Breakfast was basically non existent and the room was never cleaned during our three day stay. If you want modern amenities i wouldn't recommend this motel. This would be a last resort type of place.

• itsmissyd (2/5): Bait and switch!! - We booked this room months in advance for a family reunion. What was supposed to be 85/night ended up being over 200/night! This place is not worth that rate at all. They refused to refund so we had to stay here because that was too much money to waste. This hotel is dirty, dated, and the people working here aren't friendly at all. It's hard to tell who is who here because nobody wears uniforms, name tags, or anything. Upon checking into the room, the room was dirty. It was so obvious that it hadn't been cleaned(see pics). The room had a bad paint job. The a/c didn't work. The free continental breakfast was just stale cereal, stale bread, and muffins. This is likely intentional because they have a food menu that you can buy, not free. You have to pay for it if you want eggs, bacon, or anything else. We ended up buying breakfast elsewhere. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place isn't it.

Okay overall for the weekday price but over priced on weekends. For the $200 up charge they could at least serve a good breakfast.

From $85 up to $212, even higher with taxes and such. Tjan going to the room and garbage on the floor in the hallway, there the whole time. and in the room itself, garbage on the floor. Bathroom was not cleaned. Wasn't vacuum in who knows long. Now let's check out the morning breakfast, oh joy, stale cereal and old bread, that's what the most expensive hotel in Oscoda should have. But hey you can get buy some cooked eggs for $8 possibly from a microwave. You tell them this is insane and yet they look at you like, what's the problem, here's my list. Completely befuddled by it. As far as decor, the lobby outside looks good, however your room is in something that looks a warehouse trailer. Curb appeal is not an asset. The slamming doors are a joy. I guess slow closing quiet doors are too much to ask for. Remember, after all this is a high end resort that charges more than anyone in the area. Side note; perhaps it was laundry day, maybe that's why you can't tell who is an employee and who is not. So if travel a lot as we do and like being up charged because a local event is in town (15-20 art booths) as if people are coming from all over. A dirty room and hallway with a bonus of inedible food and slamming doors to jolt you out of bed. This is the place for you! Thank you for ripping us off. This place isn't even worth the $85

• Verified traveler (8/5): - The lady at the desk was amazing! This was our 2nd year staying. She was friendly and so kind to us. There was a night manager and his family folding towels one night and my kids and I were playing with a balloon that was left in the pool and he came and took it from me and said we couldn't play with it because if it popped it would ruin the filter. I guess we looked like the type of trash that would leave garbage in a pool... it was rude and very strange to be scolded. Especially since he took the balloon and set it right back in the pool area where we found it?! But all in all a lovely stay.

Pool area looked ok - kids were having fun. But creepy with a horror-movie vibe, crazy maze layout trying to find the free breakfast which totally disappointed, of course. There were modern updates such as nice new microwave ovens, nice mini-fridge, decent updates to sink & shower faucets, etc. Bedding was fine except for the uninvited guests, towels ok. I'll say they're trying...

It kept three people up all night. The forth person got some sleep but not enough since he was facing a three hour drive next morning..
• Verified traveler (8/5): Fine for under $80 - Needs a lot of work, we stayed on 7/4 and the price for room was disgusting for what little they offered. The breakfast they offered was a huge disappointment. Coffee was good and the staff were very friendly. I would stay again. Not for more than 1/4 of the price I paid.

• Dayna (2/5): Disgusting nasty place. - This place was nasty and disgusting. First off it looks like something you would see in a horror movie. They say no smoking but when we walked in the room it smells like an ashtray. There was cigarette burns on the toilet. The paint was peeling all over. There was dirt all over the walls, the dresser, and the head boards. There was mold all over. It was way too expensive for something like this. I couldn’t get a refund. Shame on you that’s not how you run a business!

And that I would have to pay for the second room even though I had already paid. She was also very rude. We got in touch with hotels.com who called about giving us a refund she refused. • kmR4952GY (2/5): Awful experience - Rodeway Inn was one of the worst hotels I've ever experienced. It was so bad that we tried to leave after the first night but they wouldn't give us a refund for the other nights we already paid for unless we paid a penalty in an amount of the manager's choosing. We tried everything we could think of to get our money back so we could go to a cleaner hotel, but it would have cost so much we felt forced to stay. Oscoda is very nice and I do recommend visiting, but I recommend you stay somewhere that's not Rodeway Inn. The photos online make it look clean and updated, so we felt scammed after seeing what the room was really like. The attached photos show some of the issues with our room. We also had problems with noise (people being loud and running down the hallway in the middle of the night, loud voices and TV noises from neighbors during sleeping hours). The man working at the front desk was very unhelpful with the problems we had and we felt like he was so happy that he got our money and we were trapped staying in this horrible room because he wouldn't refund our money. He kept smiling when he said he wasn't going to refund what we paid. I told him about how dirty the room was and how uncomfortable we were but he just said they don't have any other rooms and refused to help. I don't feel it should be legal for a business to rent rooms to people when they're in the condition this room was. There should be some bare minimum standard of updating and cleanliness before you can legally charge money to stay there. Overall, it was just an awful experience and I felt like other people looking for a hotel in this area should know about it to avoid what we went through.

