Guest Reviews
- Angela (8/5): Lovely little rural cottage - Cute little cottage with all the amenities you might need. Woke up to the sound of birds, lovely get away from the city. Location is a fair way out of Chipping Norton and there’s no nearby amenity if you don’t have a car as the only pub in Salford had closed down.
The radiator in the bedroom has a blue panel light which turns on intermittently in the night, with no way of covering it, but you’re not allowed to turn it off.
No milk or creamer to have with the instant coffee provided.
Front door didn’t lock properly.
Asked to take own rubbish out after stay.

- Michael (8/5): Lovely little place for some private peace and quiet. - Bed was a little on the firm side for us
- Tina (8/5): - Very lovely cottage in perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. Very good commumication from hosts. We had a lovely time and would definitely return. We took our dog with us and the main gate which has shared access with the property behind kept being left open by the residents. Luckily our dog does not wander far but this could be potentially dangerous especially at night time when you know you have closed it and the next time you look, you realise it's open. This happened on many occasions. Also, with it being Christmas a few festive touches, maybe even just a small xmas tree would have been nice.
- Benita (8/5): Fun , warm . Great facilities and Lorraine’s mum was lovely . Thank you - Great location
Wonderful for our dog she loved it Very easy to visit Daylesford and also Diddly Squat farm
- Emily-Jayne (8/5): -
- Ashford Traveller (9/5): Ideal for Couples - A fully equipped unit ideal for a couple, we were very comfortable and plan on another stay. Slight problem with communication but it didn't cause a significant problem. The otherwise excellent bathroom only has a small vanity basin which, together with the shelf above, was simply too small for anything apart from hand washing.
- John (10/5): Weekend Away cotswolds - How quiet and relaxing 😌 ideal location for chipping Norton only 2 miles away. Would of preferred an earlier check-in say 2pm to 3pm as have more time to enjoy first day but otherwise nothing to dislike.
- Mal Atkinson (10/5): - The location is great
Idilic, quiet with a lovely local pub Didn't spend enough time there.
Would book for longer next time.
Not a criticism, but a pay as you go car charger would be a great addition.
- Helen (9/5): A lovely stay for us and the dog. - Location. Comfortable. Thoughtful touches eg water and milk in fridge etc. Need further guidance on use of heaters. Front room heater slow to come on. Bedroom heater would not stay on - lights kept flashing.
- Lauren (8/5): Brilliant and wouldnt hesitate to stay again! - Exactly the right size for a couple and had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The mattress and bedding was lovely and random, but i really liked the electric radiators as you felt the heat straight away.
Very central to everything we wanted to see and visit and really liked how private the property is - also loved the little pugs who greeted us at the gate further up the path!! Lots of wasps appearing from somewhere, as there was quite a few dead ones when we arrived.
Toilet brush was not clean at all.
- Emily (10/5): LOVED IT! - The perfect stay. We loved the quiet atmosphere and the cottage was completely spotless!
- john (10/5): - Perfect location, beautiful place.
- Ian (10/5): -
- Zach (9/5): Great stay, would highly recommend. - Very comfortable stay, the property was extremely clean and had everything that we required. Good location with easy access to both Chipping Norton and Stowe on the wold Nothing.
- Paul (9/5): Lovely accommodation. Quiet peaceful location. Recommended. - Excellent accommodation and ideal location which was quiet and peaceful. Facilities in the property were also excellent.
We have stayed before and said we would come again and it was worth it. Nothing.
- Avelline (9/5): Thankyou for a wonderful stay for hubby’s birthday. The cottage is warm, comfortable and very clean. It is very well equ - Quiet, clean and comfortable Nothing
- Molly (8/5): Home from home - Lovely little cottage, a home from home. So clean and thought out, even down to a pint of milk in the fridge to enjoy a cup of tea!
Host has thought of everything you could need, kitchen basics including washing up liquid, cooking oil, tea/coffee/suager, even shower gel.
A great base to enjoy the Cotswolds or just the local area. You need a car as it’s in a quiet village. There is a pub next door which was recommended but wasn’t open when we stayed but there’s plenty of other options for food, you just need to travel.
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (8/5): Relaxing, comfortable quiet break. - Located next door to The Black Horse pub.
Plenty of walks nearby.
Really comfortable double bed.
Great shower.
Modern and clean inside. Carving knife and kitchen knife were blunt.
Nowhere to store food other than fridge and freezer.
Wifi connection for HD channels on TV intermittent; though I wasn't there to watch TV.
- Alexei (10/5): Exceptional - Exactly as advertised, clear communication from host.
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage, so clean and you have everything you could possibly need for your stay. Would definitely recommend!!
