Guest Reviews
- Elena (8/5): - - very safe with key card access
- cozy privacy curtains
- good atmosphere, easy to meet others
- well-equipped kitchen
- helpful staff - area around is not very interesting
- got flea bites in the bed, maybe bad luck on my part
- Monika (7/5): -
- Alfredo (8/5): - La atención del personal La ubicación
- Santiago (10/5): Stay here, pretty nice hostal - The staff were great- awesome.
The bed was ok, fine.
The amenities were good.
The location is nice.
The price is terrific.
Everything was pretty clean. Just the bed, because it had some hairs but no much problem.

- Fierro-Calderón (8/5): Great hostal - Clean and good location. Kitchen is well organized and TV room is very comfortable Our room was too cold and the bathroom kept some humidity after showering (no ventilation)
- Jhon (10/5): -
- carolina (8/5): -
- Rebeka (8/5): Very good valie for money - Nice location, beautiful terrace, good kitchen! The bathroom was quite stuffy and sometimes there was no hot water.
- Karenlk (8/5): Very good - They gave detailed and accurate check in instructions, which made it easy to get in when I arrived after 1 AM (because my flight got in very late). The price was amazing ($10/night for a shared room), my bunk was very comfortable, roomy and private with a curtain, shelf, outlet etc inside. The place was clean and pleasant to hang out in, with indoor and outdoor common spaces, and it came with breakfast! Nothing. It was really good.
- Axelson (10/5): Comfortable hostel that makes you feel at home! - Staff are so wonderful! Ali and Emilio are the best :))) I also loved the patios and the free breakfast was a plus.
- Janne (9/5): Superb -
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Diana (8/5): Very good -
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (8/5): Noisy on a Friday night - Super clean
Breakfast included
Helpful and thoughtful staff
Central location Noisy - I am a light sleeper and the streets behind the property have bars and nightclubs. I have stayed here before without issue but this time, Friday night, I could hear bass from nearby between 1.30 and 4am. Earplugs don’t help with that because of the low frequency, similar for trying white noise. So woke up tired. Could be a one off and rooms that don’t have an exterior window would not be impacted as much
Hard pillow
- Pim (2/5): Would not recommend - Bad neighbourhood. I would recommend everyone to stay at the old center.
The hostel also provides misleading information about the distance to the center and activities they offer.
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maialen (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Rui (9/5): Superb - Pretty quiet. Nice staff. The room was clean. Hot water in the shower only lasted for a few minutes.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mteny (10/5): Exceptional - I tried three different hostels in Quito. This one is the cleanest and nicest. The kitchen is very nice, well equipped and clean. The dorms are spacious with only four beds and privacy curtains. It was quiet when I was there but other guests were friendly. Lots of common areas to hang out in. The area is not the nicest but honestly I think most of the tourist areas in Quito are not that nice.
- Matthieu (10/5): Best hostel I've stayed in - Everything N/A
- Roman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yu (10/5): Good hostel - Everything No
- Yuko (10/5): Breathtaking view from the rooftop in the middle of the capital - Good and super clean facilities that I’ve ever stayed in dorms, each bed with the curtains is wide enough, a nice kitchen, and especially the rooftop.
- Rachel (10/5): Lovely and comfortable hostel - Lovely room with storage and hot water and outside windows for the courtyard. Interesting property with lots of common spaces and terraces, lovely kitchen. The speaker for shared music is right outside the room which is a bit intrusive
- Paula (8/5): Was good for a night - Friendly, allowed later check in Showers are not all too appealing. Hot water but temperature not regulatable.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. All made with heart and love. Modern renovation, cozy common rooms, new good matresses and pillows. Really friendly and helpful staff. I felt like home in this hostel. During my stay the hostel was booked out, a popular place to stay in Quito. The street is calm and safe. Next to the hostel there is a cute restaurant El Cafecito with quite cheap prices.
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional - It was super clean and I like the style. Everyone was really helpful.
- Joanne (7/5): cheap hostel in good part of town. breakfast was cheap bread and butter. amazing friendly staff. has communal areas, but - terraces, friendly staff bathroom smelt damp, breakfast mediocre at best
- Giulia (6/5): Pleasant - Nice hostel with many rooftop open areas.
Definitely cheap The staff wasn't warm and flexible.
The breakfast is a joke and quite disgusting.
Also you have to pay to store your baggage for few days which I have never seen in other hostels
- Luzuriaga (10/5): Super central - Excelente
- Wing (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (9/5): Superb - Great hostel, great staff who helped get us up and running for our first night in the country. Comfy room and good bathrooms. Terrace looked really nice unfortunately didnt get to use it due to weather. Breakfast is basic, just bread, butter, jam and bananas, but it was enough to start our day. The windows in the twin room were very thin and rattled everytime somebody drove past, keeping us awake.
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious rooms. Beds have curtains for privacy. Several patios to enjoy the outside and a really comfortable living room. Basic breakfast also provided.
