Guest Reviews

- Hayley (7/5): Great location but a bit pricey for what it is - Amazing location and staff were very kind and helpful. Beautiful grounds. Free breakfast. AC worked great. Small rooms with bathrooms that were not completely enclosed and did not have direct exhaust vented to them. This took away from the romance of the stay. Lighting was a bit dim so if needing to do makeup etc. it was a little difficult. The room cost was expensive compared to other places in the area and I’m not sure the quality of the rooms justified the price.

- Patti (10/5): You will be pampered at this beautiful old boutique hotel!! - The staff were amazing, friendly and so attentive. It was the icing on the top. It’s a lovely little boutique hotel with a beautiful very large garden that was a perfect oasis after a busy day. Pool is more decorative than functional- we didn’t see anyone swim. Lovely Yucatan tiles adorn the floors. Quieter street among the bustling little village. Very narrow and steep stairs to second floor might be difficult for some. We were fine.
- Deborah (8/5): -
- Delphine (1/5): Don’t book this place! - Breakfast Pricing not aligned to price agreed on Booking. Room not cleaned. No water.
- Marta (10/5): Little paradise in the middle of town - Beautiful place! Very charming and peaceful, dream garden and perfect location
- Giulia (9/5): -
- Allison (10/5): A gem!! - This tiny hotel is a gem! Absolutely beautiful and in a wonderful spot. The gardens go on forever and the breakfast was absolutely superb. Lovely staff, lovely room. We loved our stay! See above
- George S (10/5): - Location on a very charming street.

My favourite bit is the garden and the alberca. Breakfast is also very good. Worth a visit! Nothing that I did not like.

- Valerie (8/5): Charming - Lovely room ,good breakfast.Beautiful gardens .The overall feel of tranquility. A couple of times noise from outside visitors that are allowed in the garden /pool area .
- nicoletta (10/5): - Staff super gentile e accogliente, struttura super curata e ambiente familiare Nulla
- Jeri (10/5): - Verde Morada Hotel is a beautiful, quiet hotel near the main sites of historic Valladolid. The lovely outdoor space and traditional interiors made my visit most memorable. The staff were kind, friendly, cheerful and helpful. I loved everything about my visit!
- Christian (10/5): - Incredible inner yard with amazing vegitation and an inviting pool.
Super friendly and polite staff.
Great, spacious and beautifully decorated room.
Perfect location in Valladolid
- Michaela (10/5): What an oasis! People are kimd every where you go. I wish we stayed longer than just 2 nights. I can’t wait to go back o - Incredibly peaceful oasis in such a beautiful town of Valladolid. I am glad we got to stay a few days for delicious food, drinks and so close to great restaurants, parks and even walking distance to the local cenote. Both temples are within an hour of driving and so are many more cenotes.
Room was very clean and bed super comfortable. We tried a lot on the cafe’s menu and we couldn’t stop ordering. Fresh fruit and tasty lunch menu. Everyone is very kind and would break their back to meet any needs.
Parking was easy on the street and/or in the backyard. It can get a little loud in the morning if you’re staying in the garden room, the cafe opens early so you hear chatter and dishes as they prepare for breakfast. But the view and access to the garden is so worth losing a bit of privacy.
- Claudine (10/5): - Property was beautiful, the parking was easily accessible and enjoyed walking through the grounds to get to the hotel.
- Zsolt (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (8/5): - Nice property with helpful staff.
Fairly clean overall but could be cleaner.
Noisy at night if you are a front room.
- Shay (6/5): Pleasant - Her in the bathroom. They have only two places to see besides the swimming for.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay. The location is just perfect and the breakfast was great! Highly recommended.
- Tim (8/5): Nicely located boutique hotel - Great location right on might street, included breakfast ,nice fruit selection.car parking is at the back of property .lovely garden and nice old building . Fridge in room. Nice old town to wander around with nice restaurant The food was limited to cafe style, it was very unclear what exactly was included in your breakfast. The pool much to small to swim in, Mosquitos bad here., the room was noisy from the garden
- Agnese (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Location, very comfortable - Perfect place for my short stay - the street the hotel i on is perfect for strolling, for accessing central plaza and cathedral and the garden in back is beautiful for breakfast or a cold drink.
- Marco (9/5): Central, relaxing and well-designed hotel. - The room was very nice and with attention to details. We liked the fact that there was no use of plastics but glass instead. The garden was very well kept and silent for perfect relaxation. Insulation from external noise can be improved
- Judith (8/5): Wonderful, as always. - This was our second stay at Verde Morada. It’s such an unusual and charming place, a former home with classic Yucatán concrete floor tiles. With only three rooms, it feels very private. The garden and pool is to die for! The breakfast each morning was very nice. Are only negative was the noise on the street on a Saturday night. One of us was awakened numerous times by loud cars racing down the street and people leaving a nearby bar. On Sunday night, it was quiet. 😇
- LAURA DE (8/5): - Hotel molto carino. Personale accogliente.
