Guest Reviews
- D & A (3/5): - Location. Spaciousness. Rock hard beds.
Broken window handle, unable to close the main window hence letting in cold air.
Oven door wouldn't close.
Carpet stains.
Told to be mindful of noise as the owners lived downstairs yet we had to endure screaming children in the morning.
The owners have seemingly given up on the maintenance of this penthouse. A cheaper caravan stay would be recommended than this.
- Nikki (9/5): Beautiful property and plenty space for 6 people, more geared up for families than 3 couples - The property was spacious and in a great location. Plenty information provided to help us out, the kitchen was fully equipped, the rooms had plenty storage and space. There was only 3 of us so this was not an issue, we did consider bring our husbands which would have been an issue. There is only one shower which was in the en-suite of one of the bedrooms the main bathroom didn’t have a shower which meant we needed to queue for one shower. If they had been 3 couples we’d have struggled to get ourselves ready, the power of the shower was an issue and we needed to wait for it heat up, by the third shower it’s was more cold that hot. Pressure of water in the kitchen was low too

- Deborah (10/5): Lovely apartment - Really nice apartment in a good location. Access to heating was a nice surprise! Well equipped with everything you could need. Nothing to report here!
- Angela (10/5): A luxury stay - A high quality apartment in a lovely location.
Everything needed for a family night away, especially with gated off-road parking for 2 cars!
Already looking forward to April visit. I hadn't fully read the description so hadn't expected the 48 steps from car to apartment.
- Craig (4/5): Great location, terrible bed and felt unclean because of stains in the carpet. - Location and size of apartment. Well appointed kitchen. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in. Carpet was heavily stained and needs a good clean.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Very comfortable, spacious apartment - Quiet situation, sea view and sunset from the balcony. Very comfortable sofas and beds. Very spacious apartment. Dog friendly and family friendly
- Jason (10/5): -
- DIANNE (9/5): Perfect for our visit to meet up with family and friends - Plenty of room, warm, comfy beds.

“Great hosts! Very kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Really appreciated their hospitality.”
- Kathy (9/5): Lovely ,spacious apartment in an excellent location - Excellent quiet location. Off street parking . Very comfortable squishy sofas. Good view. For 5 people would have liked 2 sets of keys
- Stephen (6/5): Good location. Spacious. Needing TLC. - Plenty of space. WiFi was good. Quiet location. Parking was easy. The apartment was is in need of some TLC. Everything feels a bit tatty, carpets had stains and marks on them. Oven is in poor condition. Pillows are like small bricks.
- Christine (10/5): A fantastic place and location to stay. - Location is fantastic! The apartment is superb!
The rooms were well appointed clean and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped with all main essentials.
We Loved the lighted beams in the living/dining room. They Added a warm cosy atmosphere.
Our two dogs made themselves at home and enjoyed their Southport adventure.
We can imagine the terraced roof area to be a perfect place to watch the sunsets during the warmer months.
The stairs were a little challenging to get up to flat 3 for my elderly parents but on a positive note ,good exercise for all of us! We hope to return in 2026!
Thank you Babette.

- lee (10/5): - We liked everything about the place the location was great and the property was amazing Nothing
- David (9/5): It was a perfect location for the beach and the town with plenty of space and well equipped. - Great Views The stairs
- Verified traveler (4/5): Did not meet expectations cockroach found - Did not receive instructions. Arrived and stood unable to get in. The number on the booking was not in service. Managed to find another number but did not take calls, text only. Property has character but stained carpets were offputting. Wifi did not extend to bedrooms. Cockroach found in utensil drawer was alarming and the rest of the stay was then very uncomfortable.
- James (10/5): Short but sweet stay , but lovely apartment with many considerate features. - Very nice property will all mod cons
- jacqui (6/5): - The location and we enjoyed using the roof terrace. This apartment is in need of refurbishment.
- Ashley (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (4/5): Lack of care and attention - Good location to Southport main centre.
Nice sunset from terrace.
Large apartment
Good quality towels Carpets covered in stains (we told them and they said getting new carpets at the end of the season), fag butts scattered on outside terrace, box containing terrace cushions broken, so cushions soaking wet, kitchen dirty, drawers still got crumbs and stickiness, sink brown with stains. Cups and plates stained. The freezer compartment doors broken, blocked with ice and 2 chicken drumsticks still in there. Dishwasher old, rusty shelves and runners don’t work. Mattresses uncomfortable, we often got elbowed by a spring. It goes on and on. We wrote to the owners to complain and they offered to send in a cleaner and someone to look at the dishwasher, but we bought cleaning products ourselves as we didn’t want anyone in there whilst we were there. Also we shouldn’t have to be dealing with this / cleaners / repair people etc.

- Ann (10/5): Lovely stop over. - Recommend this property. Close to the park and the beach. Great facilities, well appointed rooms and even an outside terrace. Would definitely go back. Word of warning, there are a lot of stairs. This is a top flat and there are stairs to the front door too. Absolutely fine for us but anyone with mobility issues may struggle with it.