- Sabrina (10/5): Exceptional - Super well equipped hostel, friendly Staff and big dorms
- Alexandra (9/5): Chilled hostel with great value for money - Really relaxing atmosphere with various terraces and nice decor. Nice rooms with comfy beds and decent size lockers. Great value for money as it includes breakfast too. The nearby area had plenty of varied restaurant options too. The staff were also really welcoming and helpful E.g there was an issue with hot water in the shared bathroom so they opened up a private bathroom for me to use. Laundry service also had a quick turnaround. Nothing
- Patricia (5/5): Cold facility but warm friendly staff - The staff were wonderful. Friendly and helpful. Perhaps the best facility orientation I have been given in Ecuador. I was able to store my bag after check out for several hours before a late flight. Good hot water and good Wi-Fi. The hostel was quiet during the night. Free filtered water was appreciated. It was too cold for me both in the rooms and in the public areas. I had to wear a coat all the time as did many guests and staff. Breakfast although appreciated was very basic and didn’t vary-coffee, herbal tea one type of cereal, banana, bread and jam. The bed and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The quilt was nice though. There was a mothball type smell in my room and not sure if it was from constant humidity both from no fan in the bathroom and the inclement weather.
- Chiara (9/5): Amazing hostel. Would come back anytime. - Great hostel with amazing bunk beds. So comfortable and completely private. They have big lockers that fit your whole backpack.
The hostel is extremely clean and has a great kitchen to cook and a sorted fridge to store the food. Breakfast is simple but good.
It’s not a party place at all, even though there are many bars in the neighbourhood. I enjoyed that it’s calm and relaxed. It’s a short bus or taxi ride from the historic Center but the neighbourhood feels safer than the historic Center. You’ll have small shops and lots of restaurants right next to the hostel. Wifi could be better
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Travelingmixologist (9/5): Superb - After checking out you are charged $5 to use the kitchen, not great for those with late transfers out of Quito
- Veronica (10/5): Absolutely AMAZING in everything! Great costumer service! - Absolutely AMAZING! Great costumer service! all was great.
- Veronica (10/5): Exceptional - Everything It was all great
- Juliette (10/5): My favorite Hostel after 2 months of travels - I think this is my favorite hostel after two months of travel in Colombia and Ecuador! The facilities are great: there are three different terraces plus a TV/lounge room and a kitchen/dining room. When I was there it was more of a quiet vibe (not really a party hostel) but it was still easy to meet people and share a meal together. There are plenty of toilets and showers, so you don’t have to wait. Both the kitchen and toilets/showers were kept super clean (I usually hate using kitchens in hostels ;))
The dorms are great too: there are spacious and don’t feel crowded at all. There are large lockers that fit big backpacks + extra storage for clothes, shelves and hooks. Each bed has a curtain, two plugs, a light, a shelf… all small things but that really makes a difference to the dorm experience as you get a lot of privacy & comfort.
The breakfast is simple but all you need (toast, butter, marmelade, fruits, cereals and coffee).
Everyone was very helpful. They can also arrange day tours or longer tours (eg to the Amazon) although I personally didn’t use this service.
I extended my stay by one night and wish I could have stayed even longer! Nothing really, maybe just that the laundry service is a bit expensive (but very practical).
- Helen (8/5): A nice quiet hostel with great dorms - This is a small quiet hostel. The dorm beds are excellent - comfy, a curtain for relative privacy, and a shelf and power sockets. They provide large lockers for bags. The hostel is quite far from the historical centre but there are lots of restaurants and supermarkets around. The hostel has a kitchen. Not really a complaint as I like a quiet hostel, but there's no bar or anything and not much happening in the evenings.
- Radko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aleksander (10/5): Best hostel in Ecuador :) - Awesome hostel, best Ive been to in Ecuador. Nice quiet street and lots of terraces/common areas. The staff are super nice and it’s got a clean/modern and well-equipped kitchen. Nothing :)
- Stuart (10/5): great stay in Quito - Super quiet
very clean
informative staff a towel included would have been helpful
- Oxsana (9/5): Very good stay - Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, good location, good accommodations. n/a
- William (10/5): Exceptional - great location and pretty property
- Sabrina (7/5): To recommmend - The facilities were very clean and I especially liked the patios. Although, I was not able to take the breakfast as I had to leave early, I was allowed to grab some bananas that they provided.
A special thanks goes also to the kind staff that speaks fluently English and tried to help me after being robbed.
- Laura (9/5): definitely would go there agin! - i loved it! one of the best hostels so far! plenty of space in the room, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and plenty of space to hang and meet other travellers.
it’s also very quiet. it was a bit cold at night (but I stayed in other hostelsnin quito and it was the same)
- Kailasht (9/5): Superb - For the price I paid, $9 for a dorm bed, you can't get a better hostel in the La Mariscal area that includes a basic breakfast. Private bunk beds with curtains, light sockets, comfy beds, and big storage lockers (w locks) in the room without needing to have a lock. Basic breakfast - bread & butter/jelly, fruits, coffee, and tea. Friendly hosts communicated promptly and waited for my late check-in at 11 pm. Solid wi-fi. The bathrooms were clean. Nothing major, just that fruit basket was empty by the time I got to the breakfast.
- Mihir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Talata (10/5): Excellent location, great staff, gorgeous hostel - Great staff, comfortable bed, easy to meet other travelers. The staff was incredibly flexible even though I made a mistake when booking online and they worked with me to find a solution that would work, and I'm very grateful for it. The views from the rooftop are beautiful, and the whole setup is definitely made by people who know what travelers need and made it happen in a very beautiful setting. Really happy I chose to stay here! Only shared bathrooms were available, which is fine (particularly since they were super clean and often empty) just not my preference.
- Carilyn (10/5): Great value, convenient - Congenial and gracious hosts. Quiet neighborhood, comfortable bed, very clean. Normal continental breakfast. Would stay here again!
