• Shertha (10/5): - When you leave the comfort of your home to holiday, it's always scary booking places you haven't been to. Clarens Escape has a modern feel to a picture-perfect view. Parking is at the doorstep, over all cleaness. Easy self check in. We felt like we needed an extra day of 2 at the venue. It's definitely worth the cent.

• Samuel (10/5): I like the carport. How is situated it really tested my reverse skill - The location was just a few meters from the hub of clarens. The balcony and the nice view of mountains. The bedrooms were separated so nice. I don't have any complaints. Everything was exceptional

• Helga (8/5): I would stay here again, and recommend it. - Spacious and clean, with a large patio and beautiful mountain views. Kitchen reasonably well equipped, but could do with a cutting board. Within walking distance to one of the entrances of the Clarens Conservancy. If you are in a wheelchair/have trouble with stairs - there are none, so would help a lot for those people. Too little cupboard/packing space in the main and kids bedrooms for clothes; we had to stack them on the ironing board. No cutting board for preparing food, but that is an easy fix for the hosts. More traffic than expected as the road leads to a local township about 2km away

• Anemi (10/5): Exceptional - I went as a single parent with her daughter, the place felt cozy (but with more than enough space) it felt safe and everything I needed was within reach. The views is exceptional. The host is friendly and accommodating. And it is work friendly, wifi is included.

• Cbiggs (8/5): A peaceful and well-kept spot we’ll definitely be back, and next time with my husband too! - We had such a lovely overnight stay at this charming spot in Clarens. It was the perfect base for myself and my daughters ahead of our hiking in the Golden Gate are. The home is cozy — the fireplace added such a warm and inviting atmosphere and the electric blankets were a wonderful touch for the chilly night. The sunset from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking — a memory we’ll hold on to for a long time. Everything in the place was in great working condition, and it was clear that a lot of care has gone into keeping it well-maintained. We were also impressed by the JoJo tanks on the property, providing solid backup water — a reassuring feature. Overall, this stay ticked all the boxes: peaceful, comfortable, and practical. We’ll definitely be back soon, and next time I’ll be bringing my husband to enjoy it too! Just a small note for the owners: the shower door seems to be leaking slightly, and there's a bit of water damage on the shower wall as a result. Also, while the electric blankets are lovely, having the option of a thicker, heavier blanket on the beds would be great — especially in winter, for those who prefer a more traditional cozy cover.

The electric blankets and fire were a bonus in the chilly weather. The views from the deck were spectacular. Not a thing.

• Evert (9/5): Superb - It was great to have stayed here. We booked one night but quickly extended it. The house feels like home, and the surroundings are superb for good hikes. The house is equipped with all you need, kitchen and with a good shower (and pressure!). Clear and good communication with the owners. Would absolute recommend this place. -

The floors, bedroom, and bathroom were clean when we arrived I feel like there could have been a sponge to clean the dishes. That would have been quite helpful, since a lot of the dishes were not very clean and most of them had oil stains on them. We also found a toenail.

• Thembekile (7/5): Everything was superb expect for lack fire starters and thin blankets - It’s neat and clean and all our needs were met We arrived at night, so we couldn’t get the fire place going as there were no fire starters/ or even a lighter. It was a day after it had snowed so it was freezing. The blankets (throws) provided are too thin considering how cold Clarens gets

• Hlengiwe (10/5): A home away from home. - It was spacious, had good views of the mountains. The hosts were very friendly- we knew exactly what to do prior for the self-check in. Clarens is very cold this time of the year, the apartment had the option to use the fireplace and electric blankets on all the beds! This was fantastic. Very central location easy to get to restaurants and shops. Everything went well. Hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.

Had a Great Stay! Host was very friendly and helpfull. The no room service was also a plus as no one disturbed us during our peaceful stay. Maybe a ight above the shower, it is a bit dark. maybe a gate motor with remote for the entrance gate for vehicles.

We couldn't see our neighbors. Clean and comfortable beds and bedding. Great for families with kids as there's a nice secured lawn for the kids to play. Most stunning views! Sunrise and sunset not to be missed! Walking distance from town centre. Book it! You won't regret it! That we were only there for 2 nights! Would've loved to stay longer:)
• Van (10/5): Modern Elegance - This place is perfection. It is very modern, clean and spacious. It screams modern elegance in the mountains. The view from the balcony is exceptional. The self check in is an intorvert's dream. The rooms were very stylish and I could not find one thing in the apartment interior I did not like. I think it could use a splash pool in the yard.

It has enough space, it's furnished tastefully, it has adequate kitchen space and tools and on further exploration realized there are emergency lights for loadshedding, a Kettle for the gas stove top for when there is no power. I don't usually sleep under bedding provided by places like these, I felt comfortable enough using their linen, it was clean and fresh. It was spacious accommodation. Very private. Also very central to all the attractions and a short walk to the town circle where everything happens from 9am to 4pm. The hosts were great too and check-in was hassle free and easy peasy There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

• Pravashanee (10/5): Amazing sunrise location. - The accommodation exceeded our expectations! Great location, superb facilities, comfortable beds and amazing views of the Maluti mountains. I made an additional request which was promptly resolved. Communication with host was fantastic. We had regular load shedding updates so we planned our activities around it. If you enjoy a sunrise this is the best spot. I would have liked more walking maps or details of paths of the local area but this only a minor suggestion.

The host was also - its such a lovely place! big spacious living room with modern furniture that walks out on to the “stoep” with a beautiful view! Both rooms have a glass door to the stoep. Even a big garden if you have kids!

The location was nice and near to the town and easy access to shops & restaurants. Monique was an amazing host and communication was perfect from before we arrived until after. • Steven (9/5): Perfect Escape to Clarens - The view was like a postcard. Perfect for two couples. The fireplace warmed the whole place up. No door mats, it rained a lot so we dragged lots of water in with us and had to use the shower mat by the front door.

A suggestion: the main entrance driveway gate does not lock, this might not be a safety issue in Clarens but being from Joburg it would have given us more peace of mind if it locked/had a lock.

Whilst the pictures on the web fairly presented the facilities and aesthetics, we were even more impressed when we walked in. Modern, stylishly furnished. No details were spared. Full stove, all of the cooking facilities that one would desire, extra large fridge, great fireplace and even electric blankets on the beds. All brand new. Nice location with great views. It is not situated in town to allow escape from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk to town. Perfect in every way!