When we arrived, we found a lot of work being done to the facility. We did not stay as the room we were given appeared to be still under remodeling. Nice people and I am sure once they are done it will be a nice facility. The price did not reflect this inconvience.

But, everything - every square inch - needed to be repaired, repainted or updated or something. The remote for the tv wouldn't even work half the time. Had to remove the batteries and put them back in. The beds were terrible. Threadbare carpet. Dirty trim. Never again sight unseen.

• Janel (4/5): Avoid avoid avoid - Dirty room, food on night stand so we ended up wiping down everything on our own, carpets are dirty, smells bad when you walk in, nobody answers the phone at the front desk, not enough towels or paper products for the length of stay, ran out of toilet paper and called 3 times over a day to get someone to bring some, instead of a normal blanket, there was a duvet cover with a sheet over it, air conditioning kept turning off randomly
• Matt (6/5): - The good: the beds were comfortable. The front desk attendant was friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located to Oscoda. The halls and rooms are spacious. The water pressure is awesome. The bad: the pool showed heavy signs of wear and poor maintenance. The common areas of the hotel aren’t air conditioned but the guest rooms have their own A/C units. The handle came off our sink faucet. Thankfully, it was easily replaced. The hallway and room smelled musty. No continental breakfast. The coffee, while free, tasted terrible.

• Patricia (4/5): - This overall stay was unpleasant. Although the check in staff was friendly, you had to go back to the street to a separate driveway to rooms. There were no exterior locks which seemed unsafe because anyone could come in hall from side doors. Once we entered we smelled strong unpleasant cooking smells that never went away throughout our stay which was unusual since there was no food service. The overall smell of halls and rooms was not good. The noise level in halls in evening in morning was loud. There was also no door separating pool and game area from rooms and there were many people yelling and playing music loudly in evening. The bed was fine, and I have never given a hotel a poor review before but this is warranted from our experience.
• Bridgett (2/5): - We had reservations at Camp Inn in Oscoda Mi Fri. We arrived after a 4 hr drive and found the place to be dirty and run down. The outside door handle was broke and there was a large chain dangling with a large pad lock. We felt it was an unsafe and shady environment and decided to leave and not stay. The bathroom was disgusting and the place had a terrible odor. It truly made me nauseated being there. We stayed at 3 other hotels during the week and were very happy with our stays.

• Ron (8/5): - We were on a family trip with three kids, ages 6-11, so the pool was always going to be the most important thing, and they LOVED it. It was larger than the average hotel pool and open later too. Plus, waterslides. :) The staff were wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. Many places require two rooms for five people, and that makes for an odd (and pricier) trip. We were able to book just one room, and Brandy made sure we had everything we needed. Some of the property looked recently renovated, but the building we were in was obviously older. The arcade games were out of order and there was no continental breakfast, but we knew that when we booked. Overall, a great place to stay with young kids.

