- Phanida (8/5): Convient location - The location of this place was great, right near the ferry and room was spacious. The only downside is that check in was in a different location on Spring Street which is an 8 min walking from this hotel. Therebwas no notice in the lobby which should of disclosed this information. My husband is handicap and it was able to walk there. In addition in the evening our neighboring hotel guest came in at 1 AM and we could hear everything because walls were thin. Otherwise it was a great stay.

- John (10/5): - If you stay here, you are literally at the center of downtown. Clean rooms, friendly staff. You need to check in at 1661 down the road and they will store your bags on arrival/departure day. This is my second time staying here and I would again in the opportunity presented itself. You can’t go wrong at Hendrickson house!

- Elizabeth (10/5): - Location is right in the center of town, so you if you desire to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle, then this place is perfect for you! In town, walkable to many beaches, shopping, dining, etc. Room was very comfortable, spacious, and clean. It can easily accommodate 3 guests. Cons: walls are thin, so you can hear chattering of guests in rooms next to you, so being respectful of the noise level is voiced by the 1661 Inn, and appreciated. Wouldn't recommend for a Family with little kids, as you do need to walk up quite a few levels of stairs, and the stairway is narrow. I believe it would prove to be difficult for a small family with little ones. However, the property was really nice and comfortable, and you can't beat the staff at the 1661 Inn! Very accommodating. We would recommend staying here and would stay again!

No wifi, extremely thin walls (got woken up every morning at 6.30 by next door guests), turnover service never came and by the time we called they were gone for the day. Room isn’t that well stocked. It’s ok but would only stay if I can’t find another place.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our stay at the Hendrickson House with 1661 was perfect-spacious and private. Due to the approaching Hurricane we moved up our flight to leave and the staff credited us and were compassionate and gracious. When the airport closed suddenly, the staff leapt into action and got us swiftly to the last departing ferry and helped see that my children and I were safely boarded. Their cool heads and professional kindness were exemplary and we cannot thank them enough of our gratitude. The 1661 will be our inn of choice on Block island for this, as well as its beauty. Highly recommend!!

Not ideal but with an old building it’s expected to not be incredibly sound proof. That aside it was a clean and charming little room and was perfect for our girls weekend!

- Verified traveler (6/5): - We checked in an hour late and room was not cleaned/not ready, we were told to walk the mile to the main office for a “free $15 breakfast “ for the room not being ready. Besides that, the room was big, bathroom was big, clean, bed comfortable- had to climb 8 flights of stairs to get to the room. The hotel had nothing to offer where we stayed, but plenty of restaurants & shops within walking distance. We stayed a second night at the National Hotel which had free breakfast, a nice restaurant and bar and got a great room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful service and very cozy. - It’s was a great trip. The room was in an annex building but fun and quiet and the food at the main inn that was included is fabulous. Breakfast with mimosas and wine and nibbles 4-5 daily. Wonderful service.
- Tyler (8/5): - The Hendrickson house was conveniently located one block away from the ferry. They upgraded us to a bigger room since it was available. The room was clean and spacious. It is in walking distance to the downtown area with shops, restaurants, bars and Ballards. The check in process is not the easiest. It would be better if they had a remote check in to the house (like a lock box or passcode) since you have to go to a separate location (the 1661 inn) to check in. The 1661 inn is about a 10-12 minute walk from the ferry so walking with bags uphill was not the easiest when the place we had rented was right next to the ferry. They did give us a ride back to the room with our bags but then to check out you have to go back to the 1661 inn.
- Ipakoi (8/5): - It was a nice cheaper alternative to the higher end hotels. The check in and check our process was a pain considering you had to walk a mile each way with luggage. And the reason for booking the location we did was to be close to everything. But it was a nice place
- Caitlin (8/5): Perfect weekend stay - The Hendrickson House was a perfect place to stay for a night or two. It slept 3 people comfortably and our only complaint about the room would be the shower door which was jammed. The location was perfect - a short walk to town and many of the hot spots. The service was amazing! Make sure you introduce yourself to Alec, he was so helpful and friendly. The only thing we regret was not taking advantage of the complimentary breakfast. We hope to stay here again in the future!
- Jennifer (10/5): Great place to stay! - We had a great stay. We loved the balcony and the location. The only thing I would have liked was for Hotels.com to explain the check-in process. You have to check-in at 1661 Inn, and not the address of the room. We would definitely stay there again. The owner, staff, and accomations were awesome.
- Richard (10/5): 8/23-8/24 Stay- Almeida Family - Rita and her entire staff our wonderful, especially Alec who helped us with our luggage and transportation. He was so nice and willing to help. The breakfast was delicious and room extremely clean.

- PeterNakano (4/5): - The staff and service were great, however, the room’s air conditioner never worked the entire four night of our stay. We complained daily with first staff and finally a maintenance guy out to look at it, but the could not fix. An otherwise awesome 4th of July experience was dampened by that.
