- Sarah (8/5): -
- Phillippa (6/5): - Location and staff were great! No mirror in room. Fan stopped working throughout the night. Nothing else to help with the heat.
- Peter (7/5): Staff made the stay wonderful - Great staff, ready to help . No ensuite
- Huggy (8/5): - Great serviceq
- Castledine (10/5): -
- RhiJB (3/5): Hot box room and peeping tom neighbour - Location No air-conditioning
No way of cooling down at all unless having the balcony doors open which then people from other rooms can walk past your room and look fully in and I had a random junkie walk into my room with his downstairs out
- Tamani (1/5): - The pub There condition and i pay for three days and i just spend 2 days no refund. And the smell of the Hotel was bad and no air conditioning
- Philip (8/5): Good vibe -
- Karen (9/5): - Great staff, excellant food, and lovely clean old sytle accommodation
- Deborah (9/5): -
- Kez (4/5): Hot and sick from meal - Old building location to medical centre Hot in room and cool on verandah
Diarrhoea from evening meal
- Lauren (1/5): -
- Paul (10/5): - The decor. The vibe. The music playing in the background. The smell of the coffee making it's way up the stairs where the beautiful, homelike cozy rooms spread out down the hall, ending with a small, open, funky communal kitchen area. The Balcony that wraps it's self around all of this offers seating and a view of the local Maitland hustle bustle whilst enjoying your hot brew basking in the early morning sun or enjoying the cool afternoon breeze whilst sipping on a coldie. Love all that this place feels like and all it keeps giving ✨🍻🍷☕

- Russell (7/5): -
- Kathy (7/5): - Didn’t know there was a breakfast option, I saw a menu on dresser but it was main meals. It was 40 degrees plus, with no air conditioning, there was however an overhead fan & a small fan on bedside table.
- itchyfeet2497 (8/5): A genuine surprise. - This hotel was a genuine surprise.
An original 100 year old hotel with an extremely comfortable bed & excellent WiFi.
Room was small & quite dark but I loved the added touch of complimentary water , the Smart TV & the surprisingly well stocked (even some ice cream & butter) & super clean kitchen facility at the end of the corridor .... plus key pad access to rooms, instead of keys.
Balcony was a bonus, although I didn't have an opportunity to enjoy it.
No ear bending "music" here-which was greatly appreciated & usually one of the big turn offs for neighbourhood hotels.
Never at any time was noise from the public areas imposing on the upstairs rooms- & I am super sensitive to any noise!
The hotel is about 2 km outside the main town area, although once you work out the bus route, there is a fairly regular bus service & a bus stop is just metres away.
Two external bathrooms (with baths)-were clean & I never had to wait to use them.
The one downer was no air conditioning on a particularly hot day, but there were 2 fans in the room which, properly positioned , meant sleep was still possible.
I didn't eat there but for me, the menu was fairly limited & not available on Sunday.
A genuinely pleasant stay & I would not hesitate to return- although maybe not in the heat of summer Nothing
- Angelica (7/5): - Staff were so friendly No air con unfortunately
- heather (10/5): - It's central to shops and bus and trains. Lovely staff nice also very quite during my stay of 3 days. Much convenient with having access from the room to the balcony didn't have to worry about disturbing other guests
- heather (10/5): - Everything was just great
- Neville (10/5): Great place to stay in Maitland - Great hotel Nothing
- Peter (8/5): Freshly painted, clean and comfortable. Shared bathrooms were part of the deal and the pricing. -
- Simon (10/5): -
- Willmer (10/5): Great location, amazing staff. Loved every minute - The attention was great. They helped us with two out of the ordinary requests. Nothing
- Amber (8/5): - Cheap for a night or 2 stay No hot water for a shower heard the shower dripping all night
- Sharon (4/5): -
- Sharon (4/5): You get what you pay for I guess! - It was OK for the price but very old pub that needs renovation. Bathroom was clean. Very limited dinner menu and the rump steak was tough as a boot! The fan light above the bed flickered continuously so couldn't have it on. The bed was old and uncomfortable.
- Levy (10/5): Family Hotel Maitland is exceptional - What an immaculate old renovated hotel. The Manager Daniel is the most accommodating, forgiving, friendly man who loves all his guests. And his team are obviously hand picked because they show the exact empathy as he does. Just so you know, there is no microwave in the room or air con, but the building is so old and insulated you don't need anything other than a fan. And the public Kitchenette at the end of of the hall is perfectly clean and stocked. And the price $85 a night, brilliant, just make sure you book on line because it's not done through the hotel. All I can say say, is PERFECT!!! Well done running a tight show Daniel, you're a legend 👏. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Thankyou again. Nothing, loved it.

