Didn’t like the mouse droppings in the cupboard. Didn’t like the domestic violence occurring in a neighbouring room. Police contacted. We left in the middle of the night and email reception in the morning with no response.

- Fi Fletcher (9/5): Relaxing stay with exceptional dining! - Great location for a short stay! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were spacious with incredibly comfortable beds. It’s only a five-minute walk to the local shops, which was very convenient. Be sure to book at reception if you’d like to dine at the on-site restaurant—it's well worth it. The steaks are the best in town and cooked perfectly to your liking. Absolutely loved the food here! Highly recommended.

It was the reason I booked this accommodation as the restaurant had good reviews. Disappointed we missed out on that. The staff were very friendly and it’s in a good location, walkable to other restaurants and the supermarket.

I needed to contact management to cut our stay short but no-one was available in the morning. I used the Wotif message facility to try to contact hotel management but did not receive a reply. The rooms are dated and the hotel layout is generally unpleasant without access to a suitable outdoor area.

- Simon (4/5): Poor Value - Extremely poor value for money. Approximately ten rooms around a bland concrete rectangle at the back of a run down hotel. Shower barely hot enough at 4pm and 8am. No plates, bowls, cutlery or glasses to accompany the fridge and microwave. Staff made no attempt to accomodate us in the restaurant although this is the property’s principal claim to fame. Tiny rooms. The highest per metre tariff in our current two month trip.

- Anne (10/5): Very comfortable older beautifully renovated motel. - Beautifully renovated older motel in the heart of Charters Towers close to all shops and eateries. Very good onsite restaurant in the Rix Hotel right next door. Also very central to all of the tourist attractions. Nothing - all good. Very comfortable motel room with bar fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. Would definitely stay there again.

- Warren (9/5): Amazing staff, amazing cocktails, amazing food - The staff were awesome, from checking in at the bar to the cleaners in the morning, the best I have ever come across. The had dinner in the restaurant for my wife’s birthday and it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The cocktails were amazing. The food was exceptional. The staff were fantastic. We found out the owner was behind the bar as well. If you want an excellent experience go here. Being woken at 6am by gunshots in the streets, to find out it is the local council keeping the local bat colony from roosting in the town centre - obviously not the motels fault - maybe banning smoking from under the awnings would be a great idea

- Amanda (5/5): Lovely staff, convenient location. - Great price and convenient location. Staff were lovely and helpful. Shower needs a good clean, calcium and soak stains all over tiled floor. Mattress needs upgrading, can feel the springs. Check in is at the bar, can barely hear a word over the music blasting. Perhaps somewhere a bit quieter to do check ins.