- Lauren (8/5): Pre-wedding night! - Spacious, clean and comfortable. Great communal area and good kitchen facilities. Large bedrooms. Terrace overlooking Victoria park was a nice touch. My partner stayed here with his groomsmen the night before our wedding - perfect apartment for the occasion. The shower facility wasn’t the greatest changing from hot to cold but nothing major to complain about

- Ching (9/5): Superb -
- Greg (10/5): - Wonderful stay. The apartment was very comfortable and in an excellent location
- Philip (5/5): Potentially a great place for a large group to stay let down by lack of care and attention to the needs of visitors. Wo - Lots of space. Very little toilet paper provided. Requested more from the owner just after 11.00pm when we discovered the problem but didn’t get a response until the next morning, when the owner apologised, blaming the cleaner. I had to drive around for 30 minutes late at night looking for a 24 hour shop.
Rather tricky taking luggage up two steep flights of stairs. Seat cushions left out and partially obstructing the second flight of stairs not a very attractive or welcoming feature.
- Lynda (10/5): Great. Willl come back - Wry spacious, clean and well furnished. Everything you need. Good location. Nothing
- Lisa (10/5): Cosy and spacious in a great location - Cosy, spacious, nicely decorated and very clear instructions on how to find the property and get inside. Very good value for money. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
- Anonymous (8/5): Great coastal property ideal for a relaxing stay - Size, cleanliness, amenities and location
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Goodburn (9/5): Superb - It was exactly like the pictures showed and really clean, lovely seating area, new kitchen, and huge bedrooms!
- Helen (7/5): Spcious apartment, close to all the attractions but far enough away to be peaceful. - Had a fabulous stay here. The rooms are huge with each of the bedrooms being large doubles with comfy beds, fabulous lounge area and balcony with far reaching views out to the elusive Irish Sea. Nice to have small tea/coffee/sugar sachets for our arrival * We agree with other reviews that the carpets are quite stained and the kitchen surfaces are sticky but can’t agree that the stairs are off putting ….. if you book a penthouse you have to expect stairs at the end of the day. Broken shelf in kitchen and the door to outside was loose on its hinges and the toaster didn’t work. Certain finishes are poor (cigarette burn on throws, paint unfinished around sils, finish to bath poor etc). Just a bit tired.
* Wi-Fi doesn’t work in the far bedroom
* Cups but no mugs in kitchen
* Caught our nephew on the balcony wall shortly after we arrived which given the drop was a bit scary! Fabulous views but perhaps a larger railing in future would safe guard that area more
* talking of scary, the choice of picture in one of the bedrooms was so odd for an otherwise stylish apartment. The kids refused to sleep in there as it was freaking them out (the lady with the eyes!)
* Tried to text the owners using the number given prior to our stay but didn’t get a response which was odd
- Janet (6/5): it was ok - steps to front door were littered with garden windfall; very weedy and unappealing..looked rather rundown. Plantpot adjacent to front door also full of weeds and lacked kerb appeal.
Steep staircase up to flat could be difficult to negotiate if carrying small baby or, elderly.
- Homewood (9/5): Superb -
- Louis (8/5): Very good -
- Louise (9/5): Brilliant location and beautiful inside. - Apartment is stunning inside & the views are beautiful. The stairs 🤦♀️
- Denise (10/5): Wonderful property great location quality - Not applicable self catering Nothing should have downloaded app for easier access
- Lee (10/5): Perfect place for perfect occasion - Our stay from start to finish was amazing, communication was perfect and the place was out of this world. It had everything we wanted and more
We will be back many times whenever we are staying in Southport
- Charlotte (10/5): Beautiful and clean apartment. Really clear communication. Stayed with friends who were playing golf and it was perfect - The size of the rooms and living space was amazing.
- Michael (3/5): Disappointing - Good bones but needs a full makeover Not clean, dirty oven, utensils.grubby carpets badly marked walls.
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (10/5): ideal for a short stay - large rooms, ideal location to walk into town, parking space, beds comfy towels were small, kitchen island was quite sticky when we arrived, shower trays needed in shower to put shampoo etc on
- Jeane (7/5): good location and the landlord and staff were friendly - area carpets needed cleaning
- Sarah (10/5): A fabulous apartment with excellent location - After researching chose this property due to its location to Victoria Park as we were part of one of the competing firework teams for Southport 2022. It did not disappoint it terms of location. The balcony was perfect to watch them without having to go to the park.
The apartment itself was spacious and comfortable. There are 3 very good sized bedrooms and as there were only 2 adults occupying it was more than adequate. Lovely location, fabulous views and ideal for our needs for the long weekend. There is a drive that I was told I could park on but there was plenty of space on the road outside so was happy to leave the car there. One of the evenings provided a stunning sunset from the balcony. Would definitely recommend and book again if out that way. Need a couple of baking trays. There's a fabulous kitchen and all mod cons but missing a baking tray.
Also felt there could be an information file - "how to" with things in the apartment, location of outside bins so could empty our rubbish. What could be recycled as a lot of councils have different policies, local taxi firms, hospital, doctors, takeaways. Maybe some information on the local area too - places to visit and eat etc would have been very helpful. There was a printed sign with "house rules" at the top of the staircase but the colour of font and location of this didn't make it easy to read.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - I like the privacy and the cleanness is a beautiful place to stay and relax. The check out time was a bit early for me .
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hosier (9/5): proper - clean good and well placed maybe mention you can park on the drive
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- James (6/5): Pleasant -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - The apartment had everything we could have needed and more.
The location was great and the owners really friendly and on hand if you need anything.
The pictures do not do it justice, as it is far bigger than I imagined. The ensuite was a nice surprise too.
Children are obviously welcome as everything you could possibly need is here. 2 travel cots, a cot bed, bedding, baby bath, changing mat etc. Not to mention a little box of toys. These should be mentioned in the description as it could save some families a bit of space in the car.
Over all, a fabulous stay and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
- Kenneth (8/5): Lovely stay - Good clean rooms, free wifi, large kitchen, spacious living room. Need to climb 2 flights of stairs. Best shower is in the en-suite.
