Guest Reviews
- Giulia (7/5): -
- Jan (9/5): - Very friendly staff, nice accommodation
- Bethany (9/5): - Amazing stay from start to finish! Beautiful, well-maintained setting with flowers, trees, and a clean braai area. Loved the outdoor shower under the stars and the cozy, quiet huts—perfect for a good night’s sleep.
The kitchen was fully equipped, and the lounge area was comfortable with books and games. The host was incredibly warm and even helped push our car when it got stuck!
Easily my favourite place in South Africa so far—10/10, highly recommended!
- Polite (1/5): Horrible, horrible, horrible!! - The place was horrible, a horror home😔no security, no reception, we opened the house ourselves, the was no one on the premises, the place was dirty from outside to inside. I’ve never seen such 😩 ubulwebhu, ukuncola… Everything was terrible, the place, the room everything. It must be closed,it’s a total scam, kuncolile, kuyasabeka!!
- Sabelo (3/5): Very bad - The location is fine There is no effort to make the the place decent even though the place itself has a great potential of becoming at least a 3 star. Beds are old and not comfortable at all, Bath tub drain blocked, towels are old and hard, grass not cut. No reception to welcome clients. I didn't even have soap. Network is a disaster. The place feels unsafe.

- Cerys (10/5): Relax and unwind - Loved the outdoor shower with hot water ,the swimming pool was very refreshing after a day at the beach and the sharing kitchen we really enjoyed making breakfasts and dinners. We enjoyed everything at the facility
- Muhammad Taahir (9/5): Value you for money, clean and comfortable. Great place to stay and friendly hosts. - Clean, comfortable, quiet and value for money

- Emile (8/5): -
- Hooghiemstra (8/5): - Some small issues came up during the stay, was very quickly resolved by the staff and they made sure that we were happy for the remainder of stay. The road in is a bit tricky and not exactly clear when you arrive where you have to enter. There's also no sign at the road toward the entrance.
- Sifiso (10/5): - Location, tranquility, Room size.
- Steve (1/5): Emailed the establishment to resolve our problem and no answer to calls or email - maybe a scam ? - We booked and paid R742.50 via this web site and tried calling the establishment from 19:25 aware that the latest check in was 21:00 and no one answered the phone and when arrived at the gate no one was there and dark lights off and had to find alternative accommodation
- De Kegel (10/5): Beautiful & quite place to spend a night - Very nice place with cozy huts. It‘s in the bushes, off from the main road so it‘s very quite and remote. There are a lot of sweet animals and the owner is very friendly
- Sifiso (10/5): Wonderful. - The rural taste of the place is wonderful. It's not citylike, it's rural and that's good.
- Xolani Prince of (9/5): - Geographic location is nice and quiet not too far from the mall Road to the accommodation and got lost navigation system and when trying to call no answer on the phone
- Vela (7/5): Good -
- Sphamandla (10/5): Exceptional - I didn't have hot water again but I can overlook that.
- Sphamandla (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bagcinele (6/5): Pleasant - Very private Please put a small counter in the rooms so that one is able to prepare meals even with a small microwave. The communal kitchen is too far at night and during rainy days. So a small kitchenette will do.
- H (8/5): Very good - Host was very friendly. accommodation was clean and comfortable.
A very peaceful and farm like experience. Location was a distance from Sodwana Bay beach
- Frantisek (10/5): Exceptional - *Very friendly and pleasant staff! Really nice people!
*Local architecture
*Walking paths around the area
*The best accondation in South Africa Sandy driveway
- Derrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neels (7/5): Liked to be ablre.to break away from the world - The quiteness and remote location. More effortcould be done withe kitchen furniture and the overall sanitation of cutlery.
- Busiswa (7/5): Izulu echo lodge stay - I like the rondavels and the girl thats works there was friendly and welcoming. I loved the outside showers those were cool. The sandy road going to the place was bad, its not ment for small cars we feared being stuck. The gate wasnt locked at some point we questioned the safety of the place.
- Halalisani (4/5): Disappointing - Rooms were clean Access road to the facility was terrible
No aircons in the room
No television sets on the room
- Veronica (9/5): Superb - The staff were great and the big kitchen was cozy and easy to use. There were super friendly animals living there as well, and we made friends with the dogs, cat, and some of the chickens XD There was no mobile data connection in the area and no Wifi, so that made keeping up with my business challenging.
The sand path to the lodge was a little scary the first time, but we got used to it.
- Nieves (9/5): Superb - The property can only be accessed if you drive a 4x4.