- Tom (10/5): - Amazing stay
- Robert (10/5): - Only three rooms. Extensive and beautiful grounds.
- Jakob (10/5): Very nice!
- Peter (10/5): - Very well located hotel close to restaurants and main square.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - The garden and pool were very nice. It provided a place relax during the, as well as for breakfast. We had a small problem with our room, but the hotel made sure they were fixed and offered a discount to compensate us for the issue.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meaghan (8/5): Very good - Verde Morada is a lovely boutique hotel! We loved the back garden. Room was comfortable. Staff were very friendly. The one downside is the room that we were in, facing onto the street, had a string of lights tied right outside it. This made it super bright in the room all night and even with the black out curtains it impacted our sleep. Would be great if they could provide some sort of block to put in the window to block the light further.
- Alisha (8/5): Very good -
- FRANKIE J (10/5): - Lovely pool and grounds and in a great location.
- Nancy (10/5): Amazing - Liked everything especially the wonderful staff Can't think of 1 thing
- KATHLEEN (4/5): - We arrived before check in. We left our luggage and waited to come back until the assigned hour. They showed us to the room and gave us a bottle of wine which was a nice surprise. We were taking a nap and the staff woke us up, told us we were in the wrong room and asked us to gather our things and move upstairs. They took back the bottle of wine they gave us and said it was a mistake. The hotel is pretty but the experience after check in was unpleasant.
- Hannah (10/5): - Such a cute little hotel in a really good location, easy to get to shops and restaurants. Nice breakfast in the morning too!
- FRANKIE J (10/5): - A very charming boutique property in a fantastic location.
- Susan (6/5): not as advertised - comfortable bed was given room on noisy street rather than reserved garden room. bathroom door dragged on floor needing force to move it. airconditioner blew directly onto the pillow. wifi barely worked just enough to download email but little else.
- Kornelius (9/5): Superb - We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Verde Morada in Valladolid! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a charming, well-maintained old building, very clean, with a beautiful park. It also offers convenient parking. The location is perfect, right on the sweetest street in Valladolid. We’re so happy with our experience here!
- Miriam (9/5): Great stay overall and would come again. - Really lovely boutique hotel. So much character.
Our room was as per the photos online and was spotlessly clean.
The outside space was lovely also but bring the bug spray for the evenings :)
There is a small cafe attached that does excellent food. Breakfast was from here and was super.
Location was excellent.
Highly recommend I did think the hotel was a bit expensive.
- Jordan (10/5): Verde Morada - the perfect stay in Valladolid! - Verde Morada was an exceptional place to stay in Valladolid. It was so peaceful that I often forgot I was in the city. The room was stunning, had more than enough amenities and did not leave us wanting. Access to the garden and pool was an added benefit, allowing us to relax, eat, drink, swim and even bird watch in a tranquil setting. The hotel is located on Calzada de los Frailes, which made dining out, shopping, walking and meeting with friends and locals so easy. The hotel staff was kind, thoughtful and very helpful whenever we asked questions, I am so grateful for them!
If you are thinking of staying here, do it! It's a unique, beautiful and very special place in Valladolid.
- ingrid (8/5): - Quiet, peaceful, good air conditioning, excellent staff, perfect central location, safe, and they had vegan waffles and soy and almond milk. Sadly, the beans contained pork fat. If they had been clean, everyone could eat them. The thought of it made us feel sick. The only problem and easily fixed! Thank you.
- Mark (10/5): - We loved this place. The front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming. The lodging's on a lovely street with easy access to a host of beautiful shops and local sites of interest, it has clean comfortable rooms, great breakfasts and good coffee -- and an amazing garden with a small pool in the back that truly is remarkable to escape to. One of our favorite places on our 28-day trip.
- Stephen (9/5): Really pleasant - Very nice small hotel ( 3 rooms!) with a wonderful garden oasis ! was slightly noisy but the street outside is one of the quietest
- Evren (9/5): Superb - Location was great. Friendly personnel. Nice garden.
- Caroline (8/5): Very good -
- Nadia (9/5): Superb -
- Gabrielle (10/5): - Lovely!!
- Serena (10/5): The place to be in Valladolid - - position
- charming garden
- excellent included breakfast
- private parking
- nice and clean room
- friendly staff /
- Susan (10/5): Classic Mexican home converted to bed n breakfast - Excellent location. Beautiful garden . Delicious breakfast. Attentive staff.