• Michael (8/5): - The room was large, clean and quiet. It included flat screen television with cable, microwave oven and small refrigerator. The on-site restaurant was being remodeled during our stay and therefore was not available to us for meals. It was conveniently located on U.S. North 23 without having any significant road noise in the room. Adjacent to the pool and recreation area, there are some coin washing machines and dryers. The inn is located within 10 minutes of Oscoda downtown with its small family-own and fast-food restaurants. Although not elegant, it is a few tiers above the rustic cabin options in the area. Daily room service was not automated. It needed to be requested.
• Julie Ann (6/5): - Property was not what was advertised.. no sauna, no restaurant and no continental breakfast. Entry way very dirty. People standing by the entry door smoking. Spoke with management in the morning and was told I was on the previous owners website??? So I wonder how my reservation went through. I’ve asked for a refund of part of my payment seeing as the things I went there for were not available.
• Keith (4/5): - The interior of the room was good, but it appeared they had some long term people in residence that had no repect for others, their kids wer screaming at the top of theyre lungs for hours on end and from 6:00 am till late at night. The parents were just as noisy banging and crashing around the place all afternoon and evening. Discusting behavior, i wont be back or recommend anyone stay there..
• Richard (10/5): - Well the toilet was Lose. I told the staff about it. We were gone for sometime we came back and the toilet was still not fixed. A lot of weeds around the facility I think it could’ve looked better. No extra toilet paper in the room. Either than that the room was very clean the staff was very polite. Would I go there again? • Laurence (2/5): - Rundown,poor building conditions and lighting, strange odors refused to spend the night. Ended up driving home. Asked for a refund to my card but probably will not happen.
• Timothy James (10/5): - The location is only 3 miles from the public access beach. The beach is beautiful. There are a few ice cream places near the beach. It was also not far from Hale MI where we had a reunion.
• Aaron (8/5): - While it doesn’t look like much on the outside the Camp Inn Lodge was a nice place to stay. Staff was friendly and the room was spacious and updated.

• Rachel (10/5): Yes! - Guys, the beds are so comfortable, clean everything, spacious rooms, family friendly and across from Lake Huron. The staff is so welcoming and helpful. I can’t wait to stay again!
• Belinda (6/5): Camp Inn Lodge Stay. - It was clean. Just rustic. No breakfast and no restaurant as it was advertised.
• Ismael (4/5): Better than others.... - Quick biz trip 2 nights. Not many choices in the area but this hotel is better than others I have stayed at. Pretty worn. Rooms look they have been updated. Bed is very comfortable and the room was clean upon arrival.

• Mark (8/5): - Does not look like much from the outside or in the hallways, but the room was spacious, clean and HVAC worked well. Perfectly adequate accommodations for the money. Will most likely stay again if ever in the area for events.

• Carla (4/5): - It would be a really nice place if they cleaned more. The hallways and all of the common areas were not clean at all. The pictures must be old ones as it did not look as nice in person. The first room we were out in wasn’t finished cleaning. The vacuum and cleaning supplies were still in the room. The second room the heater wasn’t working properly! The towels they use for the shower were tiny! I’m not big and I couldn’t even wrap it around me! I would not return here. The staff was friendly but they need more cleaning training for sure!

They treat you family and always felt very welcomed, safe plus the rooms are huge, clean and I could go on.. we usually do not even do these reviews; but this hotel was a life saver for us.. Please do not count on any bad news as truth, some maybe just a one time occurrence or some thing entirely even true! You won’t regret staying here! Great place! I get it’s better in rye summer too! So much area! We want to give a shout out to the employee Mandy as well. She went over and above for us the entire weekend! Thanks to Mandy !

• Tito (8/5): - Nice little hotel set on 14 acres backing up to the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Centrally located to Oscoda and Tawas, it was convenient to access the area’s features. The attached restaurant made dinner convenient after a tiring hike. The specials were very good. The free breakfasts were simple and convenient, however lacking in imagination. There was a heavy use of plastic including styrofoam cups that should be replaced with more eco-friendly utensils.
• TawniSmith (2/5): - The room given hadnt been rented since Sept 14, we checked in Oct 11. Rm, beds were not made, toilet was full of poop. Was told there would be no charge, moved us to another rm, which we had to retrieve our own toilet paper, hand towel, wash cloths, coffee. When we went to shower the next morning, the shower had all the previous guests shampoo, wash cloths snd used soap in the shower. Tried to get a refund since we were told there would be no charge for the rm and was billed in full. The response was, " misunderstanding, Jillian mesnt there would be no charge to move us" what? Were we supposed to pay a cleaning fee, no charge to move us, out of a disgusting filthy room. Into a partially cleaned room.
• Heather (10/5): Birthday Bash - We're locals with two little boys who love swimming and the water slides at the hotel are a huge hit with them. The blue slide unfortunately has a very slow waterflow and doesn't work very well, but they didn't care, my oldest was just happy to be able to swim for his birthday. The room was lovely. Large, clean and comfortable. On personal note, I absolutely adore the fact that the Camp Inn Restaurant is a gluten-free friendly setting where they can accommodate such a serious dietary restriction on request. There is not a single restaurant in North East Michigan that I know of who will alternatively prepare their menu for a gluten intolerant customer and it is utterly invaluable to me. Not to mention - the food is delicious and generous portioned. We will definitely be back again soon. Thank you for such an amazing experience, the DiGiovanni family appreciates you.
