Like other reviews at the time of our stay (april 2026) there is construction work next door, this is no fault of the hotel and did not affect our stay or rating of the hotel. In fact, the manager gave us ear plugs (which we didnt need to use) and the work was finished for the day by 4.30pm and we didnt hear it before we left at around 8am. The only negative was that the toilet seal was broken so there was always water on the floor, I would just recommend this is checked and fixed by the hotel.

The hotel was comfortable, well-priced, and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. A special mention goes to Jack Son, who was absolutely amazing in helping organise my trip. He arranged my overnight bus to Sapa, assisted with my flights, and even organised my Grab car to the airport, making everything smooth and stress-free. His kindness, communication, and attention to detail really made a difference and helped me feel comfortable in every aspect of my travels. The location is also excellent for exploring Hanoi’s Old Quarter, with plenty of food, shops, and attractions nearby. I truly appreciated the hospitality and support during my stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi.

• NANAMI (10/5): 親切丁寧 - スタッフの方々の対応が親切で丁寧でした。予約するとWhatsAppを通じてスタッフの方から連絡がきます。空港からの送迎もそちらでスムーズにやりとりできました。 ペットボトルのお水が3本ほど冷蔵庫で冷えていて、常温のものもセットされていたので1週間の滞在でお水を外で買う必要はなかったです。ドライヤーがありWi-Fiも繋がりがよく設備は良かったです。トイレットペーパーやシャンプー、アメニティもありました。 周りにBarが多くあり夜遅くまで賑やかですが、こちらのホテルまでは聞こえてきません。 シーツの肌触りがすこし柔らかいというかしっとり？(濡れてるわけではない)していたので気になる人は気になるかも。隣が工事中(投稿時点)とのことで朝8時ぐらいから音がしますが、日中外に出るのであれば全く問題ないです。

Absolutely tiny, filthy, there were bugs everywhere. No nice cushions or amenities as pictured. Bathroom had mould and bugs. shower was cold. Every plug socket released sparks when trying to plug my phone in so it was not safe to charge my phone. No WiFi or phone service. Electrical wires were badly taped/ exposed. Got woken at 5am by staff making breakfast and clattering pans. Felt very unsafe here as a solo female traveller with no access to my phone or even ability to charge it. Slept for about 1 hour and ended up cancelling my trip and flying home 3 days earlier.

Even if it states that the hotel has windows, these are useless as they’re closed by a wall against it, so it’s like they don’t have any windows. Due to the lack of fresh air, the room was quite mouldy. The water pressure in the shower is very poor. Overall not the best stay, but if you’re not planning to spend much time in the hotel, it’s ok as the location is very central.

Il y avait deux fenêtres dans ma chambre qui sont complètement condamné par des plaques en ferraille. On peut ouvrir les fenêtres, mais on a donc accès sur une plaque en fer. J’ai donc demandé à changer de chambre, mais la chambre suivante était également identique. Les 2 chambres que j’ai pu voir ont besoin d’un gros coup de rénovation

Made me feel like I was in a familiar place from the very beginning. That is what I like the most about my stay. Also the position is crazy good: you are right next to Beer Street but not in it, so you don’t hear the noise of the partying The room was nice, small but big enough for 1 person. Perhaps the breakfast isn’t top quality but no big deal.

• Malcolm (10/5): A great base to explore Hanoi! - We have stayed at the Golden Sail two times. We returned because the facility is very good, the location is great and the staff are fantastic. Everything was very good.
• Isabella (7/5): - Excellent location and the staff were amazing I didn’t realise when booking deluxe double meant two beds instead of one. So little room to move around