- Nadia (9/5): Gorgeous boutique hotel in wonderful location. - Fabulous location on the best street, close to many restaurants bars and shops. Lovely boutique feeling with gorgeous garden. Wifi terrible. Staff need some training in guest services.
- Jose (10/5): - Beautiful and charming hotel, although from our room we can hear when people were passing by, I still enjoyed, I will definitely go back again!
- Marilyn (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was wonderful. Their coffee shop has exceptional coffee, food and best of all amazing service. The gardens in the back are serene with a meandering trail. Location couldn't have been better. Lovely town, lovely hotel. HIGHLY recommend.
- James (8/5): Very good - The staff were helpful and used Google Translate when needed. They were able to arrange laundry and a taxi to the Tren Maya station.
It was great that we could take breakfast and coffee to go before going on a tour. Just give yourself a bit of time as it was usually a few minutes late. There was some mould in the bathroom and around the AC unit. There was some noise from the busy walking street outside, through it never lasted very late at night.
Overall it was a good stay but felt a little overpriced.
- Holly (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (2/5): - Check in was horrible! No one was at desk waited 5 min and they were in kitchen chatting! The hotel had sent us a discount code and the guy at check in would not let us use it. They provide free smoothies and said they would bring them to us in our room in 5-10 minutes. 25 minutes later we had to go ask for them and then they we t and made them. The guy at the desk didn’t know how to tell us where to park our car! Basically a horrible experience and will not stay here again!!!
- Ishani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jasmine (10/5): - Located on a lovely quiet street, but within easy walking distance to the centre. Staff were lovely and even accommodated an excellent rushed breakfast for us one morning before catching our tour. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- Rebecca (8/5): - The building and gardens of this hotel are absolutely beautiful, particularly the latter which stretches back the whole block and is full of lovely plants and paths and has the swimming pool-really a plunge pool as it’s small.
The staff are really very lovely and helpful, the breakfast was great and had lots of options a la carte, and was outside in the wonderful garden.
I had a suite, which was fine for me as I was by myself, but might’ve been a bit tight for two people, as the room is not massive and storage-wise there is only a wardrobe (which has the safe and the fridge in it too). I had to put stuff on top of the wardrobe because I ran out of space inside it. The suite itself nicely furnished and full of character.
Also there are only three rooms I gather, and they are all right next to reception-or mine was anyway-and so at times early in the morning I could hear people chattering while they were making breakfast at just after 6 am. Perhaps something to bear in mind for staff in future…
- Sebastian (10/5): An amazing small hotel beautifully presented in the heart of Valladolid. One of the best places I have been lately. I hi - Everything was excellent, from the location to the facilities, the food and the staff. We had a great time at Morada Verde. The property is a small boutique hotel located in Calle del Fraile, probably one of the most beautiful streets in Valladolid with loads of cafes, restaurants and shops.
Morada Verde is a very small place with only three rooms. An old house tastefully decorated and the best secret is the alberca in the garden. An excellent place to chill out and get away from the city and relax in the garden a the spa and alberca.
The staff made our stay really pleasant, all of them were very kind and helpful. A special mention to Suemi. Se was so helpful from the minute we walked into the property, she helped us arranging tours, taxi, breakfast, laundry service. Anything we needed she went above and beyond to help. Thank you Suemi! Nothing negative to say. Everything was great.
- tina (10/5): - My favorite tiny hotel in valladolid. The garden is magical. And the staff are lovely.
- Robert (8/5): Friendly staff, property well located. - Friendly helpful staff despite language barrier. Believe high season price during low season. Attracted by reviews and photographs…narrow stairway to upper rooms. Taxi charges to Maya Express station 30% more than charge for Maya sponsored taxi from station to hotel. Usually other way around.
- Ian (8/5): Great location and a good option for Valladolid - The location could not have been better. Directly on the best street in town with easy access to everything. The garden was lovely and a great place to relax. Our room was great open to the garden but it was a bit public entering into the hallway. The pool was less inviting than it looked in the pictures so we didn’t use it. Staff were a little unconfident and there was a bit of a language barrier. Service at breakfast felt a little erratic and slow, frustrating when we were keen to get away early.
- Jorge (9/5): Superb -
- Hugo (8/5): Very good - The style, the location, the calm, the garden The wifi
- Luis (10/5): - Very nice place, boutique type of hotel and the staff very friendly
- Rachel (8/5): Very lovely small hotel - The property is beautiful and the service was amazing. The front desk girls were so nice and the server at the breakfast terrace as well. The rooms need a little bit of maintenance a bit of water leaking on the window, the lighting in the bathroom also need some fix and the ceiling had some water marks , but nothing that cannot be fix.
