- YU TING (9/5): 整體舒適。 - 房間風景很棒，飯店自助早餐種類多元，精緻好吃。 浴室洗手台區域的面紙沒抽幾張就沒了，可能一開始就沒補滿，要拿房間的很不方便。 健身房區區域進入女更衣室不用密碼鎖或是有人管理，可以隨意進出，萬一被男性或其他閒雜人等誤闖入，女更衣室的安全有疑慮。
- James (10/5): A fantastic option for a visit for Taipei! - The Renaissance Taipei Shihlin Hotel is exceptional. Of particular note - the staff who were incredible, and we loved the design of the hotel and services available. Our room was very comfortable, and we had a wonderful stay.

- Felix (8/5): Luxury Hotel with a calm rooftop pool - Very nice and helpful staff, good breakfast, very clean and luxurious room, very nice pool. Although the rooftop pool ist incredible, they could do much more out of it, the lounge chairs are super cheap plastic without a matresstopper. There’s no bar service and sometimes there are towels sometimes not. Nothing really a letdown but the pool area should be a bit more luxurious.

- Aminah (9/5): Superschöner Urlaub - Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und vielfältig. Dee Park liegt direkt daneben. Das Hotel ist nicht weit von der MRT-Station und vom Shilin Nachtmarkt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Aussicht von den Zimmern ist leider direkt auf das nächste Gebäude. Der Pool schließt leider von 12-14 Uhr, wegen Reinigung. Wäre besser, wenn man das früh morgens oder abends machen könnte. Die Übernachtungspreise sind extrem hoch.

Extremely safe to get around, therevwere plenty of maybach and Rolls-Royces in the valet while we were there. Crossing the street does require your utmost attention so make sure you watch a few instructional videos before you get there! The scooters are incredibly prevalent

Close to shopping but I don’t have a chance to visit. Traffic is always a disaster if driving in Taiwan…..which has nothing to do with the hotel. Staff are professional. Will definitely stay again if in Taipei

- Mei (6/5): Chinese restaurant is unacceptable - The room was nice. The bed is comfortable The Chinese restaurant We have booked a room with two tables to host a family reunion. The menu was a set menu. First of all, the service was unacceptable. A hotel restaurant told the guest to leave when is only 9pm saying that they are going to close. Also part of the reason was the fish dish were bring in very late. When are book and paid for the table, it was almost like 30000 NT, they should mentioned that the restaurant will be close at 9pm Also if they are so strict about their closing schedule they should be also prompt on bring out the dish with consistency. Instead we are waiting for the fish for a very long time. Also, at 8:57 the waitress told all of us including all of our guests that the restaurant is going to close at 9pm. It was very rude and embarrassed in front of all of our guests. What kind of service is that?? One of our guess bring a small child he is only 8 years old when the dessert is served we ask the waitress to give the small child extra jello and the waitress said they can only provide 10 as the menu is only for ten people. I was shocked to hear what she said. Is ok not to give but what kind is service that. Also. we can easily pay for it but the service people humiliated us again in front of our guests The waitress don’t change plates until we ask them to do so. Ten guests per table and is serving different dishes in a Hotel Banquet room not changing plates???we are not eating street food. I am very disappointed and would not recommend the restaurant to anyone

- bjamisonf (10/5): Great location near Shilin Metro and Market - We stayed for five nights at the Renaissance Shilin. The room was functional but unremarkable—rather small, with a direct view into an apartment complex. The pillows were particularly uncomfortable; although they were oversized, they became completely flat when used. However, we appreciated that housekeeping kept the room spotless. The hotel’s location is excellent, just a short walk from the metro and Shilin Night Market. We enjoyed exploring the nearby neighborhoods and trying the many local food options, which were a highlight of our stay. The staff in the executive lounge—Jesse, James, and Andy—were the best part of our experience. They were friendly, professional, and consistently welcoming. The newly hired manager, Kenny, was also friendly; however, he was unable to assist us when we complained about our view. Unfortunately, the food in the executive lounge was the low point of our stay. It was repetitive and uninspired, featuring the same bland onion soup four nights in a row, stale pastries, and vegetables (primarily cabbage) recycled from breakfast. While quantity is essential, quality matters too; with a bit more attention, the food could have been much better. Fortunately, since there were so many nearby dining options, we didn't feel compelled to eat at the lounge anyway. Thankfully, the drink selection was generous and helped alleviate our disappointment. In summary, the hotel is well-located and has a great team, but it is let down by food quality and room comfort.

