Guest Reviews
- wokke (8/5): Prima verblijf.

- Caroline (7/5): Fantastic value for money - Fantastic value for money, room very modern and clean, bottled water and tea/coffee in the room Breakfast wasn't great but to be honest, for the price we can't complain at all. It wasn't horrible, just ok.
Pillows and bed not that comfy but again, for the price we can't complain

- Jacqueline (9/5): Another great weekend - This was our 4th Easter weekend and as usual the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our evening meal was tasty and filling, with an excellent cheeseboard. As we needed to be at a local competition early on the Sunday, they once again happily let us pre order the cooked breakfast the night before, and allowed us in just before 9 to start with the continental breakfast. Not really a dislike, but found the room a little warm and the fan wasn't usable.
- Julie (9/5): - Friendly team…nothing was too much trouble. They allowed us all into our rooms by 11.30 which was so perfect as we had to change and drop off our stuff before a 1pm wedding nearby.
Clean rooms.
Good breakfast. Small details:
Pillows a bit lumpy.
Full length mirror would have been useful.
A bit of fruit and yogurt at breakfast for those not having cooked options.
- Karen (10/5): Comfortable stay - Comfortable well equipped room. Breakfast service was very slow, but nice when received.
- Lorraine (10/5): - Room spacious and clean Breakfast
- Paul (7/5): Room & facilities, well decorated, clean and in good order, food was average at best - My breakfast (full english) was hot, my wife's breakfast (eggs royale) was only luke warm and could have been hotter Evening meal in the restaurant was no better than average
- John (10/5): -

- Andrew (7/5): Nice - The room and facilities were very clean, bright and tidy. Location was great too, good breakfast included too with lots of options Due to a singer in the pub downstairs it was very loud in the room till around 11.30pm, but once that had finished was very quiet
- Molly (9/5): Faye and Zoe were delightful hostesses. The food was ample - Comfortable. Clean. Spacious with a private Bathroom/ Bath & Shower All the stairs!
- Robert (9/5): Would definitely recommend - Friendly welcome, lovely food, excellent value for money. Nothing to dislike
- Paul (8/5): - Nice traditional pub with good food friendly staff
- Kirsty (9/5): -
- Marc (10/5): Everything was brilliant, would definitely recommend and will be staying again in the future - Lovely old fashioned pub
- Susan (3/5): Avoid - The location as visiting someone in the village. It's an expensive pub/eatery. Single gin £5.30, no mixer.. bar staff did not give a welcome you expect with a B&B.
On entry to the rooms, first climb 13 steep stepped staircase. Then a few more. We had a twin room which had 3 foot wide 'children's size beds. Unless you are under 5.6" height and thin, avoid. The ceilings are low presumably due to refit. The bathroom good, new but the sink could not be emptied and the brrakfast staff said it would be fixed as soon as housekeeping came in, due now, but was not..Could not brush teeth! Staff too busy chatting over coffee at the bar. The breakfast was from 9am. Far too late for many. 2 plastic bags of bread to toast, (hygiene) a table laid with usual cereals and spreads. Make your own tea. Coffee good but only one jug at a time which was quickly emptied and new needed making. The cooked food was a good standard menu. After 10 minutes our order was taken and after 40 minutes it arrived. So nearly 10.am by time we ate as not a cereal lover. The end of October is out of season and there is nothing special about the village except beaches a few miles away.£114 for a Friday nights stay. We were desperate. We paid. But, Avoid if you can. Apparently The Bell is better but £130. Unless you have no choice, stay in other prettier, realistically priced villages. And myy advice if you have stairs difficulties or breathing problems or over 5'6" check with accommodation first. This venue is not good.
- Laura (5/5): Just ok that’s it which is a shame - Location Breakfast so slow. Excuse being freshly cooked to order but no where else is like this ! Rooms are looking very tired now. Need re freshening. Pillows are dreadful. Mattresses need toppers. One staff member moaned when I mentioned state of pillows !
There are no extras at this B & B. Very basic.

- shirley (9/5): - How helpful the staff were we had to be towed home as car broke down and the staff were so helpful and understanding especially dillon from the kitchen such a wonderful young man. Shortage of cereals ran out of basic cornflakes
- Kev51 (7/5): -
- Paul (7/5): Been before and no issues. However, our double room was a twin and breakfast delay. - breakfast Booked and requested a double room which was confirmed and when we arrived, it was a twin but too late to change or book elsewhere. Also breakfast order took 30 minutes. Coffee machine and toaster not working but coffee brought from the machine in the bar and another toaster was found.
- David (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Great staff - Faye was awesome
- andy (8/5): - Very friendly helpful staff who arranged early key collection. Room was very clean The room was quite small compared to the one we had last year and was VERY hot even with the fan going all night
- Ronald (8/5): Very pleasant stay relaxing and enjoyable - Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Lovely meal and surroundings. Maybe a slightly larger room.
- Ian (9/5): - We stayed here for a couple of nights to attend a wedding nearby. The rooms were comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. We ate in the pub on Friday night and the food was great, and the breakfasts the next day were also brilliant. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. Will definitely stay again! Nothing.
- Smith (10/5): Very pleasant stay, friendly staff, will happily return. - Excellent We had to wait for our evening meal even though we had booked due to people walking in without booking!
- Howard Bugg (8/5): Nice room - Friendly staff, clean comfortable room , good food 9am breakfast was a little late for us!
- R (9/5): -
- Margaret (8/5): - Ideally placed near to Frinton on Sea. The room and bathroom are very good. Mattress could do with replacing on both beds. Breakfast is really good, pleasant staff. We were visiting family and didn't return until around 10 pm,hoping we could have a nightcap prior to retiring to our room, only managed the one night as bar appears to shut early. Apart from that,we did enjoy our stay. Beds are really in need of new mattresses. It would have been nice if we could of had a 10pm nightcap. I do understand staff have to go home ,maybe if we had asked prior to going out ,if we could have ordered beforehand. Not to worry.

- Christine (8/5): Very relaxing and comfortable overall - Cooked breakfast was very good with several choices, also 3 Cereals to choose from. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, we were able to check in early as we had a wedding to go to. Nothing bad to comment on

- Helen (7/5): Comfortable stay! Friendly staff! - Room was comfortable and clean - although basic.
Breakfast was good. Scrambled eggs on toast cooked fresh and generous portions. Chef attended to our breakfast quickly as we had to check out early. We weren’t aware beforehand that breakfast didn’t start until 9.00am (maybe we had missed reading that when we booked?)
Uitstekende douche.