- Heidi (7/5): Good -
- Nicholas (7/5): Good -
- Tucker (8/5): Perfect stopover and affordable price on the way to Mozambique. - It was a perfect stopover on our way to Mozambique - just one hour from the border crossing. Our family of 4 fit perfectly in the unit and it had everything we needed for the night - towels, electric kettle, bath for the kids, etc. We loved the hot outdoor shower and without the city's light pollution, the stars were brilliant. The kitchen had all the necessary crockery to cook if we had wanted to. We arrived just as the sunset and felt very safe, although it would have been easier to arrive a little earlier. The kids might have used the pool, but we couldn't find a light and it was a bit too dirty to use. Possibly they didn't expect anyone to use it. The lightbulb in the bathroom was burned out.
- Leannemurray6 (8/5): Very good -
- Wikus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pheko (6/5): A very peaceful place and the aesthetics are wholesome. The rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned. There were a lot of spi - The property was peaceful. There were spider webs on the walls and dust beneath the bed . The sheets were worn out as well.
- Conrad (8/5): Very good -
- Jenisha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Kriszta (9/5): Superb -
- Ross (1/5): bad - Nothing No access for cars the sand road not sutable for cars and was not stated on your wedsite
- Byron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donnet (9/5): Superb - Thank you Poma for the welcome, the kindness, the attentions, the discovery of the local language, the sharing of culinary specialties...!
wonderful moments in a very pleasant setting.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful stay: the facility is simple but at the same time very well cared for in detail and nothing is missing. The children loved the accommodation, the pool, the space and especially the animals.
Mpumi is very kind and always helpful, the stay is valuable also thanks to her.
We hope to return soon!
- Myeni (10/5): It was majestic stay indeed. - Host communication ensured that we are waited for before we even reach the lodge. The lady who takes care of the place was very welcoming and full of information about the place andits history. When we needed to make fire for our braaj she assisted us with all the necessities. Our rooms were very quite and relaxing, in the morning we were greeted by the rooster miles away I thing from neibours, which made us feel at home. The road entering the village was very sandy for a small car if we can get some gravel it will be nice
- Jordaan (9/5): Superb - Exceptional good value for money
- Florencia (8/5): Very good -
- Fred (5/5): Passable - The pool is amazing
Braai Facility is also good. The host was not accommodating
She complained about divving routes in ger grass but there are no direction indicators
- Thulani (7/5): Peaceful and relaxing - Peace and quiet of the place, very seren
- Morne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyle (8/5): What was lovely - We didn't use the breakfast. We have dietary restrictions but I was well aware they would not be able to accommodate. I brought food. We were given space in the fridge to put our food. But be warned. There really isn't a close place to buy groceries. There is a Spar close by but not all Spar's are the same.
- Josefien (9/5): Superb - The owners were extremely helpful and kind. The beds were really comfy and the little rondavels were very cute. Nice pool for a quick swim in the morning. Not directly at the beach but Sodwana town is only about 20 mins away!
- Zakhele (5/5): Passable -
- Marlies (8/5): The people are very open and helpful! They bought it recently so they’re still exploring the area and opportunities, but - Beautiful shack with a romantic bath tub and outdoor shower! Nice shared area with all the equipment you need to cook and dine! Difficult road to get there, but you need to trust your car ;-) no easy connection (4G)
- Nebojša (8/5): Very good -
- Spangenberg (9/5): Superb -
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aduckling (1/5): Cockroaches and lacking hospitality - Not much really. - there are no screens on the windows and all the windows were open when we arrived, which allowed probably for plenty of bugs to get in, proven by the humongous cockroach we found on the wall next to the bed alongside some of his smaller friends. Also plenty of Gekko in the room that probably got in the same way. Given that this place lays in Malaria risk country we would have expected to have at the minimum either screens in the window or a klamboo over the bed.
- the pool was emptied of water, we were not informed of this beforehand
- there are no lounge or relax possibilities : no outside furniture anywhere on the property except for some plastic chairs (but no tables), no sitting space in the room (except for 2 kitchen chairs but you can hardly call that relaxing seating)
- We did not feel welcome at all at this property, the hospitality mentioned in previous reviews on booking seem to be related to a previous owner.
- access is barely possible if not using a 4*4 drive, the road is very badly maintained and very loose sand. Do not try to get there with a Sedan because you will get stuck. We barely got out with our small 2*4 SUV.
- No soap or shampoo provided.
- Philisiwe (8/5): The bundus - The rondavels reminded me of home and the out door shower was nice.
There was load shedding and we were hungry, the hosts made us cheese sandwiches. Whoever designed the inside of the rondavels must have been high. The bathtub is too high and the design doesn't make sense.
Can towels be changed to white.
Change cover of duvets to white as well.