- David (10/5): Fantastic hotel - This hotel was fantastic. From the moment we arrived to checkout, they catered to our every need. Breakfast was fantastic. Room was immaculate.
- afinetraveler (8/5): expensive but not enjoyable - This hotel should be a 5 star experience, but unfortunately there are some things about the property that really need improvement. On the plus side, our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and elegant. The hotel staff were polite, and there was a gym on the 10th floor. The hotel was located near a subway stop, and it was also walking distance to the Shilin night market and the Chiang Kai Shek residence and gardens. Thus it was a bit out of the way from many sightseeing spots & walking tours, but it was quiet. Our rate included the breakfast buffet, and we had the dinner buffet one night. For those partial to a Western diet, both meals were unsatisfying. The buffets are full of many items, but not very tasty. For example, eggs should be warm, cereal should include some sort of granola or fiber rich option, and oatmeal should thick. Also, the room TV should provide access to streaming services. We’ve stayed out 5 different properties during our 2 week stay in Taiwan. The Renaissance was the most expensive and least enjoyable.

- Ben (4/5): - One free breakfast for a 15 day stay. didn’t know marriot bonvoy member (I partially blame myself and Expedia). Cleaning people come at 11 and then it’s on you to get them back. Ridiculous. It’s called making a second round and checking the light. I was almost out by noon. Good 1 free breakfast. Friendly staff especially the guy out front tall short white hair, there’s construction and that’s fine but annoying until it’s done because there’s likely a shorter pathway to the subway stop when buildings are complete (blooming area). There’s good and bad. But I was more tired at end of this than in the beginning even with jet lag. Woken up by annoying house cleaners. Always outside my door seemingly. I wrote them a note to come at 18:00 and clean and not accommodated. And I absolutely can’t stand 11am checkout times especially in the middle of the week and I didn’t even stay my first day but had to get a room booked because the flight gets in at 6am and check in is not even early at 4pm!!! Not Las Vegas where cleaner need to clean up puke and this and that. It’s a weekday in Taipei. Even in Vegas it’s a 4 hour turnaround. How do you need 5 hours?

- Apecalvin (6/5): Bonvoy Elites receive better treatment at either of the Courtyards here… - Renaissance Shihlin is a lovely hotel. From the public areas to the room, everything feels premium. The rooftop pool deck is a very nice place to relax. The wood and bamboo motif lend a resort feel to the property. Staff is generally polite and professional, if a tad cold. Martina from the Club Lounge stood out for being exceptionally kind and attentive. The Club Lounge itself is really small, with 4 warm food options for evening cocktails, and it wasn’t busy the night I was there. However, the hotel has too many flaws. Shihlin MRT is a 10-minute walk away, and requires crossing a very busy intersection. While the Shihlin area offers a number of interesting local food outlets, these are in the immediate vicinity of the MRT station. Rooms are tiny, and half them look right into the condo block, and the other half overlook the hill (being Platinum, I was fortunately upgraded to one of these). The gym is tiny and miserable, with only a few cardio machines, a cable trainer, and a rack of dumbbells. By far the biggest disappointment of this stay was how Elite members are restricted to only the lounge for breakfast. In other hotels with a similar arrangement, the lounge breakfast was often substantial. The hot food was unappetising and dry at 9am. This was officially the worst Bonvoy breakfast in recent memory. Taipei has no shortage of three- and four-star local hotels, some of which include breakfast in their rates, and any of these will offer a better breakfast experience than what I received here. All said, I would not return to Renaissance Shihlin, not until they learn the art of hospitality.