Overall the place is very well located on beautiful street very quiet and safe. Breakfast was good. Plenty of parking on the back entrance.
- Angela (10/5): Stunning historic house in the best location - This gorgeous historic home on the best street in Valladolid has only three rooms. We stayed in the ground floor room overlooking the lovely garden and pool.
It is an intimate space beautifully and simply furnished with antiques and the original tiles are stunning.
Best coffee I have had in Mexico (better than any I could find in Mexico City), great breakfast and very helpful and friendly front desk staff.
All in all, made for a perfect and very special stay. There was nothing I didn’t like.
- Ahmad (10/5): Exceptional - Everything with all details Nothing
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luis (10/5): - A very nice boutique hotel, with excellent location with lots of restaurant options in the area!
- Merrill (10/5): Oasis on the nicest street in town - Excellent small hotel. Friendliest helpful staff. Great breakfast! Lots of dinning options near by. Easy walk to the main square. Highly recommend the room right behind reception with courtyard view.
- Reinhard (10/5): Small oasis of calm in best location - Perfect small boutique hotel in the best street in town, perfectly located between all the main attractions and close to many beautiful restaurants and shops. Service was very attentive and charming. And the beautiful and well cared for garden create an oasis of calm.
- Anderson (8/5): Very good - Location
Quaintness
Freak breakfast options
Reasonable coffee No hot water
A lot of mosquitos in the garden where you have breakfast
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristin (7/5): Lovely night in boutique hotel - Great location, quaint / pretty building and grounds, very courteous staff, nice breakfast, quiet adults-only. Our room was spacious and pretty but it faced the street and was incredibly noisy due to a constant stream of motorbikes and cars and trucks. The windows are not double-paved so it sounded like the windows were open which made it very hard to sleep. I would get an inner /courtyard-facing room if available.
- Mm (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sommers (9/5): Magical - Amazing little boutique hotel, situated on the best street in Valladolid. You step off the street back in time to a calm oasis. There is also a beautiful large garden to have a relaxing breakfast.
- Tina (10/5): Cute boutique hotel in the perfect local in charming Valladolid. - I love this little boutique hotel. Small, quaint, beautiful grounds and lovely staff. And it has perfect location on Calle de los Fralies. Also includes a really nice breakfast. Only place I stay in Valladolid.
- Sergio (10/5): Un lugar espectacular para descansar y relajarse! - Maravilloso jardín
- Alexander (10/5): - I love this hotel! yhe coffee was great and property was beautiful
- James (10/5): - Street where the hotel is one of the nicest in the center of Valladolid, great location - quiet, plenty of restaurants and other shops, partially closed to traffic in the evenings. Garden was peaceful with the occasional waft of fragrance from the perfumery next door. Breakfast served in the garden was excellent - and service from Daniel was great. I think there are only 3 rooms so guests get friendly, personal service from all of the staff.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful Colonial house with lovely garden. The breakfast served in the garden was great, although it wasn't really explained how it works - you seem to be offered juice, coffee, pan dulces and fruit salad, but also given a menu from which you seem able to order anything from at no extra charge. The room was beautiful with antique furniture and a well lit, large bathroom. Location couldn't be better - on the Calle de los friars. Finally, I had an issue with an ADO bus booking and the lady on reception was so helpful as I tried to sort it out. Nada
- Justin (7/5): Lovely building and garden, a little rough around the edges on the details. - A beautiful Spanish colonial building on a nice street with lots of other restaurants. Nice garden. Love the architectural details around the building and in the garden. The water was very spotty. It was out more than it was on. Perhaps it was just the day, I don’t know. We have stayed many other place in Mexico and understand this happens sometimes (water, electricity, etc), but it was pretty consistent that the water was not directly available when we needed it. We made do, but for this price, I am not sure I could recommend that value. The garden also seems to be shared with the adjoining cafe, so it was not very “private” which was my assumption based on the website information. The pool was a selling point for me but had no towels and it was not heated. I think there are “good bones” and a good base for this to be a lovely little hotel but more attention to details and staff help would go a long way (Parking directions, wifi, working safe, clearer breakfast instructions, etc). It just did not meet expectations based on the information I had researched. Maybe we were there at an “off time”, unsure. Wish I could say it was a better but it is “rough around the edges”
- C (8/5): Great place to stay after flying into Cancun. - Great location new within walking distance to the city center. Beautiful courtyard where breakfast is served. Quiet location. Nothing.
