Street noise was quite noticeable with people carrying on in the street below until late. Wouldn’t be a problem with either better sound proofing, double planed windows or a/c that would allow for the window being closed during sleeping, or both.

- elsa (9/5): Très agréable séjour - Hôtel typiquement anglais en plein cœur de Bath, à 2mn de l’abbaye, des thermes et à 10mn à pied du Circus et Royal Crescent. Chambre familiale très spacieuse, avec une grande chambre et une petite, une grande sdb, très belle déco. Chambre située dans le 2e bâtiment de l’hôtel, qui se trouve sur une charmante petite place. Petit déjeuner pantagruélique! On peut laisser les bagages la journée si besoin. Personnel très serviable. La petite place était parfaite en basse saison, pas de bruit - mais peut-être plus de passage évidemment en haute saison en raison de la situation en plein cœur du quartier le plus touristique ? Nous n’en avons pas été gênés en tout cas. Séjour parfait pour nous !

- Hannah (2/5): Hot, noisy and a bad nights sleep. - Comfy bed and good location Our stay was terrible, which we reported to the gentleman at check out. He assured me that it would be shared with management and that they would be in touch. The room was top floor, unbearably hot but an air con unit was provided. The air con unit however kept flying out the extraction hole in the wall, and was so loud you could not talk, sleep or watch TV whilst it was on. We ended up having to open the window, but the street noise then kept us up. There was no way we could have been comfortable or able to sleep; which begs the question of why you would charge out a room which is clearly not suitable to sleep in. They obviously know it’s hot, hence the air con unit!

- Kristina (10/5): Best breakfast eggs benny! - I felt very comfortable staying on a solo trip and could find everything easily from here. The eggs benny with salmon was the best I have ever tasted! I will never find a better one. Also the shower was spectacular. Reception and also email responses were friendly. My only suggestion is to have written instructions about check out time available in the room. Luckily I asked, but it was tricky to check out as reception opened 10 minutes before my airport taxi.

- Cara (9/5): Charming, with lovely staff - Lovely hotel. Room was spacious, clean and well-presented and had nice window seats. The honesty bar is a very charming space. All staff were friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfast tasted good. Would happily stay again. Very central. This wasn't a problem for us, but some might like to know that half the hotel is in a separate building (20 seconds away) so you need to step outside to get to breakfast if you're in that building. The cold breakfast range was limited - no cheeses or meats so I ended up having cooked. They supported my coeliac dietary requirements well by kindly heating up pastries I'd brought along, but I wish I didn't have to and that hotels would have more than just GF bread available - GF croissants etc can be kept ready in the freezer!

It’s a gorgeous boutique hotel, beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail. The rooms are stylish, comfortable, and feel really special without being over the top. The staff are what really make it though – genuinely friendly, welcoming, and nothing is ever too much trouble. You feel looked after from the moment you arrive. The location is perfect as well – right in the heart of Bath, so everything is within easy walking distance. We’ve stayed here a few times now and wouldn’t choose anywhere else. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere with charm, character, and a really personal touch.

It’s exactly what we were looking for as we wanted to eat out for all meals. It’s just behind the baths, within the heart of the food & shopping scene. Gorgeous location with beautiful shop fronts. Our room was really pretty, spacious, with high ceilings and lovely interiors. The quality of everything was excellent - hand soap and lotion, shampoo & conditioner, bed linen, towels. It can be noisy by night - mostly people walking back home or birds but it was sporadic. If you are easy going about noise and location and comfort is your priority - it’s a great choice.

- Rachel (10/5): - Fantastic room right in the middle of the most famous parts of Bath. Lots of space and unusual extras given. The bathroom was amazing. They had thought about every detail. It felt special. It was very kind that our room was upgraded..It overlooked the 300 year old plane tree in the area in front which was just stunning. He staff were very helpful and phoned us when our room was ready. Looked after our luggage and put it ready for us in our room again. We would definitely stay again. Our room was excellent value - but it would have been even better if it had included breakfast. We felt the breakfast was a little pricey so decided not to have it.

- villager4212015 (10/5): Perfect refuge. - The hotel close to just about everything. The staff were warm and helpful. The room clean and comfortable with the only noise being church bells ringing outside the window. The honor bar and lounge were a great refuge at the end of a busy day. The breakfast was worth doing in a city that becomes easily overcrowded. It was a delicious and peaceful way to start the day.