- 283mikeq (2/5): Awful - Worst experience ever in a Marriot / Renaissance Hotel in 10 years as Platinum. Unfriendly and inflexible by most staff and the management - Lounge - is the worst I have been to with more limited food options and they only told me on arrival no kids allowed. They were uninterested in help with vegetarian dietary requirements (except once) and every day was the same long tiring discussion about breakfast options and meals. They won’t let you have breakfast in the breakfast restaurant as option like all other hotels - do for Platinum… After much back and forth - exhausting when your trying to enjoy a trip I was told only the kids can eat downstairs because they are not allowed in the lounge…..and I missed breakfast twice as a result…..(because kids are too young to eat alone)…..Interesting I tried to talk to the manager over the full 6 days and he was never available. I had a number of other issues but no point going on about that….I just won’t go back….
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful hotel room close to MTR - We stayed 2 nights. The room was large and comfortable with a fabulous bathroom (separate tub and shower). Nice comfy robes were provided. We had a busy itinerary so unfortunately didn't get a chance to use any of the amenities. We'd stay here again.

- Fran (10/5): - Lovely room--not big, but not cramped--with every comfort and amenity. Gorgeous view of the lush, green mountain at the edge of the city. A bit far from downtown, but just a five minute walk to the busy, pleasant shopping and eatery area around Shilin Metro Station. My only complaint was that the lobby, though beautiful, has very little hang-out and seating area for guests, outside of the pricey bar and restaurants.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing stay - Arrived around 1:30 pm, checked in then told couldn’t have room until 4 pm which we found unacceptable. We were told they would email us when room was ready so we went out, actually received email at 19:24. Room was supposed to be a king double but it had a settee/child’s single bed in it which really didn’t fit making the room too compact
- kkken1113 (4/5): Plat no more brekkie at shihlin kitchen. You just lost me. - I used to stay here many many times but will no longer stay here. A very short sighted decision by the hotel to no longer accord breakfast at hotel restaurant to plat members. Plats can now only go to the lounge which has a very small limited and very repetitive menu. Service is still very good but breakfast is very impt to me and this hotel just lost me. I will choose another hotel that accords proper complimentary full breakfast experience to plats.

Wonderful service from all the staff. Will surely visit again. Good place to organise conferences and business meetings

- Excursion36482634460 (2/5): Great hotel with poor management - The location is good and quiet, the infrastructure is perfect and almost new. I stayed in this hotel several times a few years ago but it has changed a lot and the service is very poor! Super lazy management team. Everyone should pay attention to the hotel's charges. I don't think it is intentional, but the management is very chaotic. The turnover pool is open on a limited basis. Not worth staying in this hotel

- tangytravels (10/5): Perfect stay, great location, beautiful views - I highly recommend, great service, clean, 10-15 min walking distance from the metro, very quiet and peaceful. Great views from the rooftop. When we went the pool wasn't open, but you can still go up their and take photos. It's right next to the Chiang Kai-Shek Shilin Residence, you can see it from your room - which is free to enter and walk around the park areas. They also provide complimentary water which you can ask for more if you need it. We tried the Wan Li restaurant - it's beautiful decor, great service, but food was only okay. Room service was also only okay - but it hit the spot getting some American food.

- Pei (7/5): Despite not the best of the breakfast quality, was still a pretty pleasant stay - - Room was clean and comfy. Staffs were friendly and pretty helpful and timely (when we said the shower temperature was very unstable they sent ppl to come up to check for us immediately). - They compensated us a box of sweets for the shower issue we experienced the day before, which was pretty nice. I was a bit let down with the breakfast though. I stayed with Renaissance Taipei before the pandemic which was a few years ago, i remember it was much better. Food wasn't very fresh (for exmaple the smoked salmon) Egg dishes was pretty perfunctory (the egg benedict was almost unflavoured??) Porridge was cold, not hot and not even warm.
