They couldn’t do anything else. It’s an old stone building
- Mairi (10/5): - During our visit to the Padstow townhouse, we felt extremely welcomed and enjoyed our stay. The staff were extremely attentive and were very helpful, providing all the services that we required in a friendly manner. The room we had, the Toffee Apple suite, was extremely comfortable, clean and quiet. There was very little that we did not like about our stay. Although the items in the breakfast hamper were of an exceptionally good standard we found that there were several items that we did not want to eat for varying reasons. Also, on the night before our last day, the tradition is to give the guest some hot chocolate. This is a lovely gesture. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate has alcohol in it. Due to medical reasons neither of us are able to drink alcohol so the hot chocolate was wasted. In order to save on food being wasted as well as hot chocolate, perhaps there could be an option at the beginning of a guest stay for the staff to go through the items in the hamper to see which ones the guest might wish an alternative choice, i.e. a duck egg or a chicken egg. When making hot chocolate the guest could be asked whether they wish alcohol in it.

Rooms are spacious and each one unique. Staff are welcoming and helpful and the continuous stream of little extras e.g. a 'welcome' toffee pudding and clotted cream are a delight. The breakfast hamper is substantial and of excellent quality.

The little touches made it extra special: a beautiful flask at night filled with hot chocolate and a liqueur, accompanied by homemade cakes and pastries—pure heaven. It is one of the most exceptional places I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in many top-notch hotels. What they offer here is luxury with lots of special touches and treats. They make you feel very special and the rooms, service and massive breakfast hamper are outstanding. If you eat at any of their three restaurants (fabulous!), they can book it for you and you are treated as special guests. Honestly a faultless hospitality product that I have not seen elsewhere. It's hilly to get back up to the townhouse, but even this is taken care of—they have a car that brings you back if you need it.

Couldn't fault any aspect of our stay.

- Linda (10/5): I doubt that our experience at Padstow Townhouse could be bettered anywhere. - The staff were fantastic, really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. The property was exceptional, really beautiful and a true home from home. The breakfast was really delicious, most items being either homemade or locally sourced. The pantry was inspirational, containing just about everything you can think of if you are peckish at any time during your stay. Nothing!

- Sarah (10/5): Top notch ideal luxurious, romanic hideaway. - The staff were extremely welcoming. There were lovely little extras such as hot sticky pud when we arrived & a thermos of hot chocolate in our room before bed. The breakfast basket was exceptional and a real host of surprises very nicely done. We felt very well looked after and were very comfortable. There is a honesty pantry full of goodies very well done and tempting however felt that it was a wee bit expensive.

- Karan (8/5): Very good - Wonderful bathroom and fabulous toiletries - wish I'd bought some while I was there. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They managed to book us a table at The Mariners, which we hadn't been able to secure online. We returned to a lovely pudding waiting for us in our suite and a flask of hot chocolate. Both delicious. The bed was comfy and the decor 5*. Wonderful ambience. I had a birthday card in our room and at The Mariners - nice touch. The sofa wasn't very comfy and was in the wrong position to see the TV (easily fixed). Our breakfast was lovely, but our boiled eggs were hard - disappointing. I would have preferred to have a proper cooked breakfast. The meal at The Mariners was delicious but too salty for our personal taste - several other people on adjoining tables said the same.
