- Karen (2/5): - This is a tough review. The property was excellent, as shown in the pictures. Location and view were nice as well. Now, this is where things fall apart.
When traveling, I travel mostly by mass transportation. The bus stops in Sydney are not the easy to find, but there are several near this hotel. That is the easiest means of travel around Sydney; the "metro" does run to further out spots, and getting to those stop by bus is super easy. The 'Hop On / Off" tours also stop across the street from this venue.
Now, the Aussie Navy has a fleet docked right next to this venue. Pretty, but if you are after peace and quiet, you are most likely to "disturbed" by their megaphone. Didn't bother me, but I'm used that sort of noise.
Be aware the property manager will charge you 3% credit card fee for the amount paid to Expedia as well as charge your credit card for a cleaning fee ($90 AUD) and a damage deposit ($500 AUD) and a 3% credit card fee for these charges as well.
Additionally, when I first booked my reservation, I received an email from the property manager saying they would not be able to honor the rate. How is this my problem? That should be between the property manager and Expedia, not the customer.
Expedia was no help what so ever resolving these issues, and is it was a non-refundable booking, I had no choice but to proceed with it.
Lastly, the venue is actually inside of a hotel, and I was asked by the property manager not to mention I was renting via Expedia.