- Victoria (10/5): The friendliest people - I loved this hotel. I was traveling alone, it was cold and sleet outside and I was hours early for check-in. They allowed me to store my bag while I walked 2 minutes over to the Roman Baths. They were able to accomodate an early check-in at no additional charge, and messaged me via Whatsapp to let me know that the room was ready. The room was clean and well stocked for everything I needed with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. And most of all it was warm. The heater was exceptional, which I really appreciated. Downstairs they have an honesty bar, where you can go self-serve drinks and a few snacks. The location was perfect for a single day in Bath to go see the Abbey, Baths and do a little shopping. I highly recommend. Top notch service I honestly cannot think of a single thing they could do to improve.

- multitrippers (8/5): Small hotel with lots of character - A small extremely well situated hotel with lots of character in a charming little street. The staff were really helpful and friendly and our room was great, very large and spotlessly clean, but for the first 2 nights of our 3 night stay we got hardly any sleep. Groups of people milling around, intermittently shouting and making a real din under our window and in the streets around the hotel often continuing till 4am. I appreciate that there is nothing the hotel can do about this, it’s completely out of their control and they do provide ear plugs in the room. Breakfast good if you wanted a cooked breakfast but a very limited choice if you didn’t.

- H1827LVsharong (8/5): Good Stay and we will book again - We stayed here over the valentines weekend. We were accommodated in the second property which was on the square. The hotel was very clean and rooms were very nice albeit compact. The shower was great with good pressure and good amenities. All the staff were extremely attentive. The main building accommodated the honestly bar which was very well equipped and comfortable with TV and music available. Breakfast was a little disappointing but all in all we had a good stay and will return but we would definitely request to be accommodated in the main building to provide more access to the breakfast room and bar. If you are booking this hotel, it’s always worth asking which building you will be staying in.

- THOMAS (9/5): - Great location, staff very helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and clean. No parking in the immediate vicinity, however this is not a major issue.
- Mary (10/5): Great small hotel in a perfect location for exporing Bath. - It is a lovely small hotel, in a great location. It is a historical building, so the building is interesting. The staff were all very helpful. The location is what attracted me, however, the building is very interesting. Our main bedroom and bathroom has fireplaces. The floors slope and the stairs are definitely original. The bed was very comfortable, lovely bedding, nice toiletries and extras in the room

- Chontira (9/5): - Bathtub in the room. Location which is close to everything and I love to see the big tree right outside our room. The room is lovely and clean. The location is very central, which is convenient, but it does mean there can be some noise. On the morning we were leaving, unfortunately, a large truck was parked right outside our room, so we had to keep all the blinds closed. Despite this, it’s a good option if you want to be in the middle of everything, just be aware that street noise can sometimes be an issue.

- Gillian (9/5): Really good location and would definitely stay there again. - Great location, beautiful large room, well equipped, very comfortable and beautifully clean. Price was good value for money and I would certainly stay there again. No lift (my suitcase was quite heavy to haul up the stairs) and the room above me was quite noisy.
- Charlotte (4/5): Due to the amount of noise, we wouldn’t come back to stay at this hotel. - The hotel itself is lovely and clean and our room was beautiful. The location is ideal if you don’t want to walk very far, as it is very central. With the hotel being central, there comes A LOT of outdoor noise! The windows are very thin, so unfortunately you can hear every person that walks past your room. The building in the courtyard is in an area where lots of drunken youths hang around, and spend their time shouting and screaming until the early hours of the morning. With the building being old, you can also hear fellow guests above you and next door. The couple next door to us were making a ridiculous amount of noise, which made us feel very awkward and uncomfortable! Due to this, our stay was not relaxing, we had a sleepless night and made the disappointing decision to check out one day early. It’s such a shame because the hotel is so lovely, it’s sadly just ruined by an overbearing amount of noise!
- 690bethanyp (6/5): Noise!!!! No sleep - Booked a 3 person room for me my sister and mum, receptionist was lovely and so helpful on arrival. The room was beautifully decorated and so clean, the bathroom was gorgeous. Location great however it was so noisy that none of us ended up sleeping, could also hear all guests around us including one couple in the act right against our wall… students drinking in the street and lots of drunks walking back from all surrounding bars. Unfortunately we left after 1 night and went home because it was unbearable and we ended up feeling ill from lack of sleep. The receptionist on the way out was nice but didn’t seem to try help us to stay or even ask why we wanted to check out early. The noise does let the whole hotel down unfortunately.

- Neale (10/5): A lovely hotel in a fantastic location. - The hotel is in an excellent central location, close to Bath Abbey. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and everything has been finished to a high standard. The hotel has an honesty bar in the basement which provides a lovely, relaxing space to enjoy a drink after a busy day exploring Bath. The staff were friendly, helpful and we will definitely return next time we visit Bath. No dislikes.