- Nicole (9/5): The vibe hotel - Ease of checking in. The rooms are fairly basic but are great value and bed comfortable. The rooms are styled well and you feel welcomed. Suited what I needed. Walls are thin so you hear other occupants but not really a problem though. Nice well appointed kitchenette. The hotel felt comforting and welcoming. A lot of thought has gone into the vibe of the hotel. The bathrooms are original with a modern retro touch. I loved the family hotel and is my 2nd time staying. Will continue to stay when visiting Maitland. Well done to staff. Nothing. If you looking for a main stream, boring clinical hotel The Family Hotel not for you.
- Greg (8/5): - location was perfect for me. $5 beers tasted like some $12 beers, but some $12 beers taste like $3 beers, so it's still a good $5 beer.. some of the $12 beers
- Sue (8/5): Great overnight stay, very nice meals and lovely staff - Loved the gorgeous old building, great meal downstairs, small but comfortable room and shared bathroom was close, very clean and quiet. Only the traffic noise due to being at the front of the building, though is to be expected in this area .
- Zeng (10/5): -
- Marek (10/5): - all

- Dusan (10/5): -
- Chad (10/5): - Good location. Met the owners, great people. Had some tasty cocktails at the bar downstairs. Asked for an earlier check in and service was great. Everything was easy. Nothing. All was good.

- PAUL (9/5): -
- Davina (7/5): Traditional Aussie hotel vibes - Loved the guest kitchenette with Microwave, kettle, fridge & tea making supplies. The rooms all had heaters & portable fans. Contact check in. The fabulous cleaning gal Kate was so helpful. The rooms are dated & a little musty. Balcony door locks didn’t feel very secure. The live music downstairs in the Pub can be loud at times when you want to rest but you should expect that.
- Andrew (8/5): Great Old School Pub Stay - Great bar & dining, casual atmosphere.
- olfart (5/5): - Good access, plenty of parking Too noisy
- Alexander (1/5): -
- Whistler (7/5): The stay was great and we thank you guys for having us. - everything was Great, but adding an extra night on was a run around but the stay with good so thank you. The run around for the extra night Calling here and there
- chayse (10/5): -
- Van der Werf (9/5): Great place to stop - The people and location No door on the shared shower and no smart tv.
- Madeline (10/5): -
- ian (8/5): Good, friendly atmosphere - Traditional country hotel facilities but quite nicely renovated. Plenty of power points and free wifi.. Convenient evening and breakfast dining room. Excellent friendly and helpful young manager/owner. Food menu reasonable but not really exciting. Paper cups used instead of real cups.
- Barry (8/5): -
- Rosetta (8/5): - I really liked the view and the restaurant
- Zana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional - The towels and linen was really clean and cozy. I enjoy my time there, better than my expectations. The only suggestion is that includes aromatic dispensers such as Glade can create a fresh atmosphere. But not issues about hygiene. All was clean and tidy
- Renee (8/5): Very good -
- Shehbaz (5/5): Good for mon to thu stay. Not recommended for weekends as too noisy - Location and access to my work place Noise from downstair bar and other guests in the hall.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (4/5): Disappointing - Easy check in.
Has style.
The old world feel. Not enough on the bed to be warm
No doona!
I had to look for blankets.
The door shutters outside banged all night.
We left in the night as no sleep had.
The bathroom shower dripped.
The bathroom door hard to close.

- Steve (8/5): Very good -