- Amy (9/5): Superb - Quaint little detached cottage in the Cotwolds. 10 mins away from Clarksons farm and 5 mins away from Chipping Norton High Street. Black Horse serves lovely food and lovely walks nearby.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Inger (8/5): Very good - Lovely cottage, beautiful village and a really good pub The mattress was very firm. Would have been nice with a thick top mattress.
- Paul (10/5): Superb - Beautiful, clean, easy check in and out bed was very comfortable, really nice cottage.
- Steven (8/5): Great few nights stopover 👍 - Very nicely prepared and comfortable Nothing really
- Mrs (6/5): Lovely location very close to a lot of local attractions but just a few too many negatives for us - The off street private parking was great!
The rainfall shower was lovely too! The sofa was too low for me and very uncomfortable ☹️
The lack of sharp knives made preparing any time of food a challenge.
The bathroom sink was the smallest I’ve ever seen in my life and it was a task to brush your teeth and rinse without head butting the shelf directly above it.
As for the cockerel that lives over the back ……… being woken up at the crack of dawn was not a part of me!
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was spotless with all the equipment and facilities you need. Perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds, especially for Cornwell Manor where our wedding was taking place. We'll definitely be back. People parking across the road on occasions made getting in and out of the drive difficult, especially with a big car.
- Darren (10/5): A relaxing visit to the Cotswolds - Excellent location, very clean and peaceful Nothing
- Peter (8/5): Overall an enjoyable stay - Lovely location Basin in bathroom could be bigger
- Paul (10/5): Lovely accommodation in a beautiful area and would love to come back. - It was a perfect break in a lovely location. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Loved everything
- Claire (9/5): Clean, well located and just what we needed. Beautiful. - Perfect location not only for walks but good restaurants and pubs and other destinations. Very clean and very accommodating hosts. Didn’t want to leave!
- Bernadette (10/5): Wonderful - The location was fabulous
So peaceful and quite
Sleep was amazing Nothing
- Danielle (10/5): Great stay, we had a lovely weekend away and the cottage had a very warm and welcoming feeling! - It was in a beautiful location that was easily accessible. The cottage felt warm and welcoming. It has its own parking. The owner left a hand written note and a bottle of Prosecco, which was a lovely touch! The cottage is very comfortable and left like a home away from home. The bed is extremely comfortable! The cottage comes full with tea/coffee and all cock appliances. We were very happy with our stay and will definitely return at a later date! It’s hard to say any negatives, but the only thing I would say is the towels provided could be little softer. This is my own personal preference and did not impact our stay at this beautiful cottage.
- Annalisa (9/5): Superb - Everything was provided, lovely space
- Angelena (10/5): fantastic - CLEAN very lovely cottage nothing it was perfect
- Keeley (10/5): Perfect little getaway cottage. - Everything, it was immaculate, little touches like milk, biscuits and cereal was so nice, there was everything we needed for our stay.
Garden was well kept and perfect little sun trap, the location was great, nice quiet village and close enough to town if we wanted a wander.
Will definitely be recommending and will 100% book again in the future. Bigger wine glasses needed 😂
- Linzi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jak (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (8/5): Very good - location bathroom was tiny, shower was poor
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Marlene (10/5): Lovely quiet, self contained apartment, centrally located for exploring the Cotswolds. - Cherry Tree Cottage was easy to get to, cute in appearance, very comfortable and thoughtfully appointed. It was very clean, spacious and with great communication from the host. Definitely not their fault, but the nearby inn hasn’t been open for some time and there are no other nearby dining options.
- Ian (8/5): enjoyable - very clean, excellent wifi, well equipped bathroom too small, especially around the washbasin.
- Caroline (9/5): Great stay for weekend - Clean and comfortable. Well equipped and easy to locate Size of bathroom.
- Ross (6/5): Good except for minor issues - Great quiet location Their was no dishwashing detergent, or hand wash, and some of the kitchen condiments were out of date. The windows were smeared and the sink hadn’t been wiped. There was two small packets of sugar, these were hard with moisture.
These seem minor issues but are irritations upon arrival but the supermarket was 15 minutes away.
- Lena (10/5): Peaceful.very comfortable. Private with lovely garden. A lovely break. - Accommodation was fantastic and perfectly situated for visiting local places of interest. Had an amazing time. Nothing to dislike.
- Simon (8/5): Really tucked away - Everything was fine and well labelled.. , the bathroom was very small and uncomfortable. Lounge/diner/kitchen was a little bit poorly arranged.. Nothing in the immediate area, you will need a car to get to Chipping Norton town centre..
Lovely Cockerel to wake you in the morning :-)
