. The hotel is truly a hidden oasis of quiet and calm located on a vibrant street in Coyoacan. The room was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the convenience of the kitchenette and small private garden area. I would stay here again and can highly recommend as an excellent choice in Mexico City!

- Joli (10/5): - We stayed at H21Hospedaje Boutique for 5 nights. From the moment we entered we were takin care of. The people at the hotel have hospitality down to a T. Everything was perfect. From coffees made to perfection for us in the am to fruit and snacks available at all times of the day. Interior of our suite had everything one would need. Extremely clean and special details throughout. Our travel arrangements were prepared for us from airport before we arrived and to airport when we were ready to depart. The hotel itself is in a perfect location. We were able to walk everywhere, from historical parks and church’s, to Frida’s casa azul and all places in between. The neighborhood is very safe from all hours of day and night. Again, I must say all the help, Gloria, Melody, and others made us instantly feel at home. We will be back and this is the only place you will find us in all of the Mexico City area! Thank you Coyoacán!

- corrieg303 (10/5): One of the best hotel experiences EVER - This was my second stay at H21, both times for work. I cannot say enough good things about this place - Christian and the staff are incredibly welcoming, the common spaces are beautifully decorated, every room (I was able to check-out 6 different rooms because I was staying with co-workers) is unique and charming and CLEAN and the attention to detail is second to none. Coyoacan is a lively but safe neighborhood (I went running 2 mornings before dark alone as a woman and felt super comfortable), and the hotel is steps away from the main squares with shopping, restaurants and markets plus lots of street vendors and people dancing and playing music. The only thing I would call out for those who are not in CDMX for nightlife is that the drum circles and other activity can be heard from the hotel. I am a fairly heavy sleeper so this didn't bother me, and they typically wrapped up by 10 or 11, at least during the week. If you are looking for a place that feels like home, regardless of your reason for travel, PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay here.

Only complaint is that our 2 room suite had heat (and a/c for summer?) in only one room. Made the lounging room hard to use in February.

I am a vegetarian/not vegan and there were two hard boiled eggs for me, cheese, fruits, yogurt, delightful little pastries (most hotels only have sweet breads) coffee, tea, juice, toast/jam. Room and building design was beautiful. Beds and bedding super comfortable, crisp and clean. Shower head a dream. I love Coyacan and San Angel so the location is great for me. But the best was the loving, kind, care, attention and service of the staff. Nothing really, I always like a pool to do laps and a. gym but can do without next time I stay in Mexico City at this exceptional boutique hotel.

The staff was exceptional: they helped us develop an itinerary for our stay in Mexico City and arranged for a guide and a driver. When I had difficulty navigating the stairs to our original room, they graciously moved us into one that was more accessible.
